They say opposites attract, and this pair are as opposite as they come, but isn't it also true that we look for reflections of ourselves in others as well?
William Williamson and Jade Flamsteed share very little in common: they both are Scorpios, they attended Hogwarts together, they have a soft spot for a certain Herbology professor, they both fail in romance, and they adore their canine companions. That very Herbology professor (we're looking at you, June Flamsteed) sprung the surprise of a chaperoned "blind date" on the due in her joint apartment with Jade at Christmas time 2102...and let's just say it was an awkward encounter with a delicious homecooked meal. But something sparked and by the end of September 2104 the pair realized they failed at romance a little less as long as it was together. After six years together of doggie dates, reupholstering furniture, sassy squabbles, personal healing and personal development, creating a dog furnishes & accessories business and partnering with Doggy Daycare ... William and Jade took the next great step in their relationship...

William kicked open the door to their cottage, his hands full of his beautiful bride even though this was a few days after their wedding and the whole crossing-the-threshold thing had been done already. "You may NOW take off your blindfold!" he declared, gently lowering Jade to the ground so her feet could touch the floor of their cottage.
He'd given her no clues at all about their location, despite the somewhat long and tricky portkey journey, but here they were in beautiful New Zealand for no particular reason and definitely not because he had a lead on how to see an Antipodean Opaleye. Listen. This was a beautiful scenic country with many things to do, and... one of them was dragons. But he had many things planned besides dragons, soooo... He shoved his hands in his pockets and nervously waited for Jade's reaction. And then he'd go grab the portkey to move it and their luggage inside.

There were a few things Jade loathed. One was being unnecessarily doted on - she was perfectly capable of opening her own doors and pulling out her own chair, thank you. Another was surprises. How utterly ironic it was that this was beginning with both...and her not minding. Well, not minding all that much she would qualify. She minded a little and found him utterly ridiculous with the insisting that he carry her, again. However, he had been nothing less than an exuberant golden retriever about this trip and with this was her second chance at marriage ... she would be a good sport about it.
Also, William. Portkey travel with a blindfold on during certain legs was something she would highly recommend they never do again.
"At last," she breathed out, relief washing over her as her stomach settled a bit more. Enough so that she would not be too wobbly on her feet at least. Whether it be portkey, floo, or apparition...Jade did not have the strongest of stomachs for all the magical lurching but enough grace to not compromise her calm exterior. Smoothing down her dress and pulling the pin out of her hair to allow the loose bun to fall free with black silky locks cascading over her shoulders, Jade took her first look at their accommodations and the view. "Oh, William," she murmured while taking a step forward to set her bag down on a windowsill. "...it's absolutely breathtaking..." She turned to face him and smiled before laughing at his boyish posture and swiftly moved to him. "You can relax, William" she laughed softly while draping her arms loosely over his shoulders. "This is wonderful. Truly."
