Vianna's giggles grew as Ferris continued accusing her of being a cheater, but she was determined and didn't let them grow into bigger laughs, refusing to look back at the young man. She couldn't be distracted, he was too close, the slightest distraction would give him the lead for sure. And Vianna was not going to allow that to happen! She was far too proud to let him have that victory, especially after all the boasting she'd just been doing about winning every race they ever had.

It was then that Ferris called out to her. Vianna didn't come to a complete halt, but she slowed down considerably, her running coming to nothing more than just a slow distracted jog as she turned her head back to the young man behind her, the slightest hint of worry in her eyes. She thought perhaps something had happened, perhaps he'd fallen and gotten injured. However, what she found was a perfectly healthy Professor quickly catching up with her, pecking her lips, and running off at the speed of light, leaving her behind.

They were almost right at the imaginary finish line now, and Vianna's jaw was hanging open. That... cheater! "Professor, you cheater!" she called out after him, setting off in a speedy run, as quickly as her legs would allow. She couldn't let him reach the end of the bridge before her! She'd.... shove him aside or something if she had to! He couldn't touch that [imaginary] finish line!
So, just as the young man was pretty much at the end of the bridge, Vianna tackled him, not having really slowed down enough to come to a proper halt at his side, like pushing him aside was going to result in her triumphant, for he would be on the ground and she on her feet, a few steps ahead, celebrating her victory. But instead, they both ended up tumbling to the ground, falling onto the cobblestone streets of the Roman city, receiving strange looks from everyone passing by. And all Vianna could really do at that point was laugh, completely oblivious to the fact that they were disturbing the peace and receiving strange looks, or that her elbow was hurting and she would probably have bruises on her knees the following day. None of it really mattered. She was beyond amused at this point, her giggles overpowering the physical pain.

Ferris grinned and let out another hearty chuckle as he heard Vianna call after him, obviously not pleased, informing him that he was a cheater. But he didn't reply. He was too close to reply, to distract himself from that imaginary finish line that he was just steps from crossing victoriously. And then suddenly he was catapulting to the ground and a weight was on top of him, helping to roll him onto the cobblestones and off of his feet, creating a pain in his right knee, and then his shoulder as he crashed onto his side. He let out an "Oof!" the second he'd been tackled, and then very suddenly he was just on the cobblestones, completely bewildered momentarily until he caught sight of a girl on top of him. Sabotage.

"VI!" the young man complained in a groan, about to give further reprimands for tackling him as though they were in an American game of football. But he couldn't; not when she was giggling like that. And suddenly her laughter was contagious, causing Ferris to let out a long string of hearty chuckles, laying directly on his back with Vianna half on top of him, their limbs sprawled out awkwardly in that way that comes when two people try to catch themselves from falling over. And he was laughing, more uncontrollably than he'd expected, his brown eyes sparkling as he gently shoved his wife for her sneaky tactics.

Vianna's laughter only seemed to grow as Ferris said her name in a complaint, obviously not pleased with her evil tactics. Her cheeks were slowly turning a bright shade of pink from laughing, and the tip of her little round nose was a bright shade of pink as well, though not due to laughter but rather to the cold wind that had been crashing against her skin all the time they'd been running. And there was an overjoyed sort of amusement in her laughter, especially once Ferris joined her.

At first, some people had stopped, considering to go over to the couple and help them, ask if they were okay, but when they started to hear their laughter they'd either mutter something about crazy tourists or shake their heads slightly with amusement and move on. Vianna was oblivious to them all, though, too consumed in her own laughter for the next few long moments. It was like all the laughing she hadn't been able to do while running was revealing itself now, making it impossible for the girl to keep a straight face. But once it died out, long moments later, Vianna was left with a lightly pink face and almost teary eyes, a smile curving her lips as she merely admired the young man half beneath her, flashing him a playful grin before leaning in and placing her lips upon his own.

Ferris hadn't laughed like this in a long time. It must've been months, maybe even a whole year (!) since he'd laughed so hard that his sides hurt, so hard that tears had threatened to fall from the corners of his dark brown eyes. And it felt good. It felt oddly relaxing and nice to just let out hearty chuckles, allowing his entire body to quake with him as laughter erupted from his chest, mixing in with Vianna's melodious giggles and creating a duet of sorts that the other residents on the bridge couldn't quite understand. But he didn't really care about them, not at all. It was his wife who he cared about, amused more than ever that she would legitimately tackle him down to the cobblestones just to keep him from winning a race they had.

And once his laughter had died down a good few long moments later, tears still threatening to fall from his brown eyes, he was able to focus in on the girl before him, taking a deep breath he so needed as he admired the sight of her with a beaming smile on his rosy expression. But laughter brought a good deal of colour to Ferris's expression, and his normally pale skin had turned a nice shade of pink with all of the laughter and the temperature outside. He didn't notice any of this though when his laughter calmed and he was left watching Vianna, the warmest of smiles on his face as he glanced down to her lips. And just like that she was kissing him and he was kissing her and he wanted nothing more than to treat her to the most loving of gestures he could muster at that moment. He slipped an arm around her waist and brought his other hand up to tuck all of her long brown hair behind her ear, relishing in the feel of her smooth skin beneath his fingertips as he did so.

Vianna's lips were still curved into a smile as Ferris returned the treat she was awarding his own lips, her smile only widening slightly as she felt some of his fingers brush gently against the side of her face as he pushed her hair back behind her ear, the touch feeling surprisingly warm despite the fact that his hands were freezing. But after all that running, and now sharing this proximity, their bodies were slowly beginning to warm, to become oblivious to the chill that filled the night air. And even if she was still cold, Vianna wouldn't have noticed. She was too distracted at this moment, too consumed in the wonderful kiss she was sharing with her husband, in how great it felt to have his lips, warm as her own, treating her so gently in this cold weather. It was the best feeling in the world, and the girl relished in it for the few, long moments it lasted, only pulling back every now and then to catch her breath for a quick second and return her lips back to his own. She was reluctant to let them go for good, to bring the kiss to an end, but after what had probably been minutes upon minutes, the girl pulled back officially, her crystal blue eyes fluttering open and the smile curving her lips widening. "I won," she announced softly after a moment's silence, her smile turning into a grin.

Ferris couldn't help but get lost in this kiss. How could he not when it felt as though he hadn't been so near to his wife in ages? That was probably a lie, especially since they'd shared quite a few nice kisses just in this past day. But this one was different; it was warm and comfortable and familiar and sweet, surprisingly intimate despite the fact that they were in a public place. And though Fervi usually made it a priority not to make others suffer through their kisses which really couldn't be helped from coming along; he didn't care this time. He didn't care if a thousand people were watching or grossed out by the fact that he was treating the most beloved person in his life to the sweetest of kisses.

And when they finally did break apart after what must've been minutes of simply sharing the warmest and sweetest of kisses, only breaking apart when air was needed and completely forgetting about location and time, Ferris couldn't help but beam at Vianna. His brown eyes sparkled and his dimples came out of hiding as he laid there on his back, keeping his wife as close as possible to himself as he listened to her suddenly announce very softly that she'd won. "Shut up," he grumbled to her playfully, pecking her lips lovingly once more just because he so wanted to. He let out a soft sigh of content at this and had to plant another right there, and just one more after that, unable to really help himself as he relished in the feel of her so near.

Vianna giggled lightly at Ferris's response, and she was just leaning in to peck his lips at that moment when he leaned in himself and met her halfway through, clearly having the same idea as her. The girl smiled as their lips met for a second before pulling back, and a few giggles escaped her lips when Ferris leaned in and pecked her again, and then one more time after that. She returned all of these gestures lovingly, her blue eyes sparkling brighter than ever, and her smile so joyous and her cheeks so pink, that it was like looking at that sixteen-year-old girl from so many years ago again; it was hard to believe she was in her mid-twenties, with a baby at home. But this was their day. Their day to be young again (not that they weren't young, of course they're still considered kids to most of their seniors, but they were definitely not carefree teenagers anymore), to not have a worry in the world and to just be silly and goofy and as mushy as they wished.

"Sooo, Professor," Vianna started after a moment's silence, once the peck kisses had come to an end. "I know it's really comfortable out here, on the ground with all these people staring at us," she started casually, playfully, "But what do you think of maybe walking around a bit? Or heading back to the suite?"

Ferris let out a soft chuckle at the sound of Vianna's giggles filling the air, loving how beautifully pink her cheeks were, how carefree she seemed; how they both seemed. It felt like they hadn't been this way in ages and definitely not in the past few months; they'd just never had the chance. And now that they were just able to laugh and kiss and run around like children, it felt really good and relaxing. Like they were just getting a break from everyday life. And he knew immediately that they couldn't wait so long for the next little break like they had for this one, knowing very well that he wanted more time with his wife than he'd been getting these past few months. He was distracted from these thoughts as Vianna spoke playfully, asking if he wanted to wander around or head back to the suite despite how comfortable it was on the ground with all of the people staring at them. Ferris let out a hearty chuckle at this and gave a brief nod, gently beginning to stand up, helping Vianna to her feet as well in the next moment. He was now able to feel where he'd hit the ground and gave a soft chuckle as he felt the small soreness in his shoulder and knees. "I think you've given me bruises, gem," he grumbled softly as he intwined their fingers with a soft chuckle.

Vianna smiled as Ferris nodded his head and sat up on the ground, then getting up to her feet with his help. She, too, was able to register the pain her elbow and knees had been feeling at that moment, her brows furrowing slightly and her nose scrunching up at the pain before her features relaxed again and she was able to push the pain aside. It wasn't too horrible, it just caught her off-guard. She turned to Ferris as they began to walk and the young man informed her that she had given him bruises, something to which she chuckled softly. "I'm sorry, Professor," she said. "If it makes you feel any better, I think I've given myself bruises too," she added, laughing lightly. She turned quiet then, taking the next few moments to walk in a comfortable silence with her husband, admiring their surroundings. They seemed to be in the central part of Rome now, and the streets were beginning to get slightly more crowded. "Y'know... I think our mothers are going to have a feast when we head back home and have to admit to them that they were right," she said with a small smile. "That they did well in making us come..."

Ferris let out a soft chuckle as Vianna spoke, apologizing for the bruises she'd probably given him and mentioning that she'd most likely given herself some too. He flashed her a bit of a smile before listening as she then suggested that their mothers would have a feast when they returned home once they'd admitted that they'd been right in making them come. His smile widened slightly at that, brown eyes roaming over their surroundings absentmindedly, "Well, we can't deny them the privelage of knowing they were right," he murmured with a soft chuckle, turning to look at Vianna with sparkling brown eyes.

"I'm thinking we might need to do something like this more frequently than just on our anniversary..." he then suggested thoughtfully. "I mean, we don't necessarily have to leave the country if you don't want but...maybe every month or so, or whenever we need it, we could just...take a weekend for ourselves. Just you and me?" Ferris suggested with slightly raised eyebrows. "Like a date." He flashed her a bit of a grin. "I sort of miss you, you know..." Ferris murmured more seriously, softly as he gave a small smile.

Vianna chuckled softly and nodded her head in agreement as Ferris shared that they couldn't really deny their mothers the privilege of knowing that they were right. Her blue eyes were absentmindedly examining the cobblestone streets they walked on as the young man then spoke again, suggesting the idea of doing something like this more often, not just on their anniversary. Vianna liked the sound of this immediately, turning her blue-eyed gaze to her husband as he then suggested perhaps they do this every month. The girl's eyebrows rose then, not really having expected him to suggest it to be that often, she had imagined perhaps he'd suggest holidays, but the idea of doing something like this every month sounded much lovelier, and also quite fair, the more she thought about it. They worked a lot, the both of them, and little Gabe was like their third job. A little break once a month wouldn't be too much, and besides, she was sure the little one's grandmothers would be beyond thrilled to watch over him again (especially if it's just him and not everyone else's kids as well, like they were doing this weekend).

"I think I would love to have a date with my Professor each month," Vianna replied to his suggestions with a grin, her blue eyes sparkling as he shared with her that he'd missed her, his tones suddenly turning a little more serious. And even though they were really actually in each other's company everyday, Vianna understood perfectly well what he meant. There was a difference between spending the whole day, after work, with him at home, and it was something completely different to spend a day with him away from home, away from their jobs and troubles. "I miss you too, Professor," she replied softly to his words. "I always knew I did, but... I think this weekend has made me realize how much I really do miss you. And I miss you a lot," she confessed with a slightly sheepish smile, a moment later turning her gaze away to their surroundings absentmindedly.

Ferris, whose gaze had fallen to their shoes for a moment, looked up as Vianna admitted that she would love to have a date with him each month. He beamed at her response to this, having grown slightly anxious that perhaps she would think once a month was too frequent, that maybe Gabe needed them more than that. But he was obviously happy that she seemed to like the idea as much as he did, listening as she assured him that she missed him too; that she always knew she did but this weekend had made her realize how much she really missed him, and she missed him a lot. The young man's dark brown eyes sparkled at the sight of her sheepish smile, suddenly sneaking the warmest of kisses onto her cheek, "I've missed you a lot too, gem," he promised her softly, bringing her a bit closer through their intwined fingers. "I feel like we haven't been able to just...I dunno, be you and me in a long time." But it was sort of true. "It's been...the three of us for the past few months," Ferris reminded her softly, thoughtfully, as his brown eyes scanned their surroundings absentmindedly. "And as much as I love it being the three of us... I feel like we sort of..almost forgot about the two of us." He flashed her a small grin, squeezing her hand gently. "And I don't want us to lose that. Because I really, really like the two of us." He didn't want them to be a family that had parents who drifted away from one another. Of course he wanted to focus on Gabe but he didn't want to shine the spotlight so much that they forgot about one another; that over the years they could ever possibly begin to find a distance due to their lack of time where it was just the two of them.

Vianna's smile grew and turned warm as Ferris placed a kiss on her cheek, listening quietly and attentively as he explained to her how they had been a trio all this time, how they hadn't really had a chance to be just the two of them in a while, and he didn't want them to lose that, as he really liked the two of them. Vianna gave a bit of a grin, her gaze returning to the young man at her side. "I really like the two of us, too, Professor," she said softly, her smile bright. "We have to make a promise to each other," she started again after a moment's silence, "that we won't forget about us. That we'll do our best to give ourselves a weekend like this, that we'll always have a chance to be carefree kids again," she said, her smile widening with each word she said, her blue eyes sparkling full of life. But she, too, didn't want them to grow distant with time. The idea of something like that being possible had never occurred to her these past few years of their marriage. However, when Gabe came along... It was true, the little one did bring them closer in a way, but at the same time, he kept them so busy, along with their jobs, that it was hard for them to truly enjoy their time together the carefree way they were now. And for once, the idea of them drifting apart did actually seem possible to the girl, like a horrendous truth that could no longer be marked as impossible. But it was avoidable. And she was determined to avoid such a fate for their relationship.

Ferris gave a bit of a grin as Vianna admitted that she really liked the two of them as well, mentioning that they needed to make a promise to one another. His eyebrows rose at this suggestion, listening as she explained further that they needed to make a promise that they wouldn't forget about each other, that they'd do their best to give themselves a weekend where they could just be carefree kids again. He let out a soft chuckle at this but obviously liked the sound of this sort of promise, nodding as he paused in the road and pulled her a little closer to him, right before his expression. "I, Ferris Montgomery, promise you, Vianna Montgomery, that we will always have our weekends and I will always have time for my wife," he promised softly with the warmest of smiles.

Vianna's eyebrows rose slightly in mild surprise as Ferris suddenly came to a halt in the middle of the road, pulling the girl a little closer and promising her, rather formally, that they would always have their weekends and he would always have time for his wife. Vianna's blue eyes sparkled at these words, and there was a bit of amusement on her expression as well, as she hadn't expected him to take her suggestion for a promise this seriously. She liked it, though, and after a moment of just beaming up at her husband, the girl got on her toes and placed her lips upon his own without hesitation, her lips still curved slightly into a smile.

The second that their lips came into contact, the young man couldn't really help himself any longer. It was like there was a magnetic force pulling them together, making him want nothing more than to just pull her as close as he could, keep her right next to him. His free arm slipped around her waist, pulling her closer as he returned the kiss as lovingly as his lips would allow, completely forgetting about anything else on the planet besides the girl before him. There wasn't anything else that mattered, everything paled in comparison to how much he wanted to kiss her, how lovingly he deepened their kiss, reflecting all the while on those sparkling blue eyes, that smile that she always shined up at him. Even the way she leaned up on her toes to kiss him was more adorable than he'd ever remembered it, finding that he hadn't had the chance to focus on these details in a long, long while. He'd missed her, and just being able to kiss her; and it was easy to tell.

It wasn't until a few very long moments later that Vianna pulled back from their kiss, realizing, just as her blue eyes fluttered open, that she and Ferris weren't making much progress in moving along. It seemed they had to stop and kiss or just grow distracted every five minutes. She didn't mind it, though; not at all. She was amused by it, and happy that they could be so attracted to one another that they couldn't keep their lips away for too long. It was good to know they could still be like that, that they hadn't forgotten how to just be their old carefree selves. "You really need to stop being so distracting, Professor," said Vianna as they began to walk once more, letting out a sigh and shaking her head slightly, as if her husband was frustrating her by distracting her so much. "We're never going to get anywhere if you keep giving me reasons to kiss you!" she complained, playfulness hidden in the sparkle of her blue eyes as she tried her best not to smile.

Ferris gave the warmest of smiles to the girl before him as she broke apart from their kiss, beginning to walk absentmindedly at her side with a sort of goofy expression on his pale face. He felt like such a doofus, smiling to himself like that with a dazed sort of facial expression; but he didn't mind. He liked that Vianna's kisses could do that to him, and merely listened as she mentioned that he needed to stop being so distracting, that they were never going to get anywhere if he kept giving her reasons to kiss him. He let out a hearty chuckle at this, rolling his dark brown eyes playfully, "I dunno what you're talking about gem," he decided before smirking softly to himself and deciding to mutter in French, just to tease her as French did usually get her to give him a kiss. "Je suis à peine celui qui est à l'origine de tous les baisers..." he murmured to himself softly, a smile curving his lips as he teased her.

Vianna merely gave her husband a look as he very simply shared that he didn't know what she was talking about, before returning her gaze to their surroundings absentmindedly, just admiring the ancient and medieval architecture just as the young man at her side began to speak once more, this time in French. This got Vianna's eyebrows to raise slightly and her feet to slow down, so they were barely moving now. She turned to Ferris then, a sort of awed look to her blue eyes, but a burning curiosity in them as well. "What does that mean?" she asked.

Ferris gave a small smile as Vianna's feet slowed down, turning his brown eyes to her as she turned her blue ones to him, asking what the French words had meant. "Nothinggggg...." he decided with a bit of a boyish grin, answering very childishly as he teased her, already having seen the burning sort of curiosity behind his wife's gaze. Amused, he absentmindedly swung their intwined hands between them just slightly, glancing away from her with a small smile.

Vianna's brows furrowed as Ferris merely gave her a childish 'Nothinggggg' and watched as he turned away from her, continuing to walk as if nothing had been said, as if he could just leave her in the dark with that curiosity eating her alive. Now a more determined sort of look took over her expression, as Vianna refused to move and now stood still in the middle of the street. "Professor!" she complained, her brows furrowing further. "Tell me what it means!" she demanded, now almost beginning to look like a child who was not getting what they wanted and would throw a fit if necessary to get her way.

Ferris let out a soft chuckle as Vianna complained with a 'Professor!', turning to look at the girl who'd paused in the middle of the street only to see those brows furrowed adorably as she demanded for him to tell her want that meant right that instant. "You're so cute when you're grumpy," the young man grumbled teasingly, walking back the couple steps to her and planting a sweet kiss to her lips for just a moment. "Really, I'm thinking that stubborn Vianna might be even cuter than vengeant Vianna," he admitted with a soft chuckle, as though he hadn't even registered her demand, leaning back in for another kiss.

Vianna didn't seem amused by Ferris's playful compliments, silently watching as the young man returned to her side, kissing her lips for a moment that she returned the gesture just very vaguely, without much enthusiasm. She listened as he then spoke again, sharing that stubborn Vianna might be cuter than vengeant Vianna, but the girl was still not amused. None of this was what she had been asking to hear, none of it was answering her question, so as the young man before her leaned in to award her another kiss, Vianna took a step back, not letting his lips meet her own. "Tell me," she demanded stubbornly.

Ferris's eyebrows rose as his lips were met with air, watching as Vianna took a step back away from him with a stubborn expression, demanding that she be told what he said in French. His brows furrowed just slightly at this, not expecting her to have really been all that serious about wanting to know. "I-I just said that I was hardly the one to blame for the kisses," he explained softly, retrieving his arms which were barely even touching her anymore. "And I take it back, vengeant Vianna is definitely cuter than stubborn Vianna," he grumbled as though this was the biggest insult on the face of the planet, crossing his arms over his chest. He hadn't looked this childish in a long time either. It seemed as though they were falling back to their teenage years in more than just one way.

Vianna's expression softened as Ferris finally translated his words to her, and she was just about to celebrate her triumph when the young man spoke once more, this time deciding that vengeant Vianna was cuter than stubborn Vianna, his arms coming to cross over his chest as he said so. Vianna's triumph faded at that moment, her expression now replaced by disbelief as her jaw dropped slightly and her blue eyes widened. She watched him incredulously for a moment before her brows furrowed disapprovingly. "Well I wouldn't have turned stubborn if you would've just told me what you had said right from the start!" said the girl in her defense, not about to apologize for being curious. It was his fault. He shouldn't have teased her.
