The term has ended and now you’re stuck with two months of summer stretching before you. Freedom from essays, from potions, from star gazing. Now you can stay up late and go to bed early. You’re away from all the Professors who are crazy in love with each other and now it’s all about what YOU want to do. Or rather… what your parents let you do. School’s out for summer!

This takes place after Term 10 in the SS School RP. The term has ended so this is a way to play out the summer longer than available in Diagon Alley, and as a way for the graduated students to have a place to play. This is invite only, so if you haven’t been asked to come in, chances are you can’t join. If you have an idea for any characters that should be invited back, let me know and I’ll consider them. I can’t think of everyone, after all.

Naturally, the Rules follow SS Rules and you still have to use literacy (a major pet peeve of mine, really) We follow the School Plot, but I’m sure the most of you will be able to handle that. Anyone invited who plays a shop keeper or a helper will play them in here (as long as you wish of course) and if anyone would like to fill an empty spot, please do let me know.

Max sighed and shook his head slightly. "Go ahead and tell her what you want but it may do more harm than good," he replied solemnly, "for the both of you." He straightened up and folded his arms across his chest. "You need to trust me on this particular matter if you truly care about her."

Kay turned around and noticed Elijah was having a serious conversation with the shopkeeper. What are the two of them talking about? she thought as she watched them and noted that the shopkeeper was no longer smiling.

"Elijah? I think I know which broomstick I want," she said brightly as she motioned to the new Nimbus model. "Why don't you come over and take a look at it?"

Elijah considered Mr. Vindictus for a moment, when he heard Kay's voice call out to him from over his shoulder. He gave her a smile and a nod, "Well then it's sure to be a fantastic choice of a broom," he said, "Of course I'll come take a look at it." And he walked over to where she stood near the new Nimbus model where she indicated.

"This looks really great, Kay," he said looking the broom over. "Of course I don't really have the best knowledge when it comes to brooms. You know me and my erm... lack of flying skills," he cleared his throat and laughed lightly.

All the while, Elijah kept glancing back at the Shopkeeper as he stood behind his sales counter, watching him and Kay.

"This is the one I was reading about and it outstrips that old Firebolt model I had," Kay explained and grinned. "Do you think I should get it or save some Galleons and get the Cleansweep?" she added as she looked at him. "Erm . . . is something the matter, Elijah?"

"Wha--?" he said and turned his full attention to Kay at this time. "Oh nothing's the matter, I was just um... Thinking about the other school books we need this year," he said. "Don't want to forget anything do we?"

He looked over the new Nimbus model and commented to Kay, "I think a splurge is necessary; clearly this will definately do the job plus some more during the season. I think you should get it," he added with a grin.

A loud crack was heard in the middle of the streets of Diagon Alley and Count Andrei Vannacutt appeared in front of the bookstore. He brushed off a speck of imaginary dust from his imaculately cut black robes and looked around at the wizarding community with disdain evident on his handsome, but haughty features.

He looked down at the silver pocket watch he carried and saw that his son was 5 minutes late. "Typical behaviour." he said in a terse voice to nobody but himself.

Striding over to a pebbled archway, Andrei bent slightly to enter the dark and dingy pub called the Leaky Cauldron. Walking to the counter, he waited for the proprietress to appear, while slapping his gloves on his thigh in an obvious show of impatience.

Peony looked blank for a moment while she tried to understand the slurring. Boreas hooted, which could have been taken for an owl's way of giggling, and fluttered around Ashlie's head. He tried to take a curl for a nest.

"Boreas, stop that, you've got no one to make a nest for," said Peony. She reached for her wand, deciding to cast a sobering spell. It wouldn't be very nice. The sobering spell fast forwarded the normal effects of alcohol, which meant Ashlie would experience about five minutes of a hangover all squashed together. Oh well.

The sizzle of a cast spell sounded above the din in the Leaky Cauldron.

Andi came out of the bank, shaking her head. There was, however, a satisfied smirk playing around her mouth. Her purse felt pleasantly heavy, and with her job at Hogwarts, Andi was probably quite well-provided for now. Well-provided enough to get herself a drink in the Leaky Cauldron without having to go live on mushrooms for two weeks.

She walked in, her small, sharp figure cutting through the smoky background like a particularly nasty knife.

It was a good thing that Ashlie hardly had anything to drink (lightweight as she was) and it was a good thing she had only been tipsy and not overly drunken so that when the headache drilled into her temples, it was hardly more painful than when she'd sleep in until 5 pm and couldn't open her eyes. Nonetheless, her hands clamped to the sides of her head and her eyes squeezed shut as she tried to bear the pain.

"Ohhhherrgh!" she moaned. "Ohmimerlin!" She sank down to the ground, pulling her legs to her chest and tucking her skirt neatly so as not to flash anyone her underware. "My Merlin!" she gasped. "My heeeeeeeaaadddd!"

Aero noted the impatient man with displeasure. Why couldn't they just come hit the bell? That's why it was there. She walked over to him, forced her smile on her face and pushed back a loose lock of auburn hair. "May I help you?" she asked in a sickeningly sweet voice.

"Merlin," she moaned. "Dancing... counter..." Her face was red with shame and humiliation as she leant back against the counter. "Wow... that..." She shook her head and realized Jacques had helped her up. "Ohmimerlin! Oh... sorry! Sorry Jacques... oh... you're probably so ashamed now..."

She groaned and shook her head slowly, trying to shake off the headache, which in turn only made it worse.

He bit his lip and glanced over at Ashlie, watching her friends fuss over her and smiled. That was much better. He wasn't sure he was ready for drunken Ashlie yet.

"Good thing you drank so much," she said to Ashlie cheerfully, picking up a carrot and staring at it. "You gave me the perfect oppurtunity, I mean after the last time, I barely dared lift my wand, I - ow!"

She doesn't want to know.

"The last time?" Ashlie asked. Of course she asked, curiosity sometimes got the better of her. Besides, thinking about something other than her headache was good for her. She arched her brow at the random Ow. Probably the Voice. But how much damage could the Voice honestly do?

"Hey there... Bor," Ashlie said to the flittering owl. She'd always kind of liked the owl, even if he had the weirdest facination for her hair. It could be worse though. Grimwald liked to try and eat her socks. That was unpleasent.

Peony smiled, a little sheepishly at Ashlie, "I don't think you want to hear about the last time. It's the kind of thing they don't let the little kids watch. Heh." She shrugged, her flyaway appearance making her look younger than she actually was.

Boreas hooted happily as Ashlie noticed him. He bobbed at her curls again and pulled MUCH HARDER. Grimwald almost snickered. Since Peony had turned him into a human, Grimwald found it easy to have human reactions. It was scary, because cats are so much smarter than hairless apes. And Grimwald's genes remembered more clearly than most when, once upon a time, his kind had been the sort to gnash wee little apes between their saber teeth. Beauty, brains and brawn, that was the ticket...

Ashlie cried out in a bit of pain as the owl pulled at her hair. She darted away from the owl, sending him a furtive glance. "Mr. Owl," she said, shaking her head. "Cute as you are, you can't get away with trying to nest in my curls."

Her hand shot to her head, smoothing out the lock of hair that had been yanked on. What was with the owl and her hair, anyway. She shook her head once more, glancing over at Peony. "Are you trying...." she began, before falling quiet. Maybe it was best she didn't question what Peony had been speaking of. Perhaps she shut up for a valid reason.

"So. What brings you to Wizarding London this time of year?" she asked lightly, smiling faintly. The headache was starting to fade away and she didnt really feel nauseaus. Hurrah!

"Jamie wrote to me and said that you were all going to be here," answered Peony cheerfully. "And let me tell you, it's great to be back in Merry Olde England. Malaysia was... nice." Traumatizing, but nice. "But I'm glad to be back."

She glanced at Boreas and laughed, sounding like marbles made of water clinking together. "You should just give him a curl. He wants to use it to make him and Grimwald a home, isn't that right, oo ickle schweetie pie?"

Boreas blinked at her.

Ashlie arched a brow at her friend and her baby talk, staring dumbly. She glanced then quickly at the owl, who didn't seem to be taken on it either. "Uhm... yeah..." she said slowly. "He wants to make a bed with my hair?" She eyed the owl, as if this idea seemed ridiculous and perhaps the owl could somehow verify this for her.

"You want my hair?" she asked him, feeling as if it were incredibly impossible. Did he even understand her?

Ashlie?" Julia asks after a moment or two, recognizing the name but not really sure of who it was. "Who is Ashlie?" Following Jamie's glance over to the two girls she threw carrots at, Julia smirks. "Do you know them?"

"You really think so?" Kay answered excitedly and threw her arms around Elijah, hugging him briefly. "Why don't we go tell the shopkeeper that I've made up my mind and don't forget to remind me to ask him about mailing the broom to the school. I would feel awkward walking around Diagon Alley carrying a broomstick."

Jamie watched Julia's face contort with disgust. That emotion was very obvious. He still couldn't understand though, why she was so hung up on this boy. The cooties! He'd even TOLD her about cooties! He shot a look at Bucky as if to say "Some kids just don't know."

"Yeah... that one with the curly hair," Jamie nodded, pointing Ashlie out. Thank God she wasn't flailing about all drunken like now. Instead, she seemed to be being chased by an owl. "I donno. Do you know them?" Jamie was aware that Julia had been at the school longer than him, therefore, when Ashlie and her friends were there.

Aero nodded at the request and a smirk grew on her counter. How she liked the trouble the Firewhiskey got every one into. It seemed no one could drink it and stay sane. She turned around and walked over to Cook and told him to get an order made and the man nodded obediently, as always.

The Special happened to be simple that day. A vegetable beef soup with a crusty bread for dipping. Not exactly English, Aero knw, but she knew cuisine and it came from everywhere. The Leaky Cauldron would soon be famous for world cuisines.

She walked over to where he sat and sat the bottle of Firewhiskey down with a shot glass and nodded. "Careful with that," she advised. "It's stronger than you'd think." And with a wink, she set off back for the bar.

Grinning to himself, Andrei took a slow sip of the firewhiskey and choked lightly. Staring at the label on the bottle, he shook his head to clear his head. "What in Agrippa's name?" he mused as he took in the age of the whiskey.

Aero watched the man from behind the bar, anticipating his first drink. And when he sputtered and coughed, a wide grin broke across her face. Oh, how she liked it when people ordered the Firewhiskey. She pulled out her rag and rubbed away at the bar, smoothing out the smudges. She really couldn't stand those smudges.

OoC: I miss her too. I recall this girl named Nabiya I used to talk to. She was super awesome! Shame she isn't on MSN right now I miss her.
