Vacation Time at Saarik Manor!

It's the Christmas holidays after Chandan Vaill Saarik's ~~sixth~~ seventh year. After the discovery that he and his ultimate best (and sort of only) friend were in love - helped partly by Chandan's supposed flight from all known elements - and their graduation, he invited her around for Christmas, knowing that she would be alone after family circumstances.

The RP will start with Chandan waiting with his family for Laylee's arrival at the Manor - named Utocrulas - which is imposing and has a deserted, neglected look about it - a look of history.

Characters~:

Chandan Vaill Saarik (plus Phoenix, the annoying blue toad) ~ LonelyLupin
Laylee ~ Keysquah
Phoenix Edge Saarik; Miles Saarik; Perfecterie Saarik - part of a Quadruplet - ; twins and widowed (single) twin - younger sisters - ; three older sisters and the two parents ~ LonelyLupin (bearing in mind that they will not all be RP'd at once, and some mostly cannot, being either too young or away from home)

As the doors slid open Laylee grabbed the luggage she could carry and stepped out, still keeping herself close to Chandan. She chuckled as he mentioned the terrors of going down, telling herself that she would never do that... She made a note in her mind to remember the word Ovanius, but she highly doupted she would take the lift without Chandan!
Laylee looked up the stairs and suddenly the thought of his room interested her. Her bedroom was filled with sketches, mostly of Chandan, and other diddledads she loved. She wondered what his room would be filled with?
Laylee's eyes traveled to the door Chandan was looking at and she looked up at him. "Is that my room?" She asked.

"It is indeed." Chandan replied to Laylee's question, reluctantly removing his arm from around Laylee and making his way to the door.

"Only a few of the doors have locks, but yours has a spell in case you want some additional privacy and don't want anyone forgetting you're in there and just walking in - though I doubt any of us would do that, Malcolm and Romulus and my older currently absent sisters might forget." Chandan rolled his eyes jokingly, and continued. "To lock the door, say elovera, and to unlock it say arevole, which is the opposite wording of locking it. They're not the same spells you'd usually use to lock or unlock a door, because they're specific to this door in particular. I've left a note on your beside table with the spells on, in case you forget. Oh! One last thing - remind me to give you a key. Some of the doors are always locked to stop my younger sisters from ambling in and wrecking havoc, so if you encounter a door that can be unlocked with the key feel free to go in. All the explicitly private rooms have no lock but spells instead."

Chandan took in a deep breath, and chided himself for basically talking non-stop. Without further ado, he added, "it's not locked at the moment," and indicated for Laylee to open the door herself if she so wished.

(Inside the room, Chandan knew, would be eloquent decorations, but not so much so that it was gaudy. He knew that it was a ocean blue mixed with mossy greens along the walls, which were elaborated in such a way that it seemed like the walls were soft to the touch. There would be an old, rustic desk with writing equipment and ample room for other belongings. There would be a mirror on a neat dressing table by, but not in front of, the window. The window would be airy but not draughty, with a view that would proudly show the back of the Manor and its large acres of fields, woodlands and a trickling stream that could just be seen by a large hedge that just hid the rest of the garden, though it would not from Chandan's attic-room. The curtains would be a creamy faded cyan, and the floor would be wooden with carpeted circles dotted around irregularly. The ceiling would be enchanted to look like stars, though they were not real. And the bed would be cushy and extremely soft with warm and furry blankets in case it got cold. Beside the bed on the beside table was a small, Christmassy-wrapped parcel and a note that held the spells for the door. It was perhaps a little over-done, but Chandan had wanted it to be as nice as possible for Laylee.)

Laylee again made a note of the two spells in her mind. She wouldnt want to get locked out of her room. As Chandan talked about the key he needed to give her, she smiled. How exciting. A key of her own so she can wonder the house. Though, for some reason she just wanted to spend all her time with Chandan. She had been having this new desire ever since they first stepped into the elevator. Laylee suddenly realized she had been staring at him dreamy-eyed for the past few silent seconds. She blushed pink and remembered to pay attention.
Chandan motioned for her to open the door and a smile appeared on her face. Laylee turned the doorknob and pushed the door open. She looked around, amazed by her room for the holiday. What a wonderful place to stay! So peacful and beautiful. Laylee looked around, realizing that this room... was her perfect room. It had just the things she liked. Colors. Furniture. Everything. Laylee turned on him smiling. "Thanks." She said, knowing he had done this for her. Laylee stepped in and put her luggage next to the desk and walked to the window. The view was beautiful. "Wow." She said under her breath. She couldnt believe she was here, with the man she loved.
Laylee turned around.
"What next?" She asked with a grin.

Chandan felt a surge of relief and happiness when he realized Laylee liked the room. "That's okay," he grinned goofily when Laylee thanked him. "It wasn't all me. Miles, Perfecterie and Phoenix helped a lot too."

Chandan stepped up beside Laylee as she looked out the window. He liked being close to her like this, and knowing she was happy.

"Next," Chandan's grin widened; "if you'd like, my parents are awfully anxious to meet you. You don't have to meet them now if you don't want."

Hurriedly, hopefully before Laylee could answer, Chandan added; "oh! Before I forget, this parcel -" He indicated to the medium sized, box-shaped, Christmassy-wrapped present on Laylee's beside table; "- don't open it. Not yet." Chandan smiled at Laylee.

"Oh, well I will have to thank them as well!" Laylee said looking around him as if they would just pop in on the spot.
As Chandan moved close to her Laylee grinned at the feeling. She loved how every time he came close to her an amazing wave of warmth and comfort swept over her.
Laylee smiled nervously as he mentioned his parents. She was just as anxious to meet them as well, but she just hoped they would like her.
Before Laylee could answer however, Chandan burst out excitedly about a small Christmas decorated box on her nightstand. Laylee smiled excitedly at the small delicate box. "Wait what?" She asked confused. "I cant even open it yet? Why would you get me so excited?" Laylee asked with a grin. Curiousity came over her. What could it be? "When do I get to open it?" She asked.

"Christmas Day," Chandan smiled mysteriously. "Not before, because I want to be there when you open it. It's important."

And it is. It's so, very important. Because if she opens it before, then I... But she won't. I trust her completely, and she won't. Chandan reassured himself.

Changing the subject quickly, Chandan motioned towards the door to the hall. "Stairs or lift?" He asked, grin resurfacing.

Laylee sighed smiling. "Okay, I wont, I promise." She said with raised eyebrows. "Maybe you should keep it with you so Im not tempted!" Laylee said giggling. She loved the mystery of it all, but hated the suspence!
Laylee laughed again as he asked which transport she would like to take. "Umm.... Stairs please!" Laylee said. Maybe she would try the lift again later, afte she had recovered from the last trip!

Chandan smiled as Laylee giggled. He liked her laugh, and for him, laughs were infectious so he tried not to start too as he'd probably over-do it.

"How did I know you'd choose the stairs?" Chandan teased, opening her door again and walking slightly out of it. He indicated for her to go down the not-so-intimidating-stairs, before asking, "do you want to go first or shall I?"

Laylee followed Chandan to the door of the stairs and looked downward. Not at all scary. Yay! "Ummm, I'll go." Laylee said walking closely infront of Chandan, not wanting to get too far from hi incase this house had more surprises than she had already seen.

Chandan watched Laylee walk downwards ahead of him. The spiraling stairwell darkened in several areas, so Chandan sought out a spell in his head and was surprised when the pale blue flame flickered from his palm before he even said it.

I'm getting good at this mind-stuff, Chandy thought happily, noticing a little later that they were finally back where they'd first entered the lift.

"You missed all the enchanted steps," Chandan mused absently, snuffing out the harmless flame by closing his palm. "Perhaps I should've mentioned them earlier..." Dismissing the idea as being done-with, Chandan motioned to an empty section of wall in the illustrious hall and grinned.

"Here's the Mystery Room, where Mother is."

Laylee felt heat behind her and could see a blue light glowing through the stairway. As they reached the bottom of the stairs Laylee turned back towards Chandan and looked to where he was pointing. The Mystery Room. Laylee seemed to remember Miles saying that only Chandan and their mom went in there. "Ummm, should I wait out here?" She asked awkwardly.

ooc~You're thinking of the room behind the mysterious old door (the Frozen Room), where only Chandy and Silk can go,

Chandan smiled softly at Laylee's question. "Not at all. In fact, would you like to know how to make the door appear?" He asked, glancing back at the bare wall, and then Laylee expectantly.

Laylee looked up at Chandan again smiling. She nodded, excited to see how to make the door appear on the blank wall. Nerves came as she rememered she would be meeting her boyfriends mom. The boy she loved. How did his mom even feel about that? Laylee told herself to calm down, but it wasnt quite working. She kept herself composed infront of Chandan, but she doupted if he couldnt tell she was going crazy...
