Default That Summer - V.5!

This is a continued role-play created by hazydazy012, and thanks to Gryffindoll, emmafan123 and Lily Lupin this RP, plot and a couple characters are still thriving! It's one of our longest running RPs in a LONG time, if not the longest. So congrats to you girls for doing such a good job at keeping the thread(s) active, and enjoy.

This is version (5) FIVE, the first four threads have reached their post limits. From the original thread:

How are the students supposed to learn when they can't try out the new spells? Sure, most were devestated, (Especially the 7th years! How are they supposed to finish their last year?!) but of course, some were estatic too! Who doesn't want to have a longer summer vacation? So, most students go home in high spirits TWO months before Hogwarts was officially supposed to be let out for summer break. Only one week into their luxuriously long holiday, every student recieves this letter:

"It is mandatory for any students who want to complete their year to attend "La Bacchetta Magica", a summer learning camp for wizards located in a small getaway near Tuscany. You will be finishing up the studies that were unfinished at Hogwarts. Please bring your wand and other necessary items for regular classes."

Fantastic. Some are angry, but most are excited! I mean, it's called "The Magic Wand" in Italian, for goodness sakes. It's gotta be fun. And guess what?! It is! Everyone is having a great time with the mix of school and just plain summer camp fun! How will the Divinations in the morning and campfires at night affect the students? You decide!

Please join! There will need to be a few professors/camp counselors! Even number of boys and girls, please. Post a bio with a picture, thanks!

(P.S. I looked up "La Bacchetta Magica" and it told me "The Magic Wand" but it was only an online translator. If I'm wrong, then whoops! Heehee)

Ferris's brown eyes pleaded with Vianna as she was being pulled away, listening as she promised to be back soon. He returned the peck she placed on his lips lovingly, desperately wanting to just keep her there and forget about the rest of the group, reluctantly releasing her hand as he realized she'd be pulled in two if he didn't. "Soon," he pleaded softly as he flashed her a weak, obviously unhappy, smile before reluctantly allowing Julia to pull his wife away from him and turning his brown eyes to the pair of brothers before him. Letting out a gulp as he realized he'd be spending the entire afternoon with the Vincenzi brothers, he listened as Vince assured him Vianna wouldn't forget to get him a couple dresses while she was out, Victor reminding him that Julia would get him some shoes to go with his new wardrobe. His brows furrowed slightly, obviously not amused but unable to say anything in particular that wouldn't sound entirely rude.

What had he gotten himself into?! It was his anniversary and here he was, being separated from his wife just to spend the day with the two guys who had successfully made the last few months of his seventeenth year into a battle over if he could be near their little sister or not. Granted, they'd grown better over the years, obviously, but they still were far from friends and hardly anywhere near friends.

Vince's eyebrows rose as Ferris didn't even reply to his and Victor's teasing. "He ignores us," he announced to his brother, as if they were conducting some type of experiment and Ferris was their guinea pig, someone to take notes on. But then he gave a more genuine smile, faintly amused by the situation the three boys were now finding themselves stuck in. "So, anyone have any preference on where we should go? We're girl-free for the next few hours, we should make the best of it."

"Well I don't know about you two, but that idea of going through the Villa Borghese gardens sounded great until now," said Victor, his brows furrowed as he made a bit of a face at the idea of strolling through beautiful gardens in a park with two other guys. It just sounded... lame.

Vianna glanced around her surroundings for a moment as Julia led her through the crowds and toward the nearest boutique. "Um... We're not... We're not going to take very long, are we?" Vianna asked the girl, honestly not wanting to spend any more than just a few minutes in these boutiques. This almost reminded her of the days her mother made her go shopping with her; it was always the most boring experiences the girl had ever gone through. "I mean, we wouldn't want to leave the guys alone too long..." added Vianna, also a little worried of what her brothers might do to Ferris while she was gone. She was sure the scenes from their teenage years wouldn't repeat (like that horrible fistfight Vince and Ferris had been involved in during their first week on the run from the kidnappers), but... still. She knew that even if her brothers didn't hex the young man, they would still find some way to keep him from being as comfortable as he could be.

OOC: I'm off for now Deee Derupersss! I'll see you tomorrow!!!!

Ferris gave a soft sigh and a weak smile as he took a couple more steps over to Vince and Victor's side, listening as Vince noted that he hadn't said anything in return to their prompts. But he didn't reply to that either, obviously not very happy with the way that this afternoon had turned out, and listened as Victor asked where they wanted to go. Something told him that the Vincenzi brothers didn't necessarily want to accompany him to the bookstores he'd been hoping for and so he didn't respond, assuming that he'd just let them decide. That was, until an idea hit him that he'd been thinking about momentarily earlier that morning. It was their anniversary afterall, and though he rarely got Vianna anything too flashy, he sort of had been thinking about finding her something nice for their fourth anniversary, should the opportunity arise. And since this was the only part of the day where Vianna wasn't around (unfortunately), it wasn't the worst idea to him to look around for a place to buy her something she might really like.

"Actually..." he started thoughtfully, unsure if they would even be up for this. "It's...sort of me and Vianna's anniversary today," he mentioned with a weak chuckle, scratching the back of his neck as he looked over at them. "Do you think...you might know where..I dunno, a jewelry store or something is?" he asked them with raised eyebrows, knowing that Vianna wasn't one to pride herself on the jewels she wore but also thinking that perhaps she might like something pretty. "We don't have to...but, I dunno, I thought she might like something today since I nearly forgot this morning that it was April 15th..." he gave a weak smile. "And who knows her better than us?"

Julia beamed her cheesy smile at Vianna as they made their way through the crowds alongside Airi, having released her hand in order to make a nice model walk over all of the cobblestones, making it difficult for the others to keep up. She listened with a soft chuckle as Vianna asked if this would take too long, that they didn't want to leave the boys alone too long. "Of course not!" she replied as she flipped her hair over her shoulder once more, starting into the nearest fluffy-pink boutique. "It should only take a few hours..." she explained as though this was a short amount of time (which with her shopping schedule, probably was), being completely serious.

ooc: Byeeeeeee, Rutherssss!

Vince and Victor listened rather impatiently as Ferris began to explain something, his body language a bit hesitant as he explained that it was his and Vianna's anniversary that day. This piece of information got the brothers' dark eyebrows to raise slightly in surprise, as they obviously weren't keeping up with Fervi's anniversary date. They listened as the young man then began to suggest the idea of going to a jewelry store to get their little sister something nice. Ferris almost had Vince and Victor on his side at that moment, when, suddenly, he added that he'd nearly forgotten their anniversary that morning.

It was like a needle just scratched on a record. "You what?!" asked Vince. "Hey-- Ferris Wheel, we didn't let you marry our little sister and join the family just so you could go and forget stuff like that!" said the young man, actually taking offense with this. But to him, it was like… Ferris should keep a Vianna shrine and worship the day he met her and married her or something. Clearly, to this day, the brothers still felt like their little sister was too good for the 'English boy' she ended up with, so when Ferris made the mistake of nearly forgetting their anniversary… the boys took it as if he didn't care about his marriage with their little sister, as if he didn't appreciate them finally giving him a chance and accepting him into the family.

"Of course he'd forget. Now that there's a child involved, it's not like Vianna can just get up and leave," said Victor, his arms crossing. "He has no reason to keep up the act anymore, he can forget all the important dates he wants."

Vince shook his head slightly. "Merlin… and she looked so happy today. I would've never guessed… poor Vi's probably just trying not to ruin the trip for us by showing how she really feels," Vince said dramatically, as if their little sister was silently suffering and in deep sorrow because her husband had forgotten their anniversary.

Vince and Victor glared at the pale boy standing before them now, looking disapproving, unfriendly, and even a bit disgusted by his behaviour. Of course, this was a very dramatic reaction, but what could you expect from two big bully brothers who expected nothing less than a royalty treatment for their little sister from the husband they still didn't see as completely worthy of her?

"Alright," said Victor suddenly with a sigh, after he and Vince had taken a long moment to just glare at Ferris mercilessly. "We'll help you find something for her," he continued, "And you better make damn sure this is the best anniversary my little sister's ever had, Montgomery, or you're not making it out of this trip alive," he warned Ferris, his blue eyes colder than ever, nearly setting the poor boy on fire just with their merciless glare. It was like the boys had just returned to Sicilian mafia boss mode.

Meanwhile, back in girls' day world…
Vianna couldn't help but smile as Julia assured her that they weren't going to take long at all, something which sent a wave of relief to wash over the girl. She was almost running behind Julia, having difficulty keeping up with the taller girl's catwalk. But then, just as they entered the most girly boutique she had ever come upon, Julia explained that they would only be taking a few hours. "A few… hours?!" Vianna repeated, crystal blue eyes wide as saucers on her face. "What?!" That wasn't an accurate short-time estimate at all! Vianna had been hoping for something along the lines of 'half an hour' or even a whole hour at most, but… a few hours!? The bleached blonde girl might as well have told her they would be staying there for the rest of eternity!

"Uh…" Oh Merlin. How was she going to sneak out of this without being completely rude? The last thing Vianna wanted was to upset her brother's girlfriend, she knew that would only, in turn, end up damaging her own relationship with Vince. But… how was she going to get out of this?! "Oh, y'know… I mean, I don't really need any clothes right now," Vianna started with a small smile, pretty much running after Julia all around the boutique as she tried to keep up with the other fast-paced girl. "How about… how about I wait for you outside? I wouldn't want to disturb you, I'm sure dress-shopping must take a lot of… concentration and thought, I don't want to interrupt you from the… art of it," said Vianna, pretty much just making up nonsense as she went along, her brows furrowing slightly to herself as she spoke. The art of dress-shopping? Concentration and thought?! What am I saying?!

Ferris's brown eyes widened immediately as he realized Vince and Victor had taken offense to the fact that he'd nearly forgotten about his anniversary that morning, listening as Vince reminded him that they hadn't let him join their family just so he could forget stuff like that. "Wh-- No, I didn't...!" he spluttered out in surprise, obviously not having expected this reaction. But he was cut off once more as Victor agreed with his brother, suggesting that it was only natural for Ferris to forget as there was a baby around now and Vianna couldn't leave him; that he'd dropped the act and didn't bother to remember anything now that he had her for good. His brows furrowed as he grew completely shocked over their words, speaking as though he hadn't spent the last seven years loving their little sister more than life itself! "The act!?" he repeated, arms unfolding as his expression filled with disbelief and he listened to Vince recall on how happy Vianna had looked, suggesting that she must've been hiding her feelings so as not to ruin the trip.

"Look, I didn't just forget about it e-entirely," the young man tried to defend himself, brows furrowing as he took a step back from them. "I just...I-I've been busy and she nearly forgot too!" But it was no use as just moments later the two brothers were staring at him in that manner that brought him back to his teenage years, when everything he did with Vianna was wrong and disapproved of completely and totally. But this time, they were just disapproving of him. And though he knew that their statements were completely out of reality...it still sort of made him feel a bit guilty, realizing that perhaps forgetting something like this even for half a second made him into a piece of scum.

He listened with hesitant brown eyes filled with confusion and slight anger as Victor decided that they would help him find something for Vianna. Figuring that they were done, the young man was about to speak only to be cut off once more by Victor's cold voice, harshly informing Ferris that he had to make sure this was the best anniversary Vianna had ever had or he wouldn't make it out of the trip alive. And though Ferris knew this was completely ridiculous, knowing that he would do his best to make Vianna as happy as he could no matter what warnings Victor gave him, he couldn't help but be just slightly intimidated by that glare. After what could've been an eternity of merely shrinking beneath their stares, he gave a nod before starting in the direction of some of the shops with them. "For the record, you both have a horribly warped perception of my relationship with your sister," he grumbled as he walked between the young men that were quickly resembling boulders that might crush him any second.

Julia seemed not to notice as Vianna's blue eyes grew wider at her time estimate, quickly beginning her search through the racks as the shorter girl following repeated her previous statement. "Yeah, it really won't be that long. It'll pass by like that," she promised, snapping her fingers to accentuate her point before flashing the Italian girl a large smile and returning to the racks. Now examining a sparkly pink dress, she listened as Vianna spoke while throwing the dress back on the rack and starting to rifle through the rest with her tanned fingers. All of her words sounded like nonsense to Julia, completely missing that the girl at her side wanted an easy out of this whole shopping experience and simply chalking up her made-up pleas to excitement. "Oh Vianna, don't be silly!" she said with a giggle, shaking her head at the suggestion of her standing outside. "I want your opinion on everything and I want to make you try some stuff on!" She then gasped, pulling out a horrendously orange, glittering dress to put in front of Vianna's face. "This," she announced dramatically. "You need to try this on!"

Vince and Victor were pleased to see their methods seemed to be working and were even a bit glad to be going on this little anniversary-gift-shopping trip, even if it wasn't their original plan when they had first decided to come to Rome. But they wanted their little sister happy (even though their idea of happiness for Vianna was different than that of the girl herself), and if that meant they had to accompany her shameful nearly-forgotten-the-anniversary husband to get her something, then they were left with no other choice but to go along with it.

As Ferris then spoke, mentioning that the two young men had a 'horribly warped perception' of his relationship with their sister, Vince's eyebrows rose slightly. "And what's that supposed to mean, Ferris Wheel?" he asked. Victor merely ignored the comment, instead beginning to lead the group over to the nearest jewelry store, something which Rome certainly did not lack of.

Vianna gave a sigh of defeat as Julia ignored her undercover pleas and shared she wanted her to give her opinion and try some stuff on. The girl managed a weak smile at this, obviously not thrilled with the idea. "Sure…" she muttered, defeat evident on her features as she watched Julia go through a number of dresses. This was going to be torturous.
And then, just when the poor girl thought this couldn't get any worse, Julia pulled out the most hideous thing Vianna had ever set eyes on and suggested to the girl that she try it on. Was this a joke?! Was Julia purposely just trying to make a clown out of her?! "Oh, uh… me? That-- that dress?" she asked, blue eyes wide and disbelieving before she shook her head slightly with a weak chuckle. "I--I don't think I'd look good in that, Julia; glitter never really suited me," she muttered, trying her best to get out of wearing that horrible thing without being too rude or mean.

"That's supposed to mean," Ferris began to answer Vince's question, turning to the young man at his side with slightly raised eyebrows. "That you two appear to think that I have no emotions for her, that she's just...I dunno, someone I tricked into marrying me because she was the first girl I came across or something!" he complained in a grumble as his hands found his pockets as they often did. "You don't seem to understand that I've spent the last seven years of my life adoring your little sister and working extremely hard to make sure that she's happy," he finished his explanation, expression rather agitated. This was something he might've normally not bothered to explain to the two men at his side, but they'd rather annoyed him when accusing him of not caring about his anniversary.

Julia, once more oblivious to any sort of subtle signs, merely shook her head as Vianna tried to politely decline the offer of the orange dress, suggesting that glitter had never really suited her. "Oh, don't be silly!" she complained with a giggle, thrusting the dress into Vianna's arms. "Glitter looks good on everyone," she reminded her with a knowing grin, as though this was something Vianna had practically been begging to hear. "Now shoo! Go try it on!" she urged, flapping her fingers at her so as to shoo her in the direction of the dressing rooms.

OOC: Were you thinking that maybe we should skip the girls part of the day? Just because I feel like it might get a little bit repetitive to RP out all of Julia's forcing of Vianna trying stuff on. If you don't agree, we totally can! But I was just thinking that it might be better just to RP out the boys and summarize the girls' when they all meet up again?

ooc: That sounds good.

As Ferris began, explaining what his words were supposed to mean, how he believed the brothers saw his relationship with Vianna, Vince nodded his head. It seemed accurate enough. Hopeless bloke who fed their sister a love potion to trick her into marrying him because she was the first girl to even remember his name? Yeah, that sounded about right.
But then Ferrs continued, explaining that he had actually spent the last seven years of his life adoring their little sister and working hard to make sure she was happy. Vince merely rolled his eyes. "That's a very lovely speech, Ferris Wheel, but from our point of view, things don't look as nice and sweet as you're trying to put 'em," he said simply. "Taking her away to England, where she has no family, and making her work two jobs doesn't necessarily sound like a fairytale ending to me," he said, as if Ferris had kidnapped their little sister and forced her to work two jobs, when in reality Vianna was quite happy to be in England and had made it her own personal choice to help Ferris at the bookstore, therefore keeping two jobs. But forget the idea of even trying to explain that to the stubborn Vincenzi brothers; to them, their little sister would always be the princess from a fairytale and Ferris the old toad that tricked her into thinking he was prince charming.
But that was now that they were upset. Deep down, the two young men knew well that Ferris did, indeed, love their little sister; but Ferris had made a wrong move, given them a motive to bring in the bullying, and so their points of view seemed to have changed drastically, to return to that negative light in which they had always seen him in when they were younger.

Ferris's jaw fell just slightly as Vince pointed out that his story was lovely, listening as he explained that things didn't look so nice from their point of view as he had taken her away to England where she didn't have any family and made her take on two jobs which didn't sound anything like a fairytale. "It's not supposed to sound like a fairytale!" the young man replied in a grumble, rolling his eyes just slightly as brows furrowed. "She likes being in England, actually, and she wanted to work at the bookstore with me!" he reminded Vince, though he seemed to know that his words weren't worth it, quickly realizing that the man at his side had no desire to listen to any reason and had his own ideas on the Fervi household. And so Ferris turned to silence, trying to take this with a grain of salt so as to get Vianna something nice for their anniversary.

Vince, of course, didn't believe Ferris's words or even tried paying them much attention. His mind was, obviously, set on believing what he wanted to believe; now that he was upset with Ferris, anyway.
The young man was distracted from his mission on making Ferris miserable, though, as Victor led them into a large jewelry shop from which precious stones sparkled through their glass displays. Knowing Vianna, Victor was actually having a bit of difficulty with the idea of finding her something here; she was just... well, Vianna wasn't really one to wear much jewelry at all. "Well. We brought you here. Good luck, Montgomery," said Victor simply, now leaving Ferris to his fate as he took a step back and allowed the Englishman to admire all the fancy (and ridiculously expensive; they were in Rome, of all places) jewelry.

For once, Vince actually disagreed. "No, no, we can't leave Ferris Wheel to choose alone. He'll probably pick something hideous," he said, shaking his head slightly. "We want Vi to be happy, not frightened; and I don't trust Ferris Wheel's judgement," he explained simply.

Ferris entered the jewelry shop with wide brown eyes, suddenly feeling very insignificant in his jeans and argyle as he walked towards the many display cases sparkling with beautiful jewels. He gulped slightly to himself, obviously not very familiar with this sort of atmosphere, and was just allowing his eyes to read the price tags (something which got his heart to nearly stop for some of the more ridiculous of numbers) when Victor took a step back and wished him good luck. "Wh-What?" he said with raised eyebrows, quickly turning towards them with a startled expression. They weren't just going to leave him alone to try and find something here were they!? But his bewildered expression quickly turned into a narrow-eyed look as Vince decided that they couldn't leave him alone to choose as he would 'probably pick something hidious' and they didn't want Vianna to be frightened rather than happy. "It wouldn't be hideous!" he complained with furrowed brows but quickly shut up as he realized that he'd be getting help (no matter how insulting it was). The problem now was that nothing here seemed to remind him of Vianna; nothing caught his eye. Vianna had rarely been one for pretty jewelry and expensive accessories, he knew that, but...she was a girl. And she had to like some sort of jewelry!...right? Either way, Ferris was hoping that perhaps he could find something for her here that she would like, that maybe he could find her a piece of jewelry that she'd actually want to wear and it would remind her of him.

Victor tried his best to hide his amusement over Ferris's bewildered expression and Vince's insults. This was no time to be amused, he was supposed to be the scary big brother right now. "Fine," he decided a little reluctantly when his brother suggested they help Ferris to keep Vianna from having a heart attack. "But keep in mind, Montgomery, we're not doing this for you. We're doing it for Vianna's sake," he reminded the paler young man as he approached the glass displays filled with precious gems and expensive stones. Everything was beautiful, there was no denying that, but... it didn't seem very Vianna-like to him. Especially if it was going to be an anniversary present; he felt Ferris had to do more than just go out and buy something; his little sister deserved to have some thought put into her gift.

"Oooh, what about that one?" Vince suggested, pointing down at a platinum bracelet covered almost entirely in tiny, perfectly and uniformly cut diamonds that sparkled with pride up at the young men.

Victor merely furrowed his brows disapprovingly. "We're shopping for Vianna, Vince, not Julia," he replied simply, well aware that something so extravagant was more like Julia's style than Vianna's. "I suggest you get something custom-made, Montgomery," said Victor with a sigh after a couple more moments of looking around the the jewels. "The jewelers here work fast, and it wouldn't take them longer than an hour to prepare something from scratch, depending on what you want," he said.

Ferris gave a small, appreciative nod as Victor agreed to help him, ignoring the comment about doing this for Vianna's sake as he already knew there was no use in fighting them at the moment. He turned his attention to the many display cases before them, settling his eyes on a number of jewelry pieces that seemed extraordinarily far from what he could see Vianna wearing. Everything was big and sparkling and a little gaudy, almost pretentiously staring back at the young man through the glass casing they were enclosed in. Nothing looked like Vianna, nothing seemed good enough for her despite the large price tags that suggested each piece was good enough for a queen. He glanced over at what Vince pointed out but immediately made a bit of a face to himself, obviously not very impressed by the bracelet dripping with diamonds. No, none of this was right. Nothing here suited her and it was beginning to make the young man rather nervous as he'd already been guilted into thinking he was a bit of a bad husband. But Vince and Victor were awfully convincing with their cold blue eyes, and he couldn't help but think of himself a little badly as he stared at the precious jewels that couldn't have been farther from his wife's taste.

He looked up as Victor suggested that he get something custom-made for Vianna, that the jewelers worked fast and it wouldn't take them any longer than an hour to prepare something from scratch. Ferris, naively not really knowing what custom-made entailed, turned to Victor with slightly furrowed brows. "Custom-made? What do you mean?" he asked, feeling rather thick as he stood there.

Victor's stony expression faltered for a moment there, revealing a bit of disbelief in it before it returned to its cold, expressionless state. "What am I talking in, Italian?" he asked the young man at his side a little impatiently, disbelieving that Ferris was honestly asking him what it meant to get a piece of jewelry custom-made. He paused for a moment, seeing that scolding Ferris and trying to make him feel dumb wasn't really going to answer the foreigner's question, and sighed. "You decide what, exactly, you want to get her - you choose the metals, the gems, everything that will go into the piece of jewelry you want made. Just explain to them what you want, or... sketch something out," Victor suggested, remembering vaguely that Ferris supposedly possessed some artistic talent. "If it's nothing too horribly complicated, they should be able to do it for you. Of course, it'll cost more than just getting something from the displays, but... money shouldn't be a problem if you're trying to show our little sister you care, should it?" he finished with a smile that was far from warm and friendly, but rather almost taunting and threatening, as were most of Victor's gestures.

Ferris was rather taken aback at Victor's response, taking a bit of a step away from the young man as he impatiently replied to him before deciding that apparently explaining would be a better option then making him feel lower than dirt. He listened as he explained that getting a piece of jewelry custom made meant that you chose every little bit of what you wanted and then gave it to the jewelers through explanation or sketch. His eyebrows rose at this, realizing that perhaps he might be able to come up with something that wouldn't have to be so pretentious and gaudy like everything in the store; that maybe he could make something more personal and Vianna-like for his wife. But he was distracted from these thoughts as Victor added that this would cost a good deal more than something off the displays, but money shouldn't have been the issue if he was trying to show their little sister that he cared. "Vianna already knows that I care," the young man snapped back before falling into his own thoughts reluctantly, debating on what he wanted to do. It wasn't so much that money was an issue... Well, obviously he couldn't afford something too terribly expensive, but he had a bit of wiggle room. He and Vianna definitely weren't rich, but they lived more comfortably than most other people due to the bookstore's extra income for them. He just wanted to be sure that she actually wanted a piece of jewelry, that she'd like it.

But she deserved something pretty. He knew that she never asked for nice things or expected them even, that she never really expressed much interest before. But the young man knew that his wife would appreciate that he put some thought into it, that he wanted to get her something nice and worth having, something she could wear and think of him with. And as he thought, something caught his eye from his peripheral vision; a strand of beautiful white pearls, set in a perfect row to be worn as a necklace. But it wasn't so much that he wanted this necklace in particular, it just struck an idea within the young man.
So Ferris quickly grabbed a piece of paper from the notepad resting on one of the counters, pulling a small pencil out of his pocket and gently beginning to scribble on his paper.

Victor rolled his eyes as Ferris merely snapped at him, but said nothing as the young man then began to distract himself with a notepad. He could only assume he had taken his advice and had decided to sketch something out for the jewelers to bring to life through their own form of art, and Victor took that moment to wander off deeper into the shop, to absentmindedly examine the jewels that had been put on display for tourists to be awed by.

A young woman with brown hair and equally brown eyes approached the boy sketching on the notepad then, eyeing his hand from her side of the counter as it worked on the paper curiously before throwing on a smile and speaking, "Hai bisogno di aiuto, signore?" she asked politely.

Ferris took a long moment to realize he was being spoken to, assuming that everyone on the planet knew he didn't speak Italian and therefore this woman must've been addressing someone else. It wasn't until a moment later when he heard no equally Italian response that he looked up with an innocent, rather bewildered expression and gave a weak smile. "Uh..." he started with a soft chuckle. "I-I don't...speak Italian?" he tried softly, hoping that the woman spoke some form of English or even French. He could do French! But he knew the odds of that were slim.

The woman behind the counter rose her dark eyebrows slightly at the pale boy before her as he explained to her, in English, that he didn't speak Italian. Dealing with so many English-speaking tourists on a daily basis, the young woman was able to understand his words, but she wasn't really fluent on English so she wasn't able to give him a proper response.

That was when Vince returned to the scene, jaw hanging and blue eyes wide. "What the bloody hell are you doing flirting with this girl?!" he asked of Ferris, looking completely blown away that Ferris would seriously have the audacity to go and flirt with some random Italian girl with his two brothers-in-law around when he was supposed to be shopping for a gift for their little sister, his wife.

The girl looked completely startled by Vince's sudden arrival, and was able to understand vaguely what Vince was asking of Ferris. "Oh! No, no, hon ha fatto nulla di male!" she said with a slightly flustered smile, shaking her head.

"See? Now you scared her."

"What're you two girls going on about now?" asked Victor, ironically enough referring to Vince and Ferris when he said 'girls'. But before the other two could reply, the girl behind the counter was addressing him in Italian, explaining that all she'd been doing was asking Ferris if he needed any help (she didn't want anyone making complaints about her performance at work, as it could cost her her job). Victor replied in swift Italian, and the two exchanged a few more words, Victor explaining to the girl what they were there for, before the young man returned his attention to Ferris. "Thought of anything yet, Montgomery?"

Ferris was just about to give up hope on the clearly Italian employee when Vince suddenly bursted out behind him, asking what he was doing flirting with this girl. The poor boy's head nearly popped out of his head at this, jumping at the sudden sound of his brother-in-law's booming voice, accusing him of flirting of all things. "Flirting!?" he repeated, spluttering this out as his brows furowed and an expression of pure confusion and worry crossed his features. He'd never ever been accused of flirting with another girl before and he certainly didn't like it, knowing for a fact that he had barely said two words to the girl. "I-I wasn't flirting!" he scowled back at Vince before being cut off by Italian filling the air, the employee apparently attempting to clear the matter up. And then, before Ferris could say anything else, Victor had stepped in to converse with the woman behind the counter, getting to the bottom of what had happened (or so Ferris could only hope).

It was then that Victor asked if he'd thought of anything and he gave a rather startled nod, gently glancing at his piece of paper. "Yeah, I've got something..."

OOC: I cut it off there because I have to go for like half an hour but feel free to respond and then I'll just describe the jewelry in my next post!

ooc: Okay

Vince still didn't look convinced, and he would've voiced his accusations to Victor had the slightly older young man not been distracted interrogating Ferris instead, asking him if he had thought of anything yet. Vince, of course, had no idea what they were talking about, since he had been distracted wandering around the shop when the other two had been talking about getting Vianna custom-made jewelry.

As Ferris spoke, explaining to him that he had thought of something, Victor's eyebrow rose slightly. "Well, do you need me to write you an invitation, Montgomery?" he asked a little impatiently. "We don't have all day. Give the girl the sketch and just tell me what materials you want to be used, I'll translate," he instructed.

Ferris was just picking up his sheet of paper once more as Victor suddenly spoke impatiently, reminding him that they didn't have all day to just stand there and informing him that he'd translate the materials and things he wanted. Shooting him a look, he paused before turning the page over to display his sketch to both Victor and the woman behind the counter. It very clearly displayed a simple, glittering chain that held a silver pendant of small swirls as a background for a beautifully round pearl in the very center, decorated on either side by a very small diamond. "I just want a nice silver pendant in this shape..." the young man started hesitantly, hoping they'd be able to do it. "W-With a pearl just like one of those..." he pointed to one of the beautiful pearls of varying sizes, this one medium-sized, sitting in the display case. "A-And two small diamonds. One on each side." Ferris looked from his sketch over to Victor, and then to the saleswoman with slightly raised eyebrows, hoping that this wasn't too out of reach. It'd taken him just ten minutes or so to come up with the design, finding that it had come surprisingly easy to him to sketch out what he wanted for his wife. But it made it easier to see all of the things he didn't want right before his eyes, and the idea of what he wanted had come fairly quickly.

OOC: Here's the necklace since I'm sucking at describing it : yfrog.com/ndnecklacej

ooc: Yay a visual! It's purrtyy.

As Ferris flipped the page over and revealed his sketch to the others surrounding him, the woman behind the counter smiled politely and scanned the drawing with her brown eyes, already thinking on a time estimate she could give the three young men who were surely going to ask to have this made from scratch by one of the jewelers. As Ferris spoke in English, explaining what he wanted, the woman followed his gaze over to the pearls he pointed out, all the while listening as Victor translated Ferris's words to Italian for her to understand.

"Possiamo farlo," the girl confirmed with a smile and a nod, her gaze returning to the three young men. "Si deve solo un'ora, forse meno." She paused for a moment and Victor nodded his head before she then turned to Ferris and addressed him directly, holding out a hand, "Posso avere il disegno?" she asked politely.

Harshly, Victor simply translated, "Give her the drawing, Montgomery."

OOC: Bahahaha I was like...this whole explaining thing isn't working out for me.. I thought it was really pretty too!

Ferris watched as the woman behind the counter spoke in Italian, suddenly thrusting a hand out to him and obviously asking him something that he couldn't understand. He'd just turned to Victor for an explanation when he explained that the woman needed the drawing, something that got his eyebrows to raise as he realized how obvious this would've been had he thought about it for a second. He quickly handed over the sketch he'd done just minutes before, deciding not to smile at the woman in case Vince decided this was the equivalent to proposing to her. "So...how much is it going to be? How long will it take? Can they even do it?"

ooc: No worries, describing jewelry is pretty hard.

"Relax," said Victor as Ferris suddenly bombarded him with questions, giving a brief nod and a small smile to the woman as she said a few more words in Italian before disappearing from sight with Ferris's drawing. "She said it could take an hour, perhaps even less, as it's not too terribly complex," explained the young man as he turned back to Ferris. "As for prices, they'll tell us once it's finished," he added.

"For your sake, I hope Vianna likes that necklace, Ferris Wheel," said Vince, who was obviously still upset with Ferris for 'flirting' with the assistant from just a moment ago while he was still married to his little sister.

OOC: Tell me about it...

Ferris listened as Victor finally explained to him that it could take an hour, maybe less because it wasn't all that complex and they'd know the price after it was done. "Alright..." he muttered softly, running a hand through his curls before letting out a soft sigh. He was just about to suggest heading outside when Vince spoke, warning him that Vianna had better like the necklace, for his own sake, obviously still very displeased with him. "I wasn't flirting Vince!" the young man snapped back with a roll of his eyes, knowing that his brother-in-law was still holding that against him. Flirting? How could he ever be flirting with anyone but Vianna? Let alone flirting at all!? He'd never flirted a day in his life...
