Back Story: In Summer 2078, Josephina Hadley and Addison Nairne both found themselves at a cursebreaking/arithmancy convention in Orlando, Florida. Throughout the course of the 5-day convention, they found themselves bonding over common interests (number fascinations and travelling), along with connections strung between their sisters (Josephina was in Hufflepuff with Addison's sisters; Addison was in Ravenclaw with Josephina's sisters). After the convention was over and they were returning to the reality of their careers, they planned on writing letters, but didn't expect anything to come of their relationship. Just friends, right? WRONG! Somehow, three years later, the two continued to write each other regularly and meet up during holidays, making the impossible ... possible.
And now Addison is ready to show the world just how much Josephina means to him . . . to start them off on the path towards a great many new possibilities of hope and love.

First Scene: The Proposal

Why was he so nervous again?

Oh right....he was taking a pretty big step tonight...that's why. Sure Fina was expecting simply a dinner but Addison had other plans. Ones that included a certain small pouch within his pocket. The curse-breaker absently patted said pocket just to make sure it was still there, taking a breath to calm himself when it was. He needed to appear normal for as long as possible otherwise flags would be raised and the right moment would be risked.

So he settled into a private table he had found near the back of the restaurant he had picked within Muggle London for the setting of tonight. The Leaky just hadn't been right to him. The man quietly waiting for his companion to arrive and join him as he fiddled absently with the cuff of his dress shirt.

SO she was three weeks away from being Missus Josephina Nairne. Or would it just be Hadley-Nairne. She honestly didn't know. She wasn't even sure if she was doing the right thing. Sure all the arrangements were set up. They had a location for the wedding. The invites were sent out. And really there was no turning back, was there?

Apparating to the place where she was meant to meet Addison, Josephina just stood there staring, playing with her ring. Was this right? Was this how she was supposed to feel three weeks before getting married? She loved Addison. He loved her. But just ..........

She didn't know.

The end of the school term had come and Addison was glad that he had managed not to have any cases and tasks to do at the moment. For now he wanted to focus solely on his personal life, not the meaning of ancient symbols or avoiding a curse that a fellow cursebreaker stupidly opened up. Really...how hard is it to not do something you were warned against? Nope, his wedding day was fast approaching and there were still some last minute details that needed to be handled. Stuff that hadn't been able to be managed by bride or groom alone or on the weekends they both could spare.

He smiled upon seeing Fina at the meeting place, having been rushing and concerned about running late. Addison didn't want to risk anything that could harm their plans, including the nerves that were known to develop at this time in a relationship. The cursebreaker very much wanted to marry the woman he had proposed to just one summer before. But he wouldn't deny the butterflies.

"Hello," he greeted with a smile as he approached, kissing her lightly upon the cheek.

Maybe he won't show up. No, maybe he will. Maybe he won't. Honestly, Josephina didn't know what she wanted at that moment. She was just hoping for something.

Closing her eyes in thought, she felt lips upon her cheek and opened her eyes slowing, a smile creeping onto her face, as she touched the spot and then wrapped her arms around him. "Hello. Did you miss me?" Was that question even allowed at this point?

"You ready?" Because he wasn't the only one who could have surprises....

Addison saw the reaction he had gotten from his presence and kiss, pleased with it all. The smile he was greeted with and the embrace given forth. But then just seeing her again since their last weekend together would be hard to be sulleyed in his mind.

"Uh huh," he answered, hugging her back, "When have I never?" That was by far the hardest part of their relationship...the separation. But it was worth it when they could be together during the times they both were free from other responsibilities and such. The cursebreaker was tempted to pick her up and spin in delight but managed to keep his cool. Just because they weren't around many people who could recognize and cause drama didn't mean full on PDA wasn't going overboard.

"As ready as I can think of being. So what was first on the agenda?"

Now more than ever Josephina was in severe need of some vitamin D and some relaxation. Though she could live without plants, being cooped up in the cold castle with snow and isolation for months had proven rather lonely and despairing for the brunette. Which was why the minute she stepped foot into her flat, she declared a trip to Italy. It'd make her parents happy AND it would make her happy. And her husband, of course, obliged.

Taking over and holding Septimus on her hip, she smiled over at Addison. "I can't believe this is the first time Ti is meeting my parents. Did he miss me?" As if that was even a proper question. She hadn't flooed in months due to the frost. She knew both men in her life missed her. Not to mention how pale she felt.

The ice had thawed and with the fleeing students had come Fina back home finally. To say Addison, and one 10-month old Septimus, were overly happy with the appearance of their missing piece was an understatement. The cursebreaker didn't even question the sudden trip, just helped pack up the little family and headed of to the land of his wife's birthplace and childhood.

"Of course he did," he assured his wife, watching her and the boy like the time between the Christmas holidays and now hadn't transpired. Other than the growth of said toddler in the past months. "I can hardly pass for his mother." And any of the Nairne women could only be temporary fill-ins.

"Good answer," she smiled, leaning in to kiss Addison briefly. "I probably should have brought him back with me after the holidays, but he was safer here. Students are very germy and not to mention with the frost and snow in the corridors, well it was for the best he was with you." She nodded, watching as he packed the bags and she thought of what it'd been like with an infant in the frost-filled castle.

"How we getting there? Floo?" It was probably easier with the infant in tow. "By the way ... there's something else I want to talk about, but when we get to my parents we will." she nodded tossing a handful of the powder into their fireplace and stepped in, "19 Via Fiume" and disappeared...

Addison nodded at the suggestion, the woman practically answering her own question. "It seems the best bet." Apparition with the little tike didn't always work out so well in the end and the sudden trip kind of crossed out the idea of portkey or even muggle transportation to their destination. No waiting for the access to warmer weather and extended family was desired however.

He raised an eyebrow as Fina mentioned needing to talk before immediately putting it off. Wench...making him curious what it was about. "If you say so..." With Septimus in the careful hands of his mother, the cursebreaker briefly watched them disappear before soon following suite in possession of their belongings, each carefully shrunken for ease. The little family appearing once more in the living room of the house that was their destination for their trip.

"I think even I can appreciate the difference in temperature," he mused as he lightly dusted himself off. Sure, he was born and raised in the colder climates of Scotland even outside school unlike his bride, but that didn't mean he didn't enjoy the warmer weather when exposed to it.

As she disappeared from the fireplace, she had caught Addison's comment on appreciating the temperature. Which in July wouldn't be that much, but Italy was a bit warmer and definitely much warmer than the frigidness she'd experienced at Hogwarts the past 6 or so months.

Once in the living room of her parent's home, she turned to wait for the arrival of her husband not expecting her parents to actually be home. They weren't expecting them for another 12 hours after all, but just as Addison appeared, Fina heard the sound of her mother behind her.

"Ah there's my little grandson! Lemme have him!" without waiting for an answer, Nicole pulled Septimus from her daughter's arms.

Josephina started to protest, but just shrugged, stepping back and taking Addison's hand instead. "Grandparents. They just love to smother their grandkids." She smiled, shaking her head. "But I guess that means we can talk about that thing now?" You know the thing she mentioned wanting to talk about back at their place?

Without a greeting, his mother-in-law was on them shortly after they appeared. Or rather Septimus in his own mother's arms. Alas Fina's words rang so true for the little boy got all the attention he could ever want from the grandmother he was currently being held by now and the grandparents he got to see back in Britain on a more regular basis. The little guy never had to worry about being loved in any sense of the word.

"I guess so..." he agreed still not sure what exactly it was his wife wanted to talk to him about. He did feel her hand in his and briefly smiled knowing it couldn't be all that bad. Could it? "If you'll excuse us, Mother..." Addison said as they took their leave hand in hand. Though the cursebreaker doubted Nicole Hadley registered the parents had disappeared when he lead them away to another room.

New Scene: Nearly One Year Later

Addison had been busy.

With Fina's impending arrival home for the last time from Hogwarts, the cursebreaker had arranged to have off so he could prepare. The house was cleaned from top to bottom and the fixings for dinner were supplied so they could enjoy a nice meal at home to celebrate her return. He knew it had to have been bittersweet the night before so he was doing all he could to insure she didn't dwell on the more negative feelings of her retirement.

A squawk was heard from the living room and Addi chuckled as he went to check on Septimus. "Yes, Mommy is coming home," he remarked picking him up from the playpen stationed there. "She'll be here soon and she'll be here for longer than the summer. Isn't that grand? " That was a good thing that they had to adjust to, the fact of not being separated for months on end. AND shuffling their son back and forth between them during different parts of the terms.
