| | That Summer - V.5!
This is a continued role-play created by hazydazy012, and thanks to Gryffindoll, emmafan123 and Lily Lupin this RP, plot and a couple characters are still thriving! It's one of our longest running RPs in a LONG time, if not the longest. So congrats to you girls for doing such a good job at keeping the thread(s) active, and enjoy.
This is version (5) FIVE, the first four threads have reached their post limits. From the original thread: Quote:

One year at Hogwarts a mysterious spell was cast that not even the professors can undo. You wouldn't be able to see a difference at Hogwarts, just looking at the school, but it actually made magic impossible! Not a single person or creature could cast a spell while in the school. How are the students supposed to learn when they can't try out the new spells? Sure, most were devestated, (Especially the 7th years! How are they supposed to finish their last year?!) but of course, some were estatic too! Who doesn't want to have a longer summer vacation? So, most students go home in high spirits TWO months before Hogwarts was officially supposed to be let out for summer break. Only one week into their luxuriously long holiday, every student recieves this letter:
"It is mandatory for any students who want to complete their year to attend "La Bacchetta Magica", a summer learning camp for wizards located in a small getaway near Tuscany. You will be finishing up the studies that were unfinished at Hogwarts. Please bring your wand and other necessary items for regular classes."
Fantastic. Some are angry, but most are excited! I mean, it's called "The Magic Wand" in Italian, for goodness sakes. It's gotta be fun. And guess what?! It is! Everyone is having a great time with the mix of school and just plain summer camp fun! How will the Divinations in the morning and campfires at night affect the students? You decide!
Please join! There will need to be a few professors/camp counselors! Even number of boys and girls, please. Post a bio with a picture, thanks!
(P.S. I looked up "La Bacchetta Magica" and it told me "The Magic Wand" but it was only an online translator. If I'm wrong, then whoops! Heehee)

Victor rolled his eyes as Vince and Ferris started at it again. "Are you two ladies done embarrassing yourselves yet?" he asked, throwing the other two a clearly unamused look. "Keep it up like that and people are going to start thinking you two are married." He paused. "To each other."
"Yeah, very funny, Victor," muttered Vince, throwing his brother a glare. Weren't they supposed to be on the same side, against Ferris Wheel?! Well, that didn't matter now. They had gotten part of the find-Vianna-an-anniversary-gift job done, and the young man was getting bored of looking at jewelry. "I need some coffee," he said, beginning to head out of the shop at that moment, remembering he'd spotted a small cafe only a short distance away from the jewelry shop. "You two coming, or what?"

| Blonde&Proud Sirius Sense of humor OOC: I'm off for now Deee Derupersss! I'll see you tomorrow! Ferris was just about to continue his statements with Vince when Victor suddenly cut through, asking if they were done embarrassing themselves as they were beginning to look like a married couple. He merely rolled his eyes at this with a soft sigh, crossing his arms over his chest as Vince decided that he needed some coffee, starting out of the jewelry store in search of the beverage that had never sounded better to the young man who was really starting to dislike his company. If he wasn't being guilted, he was being accused of flirting with a girl that didn't even speak his language, and he was getting pretty tired of it. But at the idea of coffee to pass the time, he couldn't pass up the offer and quickly followed after Vince with another sigh escaping his lips, desperate to be out of the jewelry store and wanting nothing more than to see his wife whose lack of presence was really starting to weigh on him.

Vince led the trio of boys over to a small cafe that sat not too far off from the jewelry shop. It was, unlike all the other locations they'd been visiting that day, very cozy and welcoming, its prices and decorations not intimidating to the tourists' wallets. He stopped by the counter, making his order in Italian, only to receive, just about a second later, his exact order in his hand. The shop obviously worked through the use of magic, making their service fast and always accurate.
Pleased with this effectiveness, and glad to finally have some caffeine to help keep him awake (he hadn't been getting much sleep in the past few... years), Vince took a seat close to the windows offering a view out to the piazza. The windows were enchanted too, actually, and each offered a view to a different popular tourist spot in Rome. Vince just happened to choose the only one that wasn't enchanted and provided an accurate sight of where he truly was, since all the tourists had hogged up the other ones, fascinated that they could get a live preview of what was going on in these other places while they were short miles away. But the young man wasn't all that fascinated with these sights, anyway; this was Rome, he was Italian, he'd been here before. Not very often, and not in the last few years, but it was still nothing too terribly new and fascinating for him.
Victor joined him soon after, with his own cup of coffee. He, too, didn't seem too interested in his surroundings and seemed a little more thoughtful instead. How had a trip that was supposed to focus on sightseeing and experiencing a couple days and a night in Rome turned into anniversary-gift-hunting with just his brother and Montgomery? Absolutely nothing was going according to plan, and he couldn't say he was necessarily having the best time of his life. However, Victor wasn't one to complain about this sort of thing, so he said nothing, completely forgetting that he'd just left Ferris to his own luck in trying to make his order in Italian.

| Blonde&Proud Sirius Sense of humor OOC: "past few...years" Bahahahaha Poor Vince. *sigh* Ferris watched the other two men order their coffee in swift Italian only to receive their cups moments later, right in hand. He'd just stepped up to the counter when he realized that both of them were heading towards a table, sitting down in just the next second and leaving him to his own devices when it came to ordering in a completely Italian-speaking city. "Uh..." the young man murmured as his brown eyes widened, turning back to the man behind the counter with a weak, sheepish smile. "I..I'm sorry I don't...speak? Speak Italian?" Ferris tried softly, hesitantly, feeling a bit like an idiot for going into an Italian cafe (seemingly by himself, without a translator) just to order in English. But after a few minutes, he and the purely Italian man (just his luck) managed to gather his order by lots of pointing and confused hand gestures as they tried to map out what Ferris wanted, clarifying exactly what he was asking for. And though it took about seven minutes (and he received a number of glares from the couple behind him), he ended up finally paying and receiving a cup of coffee in his hand, as he so desperately wanted.
Ferris probably would've narrowed his eyes at the pair of brothers he joined awkwardly in the next moment had he not felt so caffeine-deprived, wanting nothing more than to just sit for a minute and enjoy some coffee. And so he took a seat at their table with a soft clearing of his throat before beginning to drink the cup of coffee he received and allowing his brown eyes to roam over the cafe silently. OOC: I'm gonna need to get off for a half hour or so Deeee!

ooc: Hehe. He's turned into a workaholic, gotta keep that dough comin'!
& Alright, Ruthers.
"Oh, look who's decided to join us," muttered Victor as Ferris arrived, as if Ferris had taken long on purpose and it was his fault he'd been left alone to order in a foreign language on his own.
Vince seemed not to be listening; his gaze was focused on something outside on the piazza absentmindedly, only turning away from it to take a sip from his coffee. He was tired, and though he knew they were supposed to be in the middle of a short vacation, he really couldn't wait until they could head back to the suite and he could sleep for hours. But his mind wasn't just on that. He'd been meaning for a while now, actually, to try to get in touch with his mother, to check on little Jackie (Vince didn't know it, but Victor held the same interest; not so much just to see if his own child was doing well, but rather if Jackie had done anything to him yet, which was nothing uncommon as little Vittorio happened to be her favourite victim). "Don't tell Julia, but I brought a mirror," Vince confessed after a few moments of silence, pulling out a tiny handheld mirror from his pocket and bringing it back to its original size with a wave of his wand. Julia had thought him silly for not just trusting his mother to take care of their little girl while they were away, but the young father couldn't help worry about her well-being and if she was getting all the things she wanted.
Victor's blue eyes widened slightly at the sight of this, his expression suddenly filling with hope. "You'd best get any calls you need to make done now before we have to meet with the girls again," he suggested, honestly a little eager for them to get in touch with their mum and see how well she was dealing with all four of her grandkids.

| Blonde&Proud Sirius Sense of humor OOC: Bahahahaha. Ferris merely rose his eyebrows at his brother-in-law as he spoke, mentioning sarcastically that someone had decided to join them. But he didn't say anything, figuring it wasn't worth it as he continued on his coffee silently as his mind drifted off to the little boy he'd had to separate from this morning. He hadn't expected it to be so difficult for his mind to stay away from his son and was finding it to be rather nervewracking to be across the continent, not knowing what was going on with his four-month old. Lost in thought, he only looked up once more when Vince spoke a couple minutes later to announce that he'd brought a mirror. The young man immediately sat up at the mention of this, not having expected to see the sort of hope come onto both Vince and Victor's faces in a similar way to how it had come to his own, suddenly realizing that they must've been thinking about their own children as much as he was thinking about Gabe. He gave a weak smile at this, glancing at the two of them before returning his gaze to the mirror and listening as Victor mentioned that they needed to get any calls out of the way before they met up with the girls.

ooc: I love how the girls are out shopping and the guys are all sulking about their kids...
Vince nodded slightly to his brother's words before tapping the two-way mirror with the tip of his wand, causing the glass to sort of liquify as a sort of ripple spread through the material as it was tapped. Eventually, this sort of liquid effect faded away and the glass returned to its solid state, showing not the reflection of Vince's tanned face, but instead that of Fervi's kitchen. Mrs. Vincenzi stepped into the scene soon enough and picked up the mirror, her eyebrows raising at the sight that greeted her. " Vincente! A cosa devo questo piacere?" said the woman from the mirror, a smile adorning her lightly tanned face.
" Ehi, mamma..." Vince greeted with a small smile. " Volevamo solo sapere come i ragazzi stavano facendo," he explained, watching as his mother now flashed him a smile that was torn between amusement and annoyance; amusement that the boys were getting in touch with her before the girls did, but annoyance that they wouldn't just trust her to take care of the kids without a problem.
The two of them exchanged words for a few more moments, until eventually Mrs. Vincenzi handed the mirror over to Jackie, who took it greedily into her little hands and squealed at the sight of her father's face from the reflection. She spoke to him; though, being a three-year-old, her words and phrases were not completely coherent and she was mostly just babbling stuff excitedly to him, some of it sounding like English and some of it sounding like Italian. The girl seemed pleasantly surprised to find her father in a mirror, and she seemed to have been doing well, she didn't look hurt or anything of the sort. However, that joy only lasted until Mrs. Vincenzi had to take the mirror back a good few minutes later, causing the three-year-old to burst into obnoxiously loud wails and throw another one of her tantrums where she kicked and screamed and broke anything she found.
"Please tell Ferris and Vianna this is nothing a simple reparo won't fix," Mrs. Vincenzi assured the boys with a slightly flustered smile as Genny in the background tried to deal with the demon child who was tearing apart her aunt's and uncle's home.
Victor looked positively horrified. "Where's Vittorio? Is he alright?" he asked. And, just like with Jackie, Mrs. Vincenzi now showed the boys little Vittorio, who happened to be sitting on the couch with a pair of squirrels standing beside him, a bunny cuddled up by one of his little feet, and a cat sitting on a pillow a short distance away, just eyeing him curiously. But Vittorio, who was also holding a bottle and absentmindedly drinking his milk when his grandmother came by, was not alone. Next to him was the much younger four-month-old Gabe, who had apparently fallen asleep after spending some time with Vittorio and had cuddled up close to Turnip's pillows. However, with the tantrum Jackie was throwing, the little one's brows were beginning to furrow and his blue eyes were slowly beginning to flutter open.
Soon, he joined in the chaos and began to cry, obviously upset that he had been so rudely awakened.
"Oh Merlin... Here, boys, why don't you talk to Genny while I try to calm the kids?" suggested Mrs. Vincenzi, giving her sons a smile before handing the mirror off to Mrs. Montgomery and disappearing from the scene to get something for Jackie and pick up Gabe.

| Blonde&Proud Sirius Sense of humor OOC: Bahahahahahaha I know, right?! Ferris watched the mirror before them all anxiously as Mrs. Vincenzi quickly arrived on the scene and spoke with her son, handing off the mirror to Vince's daughter first. The young man watched with slightly widened eyes as the little girl practically screamed into the mirror with excitement, obviously rather thrilled to see her father staring back at her. Taken aback slightly by the enthusiastic (and rather obnoxious) nature of his niece, he watched as Mrs. Vincenzi soon retrieved the mirror back only to cause horrendous wails to come out of such a little girl. Ferris's eyes widened further but he didn't have much room for thoughts on Jackie, his mind focused solely on Gabe and what he was doing, if he was happy, if this horrible noise erupting from Jackie was disturbing him.
Luckily, before he could say something himself, Victor quickly asked to see Vittorio and as soon as the mirror was turned on his nephew, the young father could see his little baby right at his cousin's side. Ferris grinned at the sight of his sleepy baby, relaxing immediately at the vision of that adorable little face so peaceful. But it was then that Jackie's incessant cries seemed to interrupt his baby's sweet slumber, starting to force his tiny eyebrows to furrow and his father to sit up anxiously in his seat, his own eyebrows furrowing at the sight of what he knew was a cry building up. And there it was, more suddenly and heartbreaking that he had ever imagined as Gabe's wails filled the air, more innocent than Jackie's more obnoxious cries. "Mum!" Ferris called out with slight stress in his tones the second his mother appeared in the mirror. "Take Gabe to his nursery or something, d-don't make him listen to that screaming!" the young man said with furrowed brows, obviously completely uncomfortable with his baby getting upset and not having his parents around to console him.
"I know, Fer, I know. Don't worry. She's got it covered," Mrs. Montgomery quickly explained to her son in a calming tone, still holding onto a wailing Jackie's hand. "Jackie!" she finally said, her voice a little tense as she turned to look at the little girl. "If you'll be a big girl and stop talking, I'll give you a cookie!" she offered with a smile. But amusingly enough, Jackie seemed to quiet down, separating herself from the duet of wails and allowing Gabe to take the solo lead.

ooc:
The Vincenzi brothers seemed rather tense, not very consoled by what they had just witnessed. Vince, of course, felt absolutely horrible that his little girl was unhappy (even though she had no reason to be so) and he wasn't there to get her a new toy or a new dress to keep her happy (amusingly enough, that was the same way he kept the little girl's mother happy - buying them things). Victor had other reasons for his worries. Vittorio seemed perfectly calm from what he saw, but there was still the possibility that Jackie might attack him some time later on; not only that, but where was Chiara? He could only assume the little girl was probably asleep elsewhere, where she wouldn't be touched by the other children as she was still, after all, the youngest of the group.
"If you get her a cookie, please make sure it's got chocolate chips, Mrs. M, those are her favourite," Vince told Mrs. Montgomery, his expression uneasy and worried, though he seemed a bit consoled when Jackie stopped crying. "And tell her I'm going to bring her back something from Rome, alright?"

| Blonde&Proud Sirius Sense of humor Mrs. Montgomery, who had grown rather familiar with the Vincenzi brothers (as she'd been at pratically all of the family gatherings and had, technically known them since they were seventeen), felt in no way out of place as she gave Vince a look through the mirror that clearly said 'You're being played by your three-year-old'. "Vince," she said in a warning (yet somehow still friendly and knowing), "I will give her the best oatmeal raisin cookie she has ever tasted and she will find a new appreciation for other flavours," she said slowly as though she was talking to a five-year-old, though her tones were far from condescending but rather like she was giving the young father advice; which she was. "And I will not inform her that you will bring her something back," she added with a nod and a small smile. "If you must bring her something back, you will surprise her with it when you return. You will not allow her to expect gifts from you at every turn," Mrs. Montgomery finished her explanation with a small, amused smile and raised eyebrows, obviously feeling as though Vince could use a bit of help in the disciplinary department.

Vince's jaw dropped slightly as Mrs. Montgomery explained to him that she would give Jackie an oatmeal raisin cookie instead of a chocolate chip one like he'd requested, informing him that she will not tell Jackie that he was bringing her something, that he was supposed to surprise her rather than have her expect presents from him all the time. Somewhere deep down - very, very deep down - Vince knew Mrs. Montgomery had a point. Part of him knew that he wasn't really doing the best job disciplining Jackie; but he just didn't have the heart to not give her what she wanted when she was staring at him with those big blue/brown eyes (I can't remember what color they were supposed to be) filling up with tears (she had a talent of making herself cry whenever it was convenient for her)... just before she'd burst into deafening wails and really, at that point, leaving the young father almost no choice.
After a moment, the young man sighed softly, seeing there was no point in arguing with Mrs. Montgomery about this through a mirror when he couldn't do anything about it. "Alright, but... if she doesn't like it, please get her the chocolate chip ones instead. And ice cream - caramel, preferably," he asked of her before leaning back into his seat with defeat on his expression.
"Thank you for your assistance, Mrs. Montgomery, we appreciate it," said Victor politely as he took the mirror from his brother, giving the woman on the other side a genuine smile. But he did appreciate this; she wasn't just caring for her grandson, after all, but for all of their kids, even though they weren't blood-related to her. His blue eyes left the mirror for a quick second there in which he glanced over at his brother, only to find him staring out the window absentmindedly, before turning back to Mrs. Montgomery and very quietly asking of her, "Can you please... keep an eye on Jackie? Make sure she doesn't get near Vittorio or Chiara? Especially Vittorio, she has a habit of pinching him and stealing his toys," the young father asked quietly. This was something he'd gone over with Vince before, but to this day Vince refused to believe his little girl was honestly capable of such horrible behaviour.

| Blonde&Proud Sirius Sense of humor Mrs. Montgomery listened as Vince gave a defeated sigh and requested that she supply his daughter with a chocolate chip cookie should Jackie really not like the oatmeal raisin, adding that caramel ice cream wouldn't be a bad idea either. She raised her eyebrows at him but could tell that the young man needed peace of mind more than anything at the moment. "Alright, I'll do my best," she promised with a small smile before being handed off to Victor. She watched with an amused smile as the young man then asked her to keep an eye on Jackie and make sure that she didn't get near his children, especially his little boy as Vince's child had a habit of pinching Vittorio and stealing his toys. "Gabe too, please!" Ferris piped up from over Victor's shoulder with a weak smile to his mother.
Mrs. Montgomery gave an encouraging nod. "I've always got one eye on her, I'll promise you that," she assured them as she glanced back to Jackie before returning her gaze to the mirror before her. "I've already deflected two attempts at a pinch, I think I've got her habits down," she promised with a soft chuckle and a warm smile. "But I'll keep an extra watch on her for you two," she added more seriously, understanding their concern.

Victor seemed relieved as Mrs. Montgomery not only assured them that she was always keeping an eye on Jackie, but that she had already twice before caught the little girl before she was able to pinch or cause little Vittorio any harm. The young man felt awful, though. His poor little boy was the most harmless creature in the world, no baby behaved as well as he did. He didn't cry most of the time, he was always quiet and a bit shy, with a sort of sweetness in his small smiles and gestures that reminded him an awful lot of the little one's mother. So he couldn't help feeling a little bad that he was all the way here while his son ran the risk of being pinched, having his bottle of milk stolen, or was simply bothered in some way or another.
"Thank you, Mrs. Montgomery," said the young man gratefully, giving Mrs. Montgomery one last smile before asking her to send some last greetings to his mother before her image disappeared from the mirror and he was left staring at his own reflection instead. With Ferris hovering somewhere by his shoulder. At this, Victor furrowed his brows disapprovingly and made a face. "Move it, Montgomery, I can feel you breathing on my neck," he said harshly, his tones completely different to the tones he used to address Mrs. Montgomery, even though she was, ironically enough, Ferris's mother.
"I think we can go check on the jewelry now," said Vince after a moment's silence, finishing off his coffee with one last sip. It had already been around an hour (let's pretend) and he and Victor still had to make sure the necklace was worthy of their little sister's admiration.

| Blonde&Proud Sirius Sense of humor OOC: I'm off for now Deee Deruperssss! Ferris jumped as Victor very suddenly snapped at him to move away, that he could feel him breathing on his neck, and he was obviously rather shocked by the sudden interruption to his thoughts. He quickly scooted away, flashing his brother-in-law a look as he cleared his throat and finished off the last bit of his coffee, listening as Vince mentioned that they could proabbly go check on the jewelry. Able to sense the sort of judgement in his tone, the young man quickly sat up just slightly as he realized they had full intentions on judging this piece of jewelry even if it was already paid for, that they could very well deem it unworthy of Vianna. And though he knew he'd still give it to her and be happy with it (if the jewelers had stayed true to his design), he also knew that their disapproving could lead to a really horrible rest of the trip. "Alright, let's go," he said with a soft sigh, getting up to his feet and gently tossing his coffee cup in the trash can, suddenly missing his wife's presence more than he thought possible all in one moment. But he wanted to tell her about what was happening with Gabe and he just...wanted her around! He missed her beautiful presence and her shining smile, he missed just having that smaller hand to hold and it was beginning to weigh on him as he exited the cafe silently.

ooc: Byeeeeee!
After disposing of their coffee cups and putting the mirror away, the Vincenzi brothers followed Ferris's lead out of the small cafe and back out into the crowded piazza. It wasn't a long walk over to the jewelry shop as it was only a short distance away, and as they entered, the same friendly assistant from their first visit was there to welcome them back. " Bentornato, siete pronti a vedere la tua collana?" she asked with a smile, something to which the brothers nodded their heads.
The girl disappeared for a short moment, returning soon enough with a small black velvet case, opening it to reveal inside of it the necklace Ferris had sketched out earlier. The white gold and pearl sparkled brightly up at the three young man, though not nearly as obnoxiously as the rest of the jewelry in the displays. It was more modest, more reserved, but still showed a great attention to detail, with a design that, obviously, could not ever be found elsewhere. It was the only one of its kind.
The Vincenzi brothers said nothing, which was a good sign, as if they had something bad to say they would have said it the second their eyes fell upon the necklace. But they had nothing negative to say this time; they actually liked the design, and it actually seemed something that would look good on their little sister, something that resembled her personality in some way - it was a fun design, though not too crazy, and it held a sort of sparkle and an elegance that was not obnoxious or condescending.
The woman behind the counter waited patiently for their opinion or to hear any complaints they might have had (though she hoped they wouldn't have any).

| Blonde&Proud Sirius Sense of humor Ferris walked silently alongside Vince and Victor until they came upon the jewelry store they'd just left a little less than an hour ago, hoping to find that they had completed his necklace without any problems or lack of materials or something that would keep him from leaving with the necklace he'd been hoping for. And as they entered the shop just to see the same woman they'd spoken with before (or rather Victor had), he gave a faint smile at the friendly expression on her face, hoping that this meant nothing had gone wrong with the creation of his design.
And then, just like that, she came back with a little velvet jewelry box, opening it only to reveal the shining white gold of the smooth swirls he'd drawn out just an hour ago, accompanied by a soft and gorgeous bright white pearl, framed on either side by two sparkling diamonds; not too big and not too flashy, but just perfectly set to give off the sweetest of shines. The young man's eyebrows rose at the immediate sight of it, surprised at how close to detail they'd managed to get to his sketch, taking in his surprise for just half a moment. And then all he could do was admire it, his heart jumping just slightly as he realized he'd get to give this to his Vianna later that day when he'd finally get to see her again, that she'd get to open this box and see for herself one of his sketches brought to life. And it was gorgeous... He just couldn't get over how much it reminded him of his wife, how sweet and beautiful it was in an understated way, how elegant it seemed yet extraordinarily unique, just like his Vianna.
Ferris beamed at it for a few more moments before turning to the two men at his side, remembering that they were there. "So...Do you like it?" he asked softly, suddenly also remembering that they were supposed to be evaluating this and deciding if it was worthy of their little sister.

Vince and Victor were a little distracted examining the piece of jewelry through slightly narrowed eyes when Ferris suddenly turned to them asking, if they liked the necklace. They seemed to snap out of thoughts then and took a moment before replying. "It's alright," said Victor. He liked it, it was true, and he thought it was perfect for his little sister, but he didn't want Ferris getting too happy.
Vince, on the other hand, was a little more honest. "I think it's great," he confessed with a bit of a grin. "Maybe you should take up jewelry design, Ferris Wheel. This really doesn't look bad," he admitted, able to imagine such a piece of jewelry laying perfectly around his little sister's neck, reflecting her personality and beauty in a way that was very much like herself.

| Blonde&Proud Sirius Sense of humor OOC: Ok! Ferris let out a soft sigh at Victor's response, glad to hear that he wasn't spitting on the jewelry he'd designed for his little sister, but obviously having expected nothing less from the man who seemed to never want to give him too much of a compliment. He didn't really mind, knowing that that was just how Victor was, and was just about to turn back and look at the necklace when Vince suddenly announced that he thought it was great. The young man's eyebrows rose at this, obviously surprised that his other brother-in-law hadn't joined in with Victor's opinion, and turned to Vince with a rather taken aback expression. He listened with a small smile growing on his face, brows furrowing in amused confusion, as Vince suggested that he take up jewelry design as it really didn't look that bad, something that he'd appreciated more than he'd expected from a man whose opinion he thought he cared nothing about. "Well...thanks," he muttered with a soft chuckle, turning back to the necklace before glancing up at the woman.
"So how much is it going to cost?" he asked Victor as he began to take out his wallet, preparing himself for something fairly steep. But that didn't matter to him; it was all about what would make Vianna happy. And as soon as he thought about giving her that necklace, all of his caution over the pricetag had completely vanished.

The woman behind the counter watched with vague interest as the three young men exchanged opinions in English before the oldest of the group turned to her after the foreigner asked him a question. "Quanto sarebbe il costo collana?" Victor asked her, something to which the girl replied in swift Italian, giving him a short list of numbers. Victor nodded his head and turned back to Ferris, "That will be sixty-nine galleons, eight sickles and twenty-one knuts, or just seventy galleons if you want to round it all off," Victor translated simply. It had certainly not come out to be cheap at all, but considering the materials used and, most importantly, the fact that it had been made from scratch, so accurately, and in such a short amount of time, they couldn't have really expected anything less than this.

| Blonde&Proud Sirius Sense of humor Ferris watched with attentive brown eyes as Victor spoke to the saleswoman in swift Italian, turning his gaze over to the man at his side only to hear the full price of his necklace. His eyebrows rose just slightly at the trailing list of money that needed to be handed over but he quickly shelled out sixty-nine galleons, eight sickles and twenty-one knuts exactly, piling the amount up on the counter between himself and the woman and flashing her a small smile as he watched her place the jewelry box in a beautiful, bigger box that said the jewelry store's name in large swirling letters. As the money was placed magically into their bank, the young man gently took the box from the woman, glancing down at his purchase with a bit of a grin on his pale face, obviously rather looking forward to giving his wife this and hoping she would like it as much as he did.
But at that moment of gathering his things and starting out of the store with Vince and Victor, he wanted nothing more than to just see his wife, to be around her beaming presence once more. He'd missed her, a lot more than he ever thought he could for such a short amount of time, and was vaguely aware that he still had a little bit of time to go before they planned to meet up again. Checking his watch, Ferris quickly realized that it was about four-thirty, that they weren't planning on meeting up with the girls until six or seven when they could meet at the fountain with the sun was down. Hoping that possibly their plans had changed, Ferris looked over to Victor with slightly raised eyebrows, "When exactly are we meeting up with them?"

Vince and Victor's eyebrows rose and their eyes widened slightly as Ferris pulled out sixty-nine galleons. What in the world was he doing carrying all that money in his wallet like it was nothing? Perhaps he'd finally learned the ways of the Sicilians and joined a mafia or something. Either way, the boys didn't question it. Instead, they watched the exchange absentmindedly before the group was free to head out of the shop and back out into the piazza crowded with tourists, children, and pigeons.
As Ferris turned to Victor and asked him when they were supposed to meet up with the girls, the young man gave a shrug, turning his gaze to Vince instead. It was sort of up to his girlfriend, after all, as she was the one holding the other two girls hostage, and if she got too consumed in her shopping, he knew Airi and Vianna wouldn't just leave her alone to meet with them.
"Oh, it could be a few more hours," Vince said casually, as if it was the most normal thing in the world that his girlfriend took hours and hours to fill up shopping bags with all different types of clothes. Of course, he'd gotten use to it over the years, and had even grown to consider a few hours to be a normal amount of time to spend just shopping.
"A few hours?" Victor repeated a bit wide-eyed. He couldn't be stuck with Montgomery and his brother for a few more hours! Especially since they didn't really have much left to torture Montgomery with. That kind of took the fun out of the whole trip (Victor, ever the big bully). "Merlin. I can't wait for the day that girl leaves you bankrupt just so I can have the pleasure of saying 'I told you so'," said the young man to his brother, who merely rolled his eyes.
"That's not going to happen," Vince said confidently.
"You seem to forget this was also the same girl that kissed Montgomery - of all people - when he and our sister were dating," Victor reminded Vince, a memory the younger of the two brothers had always opted best to ignore and forget. But he and Julia had been far from even being attracted to each other back then, so he believed that whatever she might have done at the time was none of his business. Victor had never let it go, though. It was because of her, after all, that Vianna had been so down so many years ago; well, her and Montgomery. Yeah, he was never going to let them forget that; he'd hold it against them until he was crippled and old.

| Blonde&Proud Sirius Sense of humor Ferris stopped in his tracks as Vince very casually responded that it could be a few more hours of shopping, whipping around to stare at his brother-in-law with wide brown eyes. "A few hours!?" the young man replied in unison with Victor, ignoring how amusing it was that they might choose the same response at the exact same time as his mind reveled over the idea of hours of shopping. His brows furrowed as he took his stride once more on Vince's other side, listening as Victor dreamed aloud of the day that Julia would drive his brother bankrupt and he could say 'I told you so', merely getting a confident responce from Vince that no such thing would happen.
Ferris let his mind wander off to Vianna, thinking about her wandering around with Airi and Julia; shopping of all things. He smiled faintly at the thought of this, his hands falling into his (now empty) pockets (which, just for informational purposes, had been magically enlarged to be morph into any size that you needed with no indication on the outside; he'd gathered a bit of extra money from a spot in their home before they'd left as his mind had been wandering over getting his wife something even before he arrived in Rome). He couldn't help but be a bit sympathetic for her, knowing how much Vianna didn't really make a hobby out of shopping; something he'd always appreciated about his wife. But he missed her as well, suddenly feeling an overwhelming need to have her at his side as she so often was... It was rather funny, actually, that they hadn't been separated for more than a few hours at a time in...about three or four years. He hadn't ever really thought about it before, but it was sort of amusing. The young man was snapped out of his thoughts as Victor suddenly spoke once more in response to his brother, reminding him that Julia was the same girl that had kissed Ferris when he and Vianna were first dating.
Ferris's brown eyes widened substantially at the unexpected comment of something he'd tried to block out of his mind for...eternity. "Can we..not?! Please?" the young man requested with furrowed brows and a rather disgusted expression, giving a visible sort of shudder as he reflected on Julia in general. "We've talked about this," he reminded the two, obviously uncomfortable. "It was a mistake and completely not my fault!"

Vince and Victor seemed to forget Ferris was around for a moment there as they merely shared glares, until the English boy spoke, asking they not talk about that disturbing memory, reminding them that they had talked about it already and it was a mistake and completely not his fault. "For once I agree with Ferris Wheel," said Vince, his brows furrowed slightly. He really didn't want to go over this, to have another argument with his brother about Julia. "Just drop it, Victor."
And if Victor listened to anyone, it was his family (most of the time, anyway); so he said nothing more on the subject, merely turning his gaze away to the rest of the piazza. "Alright, I'll leave it at that for now," he said before turning back to the other two. "But I really don't feel like waiting a 'few' more hours. The plan was to be with everyone, not to end up stuck with... you two."
"Julia's not carrying a mirror, there's nothing I can do about it," Vince stated simply, honestly not too eager to go disrupt the girl from her shopping spree anyway, as he knew how she could get when her shopping time was cut short. "I wanna lie down for a bit," he added with a yawn, unable to help be a little tired. But he'd been up since very early that morning after not having received much sleep the night before, and this was the only time he got some time to himself without the pressure of work or Julia or Jackie around.

| Blonde&Proud Sirius Sense of humor Ferris seemed minorly relieved as Vince agreed with him and Victor decided to drop the subject of which he wanted nothing to do with. He listened, hands stuck in his pockets while his mind began to drift to Vianna once more without realizing it, as Victor mentioned that he didn't have the impression that he'd be spending all of his time with the two of them. "Trust me, I hadn't planned on this either," he grumbled softly as he let out a sigh, obviously not too pleased with the way this day had turned out. He hadn't even been planning to come to this little get together, and now he was left wandering around the sweltering streets of Rome, fighting his way through tourists and missing the wife who was supposed to be at his side every second of the way. It was his anniversary, after all! And on top of that it felt as though he hadn't had any sleep for the past year, his body seeming to weigh twice as much as usual as he continued walking alongside the two brothers that were officially a part of his own family.
But it was then, as though some sort of spell had been put over them to make them feel the same emotions, Vince spoke up and mentioned with a yawn that he wanted the chance to lie down. Considering that he had no way to get ahold of his wife (in hindsight, not the best of plans) and they had nothing to do for the next couple hours (hopefully not any longer for poor Vianna), a nap had never sounded better. "I could go for that," he immediately admitted with a small smile, though he immediately felt bad that he was even thinking about napping when Vianna was enduring the task of shopping with Julia of all people. He felt like he needed to go hunt them down and steal his wife back, but...that seemed completely and totally improbable.

"Off to the suite it is, then," Victor announced a bit enthusiastically. It seemed he, too, wanted a chance to lie down and just relax. Besides, they all still had some unpacking to do, though it wasn't completely necessary since they were only staying for a short while, and Fervi and Julince hadn't even had a chance to check out their rooms yet.
And so, all three feeling rather tired and drowsy, the boys made their way back to the hotel and up to their suite which sat on the very last floor of the building that seemed so modern inside but so medieval outside. A bit sluggishly and unenthusiastically, they walked into the large sparkling suite looking like they'd just received some tragic news. That wasn't the case, of course, and they probably weren't even aware of their own expressions, but it was rather amusing how they seemed incapable of having a good time without their significant others around. They could only hope the girls were having better luck than them (well, Victor and Ferris had to hope that; Vince didn't. Of course Julia was having better luck and a lot more fun; how couldn't she, when she had insane loads of money to just spend as she pleased? Airi and Vianna, on the other hand...)
"Wake me up when it's time to go pick up the girls," Vince said to the other two, the tiredness clear on his features though he gave a small smile before disappearing into the hallway and then through a pair of polished wood doors that matched the floors of the suite, which led into a bedroom just as large and elegant as the rest of the suite.
