It's the summer after Helena Crawley graduated from Hogwarts and she's off to America to visit her boyfriend of a year and a half - Chris. So much as happened since they'd been apart the past year, though - will things stay the same? Or will the two fall apart with the addition of their new acquaintances?

Helena had completely checked over her room three times before she was forced to conclude that everything was in her suitcase. She changed into her favorite pair of jeans, a white cotton tank top, and an orange plaid shirt. She grabbed her suitcase by the door and slowly opened it. She stepped out into the hallway and slowly made her way to the living room. Chris wasn't looking at her and Lena swallowed. Hey, she said tentatively as she sat down the suitcase once more.

As soon as Chris heard Lean coming into the living room his throat tightened. He licked his lips but didn't turn to her. "Hey." He said softly not being able to say much of anything else. Suddenly everthing else but Helena seemed more interesting. "Ummmm...so do you know where you are going?" He asked quietly still not daring to look at her know once he did his heart would just break again....

Helena looked down when she realized that Chris wasn't going to look at her. As her gaze dropped, she saw the necklace he had given her on the ground in a heap that appeared to have been thrown there. Uhhh, not fully.... I think I'm going to head up north, try out Canada for awhile, she said with equal quietness.

Chris finally turned back to look at Lena. "Canada? Where in Canada?" He asked raising an eyebrow. He still didn't take his eyes away from her. Gulp. "We will remain friends right???" He asked in a voice that almost couldn't be heard. He couldn't lose her as a friend as well!!!! He cared about Lena to much for that....

Helena looked back up as Chris spoke again, but she shook her head slightly. Ontario for now.... around Port Dalhouise first, I think. I visited as a kid and always liked it.... she shrugged slightly, but then she heard his question. She swallowed and nodded after a moment with a very small, brief smile. Yeah, definitely, she said.

"Ontario." Chris said. "That sounds good. Sounds like a place you would like." He said softly still turned to Lena. He studied her everything about her not knowing the next time he would see her once she left. Would he ever see her again??? One corner of Chris's lips move up at her answer. "Good I'm glad." He said though the small smile did not last long at all.

It was a place she liked - Helena's most memorable trip as a kid - but it wouldn't fill the hole that would be left after this, she was sure of that. She nodded at his words, but she couldn't think of anything else to say. They were having a surprisingly civil conversation with no anger or tears, so how did she go about saying goodbye without ruining that? For her, though, Lena seemed to be beyond tears at this point. She didn't know if the same was true for Chris.

Chris just nodded along with Lena. Okay sooo this was goodbye time or what??? Hmmmmm. He stood up and walked over towards Helena. He was done with crying he was probably going to end back to his 'not showing to much' emotion self. "Ummm. So are you heading to the airport now or what?" He asked quietly his eyes studieing her.

The airport? Helena hadn't really considered using muggle transport to get around, but, maybe at first, that would be better - planes always did tend to calm her down. She looked up to see Chris studying her just as she said, Yeah, yeah.... I'll be heading to the airport. ....errrr awwwwwwwwkward!

Chris noticed how it kind of made Lena look weird at him as he studied her. Righhhhht it was kind of awkward.....He quickly moved his eyes away from her in sligthyl embaressed. "Wait you can just apparate I forgot." He said not even making a joke at his own stupid mistake like he normal would have.....He didn't know what else to say he just bit his lip waiting for something to happen...

I could, Lena admitted with a small frown and shrug before continuing, But I am going to go to the airport. I need to fly, she muttered more to herself than to Chris. She hadn't told anyone about her thing for airplanes, and now wasn't the time, but she needed to do this.

Chris just nodded to her words. Not even thinking about asking why she needed to fly or anything. "Well if you want you can take my car there it's easier thant he subway or taking a ton of buses. Or you could just apparate...But anything I can do to help just let me know...." He offered as he slipped his hands into his pockets. He would normally offer to drive Helena himself but that would just be to weird for both of them and Chris knew enough not to ask that.....

Lena smiled, happy to find that she didn't have to force it, but she shook her head. I'll be fine.... thank you, she added to Chris before she glanced away from him for a second and then took the few steps forward to hug him. She hoped she wasn't overstepping any newly-set boundaries, but she couldn't just leave. I'm so sorry.... and thank you.... for everything, she said quietly, knowing he would probably understand the 'everything' to be more than just staying at his house and not kicking her out when they broke up the night before.

All Chris could do was nod as Lena said she would be fine even though she was smiling towards him. But not long after did he feel her arms around him. He was slightly taken aback at this. She was hugging him even though they were broken up??? Chris carefully placed his arms around her and hugged her back. Maybe it wasn't as close or tight as before but things were different now..."I should be the one thanking you. You will never know how much you have done for me." He whispered to Lena honestly.

Helena felt the hesitancy in Chris's return of the hug, but it was to be expected and she was happy to find that it didn't bother her much. She didn't object to his words - she knew too well that Lena had pretty much kept him sane after Mel died, and she wasn't about to go bringing that up. And you as well, Chris. I can't be more honest than that. She carefully tiptoed up and kissed him once lightly on the cheek before pulling out of her hug, leaving one of her hands in his. I hope we see each other again, she said, one of the tears in her eyes betraying her and falling down her cheek as she gave his hand one last squeeze, let it go, and disapparated from the house.

Chris heard Lena return his words and he knew that she was telling the truth. So he just nodded. But not soon after did he feel Helena place a soft kiss on his cheek. He shut his eyes and the feeling of her soft cool lips on his cheek. Though he felt her soon pull back from him and his eyes reopened just to find that Lena let a tear roll down her cheek. "I hope to see you too. We need to keep in touch though." He said softly with a gulp. Then out of now where Lena was gone.

Chris sighed and felt his eyes glace over with tears that he wouldn't let fall over. He quickly walked towards the door and out of the apartment. He was heading to the recording studio. Though the night before he told Danny he couldn't go. Chris just couldn't sit there and wallow in self pitty. Music was now the only thing he had to focuse on....
