Default That Summer - V.5!

This is a continued role-play created by hazydazy012, and thanks to Gryffindoll, emmafan123 and Lily Lupin this RP, plot and a couple characters are still thriving! It's one of our longest running RPs in a LONG time, if not the longest. So congrats to you girls for doing such a good job at keeping the thread(s) active, and enjoy.

This is version (5) FIVE, the first four threads have reached their post limits. From the original thread:

One year at Hogwarts a mysterious spell was cast that not even the professors can undo. You wouldn't be able to see a difference at Hogwarts, just looking at the school, but it actually made magic impossible! Not a single person or creature could cast a spell while in the school. How are the students supposed to learn when they can't try out the new spells? Sure, most were devestated, (Especially the 7th years! How are they supposed to finish their last year?!) but of course, some were estatic too! Who doesn't want to have a longer summer vacation? So, most students go home in high spirits TWO months before Hogwarts was officially supposed to be let out for summer break. Only one week into their luxuriously long holiday, every student recieves this letter:

"It is mandatory for any students who want to complete their year to attend "La Bacchetta Magica", a summer learning camp for wizards located in a small getaway near Tuscany. You will be finishing up the studies that were unfinished at Hogwarts. Please bring your wand and other necessary items for regular classes."

Fantastic. Some are angry, but most are excited! I mean, it's called "The Magic Wand" in Italian, for goodness sakes. It's gotta be fun. And guess what?! It is! Everyone is having a great time with the mix of school and just plain summer camp fun! How will the Divinations in the morning and campfires at night affect the students? You decide!

Please join! There will need to be a few professors/camp counselors! Even number of boys and girls, please. Post a bio with a picture, thanks!

(P.S. I looked up "La Bacchetta Magica" and it told me "The Magic Wand" but it was only an online translator. If I'm wrong, then whoops! Heehee)

The next couple weeks for the couple were filled with visits to the children in town, lazy mornings in bed, sunny afternoons in the ocean, and, of course, a lot of kissing contests. Each day felt better than the last for the pair, and even after these past couple weeks, they still seemed to have a little difficulty believing that they were married, that they were no longer just Ferris Montgomery and Vianna Vincenzi but rather Mr. and Mrs. Montgomery. There was still something surreal about it, but it never stopped making the couple insanely happy, grateful that they had made it to this point together.

But it was time to return to the real world, to return home and to the life they were living before the wedding, with the difference that they were now a married rather than engaged. They'd returned home through the floo network, appearing in a green fire in the familiar living room of their home.
Vianna coughed as she walked out from the ashes, though it wasn't long until the brightest of smiles was lighting up her lightly tanned face. Wow. Despite having fallen in love with the little cabin back in Greece, the young girl had missed their home terribly. There was just something warm and welcoming about it, about its familiarity. "We're home!" the young girl announced brightly, only to be greeted by a cat, two fat squirrels, and three large bunnies (all of which Costa had been taking care of while the couple was away). Vianna beamed at the sight of their precious pets, taking the fattest little squirrel (which happened to be Fluffy, of course) into her hands with a loving sort of daze taking over her blue eyes. "Fluffy! I missed you!"
Fluffy merely stared at her.

Ferris stepped out of their fireplace, clearing his throat slightly from all of the dust around them, and gazed around at their living room with a warm smile on his features (which now were actually just barely tanned, though still very pale in comparison to Vianna's tan skin). "Yes, I know, gem," the boy teased her with an amused smile as she announced that they were home as though he couldn't tell himself. But he'd always loved that about Vianna, how she loved to state the obvious because she was overly excited about it. It was far too cute. He was then distracted as he caught sight of all of their pets running/hopping/dashing on squirrley little paws over to them. He let out a soft chuckle at this, admiring the sight of all of them before picking up the large gray cat who was meowing at his feet. "Yes, hello there Turnip, I've missed you very much," he told her, setting down the bags and gently picking up the gray cat with bright green eyes who immediately began purring as Ferris picked her up. He scratched behind her ears and the young cat rubbed the top of her head against Ferris's scruffy chin, purring audibly and sounding more like some soft lawnmower than a cat.

Once done sharing with Fluffy how much she'd missed him (as if the spoiled squirrel cared), Vianna moved on to Amber who was a lot friendlier, and then on to her rather large, white bunnies. She was petting Sporco absentmindedly, making her way deeper into the house, just kind of glancing around at the new but familiar surrounding before turning to Ferris. "Sooo, Professor... Now that we're back on English land," she started casually but playfully, "Would you like to set a date for your first visit to your new bookstore?" she asked, a bit of a grin adorning her lightly tanned face.

Ferris was just setting down Turnip when Vianna spoke, starting her statement with a long 'Soooo', and asking playfully when he wanted to set a date for his first visit to his new bookstore. At the question, his features immediately lit up, his eyebrows raising slightly and a grin spreading across his expression, "When's too soon?" he asked, slipping his lanky arms around his wife's slender waist and picking her up a good foot off the ground, gently pecking her lips with his own just because he wanted to. He had a bookstore. A bookstore! And it was all because of the girl he was holding up playfully in his arms, admiring her expression with sparkling brown eyes.

Vianna giggled lightly at Ferris's response, her giggles only growing as the boy picked her up, her feet leaving the ground at that moment, and she returned the peck kiss the boy placed on her lips. The girl still had Sporco in her hands, though, and was being careful not to crush the poor rabbit or anything. "There's no 'too soon', there's only whenever my Professor wants to go," Vianna said with a grin. "And... actually, I think that if we go, we should probably take Mr. Nordoff with us. He'll be able to tell you how many books we should start ordering, and anything else you might need to know," said the girl with a shrug, as she herself wasn't really sure what they'd need. And besides, she knew Ferris was extremely close to Mr. Nordoff and there was no one better to guide him through this than the man himself.

Ferris couldn't help but grin as Vianna informed him that there wasn't any too soon, that there was only whenever her Professor wanted to go, then mentioning that whenever they did go, they should take Mr. Nordoff with them as he'd be a big help. "What a wonderful idea, gem," the boy replied with a soft chuckle, brown eyes admiring her for another moment before he set her down on her feet and gently took Sporco from her hands, gently setting him down on the armchair. "But whenever should we go?" he asked with mock formality, gently slipping his arms back around her waist and leaning towards her with a warm smile on his face, admiring her from his towering height nearly a foot above.

Vianna grinned as Ferris agreed to her idea of taking Mr. Nordoff with them before the boy then went on to set the girl down, back on her feet, before taking the white rabbit that was resting in her arms and setting him on the armchair instead. Sporco made himself comfortable on one of the pillows on the armchair and gazed up at the couple as they continued being mushballs, though this was something the rabbit had already gotten used to. Vianna giggled lightly at her husband's mock formality, amused by him. "I'm not sure, Mr. Montgomery... Would you like to go, say... now?" she asked, her eyebrows raising slightly as she played along with the formal act before giggling lightly once more.

Ferris couldn't help but grin as he heard Vianna's giggles, listening as she then explained that she wasn't sure, calling him Mr. Montgomery and asking if he wanted to go right then, a question that made his brown eyes widen with mock surprise. "You want to go now, Mrs. Montgomery?!" he replied with a soft gasp before his features grew even more amused, his smile turning rather lopsided as he walked forward, forcing her to walk backwards, his arms still snug around her. "That's awfully forward of you, gem, don't you think?" he joked, teasing her lightly as he backed her up gently against the side of their staircase, leaning forward to plant a sweet kiss on her rosy lips, completely amused with their conversation.

Vianna gasped and her jaw dropped as Ferris asked if she wanted to go now, going on to tease the girl, saying that this was awfully forward of her. "What?! You're mixing up my words, Mr. Montgomery - I very specifically asked if you wanted to go now," Vianna said in her defense, her light eyebrows raising at the boy as she took absentminded steps backward on instinct as the boy before her continued walking forward. And before the young girl could even realize this or say anything else, she found herself standing with her back against the side of the staircase, and only a second later, the boy before her had placed his lips upon her own. Vianna was immediately distracted from everything else at that very second, returning the kiss gently and lovingly, though there was still a bit of amusement on her features as her lips curved just very slightly into a smile.

Ferris couldn't help but smile to himself slightly as he returned the kiss lovingly, suddenly finding himself pulling her closer and deepening their kiss on instinct, completely forgetting anything and everything around him besides the girl in his arms. Just as he was beginning to forget their conversation entirely, the front door opened and in came the voice of Mr. Nordoff, "Montgomerys!" he called as he opened the door with Nathan at his side, only to find the couple in question kissing next to their staircase. "Oh! Nathan, cover your eyes m'boy!" he yelled over-dramatically, turning away from the sight of Mr. and Mrs. Montgomery to teasingly cover Nathan's eyes with one hand, covering his own with his other. "Honestly Mr. Montgomery, are you trying to scar an old man's mind?!" Mr. Nordoff scolded playfully, a large grin on his face.

Ferris immediately broke apart from Vianna, jumping slightly as he caught sight of a familiar old man and a young boy, both sets of their eyes being covered, though there were teasing grins on both faces. "Well, no one told me that said old man would be barging into my house uninvited!" Ferris defended playfully, though he was rather flustered by the sudden interruption. He turned to the girl at his side with a sheepish smile, pulling her into his side and pressing a loving kiss to her cheek, hoping she wasn't too embarrassed by Mr. Nordoff and Nathan's random entrance.

Vianna, who was completely distracted by this kiss she was sharing with her husband, completely lost in it, was very abruptly snapped out of its bliss and daze as the front door suddenly opened and in walked Mr. Nordoff and Nathan, the older man's deep voice echoing all throughout the small home and giving Vianna the fright of a lifetime. But she hadn't been expecting the sudden interruption, and so it completely caught her off-guard. She flashed the newcomers a friendly but obviously very sheepish and flustered smile as Ferris spoke, and her cheeks seemed to turn just the lightest shade of pink as Ferris placed a kiss on her cheek. "We were just talking about you actually," said Vianna, her smile widening slightly for a brief moment before it faded and her brows furrowed. "N-Not that talking about you makes us... k-kiss, or anything, that'd be... well, yeah, that'd--" Vianna stopped abruptly, opting best to stop embarrassing herself. "I kind of... ruined the surprise," the girl confessed quietly, referring to the bookstore. Mr. Nordoff, of course, knew all about how this was supposed to be a secret until the honeymoon was over and it was then that she was supposed to tell Ferris about this. "He knows, I couldn't not tell him!" she added, her forehead creasing slightly. But she couldn't help it, she'd always been terrible at keeping surprises surprising. "So we were talking about when it'd be best to go see it."

"Don't blame me!" Mr. Nordoff replied, as though offended that his favourite nerd would accuse him of barging in. He peeked through his hand as though to make sure the couple wasn't still kissing, before letting his hands drop and a grin spread across his features. "Your mother sent me to make sure you got in alright," he explained, watching as Nathan ran over to pet all of the animals who had settled on the armchairs and couch. It was then that Vianna spoke, mentioning that she and her husband had just been talking about him, a statement that got his gray eyebrows to raise, listening as she continued to stutter out the explanation that talking about him didn't make them want to kiss. "I understand you completely, my dear," the old genial man said with a warm smile, letting out a soft chuckle with a shake of his head. But Mr. Nordoff always had a way of calming a room, of making everyone feel comfortable, it was just something that sort of came from his personality. Ferris, however, seemed to be completely endeared by Vianna's flustered nature, and how cute she was getting all worked up and starting to ramble, her cheeks turning that shade of pink he loved so much. He couldn't seem to keep away from her too long, and as Mr. Nordoff turned around to find a seat for himself, he snuck a quick but loving peck to her rosy lips.

And it was then that Vianna announced that she'd ruined the surprise and Mr. Nordoff froze halfway to his seat, his gray eyebrows raising slightly at this. He stood back up on his feet, listening as she explained that her husband knew all about the surprise and she just couldn't have not told him, that they'd just been talking about when it would be best to go see it. "Mrs. Montgomery (he obviously enjoyed pointing out that they were married), you spilled the beans?!" the old man asked with mock surprise, though there was obvious amusement in his wrinkled expression, letting out a hearty laugh a moment later. "I figured you wouldn't be able to keep it too long from CurlyHead anyway," he said with a small shrug.

Vianna gave a brief, soft chuckle as Ferris snuck a peck kiss to her lips, a little too flustered to return the gesture properly. She listened as Mr. Nordoff accused her of 'spilling the beans', something which got the girl to chuckle once more with amusement, and she listened as he continued, mentioning that he knew she wouldn't be able to keep it too long from CurlyHead. Vianna smiled, amused by the nickname she felt she hadn't heard in a while, and she seemed rather relieved that Mr. Nordoff wasn't upset with her or anything. "Would you like something to drink? Are you hungry?" the young girl asked, apparently just then remembering that they were home and she had to offer their guests something. And over the past number of months, almost a whole year ago, when she first moved into this house with Ferris, Vianna had become used to this which she had never really done before (offering drinks and snacks and such), as all her life she'd had a house-elf who took care of all that. But now that the girl could cook (she wasn't necessarily a pro yet or anything), it made it easier for her to take care of their guests and feel like she wasn't too terrible a host.

Mr. Nordoff shook his head with a friendly smile as Vianna offered him something to eat, asking if he was hungry, "Oh, no, Vianna thank you," he replied with a soft chuckle, rather amused with how she went into hostess mode. "Giselda made a large breakfast this morning," he explained, referring to his wife. (Giselda was a woman approximately ten years younger than Mr. Nordoff, his "beloved wife" as he so often referred to her, very plump, very bright, and a very good cook. They were quite the pair next to one another, as Mr. Nordoff was sort of bony and tall and his wife was plump and still had a good amount of colour to her hair whereas her husband's hair had gone gray long ago.) Even if Mr. Nordoff had wanted something to eat or drink, Ferris didn't seem to keen on letting his wife go any time soon, his lanky arms now wrapped snugly around her from behind, his chin resting on her shoulder and a warm smile on his pale face, unaware that it seemed as though the couple literally couldn't be separated. But it had become almost unintentional for Ferris to wrap his arms around his wife, always at her side, always bringing her closer, and he rarely noticed how reluctant to let go of her he always seemed. "So...how was the honeymoon?" Mr. Nordoff asked absentmindedly, petting Turnip who had come over to greet him, his dark gray eyes set on the kitten whose fur matched his gaze.

"Wonderful," Ferris immediately replied with a soft chuckle, unable to help himself.

Vianna's face seemed to light up as Mr. Nordoff mentioned the honeymoon, and she nodded her head in agreement when Ferris shared that it had been wonderful. "Best two weeks ever," the girl added with a bit of a grin, and it was obvious by that sparkle in her crystal blue eyes that this was no exaggeration, that she really considered the last two weeks to be the best two weeks she had ever spent with her husband. "We met some really nice people there too," the girl added a little more dreamily this time, obviously referring to the young Greek children they had met on the second night of their honeymoon.

Ferris gave a brief nod as Vianna agreed with him, explaining to Mr. Nordoff that their honeymoon had been the best two weeks ever, a statement he couldn't help but agree with wholeheartedly. "Oh?" Mr. Nordoff replied to the couple, turning his gray wise eyes back to them with a warm smile, listening as Vianna then mentioned that they'd met some really nice people in Greece as well, and his eyebrows rose slightly, "Like who?"

"These really great kids," Ferris replied with a warm smile, pulling Vianna a bit closer and glancing at her before turning back to Mr. Nordoff. "They live in the little Greek town next to our cabin, and we kept going back to visit them and their parents," he explained.

Vianna nodded her head slightly as Ferris told Mr. Nordoff about the people they'd met in Greece, a warm smile adorning her lightly tanned face at the memory of he friendly kids and their parents. The girl allowed a quiet silence to fall upon them for a moment before speaking again, "Um, Mr. Nordoff..." she started quietly, a little hesitantly as she wasn't sure exactly how much time Mr. Nordoff had before he had to head back home or to the bookstore. "Do you think you could accompany Ferris and I to his bookstore? It's alright if you can't right now, we can go another day, I just... I thought you should be there," explained the young girl.

Mr. Nordoff was just watching the pair with amused gray eyes when Vianna spoke, asking if he could accompany them to Ferris's bookstore, immediately explaining that they could do it another day but she just thought he should be there. A warm smile crossed his wrinkled features then and he gave a brief nod, "I actually came over here today with Nathan in the hopes that maybe we could go off to do just that," he explained with a soft chuckle, getting to his feet.

Ferris's brown eyes were sparkling at this idea, gently and reluctantly releasing his wife aso they could get there more easily, turning to look at the two of them with an expression of clear excitement. "Where exactly is it?" he asked, looking very much like a little boy.

Mr. Nordoff let out a soft chuckle, "It's in the town near your house here," he explained with a warm smile, obviously amused with Ferris's excitement. But he'd known the boy since he was just a boy, and knew how much the young man had always wanted a bookstore of his own. "I figured we could floo over there, since there's a fireplace right in there. I'll go first," he explained, stepping up to their large fireplace.

Vianna grinned as Mr. Nordoff shared with them that he had actually come over with Nathan in the hopes that they would go to Ferris's bookstore, something which fit perfectly with the couple's plans of heading over there right that day. "Great!" said Vianna before her curious husband went on to ask where the bookstore was, and Mr. Nordoff answered that for him before heading over to their fireplace, ready to apparate over to the bookstore. Once Mr. Nordoff was gone, Vianna walked in after him, grabbing a handful of floo powder with her right hand. "I think we can apparate together, c'mon," said the young girl, addressing both Ferris and Nathan. But she didn't want to run the risk of either one of them accidentally ending up somewhere else.

Ferris, who looked younger than Nathan as they both climbed into the fireplace after Vianna, let out a soft chuckle as she mentioned that they should floo together. "Probably for the best," he agreed, unable to help but get extraordinarily excited. They were going to his bookstore. His bookstore. It was all his. He could do whatever he wanted with it, he could stack the shelves however he wanted, place those shelves wherever he felt like putting them, fill it with the furniture he liked, hire the people he wanted to run it. It was amazing. He couldn't wait to see it, and he was nearly boucning on his toes as he and Nathan climbed into the fireplace next to Vianna, taking her hand with a warm smile on his pale face. "I can't believe you're getting a bookstore," Nathan muttered disbelievingly with a shake of his head, boyish amusement on his young expression.

Vianna couldn't help but giggle lightly to herself with amusement as a very excited Ferris joined her in the fireplace, closely followed by Nathan who was expressing his disbelief over this. The girl chuckled softly for a moment before releasing the green floo powder in her right hand, and just a second later the emerald green flames of a large fire had taken the trio and they disappeared from the Montgomerys' fireplace, reappearing in a new and equally large fireplace elsewhere, in a large empty lot very brightly lit by the morning sunlight streaming through the windows.

Vianna smiled to herself as she stepped out of the fireplace, the group's footsteps echoing in the empty space surrounding them. The shop was wider than it was long, it had wooden floors and white walls (to be painted, if they wished to have them painted); the whole storefront was covered in glass, almost making of the front wall a giant window that allowed generous amounts of sunlight to enter the shop; not only that, but when the shop would finally be set up, those passing by could really get a good look at what was inside. "We're here!" Vianna announced, as if that wasn't obvious already, dusting herself off as she wandered deeper into the empty shop, her blue eyes examining her surroundings as if seeing it all for the first time; but even if she had already seen the shop before, it had been a while ago and she'd almost forgotten what the space looked like.

Mr. Nordoff was already standing, gazing out the windows absentmindedly, when Ferris, Vianna, and Nathan arrived on the scene, the latter two already beginning to spread out along the empty shop. But the young man was still standing in the fireplace, his brown eyes opening to see the large, open space before him, empty of anything and completely blank, untouched. He froze there, rooted to the spot as he let his gaze drift over all of it from the large fireplace he'd flooed into. Wow. It was...beautiful, to say the least. His gaze rested on the sunlight streaming through the nearly floor to ceiling windows to the left of the fireplace he was still residing in, then letting his eyes drift over the bright white walls, all the way to the back of the store a good ways away. It wasn't a huge store, but it wasn't tiny either, it was the perfect size; just big enough to fill to the brim with shelves and books and chairs and everything his bookstore would need. He didn't seem to realize that he was still in the fireplace, leaning back against the back of it as his brown eyes turned dazed and the goofiest of grins fell onto his features.

Vianna took a moment to wander around the shop, to take in all of the details she'd missed during her first visit and admire the view outside of the many people walking up and down the streets. After a couple more moments of wandering around, the young girl turned back to the fireplace only to find her husband still standing there, looking rather dazed as one of those adorable goofy grins fell onto his pale face. Vianna giggled lightly at the sight, completely endeared by it as she made her way over to him, taking the boy's hand and leading him out of the fireplace. "Do you like it, Professor?" she asked a little hopefully, her crystal blue eyes sparkling up at the boy who, by the look on his face, didn't necessarily look like he hated the place, and that in turn made the young girl incredibly happy.

Ferris was only distracted from his review of the place before him as Vianna came into his direct line of sight, giggling and asking if he liked it, those blue eyes he loved so much sparkling up at him. "Mr. Nordoff...Nathan.." the young man started, his brown eyes never leaving Vianna's blue ones. "Would you mind giving me a minute with my wife?" he asked softly, "There's a great ice cream place down the street," he muttered absentmindedly.

"Of course, m'boy," the old man said with a grin, letting out a soft chuckle as he was obviously amused with the couple. He took Nathan gently by the shoulder and led him from the shop, starting down the street. It just took the sound of the door closing for Ferris to take Vianna's hand and pull her into the giant fireplace, enveloping her in his arms with a goofy grin and immediately placing his lips lovingly onto her own, the most genuine of excited gratefulness in his gesture.

Vianna's eyebrows rose slightly as Ferris asked Mr. Nordoff and Nathan to give him a minute alone with her, suggesting that they visit an ice cream parlor just down the street. The young girl chuckled softly at this and watched the pair walk out the door before turning back to her husband, who was still watching her, and her smile widened slightly. She was just about to ask the boy what that had been about before he suddenly pulled her into the fireplace and met her lips with his own, a gesture which the young girl had not exactly been expecting but felt pleasantly surprised to receive. She returned the kiss lovingly, able to feel the boy's excitement and gratefulness through it, something which got her lips to curve into a smile; but a couple moments later, she was pulling away, amusement in her crystal blue eyes as they fluttered open. "Does this mean you like it, Professor?" asked the young girl, just looking to be sure.
