Default That Summer - V.5!

This is a continued role-play created by hazydazy012, and thanks to Gryffindoll, emmafan123 and Lily Lupin this RP, plot and a couple characters are still thriving! It's one of our longest running RPs in a LONG time, if not the longest. So congrats to you girls for doing such a good job at keeping the thread(s) active, and enjoy.

This is version (5) FIVE, the first four threads have reached their post limits. From the original thread:

One year at Hogwarts a mysterious spell was cast that not even the professors can undo. You wouldn't be able to see a difference at Hogwarts, just looking at the school, but it actually made magic impossible! Not a single person or creature could cast a spell while in the school. How are the students supposed to learn when they can't try out the new spells? Sure, most were devestated, (Especially the 7th years! How are they supposed to finish their last year?!) but of course, some were estatic too! Who doesn't want to have a longer summer vacation? So, most students go home in high spirits TWO months before Hogwarts was officially supposed to be let out for summer break. Only one week into their luxuriously long holiday, every student recieves this letter:

"It is mandatory for any students who want to complete their year to attend "La Bacchetta Magica", a summer learning camp for wizards located in a small getaway near Tuscany. You will be finishing up the studies that were unfinished at Hogwarts. Please bring your wand and other necessary items for regular classes."

Fantastic. Some are angry, but most are excited! I mean, it's called "The Magic Wand" in Italian, for goodness sakes. It's gotta be fun. And guess what?! It is! Everyone is having a great time with the mix of school and just plain summer camp fun! How will the Divinations in the morning and campfires at night affect the students? You decide!

Please join! There will need to be a few professors/camp counselors! Even number of boys and girls, please. Post a bio with a picture, thanks!

(P.S. I looked up "La Bacchetta Magica" and it told me "The Magic Wand" but it was only an online translator. If I'm wrong, then whoops! Heehee)

Vianna's jaw dropped and she gasped as Ferris shared he didn't know the answer to her question any more than little Gabe did, mock offense and surprise on her features; though she was only teasing and wasn't really bothered by this, as she knew this year differed greatly from the last three due to the chaos they'd been living in these past few months due to little Gabe's arrival. "Today..." Vianna started slowly, the smile returning to her cheery expression, "Marks four whole years since one Mr. Ferris Montgomery and one Ms. Vianna Vincenzi said 'I do'," the girl explained, her smile widening as she explained this, remembering this one specific moment from their wedding in her mind; the moment when they said 'I do'. She could still clearly remember the butterflies fluttering in her stomach, the nerves and burst of joy she felt both at the same time, the way everything seemed so perfect and fairytale-like. It was one of the most amazing moments in her life, and the memory was etched so freshly in her mind, as if it had all just happened the day before.

Ferris watched with curious brown eyes as Vianna's jaw dropped, figuring she was just teasing him about something trivial, something that he couldn't really be blamed for not remembering, and gave a bit of a faint smile as amusement snuck onto his features. But then she continued, her sweet voice filling the air and announcing that this day marked the fourth anniversary of the day that Mr. Ferris Montgomery and Ms. Vianna Vincenzi said 'I do'...and he froze. His whole body just stopped moving for a long moment as he suddenly felt thousands of heavy bricks fall into the pit of his stomach, resting on every square inch of the poor boy who's expression had gone white.

It was their anniversary.

Anniversary.

It was the very day that they had gotten married just four years ago and he...he forgot. Like it was just another day on the calendar, like it wasn't any more important than the 14th or 16th! And it was then, all in that one moment, that Ferris realized how distracted he'd been for the past few months, how he legitimately hadn't paid attention to anything besides Gabe and his work and getting sleep whenever he could. And as rewarding and wonderful as it was to cater to Gabe and be there for his baby boy...he never, never in a thousand years would've ever thought that he could possibly just let it slip his mind that it was the anniversary of the day he married the best person in his life. "Oh Vi..." the young man let out in a breath, brows furrowed and chocolate brown eyes clouded with worry and guilt, disbelief written in every one of his features as his mind reeled over how this could've happened, how he could've just not remembered. "I'm sorry..."

Vianna gave a soft chuckle as Ferris apologized for letting their anniversary slip his mind, shaking her head slightly at him. "It's okay, Professor, I understand," she said softly, knowing well the boy hadn't forgotten because he didn't care or anything like that; she knew he had been busy, she had been busy too after all, and knew it had become rather easy to become distracted these past few months. She leaned in toward the young man and pecked his lips gently, not wanting him to feel bad or guilty when she wasn't blaming him for anything.

Vianna's easy acceptance of his apology and sweet words didn't seem to comfort the young man who appeared to be in a state of shock over this, watching her with guilted brown eyes. And it wasn't even about his wife's disappointment because he could so easily see that she wasn't upset with him or anything like that... But he was completely unprepared for the realization that he could possibly forget something like this, forget that today was the day that marked his fourth anniversary to the woman his life centered around. "I know you understand gem," he assured her with a weak smile, slowly beginning to come back to reality as he returned the gentle peck she placed on his lips sweetly. "I just...I can't believe that I..forgot," he explained softly with a weak, humorless chuckle, brows still furrowed as he thought on this.

Vianna's smile turned a little more sympathetic as Ferris explained his disbelief over what had happened, over how he had forgotten it was their anniversary. "Well, if it makes you feel any better, I didn't necessarily wake up remembering this," she confessed with a soft chuckle. "I've been a little distracted as well and haven't really had a chance to think about it too much," she added with a soft sigh, her blue eyes watching Gabe absentmindedly as his curious little fingers tugged at the fabric of his father's shirt, examining the feel of it in his little hands. "One Mr. Gabriel Montgomery" - amusingly enough, Gabe looked up at his parents at that moment, seeming to recognize the sound of his name - "has been hogging up all of our attention," she accused playfully, chuckling softly as the little baby gave them curious but slightly puzzled looks, muttering something like "Ah?" in his adorable baby voice before returning his attention to the fabric in his little hands.

Ferris listened as Vianna assured him that she too hadn't woken up thinking about their anniversary, that she too had been a little distracted and hadn't had a chance to think on it too much. He gave a faint smile at this, a bit of the guilt lifting from his stomach as he realized that she hadn't been thinking about this for days or anything and he hadn't just completely disappointed her. But the young man had never just forgotten about one of their anniversaries, the last three years he'd made a very special day out of their anniversary; they'd done something. And here they were, nearly completely forgetting that today was the day that commemorated the day that they got married just four years ago. His brown eyes, still slightly clouded over with thougthfulness, turned to the sight of little Gabe as his wife addressed him, explaining that it was Gabriel Montgomery who had been hogging up all of their attention. "That's true," Ferris agreed with a soft chuckle, expression lighting up with a smile as he admired the sight of little Gabe looking at them and cooing incoherantly. "He's very distracting, this one," he mentioned softly with a sigh before turning to his wife with apologetic eyes. "I am sorry though, gem. I don't know how I let it sli--" But his words were cut off by a doorbell at six in the morning, ringing throughout the house and causing all three Montgomerys to turn their heads.

OOC: Hope it's alright if they show up right now? I'm just thinkin', since their supposed to be there with everyone and split into two groups and have a full day of awkwardness in Rome...?

ooc: Yeah, that's cool!
And BTW, it was supposed to be around seven by that time... But whatevs, it's not a big detail.

Vianna giggled lightly as Ferris agreed on Gabe's power to distract his parents so easily, completely amused by that look of confusion that had crossed the little one's adorable little face before he was distracting himself again, so easily the way all babies did. She listened as the young man then spoke again, this time apologizing again for having forgotten this special date, something to which Vianna was shaking her head slightly with an amused smile. However, that smile faded as the doorbell echoed through the house, announcing the arrival of visitors at this early hour, something the girl had not been expecting at all. Expression now turning into one of bewilderment, Vianna's brows furrowed slightly. "Were we expecting... company?" she asked, honestly not remembering inviting anyone over this early. She paused for a moment, quiet and still as the doorbell went off again before pulling the covers off herself and leaving the bed. "I'll be back," she said, flashing her husband and baby boy a smile before heading out of the room and down the stairs.

OOC: What?! Oh gawsh, I totally suck at keeping up with the time we pass by...

Ferris's brows furrowed as he heard the doorbell ring through the house, obviously surprised to hear it at this hour, let alone at all. The only time they had visitors was when they invited people over and he was pretty sure they hadn't made any plans that morning. Then again, he hadn't looked at a calendar in a long time... But before he could really say anything, she was asking him if they had been expecting company and he quickly shook his head, watching as she got up from the bed and announced that she'd return. "Alright gem," he murmured with a soft smile, watching as she left before turning his brown eyes back to the sight of little Gabe who seemed unphased by the doorbell. "Oh yes, you just don't have a care in the world, do you Gabie?" Ferris murmured to his baby boy with a soft chuckle, leaning forward and kissing his cheek sweetly.

ooc: It's ok

Vianna opened the front door then, a little unsure of what to expect, and her eyes widened in surprise at the sight that greeted her - it was her mother and Mrs. Montgomery; bright, amused, joyous smiles on their faces that only brought a sort of worry to wash over the girl. Not only that, but they were accompanied by three very familiar little characters as well - Vittorio, Jackie (who had now mastered the art of walking, though her steps were obviously still clumsy as she was only about three years of age [I think]), and Chiara - Victor's and Airi's new addition to the family, an adorable little baby girl. But before Vianna could worry too much, confusion and bewilderment were taking over instead. "M--Mum? Genny?" she muttered, clearly puzzled.

Mrs. Vincenzi invited herself in, greeting her daughter with a kiss on each cheek before walking right past her and into the house, as if this visit was completely expected. The sleepy baby in her arms cooed softly while Vittorio dozed merrily in his stroller and Jackie followed in after her grandmother with a baby bottle in her hands, not even bothering to greet or acknowledge her aunt (it seemed Vince and Victor had both decided to dump the responsibility of watching over their kids on Mrs. Vincenzi, who was beyond thrilled with the idea of spending a couple days with all of her grandchildren, even if she was fully aware of all the work and chaos that would accompany this little babysitting job). "Hmm." Mrs. Vincenzi checked her wristwatch for a second before looking up at her slightly shorter daughter with a smile. "If you two hurry, you might make it just in time; they're all supposed to be meeting there in thirty minutes," she said.

Vianna was completely lost. "What?" She turned from her mother to Mrs. Montgomery and back. "If who hurries? Who's meeting... what?"

"Now, where's Gabe? Oh, I feel like I haven't seen him in ages! Vi, you're cruel to keep that child away from us for so long!" said Mrs. Vincenzi dramatically, furrowing her brows disapprovingly at her daughter for a moment, ignoring the way the poor girl looked completely lost and confused.

Ferris's brows furrowed as he started hearing more voices from downstairs, easier to hear now that the door was left open. Lots of women and...children? What was going on downstairs? Confused, the young man got up from his spot on the bed and gently took Gabe into his arms, holding the little baby close to himself as he headed onto the loft and peered over the railing (though standing a good foot or so from the edge, not wanting to even risk the idea of little Gabe slipping). "What's going on gem--" he cut off as his brown eyes caught sight of Mrs. Vincenzi first, then his wife, and then his very own mother standing there along with three children he knew very well; Vittorio, Jackie, and Chiara. "Mum?" he called, looking rather bewildered at the sight of everyone in his house. "What're you doing here so early?"

"Don't you remember Fer?" Mrs. Montgomery called up to her son with a friendly smile, quickly grabbing Jackie's hand as she saw her heading for Vittorio (no doubt to poke him incessantly as she'd noticed the little girl enjoyed doing) through her peripheral vision, flashing Ferris a smile as Jackie pouted at her side. "Vince, Victor, Julia, Airi...?" she prompted with a soft chuckle. When she only received a further confused expression from her son in response, she continued, "They're taking a little vacation all this weekend to Rome!" his mother explained.

"You're not explaining your case in the slightest, Mum," the young man replied with a rather exasperated expression, a little tired and immediately stressed with the idea of so many people in his house at such short notice; especially the kids. They'd only been around Gabe a few times since the baby was born. Vittorio was plenty nice to little Gabe, but he'd seen the way Jackie treated her family members, upsetting them in one way or another and he kept his baby boy even closer as he spotted his niece out of the corner of his eye.

"They invited you!" Mrs. Montgomery exclaimed with a grin. "They invited you months ago and I know you said no or that you'd think about it or whatever, but we've decided that you're going today, you're leaving with them!"

Vianna listened attentively as Mrs. Montgomery began to explain to Ferris what was going on, why they were there, and her blue eyes slowly began to widen as realization washed over her. Mrs. Montgomery and her mum were there to force them to go on this trip the other two couples were attending! The girl felt she should've seen this coming, it was just like these two to pull something like this, and the disappointment in her mother's voice when she first told her the news that she and Ferris didn't really have any intentions to attend the trip had been quite obvious at the time.

"But... we--we're not going," said Vianna, her confused expression now replaced by one of surprise. "We can't leave Gabe--" she paused. That was what they were here for, to take care of Gabe while they were gone; she couldn't use the little boy as an excuse. But it was the truth. "We can't leave Gabe, he's never been away from us, we can't just.."

"Oh Vi, we're his grandmothers," said Mrs. Vincenzi. "Don't you trust us? Gabe will be just fine, and it doesn't hurt him to spend some time with other children his age as well," said the woman, raising her eyebrows slightly at her daughter before adding, her voice suddenly lower, "Besides, Vittorio could use another little boy to play with, he and Jackie unfortunately don't get along too well and Chiara's still too young to do much playing."

"But-- Mum-- We can't just leave Gabe, he's still... he's too young, I don--"

"The time's ticking, Vianna!" interrupted Mrs. Vincenzi, obviously not about to take no for an answer. "We already told the others you were coming, you can't leave them waiting. They will all be there in twenty-five minutes; I think your brothers will be greatly offended if you just leave them waiting, Vi, you three barely get to spend any time together lately, don't you miss them at all? I know they miss you..."

Vianna knew her mother too well; she'd inherited her manipulation skills from somewhere (though neither woman really used it for evil purposes, just a bit of mischief every now and then). "Mum, you know I miss my brothers too, but I can't just suddenly pack and leave Gabe like this. Besides, you two already have too much on your hands dealing with three other children."

Mrs. Vincenzi narrowed her eyes slightly at the girl. "Now you're just being stubborn, Vi," she decided. "It's not going to hurt you two to take a break only for a couple days. Trust me, by the time you're back, you'll be wishing the trip had lasted longer," she said.

Ferris's brown eyes widened to a ridiculous size as he realized why his mother and Mrs. Vincenzi was there, as he realized that they were going to babysit Gabe for the weekend and make them go and join the others for this trip. "What?!" he called from the balcony, obviously not too thrilled with this idea as he listened to Mrs. Vincenzi explain all of this to her daughter, mentioning that they needed a little time away, that they would be wishing their vacation was longer by the time they got back.

"Yeah, Fer, c'mon!" Mrs. Montgomery called up to him with a grin. "It's your anniversary, don't you want to get away for a little while?" she asked with a pair of raised red eyebrows.

"Wha'?.." he said, brows furrowing as he tried to register all that was being said. "N-No Mum, we can't just get up and leave Gabe here all alone! He's never been without us before!" the young man complained, turning to the baby in his arms with a frustrated sigh that was obviously not directed at Gabe but rather the stress that had just come into his life.

"Gabe will be fine with us! Now, you're going whether you like it or not!" Mrs. Montgomery announced to the young man, knowing that this would be for their own good. "You haven't had a moment away from that child in four months," she reminded him with raised eyebrows. "And though that's a good thing, it's also very stressful on a couple that's working two jobs and the weekends," she added. "Now I want you both to go out and have a good time. We will be here to take care of everyone and give little Gabe all the attention he needs."

"M-Mum, he needs us here wit--"

"No, Fer. He'll be fine. I know you love him and you want to spend every second with him but you need a break." And now she was heading up the stairs, having left Jackie to sit on a chair with her arms crossed, approaching her son and gently taking Gabe into her arms. "Go pack," she instructed.

"B-But Mum, you just...y-you can't just take him like tha--" Ferris started with furrowed brows, reluctantly releasing Gabe to his mother.

"He's fine Fer, he loves his grandmummies!" Mrs. Montgomery reminded him as she gazed at Gabe with warm brown eyes, admiring the sight of those blue ones staring back before turning to her son with a more stern gaze. "Go pack."

Mrs. Vincenzi seemed pleased as Mrs. Montgomery was able to take little Gabe away from the couple, which she had expected to be the greatest challenge of their mission. Vianna watched this with slightly widened blue eyes before turning back to her mother, who returned her own honey-brown eyes to her with a warm smile. "Go shower and get changed, you have twenty minutes before the others arrive in Rome," she explained simply to her daughter, but as she saw Vianna showing no intentions to move, she added with a sigh, "Gabriel will be fine, I'm honestly quite offended you wouldn't trust Genny and I to take good care of our grandson, Vianna."

Vianna's forehead creased slightly now. "Mum, that's not true! I don't think you guys--"

"Then go get changed while Ferris packs. I expect to find you both down here all dressed and ready to go in twenty minutes," said Mrs. Vincenzi simply, raising her eyebrows slightly at her daughter who let out a sigh of defeat at that moment, standing there for another moment before turning and reluctantly making her way up the stairs. She knew that once her mother and Mrs. Montgomery made up their minds on something it was a lost cause to even try to get out of it, but this was one thing she was definitely not thrilled to go along with. She couldn't bear the idea of being away from her precious baby boy for more than a few hours, it was like forcing a child to give up their favourite, most prized toy (not that Vianna thought of Gabe as a toy, of course).

Ferris, who also began to realize that there was really no fighting against the two grandmothers, gave an audible groan of distress as he trudged back into his room after witnessing Vianna also give into the fight. There was truly no use in protesting any further though, there was no getting past the two grandmothers once they'd teamed up and set their minds to something. And so, the young man returned to their room and grudgingly began to pack the clothes they might need for this trip he so desperately didn't want to go on. What about their simple little weekend with Gabe? They were finally gonna have some downtime with their precious baby boy and now they were being torn away from Gabe who had to be stuck with Jackie under the same roof. As a good uncle, the young man couldn't bring himself to say that Jackie was a little spoiled brat (even though she was), but he definitely didn't want his poor baby boy exposed to her pokes and teases. "I don't want to do this!" he grumbled the second Vianna entered the room, displeasure on every one of his features as he threw some of their clothes into their bags.

Vianna gave a small, sympathetic smile as Ferris complained that he didn't want to go on this trip they were being forced to attend. "Neither do I, Professor," said the girl with a soft sigh, watching as the boy packed for a moment. "But we can't really do much when those two team up against us," she added with a soft, brief chuckle. She paused for a moment, just quietly watching the young man before letting out a soft sigh and approaching him, leaning on her toes and pecking his cheek gently. "I'll be back in ten minutes," she said softly before disappearing to the bathroom to shower.

Ferris merely gave another groan as Vianna agreed with him before reminding him that there wasn't really much they could do when their mothers got together with the same plot in mind. "I know, I know, I don't know why we ever let them come into contact in the first place," he grumbled as though their mothers meeting wasn't necessary at all, like they were just distant friends of Fervi and had met by happenstance. But he gave a faint smile as he felt a kiss on his cheek, unable to help a slight weight to lift from his features as he listened to her promise to be back in ten minutes. "Alright," he murmured softly with a brief nod, obviously still not very happy about this change of plans they had happening without their consent. At least he didn't need to shower as he'd taken one right before bed the night before, and that would make their packing job a little less rushed. But there was a small scowl set into his expression as he finished up their suitcase and started to change clothes.

As promised, Vianna returned about ten minutes later, all wrapped up in her towel before disappearing into the closet and taking a moment to choose from the clothes Ferris hadn't packed (and he obviously hadn't packed much, of course, since this trip was only going to be two days long), deciding on one of her summer dresses which she felt she hadn't worn in ages, first due to her big belly and then due to the winter weather. But now that it was springtime, she was able to wear more summery clothes again, summery clothes that were not maternal (and she knew her mother would be pleased and she wouldn't have to deal with her nagging about the girl wearing pants in the hot Italian weather). After slipping on her sandals, Vianna walked out and closed the doors of the closet behind her, watching for a moment as Ferris finished unpacking. She reeeaaallyyy didn't want to do this, she really didn't want to go on this trip, as antisocial as that sounded since her brothers had been kind enough to invite them, but she'd much rather just spend a nice, calm day with her husband and child. However, she knew this was no time to whine about the situation they were stuck in; Vianna had never really been one to just whine anyway, she usually tried to look at the positive side of things. "All ready, Professor?" she asked the young man with a small smile.

Unfortunately, Ferris wasn't as optimistic as his wife and when he didn't want to do something, his mind began to wrap around it and he found himself falling into a bit of a pouting phase. As he zipped up the suitcase and scanned the room for anything missed, he listened as Vianna asked if he was ready, something that got him to turn around towards her with furrowed brows. "Not in the slightest," he grumbled with a weak smile, obviously still not thrilled with the idea of leaving. He'd had a long week at work! He'd been looking forward to this weekend! And now it was gone, just like that, he was doing something completely different and leaving his own home to go stay in Rome. He knew that this sounded stubborn and childish, but he couldn't really be blamed for being so reluctant, unable to see that this might actually be fun for him.

Vianna couldn't help but chuckle softly as Ferris grumbled that he wasn't ready, unable to help seeing him as an overgrown child at the moment. "Awww, my Professor..." she said sympathetically, walking over to the young man and leaning on her toes to peck his lips gently while one of her hands took his free one into her own. "I know it sounds really horrible right now, but even though we might not want to admit it, our mothers made some valid points today," she said with a small smile, a bit of amusement in her blue eyes as they scanned his own brown ones. "Gabe could use a little more time with other kids his age, and other people besides just us two. Not only that, but it's important he starts building a relationship with his cousins from early on, I don't want him to be a strange foreigner to them," she said, pausing for a moment before continuing, "And... it is our anniversary, and we haven't really gotten to leave the house for a short vacation in over a year - unless you count last summer when we went to Greece, but that's something we do every summer," continued Vianna, her smile widening slightly. "I think it'd do us some good to be with friends and family even if just for one weekend."

Ferris gave a faint smile as Vianna gave an 'aw, my Professor', something that never failed to get him to smile, no matter what the situation was. He returned the gentle kiss she placed on his lips lovingly, listening as she reminded him that their mothers had made some valid points that morning. His eyebrows rose at this, gently intwining their fingers as she pointed out that Gabe needed more time with his cousins and they themselves hadn't had a vacation since the summer before, that it would do them some good to be with friends and family just for a little while. Ferris couldn't help but let his smile widen at her words, finding it increasingly difficult to just not allow his expression to lighten when she was smiling at him like that, reminding him that it was their anniversary. "Alright," he muttered with a playful, soft sigh, dimples coming out of hiding as he pecked her lips sweetly. "But I want you at my side every second, alright?" he hoped aloud with raised eyebrows, as though he was bargaining with her.

Vianna chuckled softly as Ferris asked that she be at his side every second of this trip, something to which she nodded her head in agreement to. "Of course," she promised with a smile, having every intention to spend as much time as possible with her husband during this time. It was, after all, their anniversary, and it was only right they get to enjoy each other's company as much as possible that day. The girl leaned on her toes once more then, placing her lips upon the young man's and letting them rest there for a few moments before pulling back with a bright smile. "All ready, then?" she asked again, a little playfully, testing to see if this time she would get a different response from her husband than last time she'd asked the question.

Ferris gave a warm smile as Vianna agreed to stay at his side throughout the trip, glad to see that she agreed with the idea of spending the day together at least, if they couldn't be with Gabe. He returned the peck kiss she placed on his lovingly for the moment it lasted before allowing another soft smile to fill his expression, lsitening as she asked if he was all ready, obviously hoping for an answer different from the one he'd already given her. "Yes, I suppose," he said with a playful sigh, flashing her a bit of a grin as he revealed his dimples, admiring the sight of her for a moment before grabbing their suitcase in his free hand and starting out of their bedroom, starting down the stairs as another soft sigh escaped his lips.

Mrs. Vincenzi grinned triumphantly as the young, reluctant couple joined her and Mrs. Montgomery and the kids on the first floor of the house. "You kids ready to go, then?" she asked, her grin transforming into a smile that showed how genuinely glad she was that the couple had given in; not so much because she had come triumphant in her evil plan, but because she knew the kids (even though they were married and with a child of their own, Mrs. Vincenzi would always continue to think of them as kids) deserved a break from their busy lives, a time to just relax and do the things they'd had to give up when they brought little Gabe into the world.

"Yes, Mum," Vianna replied with a small smile, though she didn't necessarily look as cheery as she usually did, especially when her blue eyes fell upon little Gabe and it dawned on her all over again that the plans they had with their little baby had to be cancelled. "Ci si spegne quando tornerò, Gabe, vi prometto," Vianna assured the little one as she approached the little baby Mrs. Montgomery was carrying, placing the most loving of kisses to his chubby little cheek, causing the little one to beam at his mother, one of his little arms reaching out to her as she pulled back, coming to rest right on her nose. He cooed something unintelligible, and Vianna chuckled softly, leaning in and giving him another kiss, unable to help herself, before pulling back once more, the smile never leaving her lips for as long as her blue eyes were locked on the baby's equally blue ones.

Ferris merely gave a nod to Mrs. Vincenzi, his gaze otherwise directed to the floor as he sat down their suitcase for just a moment, knowing that he still needed to say goodbye to Gabe. But never did he imagine it being quite so hard, never did he anticipate the feeling he got the second that he locked eyes on his beautiful baby boy, cooing at his mother with bright blue eyes. A wave of sadness crushed over the young father who had grown so accustomed to his baby's presence, suddenly realizing once more that this would be their first time away from him; ever. To others this might sound a bit overdramatic, but to Fervi it was a very difficult thing to do! They'd never once been separated from their baby and it was hard to just leave him with someone else, no matter how trustworthy they were.

He watched with saddened brown eyes as his wife said goodbye to little Gabe in Italian before taking a place at her side and giving his baby boy a warm smile on instinct. "Aw, baby Gabie..." he murmured with a soft chuckle as he caught sight of those tiny dimples once more. "You be good and we'll be back before you know it," he continued, though it sounded as though he was giving himself better advice than Gabe. But he leaned forward and placed a sweet kiss to one of Gabe's chubby little cheeks, watching as the baby turned at the sound of his voice, grinning at his father with those bright blue eyes. "We love you, Gabie," he promised that little face with slightly saddened brown eyes, flashing him a small smile before turning to his mother who was still holding Gabe. "Never leave Jackie alone anywhere near my baby," Ferris warned softly, keeping his voice down as he didn't want to offend little Jackie or Mrs. Vincenzi (he wasn't sure if his mother-in-law knew how much of a spoiled child Jackie was, and didn't want to upset her). But he had good reason to want this and so his mother nodded with a soft chuckle, promising to do so just a moment later.

Vianna watched as Ferris said good-bye to little Gabe and chuckled softly as the young man warned his mother not to let Jackie near Gabe, understanding well why he would be worried about this. Fortunately, Mrs. Vincenzi was a little distracted by Chiara at the moment and didn't really seem to hear this; she wouldn't have necessarily been offended, but still, no grandmother wants to hear their grandchild has become undesirable company to others. After a few moments, Mrs. Vincenzi checked her watch one more time. "Two minutes," she reminded the couple with a smile.

Vianna sighed softly. "Alright..." she muttered, her blue eyes traveling back to the little baby who was reaching out to them, obviously wanting to be held by one of his parents. This broke Vianna's heart. Why? Why when she and Ferris were being forced to leave their little baby boy, happened to be the same moment the little one wanted their affection, wanted to be in their arms? "Awww Gabe..." she muttered, her forehead creasing and her heart breaking into a million little pieces as the little baby mumbled unintelligibly, trying to voice what he was asking for.

Vianna couldn't just leave. Not when her child was asking to be in their arms, she couldn't just say no to the little one and just leave like that. So, without giving it another thought, she took the little boy very gently from his grandmother's arms and into her own. "The others can wait an extra couple minutes," she said simply to the other two women, her blue eyes fixed on the baby now in her arms, who was grinning at her so joyously as he so often did. "But Gabe deserves a proper good-bye from his parents," she added, placing a loving kiss to the little one's cheek. "Ti amo, il mio bambino," she muttered softly to the baby, giving him a smile he returned brightly, cheerfully.
