The term has ended and now you’re stuck with two months of summer stretching before you. Freedom from essays, from potions, from star gazing. Now you can stay up late and go to bed early. You’re away from all the Professors who are crazy in love with each other and now it’s all about what YOU want to do. Or rather… what your parents let you do. School’s out for summer!

This takes place after Term 10 in the SS School RP. The term has ended so this is a way to play out the summer longer than available in Diagon Alley, and as a way for the graduated students to have a place to play. This is invite only, so if you haven’t been asked to come in, chances are you can’t join. If you have an idea for any characters that should be invited back, let me know and I’ll consider them. I can’t think of everyone, after all.

Naturally, the Rules follow SS Rules and you still have to use literacy (a major pet peeve of mine, really) We follow the School Plot, but I’m sure the most of you will be able to handle that. Anyone invited who plays a shop keeper or a helper will play them in here (as long as you wish of course) and if anyone would like to fill an empty spot, please do let me know.

The sun had made it to where Ashlie was seeing spots, so while Xavier informed her she'd been out on the dock about two hours as she gathered, she blinked them away, slightly mesmerized by the odd shapes and colours.

She quirked a brow at him again, a facial expression she quite enjoyed using. It was almost odd, him out here trying to get her to go into his boat. They hadn't really been good friends or anything while back at school. "How do I trust you?" she asked with a smirk. "You always were a rule breaker."

However, it was nice to be around people her age, people she'd gone to school with. She'd play it out, see how things went. Hope to Merlin he was over sixteen. (Shouldn't he be nineteen? twenty? she wondered)

Xavier chuckled. "Well, if you don't want to go," he said, pulling the cord and revving the engine. "I can go."

He revved it again, waiting to see if there was a reaction.

Absentmindedly, Ashlie bit half of her lower lip, chewing it with thought. When you came down to it, she hardly knew this boy (some Prefect she'd been). And yet, there really wasn't much else to do right now, and he was the first wizard or witch, aside Jamie and Bucky, she'd run into. A part of her yearned for the "Old School" ness of Hogwarts, the old students she'd known and all. Tilting her head to the left, squinting into the sun she nodded.

"You stop revving that engine and I'll go," she finally agreed, "You're as bad as the muggle boys I grew up around. Always revving their truck engines."

She grinned at grabbed her shoes as she stood up, eyeing the boat. Oh, Merlin. This was going to be fun getting into here. She probably should have worn shorts, as opposed to jeans, it suddenly dawned on her.

Xavier laughed and cut the engine, tossing the line over a post and pulling the boat in.

"Be careful when you jump in," he said, holding onto the dock to prevent water for splashing in. "We won't want any water coming into the boat, as it might prove bad when we're out on the water."

Oh. So. She WAS going to have to jump into the boat. How was she to trust that jumping into the boat wouldn't splash water in. Sure, it wasn't that far of a drop. And yet... this was probably where she should've told him she had a minor (aka, rather huge) case of height fright. Not that she would actually admit that, though (only Jamie knew that, and maybe Peony).

"So... I... just jump in?" she asked, blanching. Merlin! It was hardly a drop at all. Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes and stood around for another moment, probably looking utterly ridiculous. Taking one more breath, she step-jumped off the dock and landed with a bit of a shock in her knees, which nearly buckled beneath her. Fortunately, she grabbed onto the side of the boat to steady herself, gasping sudenly at the way the boat rocked on water.

She definetly was a land dweller. Probably would make a bad pirate.

"Arrrrr," she whimpered, opening her eyes.

Oh yeah. Bad pirate.

"Just get in easy," Xavier said, trying to keep the boat steady. "Boats rock when everybody gets in."

He held it steady while she climbed in. He wondered if she was somehow scared of the boat. Or him, for that matter. He had probably been a little friendly. Perhaps too friendly.

Oh well, in the past. It would be a nice boat ride where they could reminicise.

Easy for you to say, Ashlie grumbled in her mind as she tried to steady herself. Rocking boat. The boat was moving and floating and one part when up while the othe went down. Her stomach seemed to follow a similar pattern. Why, again, had she agreed to come in here?

She lowered herself to one of the seats, just so she didn't have to remain on her feet. At least sitting, all of her body was stable. Though her stomach was trying to clench itself up. She closed her eyes, once again, trying to get rid of the odd feeling.

"So... this.. is.... fun, huh?" she asked, eyebrows arched into her bangs. With one swift motion, she pulled her hair up into a poytail, getting it off her neck. Way too hot out here, she'd decided, as she rolled her pant legs up.

Xavier watched as Ashlie became more and more comfortable in the boat. "Are you sure you want to try riding in the boat?" he asked, double checking. "If you're uncomfortable you don't have to."

He remembered the first time he'd been in a boat. They'd put him on the stinking tube behind it and drug him around the lake. Oh, the terror.

Hmph! thought Ashlie and she straightened up in the boat, sitting tall, as if to say Hah! I am comfortable and I can do this you prat, which of course she didn't say out loud because she was a very mature (er... usually) adult. So she merely brushed back a loose curl, tucking it behind her ear and nodded.

"I'm perfectly fine," she said a bit sharply, her defenses suddenly rising to full height. She suddenly felt as she did back on the 'beach' where she'd run into Xavier (rather, he had run into her) where the defenses were flying wildly and she was wired. Hmmph. Like he thought he could tell her mood.

So what if he was right. She wasn't going to give him the satisfaction of knowing that.

"See? Perfectly fine. Fiiiiiiine. I'm not flailing or spazzing or shaking or knocking the boat around." No, nitwit, you're only rapidly talking and gibbering, making a right fool of yourself. Honestly. Calm down! He's not going to bite you.... I should very well hope....

Just in case though, she drew one hand to her neck, clasping it lightly, as though concealing a necklace or something as inconspicious (sp?) as that.

"Well," he said slowly. "I've never been there. But... do the Alps have bears? Maybe in the mountains in Colorado they don't live there?" He finished off, sounding more confused than he'd originally been. Count on Bucky to run circles round him.

He glanced up quickly at her weak voice though, spotting the panic in her eyes. His mouth fell open as he tried to think of a way to put it more mildly, that is, to lure her outside without her being afraid.

"Well..." he began, looking from her to the window. "I... mean... you know, get used to it and... look around. Maybe we can go get a drink from one of those little buildings... I think there's a little cafe and a small convenience store... we can go get some water... maybe their air conditioners work better!" He nodded energeticly, hair bouncing eagerly, as if the curls wanted the cool drinks as well.

A moment later, after nearly falling off the bed, he pulled up, curls high and stacked in a tower, almost, with a handful of Muggle money. "We need money to eat and get drinks and all," he replied reasonably.

He slid off the bed, shaking his head as Admiral Michael had, and his careful stack of curls crumbled and fell back into his eyes and aginst his neck. Mummy had been nagging at him about a hair cut, but he flat out refused.

Elena decided that she had spent enough time sitting around waiting for Jen to get off her butt and do something. And besides, the lake was just calling to her. She pushed herself to her feet, too quickly it seemed because it took her head a moment to catch up to her body, and strode across the room to grab a towel. The fact that there were various articles of clothing scattered everywhere didn't bother her. She knew that if she just left them there long enough someone would get frustrated enough and pick them up for her.

Towel in hand, she made her way down to the lake, not pausing to enjoy nature or any of that garbage. She disrobed quickly, stripping down to only her underwear. The fact that she wasn't wearing any sort of swimming garment didn't trouble her at all as she waded in, savoring the feeling of the water against her warm skin.

Bucky stepped away from the window unit and waited for Jamie by the door. The boy had certainly gotten taller. In fact, he was taller than her now. It seemed Bucky had grown all she was going to grow in her lifetime. Oh well, not everybody could be tall and lanky.

She blushed. Somehow, Jamie had gotten ahead of her. She should have thought about the money first. It was just the way things were. Now she felt daft and idiotic.

"Money, of course," she said her cheeks scarlet. "I knew that."

Even through her embarassment she noted how not only had Jamie grown in height but his hair was somehow growing too. It made sense. She always though his hair was independent from his body. It's very own beign.

Kirstie was laying in bed, the curtains drawn, in the middle of the day. She didn't really feel like moving, it was so hot. Why didn't she pick alaska as her holiday destination, she thought to herself

Chester had already raided the bar fridge and pilfered all the toiletries in the bathroom. He wanted to go outside and case the rest of the place. He went into the bathroom and changed into his board shorts, glancing at his pale complexion in the mirror.

He walked back out to see Kirstie still lying on the bed, staring at the ceiling. He sat on the bed next to her.

"Cmon Kirstie lets go swimming"

"Ugh" Kirstie said. She was not the swimming type. But then it was unbearably hot.

"Fine" she said, sitting up and poking Chester's back. She ran her hand down his spine then got up and went to get changed. She came back out wearing a fire red bikini that set off her green hair perfectly. She'd reluctantly bought it just before this holiday.

WOW... Chester thought as Kirstie came back out of the bathroom.
"You look amazing" he managed to say.

"I know" Kirstie said scoffing. She picked up her towel and lead the way out of the cabin, picking up her sunglasses on the way out.

Chester followed Kirstie into the bright sunshine and into the cool water of the lake. He spotted another girl in the water not too far away. He waved at the girl before diving underwater.

Kirstie looked at the other girl in the water carefully. She tried not to be overly posessive, but she didn't want any competition for Chester either. She had him wrapped around her finger, and that's exactly where she liked him.

Bucky chewed on the inside of her cheek with worry. It was only last summer when things started changing, at least for her and things just got odder and odder by the second.

Watching Bucky bold out of the cabin made Jamie pause momentarily. Was she really that hot? Or did she just want to get away from him? He bit his lip before running after her, unaware that Admiral Michael, too, was following.

Of course the cat followed though. He never went without being near his pet. That boy was a spazz and was bound to get into some kind of trouble. And, that usually meant food was nearby. His pet tended to drop food quite often and, Admiral Michael had to admit, he was hoping to find some Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans around. Ever since that nice Ravenclaw boy fed them to him back there.

Jamie hurried after Bucky, catching up to her within a moment.

"You okay?" he asked. "Your face is red, you're all flushed. You have a fever or anything?"

Sure, it was hot out, but he had to make sure. Mummy did it to him all the time anyway. He found the little path that lead down to the "Community Center", with the cafe and convenience stores, the benches, picnic tables, vending machines. As they neared the area, they passed by a paper which Jamie nearly overlooked.

He grabbed her arm to pull her to a stop. "Lookit," he said pointing at it. The flier said something about a "Community Party" a week from now, much like a block party, for all the Resort Residents. Buffet, dancing, music, performances, contests, and more.

"Think Ashlie will want us to go?"

The sun was giving into time and Bucky was thankful. She didn't like the idea of the blistering star beating down on her with it's dangerous waves anyways. Outside, she continued to sweat and she narrowed her eyes at the sun, shaking an angry fist at it.

"Fever? Of course not," she said irritated that he would fuss over her.

She was the one who did the fussing. Jamie, quit acting out of character. Bucky pouted and wished she hadn't worn a skirt after all. Skirts didnt have pockets therefore, she couldn't possible stash scrunchies inside them to tie her annoying hair. It was sticking to the back of her neck.

Staring at the poster, wide-eyed she glanced at Jamie. Surely, he would like to go. There was going to be music which meant Jamie would probably start dancing. She prayed he wouldn't make her dance too.

"I don't know. Probably," she said shrugging. "It looks like the kind of thing she would enjoy."

Max swam his customary laps along the shoreline before he actually noticed any other activity on the lake. He swam under the water for about 15 seconds before his feet finally touched the bottom and he broke for air.

Slowly, he began to wade through the water until it was waist deep and he looked about at the activity. Some loony was trying to operate a boat and . . . .

"Are you a mermaid or a beautiful mirage," he teased Elena who swam right into him.

Jamie noded eagerly as Admiral Michael wound his way around the boy's feet, most likely wondering when the food fall was going to happen. "We should tell her about it," he decided. "And she'll take us and we can go dancing! Wouldn't that be fun? We could teach people the Jamie Dance!"

His hair even seemed to wiggle as he bounced up and down. Suddenly, the heat wasn't even phasing him. The very idea of doing the Jamie Dance in a public place excited him, like the over eager puppies. It occured to him, for a moment, that Bucky's wide eyes might've been fear, but he decided she too must be excited.

"Let's go get a milkshake!" he said suddenly, grabbing her hand and tugging her down the path the rest of the way to the little cafe, with its umbrellas set up outside.

Elena's first thought upon running, or rather swimming, into someone was Wow he's muscular. Rising to the surface as gracefully as possible, she blinked until her vision cleared and she saw Max standing before her.

Grinning playfully she answered, "Sorry to disappoint but I'm neither." With one hand she brushed a strand of hair away from her face while trailing the other across the surface of the water.

Janelle was bored with trying to figure out the Muggle things so she decided to get a tan since she always did this on vacation. She got out of the shorts and tank top she was currently in to reveal a black bikini that complimented her blonde hair. Humming, she unfolded the chair she had brought with her and sighed as she sat down in it. She closed her eyes and let the sun's rays hit her skin so she could get that color she had wanted for a long time. Her thoughts dwindled from her former boss to the guy she had met in the lobby. Oh this was going to be very enjoyable.

She still thought it hazardous and only Jamie himself could pull it off although Jen had come very close to perfecting it. Speaking of Jen, Bucky wondered what happened to her. Of all the female kind, she was the only one Bucky could actually call her friend, everyone else was just annoying.

"I'm lactose intolerant, Jamie," she said rolling her eyes.

It was unusual for him to forget that but then again he was excited about this dance thing so she would forgive him, for now. Besides, she didn't feel like arguing. The heat was making her drowsy and tired and her legs and arms felt heavy. Maybe a nice shower and a nap would do her good, she thought as Jamie dragged her away.

Kirstie lowered herself into the water until it came up to her elbows. She got splashed slightly as Chester dived underwater, but she didn't really mind as long as that was as wet as her hair got.

Chester swam around a bit , flicking his purple hair out of his eyes occasionally. He noticed that Kirstie wasn't going any deeper than her elbows. He dived under, swum up behind her and pulled her legs out from underneath her.

Kirstie screamed as someone grabbed her from behind and pulled her under.
