| | That Summer - V.5!
This is a continued role-play created by hazydazy012, and thanks to Gryffindoll, emmafan123 and Lily Lupin this RP, plot and a couple characters are still thriving! It's one of our longest running RPs in a LONG time, if not the longest. So congrats to you girls for doing such a good job at keeping the thread(s) active, and enjoy.
This is version (5) FIVE, the first four threads have reached their post limits. From the original thread: Quote:

One year at Hogwarts a mysterious spell was cast that not even the professors can undo. You wouldn't be able to see a difference at Hogwarts, just looking at the school, but it actually made magic impossible! Not a single person or creature could cast a spell while in the school. How are the students supposed to learn when they can't try out the new spells? Sure, most were devestated, (Especially the 7th years! How are they supposed to finish their last year?!) but of course, some were estatic too! Who doesn't want to have a longer summer vacation? So, most students go home in high spirits TWO months before Hogwarts was officially supposed to be let out for summer break. Only one week into their luxuriously long holiday, every student recieves this letter:
"It is mandatory for any students who want to complete their year to attend "La Bacchetta Magica", a summer learning camp for wizards located in a small getaway near Tuscany. You will be finishing up the studies that were unfinished at Hogwarts. Please bring your wand and other necessary items for regular classes."
Fantastic. Some are angry, but most are excited! I mean, it's called "The Magic Wand" in Italian, for goodness sakes. It's gotta be fun. And guess what?! It is! Everyone is having a great time with the mix of school and just plain summer camp fun! How will the Divinations in the morning and campfires at night affect the students? You decide!
Please join! There will need to be a few professors/camp counselors! Even number of boys and girls, please. Post a bio with a picture, thanks!
(P.S. I looked up "La Bacchetta Magica" and it told me "The Magic Wand" but it was only an online translator. If I'm wrong, then whoops! Heehee)

Vianna chuckled softly as Ferris assured her he'd kiss her again the way they'd just had next time he got the chance, her smile widening as his lips met her cheek. Her blue-eyed gaze turned amused as the young man then addressed the wailing baby in her arms, though his words of reassurance weren't enough to get the little one to calm down. Vianna sighed softly, feeling pretty sure of what might be bothering their baby at that moment. "I think he's hungry," she muttered, walking over to the rocking chair and using one hand to pick up Ferris's sketchbook. "Well, Mr. Artist, how about you take Gabe's tub over to the bathroom, clean up around our room a bit and start thinking of what you might want for dinner while I feed Gabe," the girl listed (she'd kind of made a habit of giving Ferris to-do lists whenever she got busy), all the while holding out his book for him to take. "And maybe also work on the sketch a bit?" she asked with a smile, honestly rather eager to see the end result of his drawing.

| Blonde&Proud Sirius Sense of humor Ferris gave a weak smile as Vianna announced that Gabe was probably hungry, knowing that he really couldn't be much of a help with that situation. And so he took the sketchbook from his wife as she sat down, listening as she suggested that he take Gabe's tub to the bathroom, clean up their room and start thinking of what he wanted for dinner along with possibly working on the sketch. He gave a bit of an amused smile at this list she'd just come up with, knowing how she had a habit of making them when she was trying to get everything organized. "I will take the tub and think about dinner, I will finish up this sketch, but I really don't think our room's all that bad," the young man replied, flashing her a bit of a playful grin. That was one thing that Fervi argued about from time to time; that their room was clean or not. Vianna always suggested that he clean it and he never truly saw anything wrong with the room. But really, the young man would end up doing it just for the sake of his wife's content, and he often liked to tease her by disagreeing whenever she suggested he go clean it. Ferris leaned forward and kissed her forehead before heading out of the room with another flash of his grin.

Vianna furrowed her brows disapprovingly at Ferris as he teased her, assuring her that he would do the things on the list, but that the room wasn't all that bad. Vianna would've argued with him on that had she not been carrying a wailing, kicking baby in her arms who would not take it well if his parents ignored his needs for another minute. And so instead the girl merely gave Ferris a warning look before the young man kissed her forehead and disappeared from the room, leaving the girl to deal with a hungry wailing newborn.

| Blonde&Proud Sirius Sense of humor But Ferris did do as he was told and he returned to their bedroom in order to unwrap the little baby bathtub and set it on their bathroom counter, rather appreciative that they now had an actual place to wash Gabe rather than just the kitchen sink. In the next twenty minutes he had made the bed and put a few things away before going to take a shower and getting dressed in a pair of jeans and his Crossfield's shirt. This only reminded him of his precious bookstore and to be honest, he rather missed going there. They'd left the shop to employees for most of the holiday break and with all that had been going on at home, he hadn't stepped foot in his store for over a week. That didn't sound all that bad, but Ferris truly enjoyed his work at the bookstore; it was natural and extremely rewarding to the young man who'd always loved books. After glancing absentmindedly at the Crossfield's shirt in the mirror and noting how different it felt to own the store that was being advertised rather than just working at it, he took a seat on their bed and began to work a bit more on his sketches.

Gabe seemed to be set on leaving his mother deaf that afternoon. Everything was well as he ate, and once finished, the girl stayed in the room, on the rocking chair, for a few more long moments, just rocking gently on the chair with a sleepy baby in her arms. But then, just as the girl thought the little one was drifting off into another nap, he began to wail once again, his little pink face turning a bright shade of red, tears quickly welling in his crystal blue eyes. Vianna's own blue eyes widened at this, not sure what was wrong with the little one who'd just eaten and gotten a diaper change not too long ago; she tried something that had worked the day before, though, and removed the green blankie from around the little baby who was already cozily dressed up in his onesie and booties. Gabe's cries stopped then, his little body feeling refreshed now that it wasn't suffocated by his warm clothes and a blankie. Vianna smiled faintly at this, leaning in toward the little one and placing a kiss on his pink little face. "I can't wait until you can start talking and telling me what you need, Gabe; this guessing game is leaving your mummy rather deaf," she informed the little one who merely stared at her blankly before furrowing his brows at her, as if trying to figure out what exactly it was she was telling him. Vianna chuckled softly at the sight of this, her blue eyes sparkling with pure endearment, with a sort of motherly loving that only this precious little boy in her arms could bring out in her. "You're so cute," she said softly, flashing the baby who seemed wide awake now another smile before getting up to her feet. She considered placing Gabe back in his crib, but that seemed rather cruel when the baby wasn't even sleepy anymore; and so, with the baby still in arms, she walked out of the nursery and over to the main bedroom, only find that Ferris had followed her to-do list after all and had cleaned up their room, which hadn't been that horribly messy in the first place, but Vianna had always preferred to have it spotless anyway. The girl smiled at the sight of him working on his sketchbook, and felt a little bad interrupting him. "Professor, would you mind watching over Gabe while I prepare dinner?" she asked softly from the doorway, the baby in her arms turning his head slightly and placing his blue-eyed gaze upon the figure he recognized to be his father sitting on the bed.

| Blonde&Proud Sirius Sense of humor Ferris looked up from his concentrated stare at his sketchbook as he heard Vianna's voice, looking up only to see his wife holding their baby and asking if he would mind watching Gabe while she made dinner. The warmest of smiles crossed the young man's features then, his brown eyes sparkling as they fell from Vianna to little Gabe, quickly getting up from the bed and setting his sketchbook aside to approach them. "Of course I wouldn't mind little Gabie's company!" he replied as he walked over to them, clearly beaming at the sight of the little baby who had so easily stolen his heart. But Ferris had never had another human being that was linked to him in the way that Gabe was, he'd never truly been the father to anything or anyone. And now that he was, it was something that he couldn't really get over. He loved seeing that little face staring back at him, loved those bright blue eyes that so flawlessly matched that of his mother's. "C'mere baby boy..." the young man murmured with a soft smile, very gently taking Gabe from Vianna and holding him in his arms easily. "Yeah, are you gonna spend some time with daddy?" he asked the infant who merely stared back at that face that was slowly growing more familiar, one of his tiny hands coming up to touch his father's chin as he listened to the voice he'd grown comfortable with since before he was born.

Vianna smiled warmly as she carefully and gently handed the little baby in her arms over to his father, admiring the way the young man spoke to their newborn who was now reaching out to him. She admired this sight with sparkling eyes for a couple moments, a little distracted by the overall beauty of it before snapping back to reality. "So, did you think about what you want for dinner, Professor?" asked the girl with a small smile as she leaned against the doorway, blue eyes watching as little Gabe's tiny hand met his father's chin.

| Blonde&Proud Sirius Sense of humor Ferris only looked up from the little baby boy in his arms as Vianna spoke from her spot leaning up against the doorframe, listening as she asked if he'd thought about what he wanted for dinner. "Oh, yeah," he said with a soft chuckle, obviously a bit distracted by the baby who was currently running his fingers all along the side of his jaw, cooing up at him as though trying to lecture his father on something. "I was thinking that maybe we'd do something Italian?" he suggested softly with a flash of a quirky grin. "We haven't had it all that often and I've been finding myself craving it," he explained with a sheepish chuckle. "I blame you for that, by the way," he muttered playfully before turning his brown eyes back to Gabe thoughtfully. "You know we still haven't thought of a middle name for him..." the young man murmured after a long moment of merely admiring the little baby in his arms. But the couple had never really discussed a middle name that much, they'd sort of put it off. And there was nothing that said your child had to have a middle name, but it was something that Ferris found his mind drifting off towards every once in a while.

Vianna's eyebrows rose as Ferris confessed that he was in the mood for Italian, that he'd found himself craving it for some reason, and it was her fault. She laughed lightly at the accusation, though there was great amusement on her features. "Have I slowly but surely been turning my 'English boy' husband into an Italian man?" Vianna teased with mock shock on her features before letting out a soft chuckle. She straightened herself from her leaning position and was just about to turn and head to the kitchen when Ferris spoke once more, mentioning how they hadn't really given Gabe a middle name. Vianna's brows furrowed slightly now, not really having thought about this before. She wasn't sure what this meant, though; did the young man want their little one to have a middle name? She wasn't really too horribly concerned with the idea, and therefore held no preference of her own. "Are we giving Gabe a middle name?" she asked softly, curiously.

| Blonde&Proud Sirius Sense of humor Ferris let out a hearty chuckle as Vianna asked if she had slowly but surely turned her 'English boy' husband into an Italian man, something which he shook his head at. "I'm afraid not. I'm still just as pale and English as I've always been," he assured her with a bit of a boyish grin before his brown eyes drifted back to Gabe thoughtfully. He honestly didn't have that much of an opinion on whether Gabe had a middle name or not, it wasn't something that was particularly necessary but he'd had some ideas for it. He listened to Vianna's question of whether or not they were actually going to give their baby a middle name and he returned his gaze to her with a small smile and a shrug. "I dunno," the young man replied as Gabe rested his little hand on his throat once more, feeling the vibrations of his father's speech. "I was just thinking that 'Gabriel Montgomery' isn't...entirely true to little Gabe's whole heritage," he explained with a bit of a grin. "I mean...I was just.." Ferris tried to explain himself but it didn't quite work out for a while until he finally managed to get it out, "I was just thinking that maybe we could give him an Italian middle name?" the young man finally asked with a raise of his eyebrows. "I dunno, it was just a thought. But, afterall, half of his blood is completely and totally Italian. You were the first Vincenzi to marry outside of Sicily, and it sort of makes sense for him to represent his Italian side too, right?" he rambled all in one big jumble, ending it with a flash of a sheepish smile, unsure if he was making any sense. OOC: Twenty minutes!

ooc: Ok!
Vianna chuckled softly as Ferris assured her that he was still as English as ever, before the young man then went on to explain that 'Gabriel Montgomery' wasn't completely true to the little one's heritage, that he was considering the idea of perhaps giving the baby an Italian middle name, as half his blood was Italian. Vianna smiled warmly at this, her eyebrows raising slightly as the young man then pointed out that she was the first of her family to marry outside of Italy, something she hadn't really expected him to remember or make note of, though it had been a pretty big deal for her own family.
"That's true…" muttered Vianna thoughtfully, her blue eyes falling to the baby in her husband's arms with a small smile, though her gaze was for the most part thoughtful. "I'd like that… for Gabe to have an Italian name, I mean. Chances are he's going to be living here and going to school here in England; I don't want him to forget he's got another home, another culture," said the girl, starting to like this idea the more she thought about it (and sure that little Gabe's Italian grandparents would be more than happy with the news). "We'll have to think on it," said the girl after a moment's pause, her smile widening slightly and her blue eyes returning to the young man carrying their newborn baby in his arms. "Maybe during a very, conveniently enough, Italian dinner," she added with a soft chuckle, flashing her husband one last smile before turning and making her way down the stairs and over to the kitchen to get started on that night's dinner.

| Blonde&Proud Sirius Sense of humor Ferris gave a bit of a smile as Vianna seemed to like the idea, watching as her own smile widened and she decided that she would like to give Gabe an Italian middle name so he never forgot that he had another culture. "Exactly," he agreed softly, a warm smile coming onto his pale face as she decided that they'd think on it over a very Italian dinner. "Alright," he agreed softly with a soft chuckle and a nod before he watched her go down the stairs, his brown-eyed gaze thoughtful. He headed back over to the bed with Gabe in his arms, laying down on his side and very gently allowing Gabe to sit on his broad chest, facing his father. But of course, the little guy couldn't really keep himself up and so Ferris's large hands gently held the infant's back so he could sit up and look at his father as he seemed to enjoy, his little hands coming up to play with Ferris's nose and stroke his smooth skin. He liked the idea of giving Gabe an Italian middle name, it was just fitting. Though Ferris himself wasn't Italian or anything like that, he'd grown a huge appreciation for the culture as a whole just through his relationship with Vianna and all of Vianna's family. It was such a big part of who his wife was, such a beautiful trait in Vianna that the young man couldn't help but want Gabe to have as well, even if he was only half Italian.

Vianna was rather glad Ferris had gone for Italian this night, as she herself was rather craving something from her homeland as well, and that craving only grew as she got started on that night's meal, Baked Rigatoni, the kitchen now filling with the smells of meat sauce, mozzarella cheese, and baked pasta (which got all of their six little pets to wander into the kitchen with curiosity and hunger in their eyes). Vianna chuckled softly at the sight of all of them lined by at the doorway, looking up at her rather expectantly. "You guys really shouldn't be eating this stuff, you know?" she said to the furry creatures, as if they understood or cared. All they knew was that something smelled good and they wanted some of it on their plates.
Once it was all prepared, Vianna set a large plate filled with the baked rigatoni on Ferris's usual spot at the table, and then another smaller plate on her side. "Dinner's ready!" Vianna called out from the bottom of the stairs before returning to the kitchen, only to find her fat little squirrel standing on one of the chairs at the dining table. "Fluffy!" exclaimed the girl, taking the squirrel into her hands and setting him on the floor. "Alright, that's it -- all of you out! This stuff isn't good for you and I'm already doing you enough damage as it is letting you have marshmallows," she said, furrowing her brows disapprovingly at the furry creatures who began to hop and scurry away and over to the living room, looking rather disappointed they weren't getting any leftovers that night.

| Blonde&Proud Sirius Sense of humor Ferris entered the kitchen just a couple minutes later, going the opposite direction of their pets who appeared to have just been shooed out of the kitchen by Vianna. He gave a faint smile at this but most of his attention was directed to the baby sitting in his arms, supported securely by his father's embrace and staring up at Ferris's expression with clear interest in his blue-eyed gaze. "Look at that, Gabie..." the young man murmured to the baby boy with an amused grin, letting out a soft chuckle as the little baby cooed in return. "It looks like Mummy kicked out all of our pets.." he murmured to him in a baby-toned voice, brown eyes sparkling as little Gabe turned his head slightly to the side to look at his father at a different angle. He looked up from Gabe with the warmest of smiles as he finally noticed the wonderful smell that was in the air and the delicious-looking pile of Baked Rigatoni on a plate just for him. "Vi it looks amazing," Ferris admitted with a soft chuckle, sitting down in his seat carefully so as to make sure he was supporting Gabe all the while, keeping him snug up against his chest. "Gabe and I were just having a staring contest," he explained to his wife with a boyish grin, dimples coming out of hiding as he watched her with sparkling brown eyes.

Vianna grinned on instinct as Ferris and little Gabe entered the room, her blue eyes admiring this sight she would never tire of when the young man spoke, explaining to Gabe that his mother had kicked out all of their pets. Vianna gave a soft chuckle at this, shaking her head slightly. "Fluffy had his eye on your rigatoni," she explained with a small, amused smile, watching as the young man then proceeded to sit and share with her that the meal looked amazing, something which got her smile to widen. "I'm glad you think so," she said, then going on to take a seat on her chair as Ferris explained that he and Gabe had been having a staring contest. Vianna rose her eyebrows at this before chuckling softly. "Oh yeah? And who won?" she asked, before going on to add, "My money's on Gabe."

| Blonde&Proud Sirius Sense of humor Ferris let out a hearty chuckle as Vianna mentioned that Fluffy had had his eye on the young man's rigatoni, obviously rather amused that Fluffy had still kept his habit of trying to steal food that wasn't his own. "Of course he was..." he murmured with an amused shake of his head before listening as Vianna asked who had won the staring contest, that her money was on Gabe. "Oh, well of course it was Ga--" he paused as he registered her last few words, his brown eyes coming up from their admiration of the baby in his arms back to the girl in front of him. "Hey!" he complained with furrowed brows though there was clear amusement behind his dark brown eyes. "I can't stand up to those blue eyes! He's just too cute!"

Vianna was just getting started on her rigatoni, listening as Ferris began speaking, before the young man suddenly gave a 'Hey!' that got the girl to fall into a fit of amused giggles. "What's that supposed to mean, Professor? Are you trying to say Gabe cheated by turning cute on you on purpose?" she asked, raising an eyebrow slightly at the young man. "Gabe, it seems to me like Dad's being a sore loser. But don't feel bad, he's always been bad at admitting a loss... I should know, I've beaten him on every competition we've had since we first met," said the girl with mock arrogance, though there was true pride in it, the giggles soon returning to her as she continued eating her rigatoni as if nothing had happened.

| Blonde&Proud Sirius Sense of humor Ferris gave a bit of an amused, lopsided grin as Vianna asked if he meant that Gabe turned on the cuteness on purpose just to win and he gave a nod of agreement, brown eyes widened playfully. "That's exactly what I'm saying!" he confirmed with a soft chuckle, listening as she then addressed their baby and explained that his daddy was a sore loser and she would know since she had beaten him at every competition they had since they first met. His jaw dropped at this, brown eyes widening further though he coulndn't hide the slight amusement behind his gaze. "Don't listen to her Gabe, she's a liar! She's lost plenty of times and she knows it!" he explained to the baby before beginning to eat some rigatoni.

Now it was Vianna's jaw that was dropping. "What?! I've never lost a competition!" she said, brows furrowing. "Except perhaps that broom race a long time ago, when we were hiding from the kidnappers in that cave in the mountains... but that was only because I let you win," said Vianna stubbornly, cutting up bits of her baked rigatoni as she spoke.

| Blonde&Proud Sirius Sense of humor Ferris rolled his eyes as he heard the reaction he'd expected from the girl across from him, munching on a large bit of rigatoni as he listened to her deny that she'd ever lost a competition, mentioning that perhaps one time back when they were being chased by the kidnappers and she'd let him win. "You're mad!" the young man threw back across the table with a soft chuckle, shaking his head at her as he thought back to their many competitions. "I've won just as much as you have you just never want to admit it because you're the sore loser!" Ferris flashed her a grin, knowing very well how much Vianna hated the suggestion that she'd ever lost but also knowing full well that she'd lost a number of times.

Vianna's jaw dropped yet again and her blue eyes narrowed at the young man that sat across the small rounded table. "That's not true! I'm not a sore loser, you-- you're just-- y'know, reverse psychology isn't going to work on me! You may call me the sore loser all you want, but I know the truth, Professor," said Vianna, her brows furrowed disapprovingly as she continued to eat her rigatoni a little more enthusiastically, fueled by the accusations she didn't appreciate (and had a hard time admitting were true).

| Blonde&Proud Sirius Sense of humor Ferris couldn't help but grow more and more amused as Vianna seemed to grow cuter, watching as she explained with narrowed blue eyes that his words weren't true and that reverse psychology wasn't going to work on her, that she knew the truth. "The truth?" he repeated with an amused smile, brown eyes sparkling at the sight of her eating her meal so matter of factly. Was it weird that he found her to be so cute when she was all stubborn like this? "And just what exactly is the 'truth' Mrs. Vianna Montgomery?" he asked the girl with a boyish grin, raising his eyebrows at her as he continued to eat his meal, careful with Gabe so as to not accidently drop food on the poor baby or something of the sort.

"The truth is that I'm not a sore loser and that I've won almost all of our competitions!" Vianna replied simply and rather stubbornly of course, not about to admit any time soon that her record wasn't as straight as she liked to insist it was. She took another bite from her rigatoni and turned quiet then, focusing her attention only on the meal before her, though she still seemed a little annoyed as she stabbed her meal with her fork a little more forcefully than she should.

| Blonde&Proud Sirius Sense of humor Ferris's eyebrows rose further, his amusement only growing, as Vianna explained rather stubbornly that the truth was that she wasn't a sore loser and she'd won almost all of their competitions. "Almost being the key word in that statement," he replied teasingly, watching her with a broad, warm smile on his pale face before he took notice of the way Vianna's poor rigatoni was receiving some sort of punishment it didn't seem to deserve. Ferris returned his gaze to the baby in his arms, brown eyes sparkling at the sight of the little guy who was blinking slowly, seeming to look a tiny bit sleepy as he stared up at his father. "Gabie..." he murmured with an amused grin. "I think your Mummy's angry with me," he said with a soft, over-exaggerated sigh. "Yes, I know that she usually seems to like me but now it appears as though she's finally had it with me," he murmured with a look of mock defeat on his pale features, as though he was really having a conversation with the baby in his arms.

Vianna threw Ferris a rather unfriendly look as he pointed out that 'almost' was the keyword on her last statement, though she said nothing and continued eating her rigatoni instead, a little faster than she usually ate her meals. She listened as the young man then spoke again, this time addressing the tiny baby in his arms, sharing with him that it seemed like his mummy had had it with him. Reluctantly, Vianna allowed the corners of her lips to curve just very slightly into a mildly amused smile before allowing her expression to turn serious once more. "Gabe, you should probably tell your father that the only way Mummy will be happy with him again is if he admits the truth about our competitions," she told the baby, as if he was supposed to pass the messages between the couple.
