The term has ended and now you’re stuck with two months of summer stretching before you. Freedom from essays, from potions, from star gazing. Now you can stay up late and go to bed early. You’re away from all the Professors who are crazy in love with each other and now it’s all about what YOU want to do. Or rather… what your parents let you do. School’s out for summer!

This takes place after Term 10 in the SS School RP. The term has ended so this is a way to play out the summer longer than available in Diagon Alley, and as a way for the graduated students to have a place to play. This is invite only, so if you haven’t been asked to come in, chances are you can’t join. If you have an idea for any characters that should be invited back, let me know and I’ll consider them. I can’t think of everyone, after all.

Naturally, the Rules follow SS Rules and you still have to use literacy (a major pet peeve of mine, really) We follow the School Plot, but I’m sure the most of you will be able to handle that. Anyone invited who plays a shop keeper or a helper will play them in here (as long as you wish of course) and if anyone would like to fill an empty spot, please do let me know.

Ashlie paused breifly for a moment before breaking out in laughter. Not just laughter, but the hysterical kind you get from too much chocolate and lack of sleep (which was exactly her diagnosis). "Ohhh... oh no," she laughed, eyes shut and hands holding at her side. "Oh no, I'm not married. The husband took all out money and ran away."

She nodded seriously for a moment, before breaking into even harder laughter. No, she couldn't do it. She couldn't be serious about it. She was nearly doubled in laughter.

"Me? Married? Hardly!" She once thought she'd be married to Nick one day, but distance kind of killed that. "No, see, I'm taking care of my friends little brother, Jamie. He's a muggle born so I take care of him and help him with his schooling. He has his friend Bucky with him."

Oh. That was too good.

"Cabin 20?" she asked. "I'll keep that in mind. 13 for me."

Jamie chuckled in amusement and watched his friend suck up the cool air. "Do that and I'll be the one to melt," he teased with a giggle. He smothered his face into the cool sheats while Sai pranced along his back. Crazy cat only wanted treats anyway.

"We won't," he said confidently, "run out of cold water. We'll be fine, I'm sure." He nodded, though his nod only looked like the shifting of dark curls in the white sheets.

"I wonder what we do for fun," he mumbled through the sheets.

Xavier wiped his brow, sorely embarassed. "Oh, well, I'm sorry. I wouldn't know."

He paused for a minute thinking one word; Awkward. "Well, I could come along later," he continued. "We could take the kids out if we wanted too. All have a fun day."

The way he said it he thought he had recovered from earlier. He smiled, waved and headed for his cabin. Once he got there, he opened the door and closed it behind himself. He had forgotten what it was like to associate with people...He'd have to do more of it. He'd been on his own too long.

Elijah laughed even harder and smacked his hand on his forehead. "Of course," he said. "That's what I meant as well," he winked at her and walked a bit further into the cabin. "This is an amazing place," he said. "The lake is so placid and calm... I love being in areas like this."

He followed her pointed finger to what was near the fireplace, and smiled. "Ah, that would be what you call a Television. I don't know if Professor Light ever talked about them..."

"You have your sheets," she reminded him. He could have his sheets she'll hog up the air con thank you very much.

However, she turned around and shoved him to the side softly making herself comfortable on the bed as well. The trip through the Floo Powder network had left her feeling a bit wiped out.

"For fun?" She repeated as she usually did in any conversation. It gave her time to think. "I say, the usual I suppose. Run around. Get dirty. Get attacked by bears."

"It has been tranquil here," Kay said as she pulled her hair back into a single ponytail and quickly fastened it into place. With her hair pulled up, the jagged red scars on her bicep and shoulder were visible: the worst ones were actually partially hidden by the tank top she wore.

She walked past him and stopped near a short hallway. "Oh, so that's what it is. The instruction manual that came with the cabin didn't say what it was, so I left it alone," she said brightly.

A chuckle escaped Ashlie as she mused over the way Xavier had phrased the suggestion. However, instead of pointing out that he made it sound like they were a family, she nodded at him and waved back. She watched him walk a bit of a way to his cabin, before turning the other way and heading for the docks. It was nice out there.

Once out there, she sat her lap top beside her and slipped off her shoes, her socks following, stuffing them into the converse. Then she proceeded to roll up her pants, giggling at her paleness, before dipping her feet into the cool water.

Strike that. Cold water.

She shivered but leant back anyway, arms stretched out behind her and face turned up to the sun. It was hot and there was a sort of mugginess to it, but she didn't mind much at this moment. She liked the peace. It reminded her of the Prefect's Lounge.

There was some kind of unnerving peace to being out here. She didn't much mind that. Except the unnerving bit of course.

"My sheets aren't blowing cool air," Jamie replied with a pout, his voice still muffled by the sheets. By now though, they were starting to warm up, his body heat canceling out the coolness.

"Lookit! You stole all the coolness," he said, teasingly blaming his exothermic body on Bucky. "Now we're going to die and Ashlie will come to find bears trying to break in and get out bodies."

He pulled his face up momentarily to stick his tongue out, before flopping back down on the pillow. "How do wizards and all keep cool? They can't use air conditioners, can they? Cos its electric and all."

I forgot where my priorities lie." he whirrled around on the spot and looked at her. "I didn't even write to my family. Not even Ashley, the only other person in my life I would die to protect."

He looked at her a moment more before turning back to gaze outisde the window. "I'm so sorry..."

Elijah looked down at Kay as she wriggled herself inbetween the window he was staring out of and himself. He smiled when he felt her hand over his heart. "Writing to them sounds like a fine idea," he said. "But before I do that..." he cuped her face in his hands and slowly kissed her. As he pulled away he whispered in her ear, "I just want to be with you."

Later in the day Xavier exited his cabin, wondering if he should drop by Ashlie's cabin and ask her if she and 'the kids' wanted to go on the boat ride, when out of the corner of his eye he spied her lying down on the dock, dipping her feet.

He walked over the boat rental shack and after closely inspecting the boat he rented pushed it into the water and started the motor. He conventely forgot the check the gas and to ask for a spare can.

He headed out onto the water, getting a feel for the boat until finally he pulled up on the dock. "Hey, you wanted to go boating, right?" he asked Ashlie, cutting the motor.

The rumble of a motor broke Ashlie from her little trance. She hadn't realized how long she'd bee out there on the dock, nor did she realize her cheeks had turned a nice pink from the sun. She'd discover that one later. For now, she opened her eyes and spied an obscured shadow in the horizon sun. After a moment more, she realized, duh, that it was a motor boat.

Xavier.

She knew instantly before she even saw the gender of the driver that it was him. There was an odd feeling that she pushed away. How did she even know it was him? It could have been anyone else.

"Hey there," she said, greeting him, putting a hand to her brows to sheild the sun. She'd fogotten how much she disliked the sun. "Wow, already out here? How long have I been out here?" She laughed and lifted her feet from the water, letting the odd coloured liquid drip for a moment.

"I don't know," he said, carefully bringing it into the dock so it wouldn't crash hard against it. "I was in my cabin for close to two hours before I rented the boat. Just got back from the test drive, it rides fine, I can assure you. No superstitous, non-working motors or anything. If there was, I'd be at the bottom of the lake now."

He smiled. Actually, the boat would be. He would have used some spell the get out. It was interesting how over the years he'd become so used to magic. It was weird.

The sun had made it to where Ashlie was seeing spots, so while Xavier informed her she'd been out on the dock about two hours as she gathered, she blinked them away, slightly mesmerized by the odd shapes and colours.

She quirked a brow at him again, a facial expression she quite enjoyed using. It was almost odd, him out here trying to get her to go into his boat. They hadn't really been good friends or anything while back at school. In fact, she was pretty certain that during the time the Ministry was running the school, she'd yelled at him for breaking some kind of rule.

"How do I trust you?" she asked with a smirk. "You always were a rule breaker."

However, it was nice to be around people her age, people she'd gone to school with. She'd play it out, see how things went. Hope to Merlin he was over sixteen. (Shouldn't he be nineteen? twenty? she wondered)

Bucky would have loved to stay annoyed at Jamie for a little longer but it seemed impossible at the moment. His laughter always had a cooling effect on her much to her dismay. She would have loved to give him a lecture about lying for selfish reasons as to annoy another person.

"It's not funny," she said glancing at him from the corner of her eye, frown and pout gone. "Bears are no laughing matter. They can maul you in a matter of seconds!" She added raising her hands like claws with a grave and serious look on her face, unlike her actual more animated tone of voice.

She crawled towards the end of the bed and sat on the edge. The window unit was aiming at her and the air that reached her, ruffled her medium length auburn hair. It was a nice feeling as the sweat on her scalp began to dry.

"You know I was kidding," Jamie said, shaking his head to feel the way the air rippled through his curls. It wsn't much, but it did help to cool him down a bit. A very miniscule bit. "No bears, at all. I dont think Ashlie would ever bring us to somewhere that we could get eaten by bears."

Then again, Ashlie dared the cooties and braved other horrindous obstacles. Like kissing. And living on her own. And having a job.

"We wooooon't diiiiieee!" he promised, shaking his head furiously and sitting up on the bed. I bet the air conditioner just hasn't been used in ages so it'll take a while to cool off. Seeee, the room has gone down, probably five degrees."
He noted that, once more, Bucky seemed to have taken over the air conditioner.

Very not fair.

"Maybe we'll go to the Alps next summer."

Bucky scoffed and stood up. Pacing the floor, head thrown back, eyes closed, she thought about the possibility of suffering from some kind of heat related illness. High blood pressure because of stress, heat stroke, blisters, dehydration, sun burn...and other outrageous thoughts were popping in all corners of her brain.

"Well, then stop mentioning them," she added already irritated at how many times they had mentioned those horrible hairy animals.

"Not good enough," she complained some more looking out the window in hopes of snow magically falling from the sky in the middle of summer. "It needs to go down at least ten more degrees."

She would have stood before the air conditioner but she was feeling reckless and continued her pacing, swinging her arms about.

"Good. Perhaps we'll find a Yeti," she said, quite confident of their existence.

Jamie arched a brow, a skill he'd been craftily attempting to master. Thus far, he could manage to arch his right brow without looking too much like a dork. Of course, the left brow still remained somewhat upward bound in a pretty comical way. However, Jamie never held this look for too long.

"The Yeti?" he asked, doubtfully. "You sure? Maybe... maybe we should go to Colorado instead?" Not that he really believed in the Yeti, but it was always nice to be safe and all.

"Maybe we should go outside for a bit," Jamie suggested. It was probably four in the afternoon, so they'd surpassed the extremly hot part of the day. "We can wait outside while it cools down, and when we come back in, it'll be even cooler."

He slid off the edge of the bed and Sai pranced over to him on his little chocolate Siamese toes, tail held high. He too, wanted the room to cool down. Or for the humans to leave. One couldn't be too sure.

Celestina stopped her pacing and raised a quizzical eyebrow at Jamie. Just what was he talking about? The Alps was a perfectly good place to vacation in. Think of all the cold snow and the extreme....skiing that would surely lead you to your untimely death.

"So," she said crossing her arms in front of her chest then releasing one as she waved her hand in front of herself, her elbow still resting against her ribcage. "This Colorado," she added sounding too casual perhaps. "Does it have bears?"

The Outside. She immediately looked out the window and felt panic rise in her chest. The trees, the grass, the bugs and the microscopic pollen particles all zoomed into her view as if there was nothing else around her but them.

"Outside?" She asked in a weak voice. "Wai--What? Outside?"

Max strolled out onto the private deck of his cabin wearing only a pair of swimming trunks. His ripped physique looked even more impressive with the nice tan he had been working on since arriving at the lake and he couldn't help himself but watch his reflection in the window as he flexed. "No wonder the ladies love me," he said to himself.

After a few minutes of admiring his perfectly toned and tanned physique in the window, he sauntered down to the lake and dove in.
