Harry shook his head, which he shouldn't have done as it only made the pain increase. He'd have to deal with it. "No, it's not you," he replied. "Other people can't make it hurt. This only happens when..." He paused, not really sure if he should talk about his mind connection with Voldemort with these two, especially out in the open like this. There were few people here in the library, but still. "There's just certain instances when this happens," he finally said, wondering if Tariana would let him leave it at that.

"Can Voldemort make your scar hurt?" Tariana murmured, wondering aloud. Ever so gently she reached up to lightly trace her finger along his scar. He might've thought she was crazy, but she was fascinated by Harry and his The Boy Who Lived status. She locked eyes with Harry; he had startling green eyes for a human.

Jacob leaned moodily against the wall. Was she seriously openly flirting in front of him? He shook his head, no, she wouldn't do that to him. Tari wasn't cruel or heartless, she probably didn't even realize she was doing it. But it certainly irked him, and it took every ounce of control he had to not transform and rip Harry's head off.

Harry was surprised when Tariana guessed the correct answer so quickly. Perhaps it was more obvious than he realized. He nodded in response and was surprised when she suddenly reached up and touched his scar. It could have been his imagination, but the pain suddenly seemed to fade a little. Not completely, as his head was still throbbing a bit, but it seemed a little less intense. It was possible that Voldemort was just messing with his mind again, though that was unlikely. Dumbledore had told him that the Dark Lord wouldn't want to enter Harry's mind again after the battle at the Ministry of Magic last year when Voldemort had possessed him. Still...

Tariana's gaze locked onto Harry's, stopping that thought process. She had such lovely eyes...

Tariana seemed to have some unknown understanding as Harry nodded his head. Remembering that her touch was a lot hotter than the average human's, she pulled her hand back. "Sorry," she whispered.
She began to think about Voldemort. He was an evil and dark wizard, but she wasn't scared of him. She wondered if Harry was. "Does Voldemort scare you?" she questioned, her eyes still blazing into his.

Harry hadn't really noticed the high temperature of Tariana's skin. The throbbing pain in his head along with her eyes distracted him from it. He heard her ask if he was afraid of Voldemort, and at first he didn't respond. That was an interesting question. Was he afraid of Voldemort? Was he afraid of the wizard who'd killed his parents along with so many other innocent, good people? Was he afraid of the wizard who had more than enough power to destroy everything and everyone he cared about and who was more than willing to actually use that power?

"No," he finally decided. "I'm not afraid of Voldemort." Because he knew of another, more powerful wizard who was on Harry's side: Dumbledore. And as long as he had Dumbledore, there was no reason to be afraid of Voldemort.

Tariana's eyes trailed across Harry's face while he was quiet. She wondered if he'd answe her, and right when she had that thought, he did. She wasn't surprised by his answer. "Good," she responded. "You have no reason to be. I have faith in you; I know you'll rid the world of him someday." Smiling at Harry, she stepped back slightly, giving him room to breathe.

Harry returned her smile. It was always nice to know someone believed in him. Sure, he knew many people did, but it was nice to actually hear it every now and then. "Thanks, Tariana," he said.

Harry was smiling. Actually smiling. He hadn't done that really since they had been talking. Tariana beamed, her smile bright enough to light up the world. "You're welcome, Harry," she responded, reassuring him by gently touching his arm as a friendly gesture. She let go shortly after, stepping back. Harry was one of the good humans and Tariana liked him a lot.

Harry found that he liked Tariana a lot. Not in a romantic way, of course, but as a friend. Sure, she was a bit strange sometimes, but hey - he was strange too. Being the Boy Who Lived wasn't exactly commonplace or anything. They fit in quite well together.

It was only then that Harry realized he was still holding a book in his hand. "Better put this back," he said as he set the book back on the shelf.

Tariana nodded. "Well, it's getting late. I should get going," she said. Turning back to Jacob, she gave him the 'thirsty' look. "It was nice seeing you again, Harry." She flashed him another smile. Stepping back so that she was next to Jacob, she took a hold of his arm. "See you later!" And with Jacob in tow, she headed out of the library, down the stairs, through the hall and outside. Once they were engulfed in the darkness of night, she turned to Jacob and said, "I need to feed. Now! I don't know what's wrong, but I'm becoming more and more thirsty as time goes on. This is NOT a good sign!" She was near frantic.

"See ya Harry!" Jake called as Tariana dragged him outside. Hearing her he took hold of her arms and turned her to face him, "Relax, I'm sure it's nothing." he replied evenly, though he himself was freaking out. He didn't know what that meant, he made a mental note to send a letter to Carlisle asking. He was worried about her now. He dropped one arm and the other hand reached for hers, pulling her along with him. "C'mon, I'll go with you in wolf form."

Tariana let out a low growl. "You don't even know, Jacob!" Now he was pulling her. "You're not moving fast enough," she hissed. Pulling from his grip she tore off into the night, darting into the forest. She didn't even pause to sniff the air like she usually did; she allowed her hunting instincts to yank her to the closest prey. She tackled a deer so quickly that it didn't even know what hit it as she cleared its body of blood. Once she pulled back, she was still thirsty. So thirsty. The feeling set her throat on fire, like a thousand knives were being shoved deep into her mouth. Luckily another deer was heading this way; a baby deer. It was looking for it's mother. Tariana quickly pounced him, draining his blood. Pulling back, she collasped on the ground. There. The pain was muted. For now.

Jacob quickly transformed as she took of from him and ran into the forest, he followed after her. He followed her scent and finally found her collapsed on the ground. He ran forward and nudged her with his muzzle, a whine in the back of his throat.

Tariana leaned into Jacob as soon as he was next to her. Whipping her mouth off with the back of her hand, she said, "This is not good, Jake. Not good at all. I had to feed twice tonight. In a row. Don't you realize how dangerous that is?" She was so upset that she wanted to cry.

Jacob stood, making sure he wasn't letting her fall, he ran into the dark then transformed back into human form. He came back out and sat next to her, wrapping his arm around her waist so she could lean against him. "I'm sorry love." he didn't know what else to say, he was worried about her though, incredibly worried.

Tariana blinked back tears. "I just wish I could go one day without hating myself or having a breakdown." She curled into Jacob's arms, leaning her head on his chest and closing her eyes. Her breathing became even as she calmed down. "I swear, your scent has healing powers. You always calm me down, no matter what my problem is." She kissed his shoulder blade.

Jacob sighed and placed his head on her's. "I know Tariana," he replied, there were days he hated himself too, but not every day. He had some days where he felt almost...normal. "I'm sorry Tari, I know you feel like that, but just know, no matter how much you hate yourself, I'll always love you. And I'm here for your break downs." he smiled, damnn, he sounded cheesy now! He chuckled hearing her, "I know, I'm just amazing like that."

Jacob might've thought his words were corny, but Tariana didn't. "I know you'll always be here. I love you too." Turning her head up, she kissed him. She leaned back down so her head was back on his chest. "You really are amazing. I swear, your scent is like comfort oxygen. I wish everything had your scent." She didn't even disagree with him or call him cocky; she merely agreed with him.

Jacob kissed her back when she turned her head towards him and pressed her lips to his, could life get any better than being with her? He thought not. Jacob chuckled hearing her, "Not as amazing as you..." he replied softly, he thought it was true, but she probably disagreed. Then hearing her comment about everything smelling like him he laughed, "Jacob scented eh?"

Tariana just shook her head, smiling. Jacob would never agree that she wasn't as amazing as he was, and she honestly didn't have the energy to argue with him. "Jacob scented is my favorite scent in the world." She took Jacob's hand in both of hers: he was so much bigger, so much safer. It was like she was a shack and he was a mansion. It wasn't fair. "Jake, I feel like I'm losing myself. Like I'm losing control of my life."

Jake sighed and kissed the top of her head, "I'm sorry Tari..." he wasn't sure what he could say to make her feel better. "Does anyone ever actually have control over their lives? If you think about it, life gives us what we're dealt, and we can't exchange it. It's ours for the keeping and we have to live with it." Great, now he was pulling some philosophical crap from God knew where.

Tariana laughed, the sound near hysterical. "Don't you understand what I am? I am half vampire, half human. I'm indestructable. I feed on life. Why is it that I can take life, but I can't take control of my own life? That doesn't make sense." She shook her head in disbelief.

Jake ran a hand frustratedly through his hair. "I do understand what you are Tariana, and I know it doesn't make sense. Why would it? No one here is supposed to exist. I'm not, your not, Harry, Draco and Jude shouldn't either. The world isn't supposed to have people like all of us, who are different. Do you think ANY of us asked for this?" Did she think he wanted to be a werewolf? He didn't. It ruined his relationship with people who weren't and it near cost him his best friends long ago. He didn't ASK for any of this. Sure it could be cool, but he wanted to be a NORMAL teenage guy.

Tariana flung herself up and out of Jacob's arms before she could blink. She stood tall, her eyes glaring down at him. "Don't you dare bring the humans into this. They're HUMAN. There is NOTHING wrong with their lives. They have nothing to do with us, and they cannot be compared to us." Out of anger, she gripped a tree and ripped it out of the ground, flinging it away. "Since when can a human do that?" She let out an animalistic growl and crossed her arms, pacing.
