| | Lovegood Lane Background:
Dora Lovegood just recently returned to her home country after being in the US working for their Ministry. Dora is a half- blood witch with a bubbly personality but a short temper. She has recently been through a lot of ups and downs, but her co- worker, Silas, has seemed to give her a reason to stick around. Their "interaction" has started to bring out a new light in Dora.
ooc: This thread will give Dora a place to be with her friends and Silas. Dora's character will grow and learn more and more about herself. Locations: Dora's house: Inherited from a wizarding relative, Dora just recently renovated and moved into a new home. A sizeable home that reminds one of a farm house. The interior is just as bright as Dora's appearance and personality. Located inside the foyer is a talking mirror that gives out compliments or criticism... whichever is needed. Then you enter the large living room space where you see a ton of eclectic furniture in great colors and abstract shapes. There is a lovely fireplace, on the mantle there is a great collection of wizarding photgraphs. These photos range from her family to former co- workers from the US. The kitchen is very spacious and bright. One wall is nothing but windows, letting natural light spill in. The only room in the house that isn't bright and welcoming is Dora's "office"... well she practice's magic there and brews potions. Here are Dora's more personal photos and keepsakes. She keeps it locked away just like the memories. The view from the foyer Isabella Belladonna There now hangs a portrait of the former lady of the house. She crossed over but felt that Silas needed her portrait to feel better... Besides, she couldn't fully leave her children or her husband so abruptly. Over time she will stop visiting the portrait, but for now she stands waiting for her loved ones to come to her. The other portrait hangs in her niece's bedroom, hung with a permanent sticking charm. Dora's yard:
Dora has a grand yard that back's onto an enchanted forest with tons of trails and adventures to be had. Living in a Wizarding area Dora is free to fly or do whatever else she fancies outdoors. There is also a sizeable garden which Dora maintains. It is home to magical and Muggle plants alike, there are also pixies and gnomes that roam about. In the center of the garden is a lovely golden domed gazebo with a double swing that is perfect for cozying up on. The Lake:
Dora's property is also home to a fantastic lake that is home to all sorts of magical creatures and plants. The creatures are well behaved though, so Dora swims often when the weather is nice. Quote:

| I planned this outburst before OOC me knew she was lying.. so it's not mindreading ;) Granddaddy Ravenclaw | | Jermione Granger Allow? Cannot allow? Since when did Silas let people tell him what was allowed? Silas felt that familiar bitterness creep up as he stepped back a few paces.
"Dora, that's absurd. You can't go alone." Silas' voice was low, serious. "If you don't let me come with you... well.. I'll just follow behind." His voice was gaining strength; he was feeling anger. Not at Dora.. but at the situation. At his perpetual inability to protect the people he cared about. He could always take care of himself... but when it came to others.
"I can manage for myself.. you don't need to worry about protect me!" Silas had reached a quasi-yell and had ripped his long-sleeve shirt open at the buttons, sending them flying, exposing a horrendously scarred chest.
"This one," he said, pointing to a red line no wider than a pencil but just as long across his left bicep, "was for playing with Muggleborn children. And this one," he pointed to a crescent scar on his shoulder that was almost yellow with age, "was for refusing to practice unforgivables on Muggles... when I was nine." Silas heaved as he shared the stories of his scars. He pointed to a small pair of starbursts on his ribs. "Attacked by an imperiused snake." The zigzag over his belly button. "For disgracing the family name." Silas' voice was reaching fever pitch as he pointed to the largest, ugliest scar, a greenish-purple spider web that covered nearly the entirety of his left pec. Pointing to that scar, Silas dropped his voice low. "This one... was from my mother." He let the words hang in the air. "For having the temerity to beat, and kill, my own brother in a duel, in the very instant he cast the killing curse at me." So there it was. Nearly all of Silas' dirty laundry laid out on his chest... a chest which heaved with breaths drawn raggedly.
He'd missed one scar, though. A long, wide, pinkish shape that wrapped from his midback to his front. That story.. well. He wasn't up for that one, quite yet.
Regaining some semblance of at least neutrality if not calm, Silas said again, "So, say all you want that you are going alone. I will continue to insist that I am coming with you."

Why is he angry with me? Is he seriously telling me he'll follow me? Dora thought. Her temperature was rising! "Silas Druery! I am a grown woman and a trained Dark Wizard catcher and if I may say so myself, I am a very talented witch! Do not! I repeat- Do NOT! try to make me feel as though I am incapable of protecting myself and YOU." she was angry now...
Wait- he just ripped his shirt open. Oh merlin! This is horrible. Dora backed away from Silas. He was clearly hurting and she wanted to comfort him, but he was too worked up. His mother, his brother... Oh my goodness!
"Silas. I never meant to insinuate that you were incapable of watching out for yourself. This is what I was trained to do and it is second nature to try to protect." she said quietly. She inched toward him and held her hands up in front of her to let him know she was about to touch him. Angry men typically don't like to be surprised, she had learned the hard way. "You must understand... I lost Prometheus, Edward left me when things got tough, and my former best friend is now a murderous raving lunatic. Excuse me if this feels a tab personal to me. Forgive me for not wanting you anymore involved than you already are." she said quietly and evenly. She reached over and closed his shirt with her hand and looked into his eyes.
"Silas what happened to you as a child is no indication as to who you are right now. I am standing in front of the kindest, most loving man I have ever met. Your past does not run your life, no more than mine runs my life. " she said to him firnly. "The only reason I am scared to let you come is that I do not want to lose you. That is it. It is not because i don't trust you or that I don't have confidence in your abilities. You have shown me that you are a level headed and powerful Wizard... but I must finish this alone." she stepped back and looked into his eyes once again. She knew that she had to do it alone and if Silas tried to interfere she would stop him. That's just how this had to be whether he likes it or not.

| Granddaddy Ravenclaw | | Jermione Granger All the while they yelled, the veins in Silas' neck pulsed angrily. He couldn't remember the last time he held that many emotions at the same time. Fear. Love. Anger. Sadness.
His eyes shone, damp with the tears he couldn't... and wouldn't stop from coming. As she approached him and closed his shirt, he wanted to hold her, to take back what he'd said. But a small part of him wouldn't let him.
Silas spoke softly, voice full of sadness. "Not ruled by our pasts? How is any of this not? You say I can't come with you because of what's happened in your past. I say I have to because what's happened in mine. It's like this horrible record playing over and over again." Silas let his hands drop limply at his side.
"I'm sorry," he said, shrugging. "I know you can handle yourself. And I know what finishing this means to you. I... I just," Silas sighed. "I just have this feeling that if I let you leave, I may never see you again. And it kills me because what if I could have been there? What if I could have helped?"
Silas took a step forward. "I... I can't lose you." He closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

"We do not have to be products of our environments, Silas. I am simply saying that we can rise above our pasts and be better, fuller people becasue of it." Dora explained. She reached up and wiped tears from Silas' face with the tips of her fingers and smiled. "Silas, I won't be gone long and I promise you that when I come back things will be different. I will be at peace and free to live my life without fear. "
She thought about what Silas had said about the broken record and their pasts running their lives.. she cocked her head to the side and said to him, "Silas, you really think that our pasts affected us that much? If that were the case I wouldn't be nearly as happy and cheerful as I normally am, or so quick to trust others." She smiled warmly. "And you, you would not be as loving and kind as you are. Do you see what I mean?" she asked.
She finally let one of the stubborn tears fall from her eye and smiled, "I vow to you that I will return safely. You will not lose me Silas. You can't get rid of me that easily. " Dora said and leaned up and pressed her lips to his. "I will come back and it will be sooner than you can imagine" she whispered. She just prayed that she wasn't going to break that vow....

| Granddaddy Ravenclaw | | Jermione Granger Hadn't it? Hadn't Silas rearranged his entire life to escape his family? And then again after Lizzie died? Weren't his nightmares that he would have Dora taken from him just like Lizzie was?
But he didn't have that fight in him. Not with her. Not now. "Ok," he said softly. He put his hands on her waist. "You do what you need to do." He kissed her forehead. "But don't promise what you know you can't."
He hugged her close and swayed gently. The pink scar ached - or maybe Silas just thought it did - as he remembered Lizzie promising much the same. It hurt, all over again, like the wound was raw and fresh.
As much at it was emotional self-defense in the moment, Silas thought it best to ask. "But first," he continued. "you need to tell me more about this guy. You said he might come after me and if I'm going to be here, and you wherever, I should probably know some... right?"

Tell him more about Magorian... Was it even necessary? Yes, I gsuppose it is. Dora took a deep breath and began,You most likely don't have to worry. It is me he wants and once he finds out I am coming for him he will leave all of you alone. But if you must know Magorian is an American born, highly skilled former Auror. He's the one who trained me, I was his protege at teh Ministry." Dora shivered when she said that. It was so hard for her to believe that this maniac had trained her to catch Drak Wizards. "This is the reason he has evaded capture for so long, he knows what moves they are going to make next. But, since I went... rogue from the Ministry and attacked him I have been a bit harder to predict. This is why I know I'll be back." she smiled at him. "I will duel to kill, I have done it before, with deep regret, but I will not regret this. Magorian only goes after his intended target's loved ones when they won't come out and play. But I will and I will end this once and for all. I really hope I don't have to kill him, I hope that he can be captured..." Dora looked to Silas for some sort of reassurance, but knew he could give none. She leaned into him and took a deep breath trying to steady herself.
"I will have to get in touch with some of my contacts to see if I can track him down. He is not quiet, he does not hide, it won't be difficult. If all goes well on that front I will leave tonight. I would never make a promise to you that I didn't intend to keep, Silas. I promise you that I will do everything in my power to return here safely to you." she said and then hugged him closer.

| Granddaddy Ravenclaw | | Jermione Granger "He... trained you?" Silas' face drained of what little color it had. Shaking the terrible thoughts of everything that could go wrong from his mind, he held her close, turning his face away from hers so that she wouldn't be able to see the worry in his eyes. "You are a powerful Witch, Dora. I know you can do this." Was it lying if he worried she couldn't? Worried that this was the last time he'd hold her? Speak to her? Have the opportunity to tell her...
"Tonight? Leave tonight?" Silas head popped up at those words. So soon. Silas frowned, his brow wrinkling as he looked at her once more. Clearly, it was now or ... no, not never. He couldn't think that this was goodbye, even if it might prove to be. But it certainly was the moment of truth.
"Dora," he put his hands to her face as he spoke softly. "You have completely turned my world upside down - in a good way, not in the our lives are in danger way," he chuckled. "I can honestly say that when I'm with you, I feel in ways I never have and never thought possible. I love you, Dora. I love your smile and your spunk and I love your temper and your klutziness, and everything else." He looked into her eyes, hoping his conveyed all that he was feeling. "So you go, and you do this. But then you come back home. You come back home to me and let me love you."

Silas finally said it! The words Dora had been longing to hear him say. She smiled brightly at him and snuggled into his chest again. "I will come back, Silas. I will come back and love you. I will finally be free and I will help you be free, you mark my words." she held him tightly for a moment longer and looked around her house sighing. She was getting into word mode.
She walked over to Belladonna's cage and opened it calling the owl forward she said, "I am going to let you fly free while I'm gone Bella, but I will be back soon." She stroked the big owl's feathers and she hooted quietly looking at her with huge sad eyes. Dora walked over and lifted a window letting Belladonna fly off into the bright blue sky. Turning back to Silas she said, "If, by chance I am gone for longer than two days come out and feed my cat. I will leave you instructions for lifting and replacing the intruder charms. I created most of them myself so you don't know these particular charms." Dora shuddered inwardly and then said, "I will lift the enchantments now and you better get going to work. I have a few things to prepare before I go to the office and..." She didn't want to leave him but she knew she had to for a short while. She also had to inform Mel and Abby that she would be gone for a day or so. Meerlin, please let me finish this quickly and safely Dora thought.
She walked to Silas and pulled him into an embrace and kissed him deeply and passionately. Pulling back she said,"I will not say goodbye, that is final. But, I will say that I will see you sooner than you'd think. And I love you Silas. I love you so much" She then pushed him away and slashed her wand around at the back windows of the house lifting her enchantments. Looking at Silas she said one last thing, "I don't want to leave you, but I have a job to do and when that job is done I'll leave the Auror work to the Aurors and I will come back to you and my job and leave all of this mess behind me."

| Granddaddy Ravenclaw | | Jermione Granger He didn't want to let go. If he could just hold on to her, she couldn't go anywhere and if she didn't go anywhere. Silas sighed. It was no use. She was going to go; he was going to stay and what was going to be was going to be.
Not offering any resistance as she pushed him away, Silas nodded solemnly. He needed to go home before work and wash up. And she needed... well, she needed to prepare.
"Take care of yourself." And with a soft *pop* he was gone.

Dora nearly broke down as Silas spun on the spot and disappeared into the squeezing darkness. She didn't have time to break down, she needed to get to work and she needed to prepare for her mission. Bustling around her house she sighed. Bending and scratching Isabella behind the ears she said to her cat, "Silas will take care of you and please don't tear anything up." As though the cat understood the urgency of the situation she yowled and looked at Dora with sad eyes. Dora turned to leave the house.
She wouldn't take anything with her except for her wand and the bag full of goodies she always kept with her. After locking and shutting the door she walked to the edge of her property and set up her protective boundary. Then with a pop she was off to work.

| Granddaddy Ravenclaw | | Jermione Granger NEW SCENE It had been two days... well, a little more. Silas had waited, hoping she'd be back and that he wouldn't have to come here and do this, so he waited... and he waited some more. But she wasn't back... and that ball of gnawing doubt in his stomach was growing bigger and bigger.
Approaching the house, he dug the piece of parchment out of his pocket and flicked his wand about as he removed the protections. Entering the front door, he kept his wand at the ready, just in case. Dora's cat greeted him almost immediately, nuzzling up against his leg, mewing softly for food.
Making his way to the kitchen and digging through the cabinets, he finally found the cat food, and put out a small bowl's worth. Sighing, and petting the cat briefly, Silas made his way back to the living room.
Sitting on the couch, he breathed deeply. His mum's portrait had said something upsetting when he'd gone back. She'd noticed he hadn't been home and implied that she knew why. He tried to push it from his mind, but her warning about sharing family secrets chilled him.
As he sat there in the dark, the cat returned from the kitchen and jumped up on his lap. Sitting there in the dark, Silas flicked his wand again, casting at least a minimal protective spell, so he could put his wand down, even if just for a moment.

Green flames appeared in Dora's fireplace and she spun like a top and emerged on the rug in front of it. She was bleeding badly, her face, legs, and right arm were deeply gashed and she was in a right state. She didn't even notice that anyone was in her house and for once she didn't care. She had finished the deed... Magorian was dead.
She hadn't wanted that to be the outcome, but he was trying kill her, so all's fair when someone is duelling to kill, right?! She lay on the rug bleeding and crying and covered a thick film of dirt and grime. She thought she would feel... relieved or something close to it but there was a sick feeling in the pit of her stomach. She had killed someone she knew and it didn't sit well with her, regardless of the circumstances. She had been Cruciated for several hours but eventually she had broken free and....
"Oh Merlin! Please tell me he's okay." she murmered as she curled into a ball on the rug. Silas had been her driving force, he had been what propelled her to finish this once and for all. |But could she face him or anyone else after what she had done?

| Granddaddy Ravenclaw | | Jermione Granger Silas had dozed briefly, but woke with a start as green flames lit up the fireplace. Grabbing his wand, he prepared to defend himself when he noticed...
"DORA!" Silas cried out as she collapsed on the rug, bleeding and muttering. Racing to her side, Silas conjured bandages and a bowl. "Aguamenti!" he cried, filling the bowl with fresh water. "Dora, it's me.. Silas. I'm here." He touched the back of her head softly. "Can you hear me?"
Soaking a bandage in the water, Silas brought it to the gash on her face. "This might sting, I'm sorry." He wiped away the blood that had dried and tried to absorb and stop the blood that was still flowing. Tears welled in his eyes.
"Stay with me, Dora..." Silas whispered, as he continued to mop up blood. He couldn't tell what curses had done this much damage, but he didn't know if he could stop it. All he could do was keep washing and applying pressure and hoping.
"You're home.. you're safe... stay with me..."

Dora stirred slightly when Silas spoke. I must be dreaming she thought. There is no way that Silas could be with her, was there? She gasped as someone began to dab at her face. She couldn't get her eyes to focus, she had no idea where her wand was and she had no energy left to fight. Her wounds were caused from dark magic so she had no idea whether they would heal properly but she was greatful to the person tending to them. "Where i.. is... Si...las? she asked whomever it was doctoring her wounds. She thought she caught a glimpse of her cat before she passed out from the pain and loss of blood.

| Granddaddy Ravenclaw | | Jermione Granger Oh, Merlin.. she was in worse shape than he thought.
"Dora.. it's me. it's Silas. I'm here with you. Stay with..." But she'd passed out. Tears started to fall down down his cheeks in cascades.
Silas rested back on his heels. No amount of pressure was stopping the bleeding. These were cursed wounds and he would need equally powerful magic to stop it. His hands covered in blood and face stained with tears, he searched his memory for anything that might help. "Dora... Dora..." Silas muttered over and over again, heart aching. He was going to lose her.
The cat came over an nuzzled his leg again, mewing sadly before nudging Dora's head. Suddenly, Silas was struck by inspiration. He'd seen a spell once... it had reversed the damage of a sectumsempra spell.
Crying and rocking and searching his memory, he remembered that it was almost sung.. yes.. that was it. Silas' voice shook as he sung the incantation and waved his wand over Dora. His voice shuddered and broke... and regained strength and shuddered and broke again.
He rested back on his heels again, waiting to see if it would work.

Dora suddenly felt a warmth spread through her body kind of like she had been roused from a petrified state. The pain in her face began to fade and she felt a bit of her strength return when the pain faded.
Her eyes fluttered helplessly for a few moments, but after a lot of effort she willed them open. Her heart leapt with joy when she glimpsed Silas kneeling over her. Oh no, he's crying, he shouldn't be sad. "Silas?" she whispered. It came out more like a question than a statement. Any fear she had about facing him instantly vanished and was replaced with such love she thought she may burst. "You saved me, you helped me through. It's over" she whispered weakly and tried to summon up the strength to smile. The smile mangled on her face and she sighed deeply.
Groping around for Silas' hand she finally siezed it and gripped it tightly. "Silas, I am so cold and tired." she said as she drifted out again. She had lost so much blood that she was having trouble staying awake, but all she wanted to do was look at him.

| Granddaddy Ravenclaw | | Jermione Granger His eyes were closed and so he didn't know what had happened until he heard his name. Eyes immediately open, Silas looked down at Dora, who was attempting, rather unsuccessfully to smile at him. "Dora.. you're going to be alright.. I promise." She grabbed his hand and tried to squeeze it, but there wasn't much strength behind it. He held her hand tightly with both of his as she drifted out again.
The bleeding had stopped, but a few of the wounds still seeped. Pointing at the fireplace, Silas started a fire, hoping to warm her up a bit. Dabbing them with a wet bandage, he then wrapped dry ones around them. The rest of her was still covered in grime, and so he gently washed what he could. Placing a hand on her forehead, he began to cry again. The bleeding may have stopped, but recovery? That was anyone's guess.
Opting to lift her with magic, lest he jostle her too much, Silas muttered, "mobilicorpus" and floated her over the the couch, placing a pillow under her head and summoned a blanket to cover her. Pulling up a chair next to the couch, Silas took her hand and began his vigil over her, praying and hoping that she would wake up.

Dora felt like she had been asleep for days, possibly weeks. She vaguely remembered Silas being there. She sighed and found quickly that had been a mistake she was sore all over. She slowly lifted a hand to her face and felt bandages covering her wounds. She opened her eyes and saw him dozing a chair beside her couch.
"I love you" Dora said with as much volume as she could muster. She was still dreadfully weak from the travel and battle that she had encountered in her abscence. "Silas, it's over, I killed him." she told him. She felt tears spilling from her eyes and she couldn't stop them. There was a pain deep in her body that had nothing to do with her injuries. The pain of having to raise her hand to someone she had once trusted, quite literally, with her life. She brought her legs up to her chest and hugged them tightly. She ignored the pain in her legs and arms as she did this. Her back had been injured pretty badly, but not by dark magic. She had been blasted into a tree and was pretty banged up and bruised.
She told herself that Silas wouldn't think less of her for what she had done, considering what he divulged to her about his past, but she didn't know if SHE could handle what she had done. Her mental capability to deal with taxing situations seemes to have crashed and she was falling apart. The tears kept falling and sobs caught in her throat and she stared without really seeing. Finally she wailed, "Merlin, what I have done?" and cried even harder. She was aware of Silas' presence in her home (and her heart) but it did little for her state of mind at the moment.
"Silas, can you cast the sleepless dream spell on me? I want to sleep more but I keep seeing it over and over again." she asked him. Dora looked at him with such pain in her eyes she feared it might actually burst out of her and flow into Silas.

| Granddaddy Ravenclaw | | Jermione Granger Silas stirred, his eyes fluttering open as he heard Dora's voice. Smiling as he rose from the chair and knelt beside, he spoke softly, "I love you, too." He took her hand again, and shook his head gently. "Shhh.. you rest now. You're home and you're going to let me take care of you until you're well." He ran his free hand through her hair. He looked into her eyes as she told him it was over. "Shhh, you don't need to tell me just now."
He gently placed an arm around her shoulder, and kissed her temple softly as she cried. He didn't try to stop her or dry them. Crying was something she needed. He knew that much. He just held her as gently as he could as she cried and curled up and eventually yelled out.
"Dora.. listen to me..." He tried to look in her eyes, but it was proving impossible. "You did what you needed to do.. that is all." But when she turned to look at him, his heart nearly broke in two. He could tell how much pain she was in. As he cradled her face in his hands, he stared back into her eyes, understanding her pain, promising her his love. "Whatever you need."
Kissing the top of her head, he stood. "Let's get you upstairs and cleaned up. Can you walk, or do you want me to carry you?" He spoke in a whisper, the flames from the fireplace flickering behind him. "And do you need anything? To eat? Drink?" Silas vanished the bloodied bandages and water that had gone a little pinkish.
"You tell me what you need; I'm here for as long as you need me."

Dora thought about this for a moment... could she walk? It's not as though she had any dignity left at this point she shook her head and croaked, "I don't have the energy to walk." The tears continued to roll down her face in a seemingly neverending wave. She loved Silas so much right now, he could never understand what his presence alone meant to her.
She tried to move into an upright position, but that proved nearly impossible she was so stiff and ached from head to toe. "Firewhisky. There is a bottle behind the bar in the kitchen. Don't bother with a glass" she mumbled to him. The pain in her body was nothing compared to the pain in her heart, but she couldn't imagine eating anything.
She drifted momentarily back to the events of the last two days....
She had been sleeping... if you could call it that... in underbrush inside the tree line of a dank forest... some of her pals from the American Ministry joined her after the first night to lend aid... They had Magorian backed into a moor and surrounded when the battle ensued. He went straight for Dora...She watched her companions and his dropping left and right. The battle that went on between the two of them was collosal...
Coming back to the present she cried harder than ever. Both friends and foes lost their lives tonight and it was all her fault. "Silas, I am a monster. I was brutal and unrelenting. I have no idea how many I struck down" her voice caught in her throat and she buried her face in her hands. Looking up at him through her lashes she said weakly, "Please help me, Silas. Get me out of the clothes and burn them... and get me in my bed and promise that you won't leave me. I am afraid I'll fall apart, worse than I am now if I wake up again and you are not here." she babbled on and cried harder. She was shaking from head to toe.

| Granddaddy Ravenclaw | | Jermione Granger Silas immediately went to go get the Firewhiskey and raced back to Dora's side. When he returned, the look in Dora's eyes told him she was a thousand miles away from them.
Placing the bottle down on the floor, he grasped her hands. As she began to cry harder, he released them and sat near her on the couch, in the space she'd made when she'd attempted to sit up. He wrapped his arms around her and held her as she cried.
"You are not a monster, Dora. You fought for your life, simple as that. The fact that you needed to is not your fault. The blame rests solely with him." Silas' voice remained soft and gentle as he held her. Nodding at her request, he flicked his wand. "Accio." Fresh clothes came down to them and he stood to help Dora. "Of course I won't leave. I will be with you every second, I swear."
Helping her stand, Silas took her hand and placed his wand down. He held her as she trembled and babbled and cried. "Shhh. I'm here and you're safe and it's over." He hugged her, lightly.
Helping her change her clothes, Silas took note of all the bruises and scrapes, beyond the major wounds from before. She was really in rough shape. What had that maniac done to her?
Balling up the blood-stained clothes, he turned to her. "Burn them?" That's what she'd asked, afterall. He moved to the fire... "Shall I, or would you like to?"
Maybe giving her the opportunity to reclaim some of her power in all this would help...
He hoped.

Dora grasped to Silas for dear life as he helped her change her clothes. She couldn't help but chuckle a bit. "Well, I certainly hoped that you'd see me in my underclothes under different circumstances." she said in a far away voice. She didn't have the strength to be shy right now. She didn't want to touch those clothes, she turned to Silas again and said, "You burn them, I never want to touch them again. I just want to lie down." she said weakly. She flopped back down on the couch... Bad idea! She cried out from the pain it caused and started to cry again.
She bent over carefully and picked up the bottle, uncorked it, brought it to her lips and drank deeply. When she set it back down she coughed a bit. The firewhisky warmed her all the way to her toes. It felt as though the initial shock was ebbing away, but now reality was setting in and it wasn't much better. An insistant tapping began at her living room window and she jumped and grabbed her wand that she had finally spotted on the floor. Turning she sent a stunner toward the noise and blew a chunck out her wall... Yeah, it was only Belladonna returning from wherever she had been. "Silas, please let Belladonna in" she said ina crazed voice.
Is this how she was going to react to all the things that went bump in the night? She was still shaking from head to toe with fear and remorse. She felt horrible for using such nasty spells and the rage wasn't pretty either. She had never fought so hard in her life, but she had also not had so much to lose. She looked at Silas and in a pleading voice said, "The pain will stop, won't it?! Please tell me I won't hurt like this forever." She went forward and grabbed the front of his shirt and shook him with all of her might (which wasn't much) and crumbled into him in hysterics again. "Please take me up to my room. I want to sleep this away, Silas. Tell me everything will be better when I awaken." she couldn't keep the crazy out of her voice. She clung to him like he was her life line... He was her reason for coming out of this, she had to be brave.

| Granddaddy Ravenclaw | | Jermione Granger Silas tossed the clothes into the fireplace and watched the flames kick up and then consume the cloth. He stared into the flames, willing them to consume more than just that. He jumped suddenly as Dora cried out in pain and swung around, just in time to have to jump back as she sent a stunner toward the window.
He rushed forward to let Belladonna in and then walked back to Dora. As she crumbled against him, he brought his up under her arms to support her as he held her. "Shhh, my sweet Dora." This... this was something he knew something about. "It won't always hurt like this, no..." It would hurt a little... almost always, but this was not the time to say something like that. He closed his eyes and rested his head against hers for a moment, as the fire sputtered and sparked. "It will get better, I promise," he whispered softly.
After standing a moment in silence, he stepped back a little. "Ok, I'll carry you up. Put your arms around my neck." Silas stuck his wand in his back pocket as he gathered Dora up his arms. "You will sleep well, and yes, it will be a little better when you wake up." Silas started his walk upstairs. "And it will be a little better than that the next morning. And a little better the morning after that." Silas took the stairs slowly, careful that he did not further injure Dora.
"And I will stay with you for as long as necessary." Silas lay Dora down on her bed and pulled the covers up for her. Kneeling down at her bed side, Silas put his hand on her head and brushed the hair away from her face. "My sweet, brave, beautiful Dora, I'm here to take care of you." He kissed her forehead lightly. "Tell me when you want me to cast the spell."

Dora clung to Silas as he carried her up the stairs. Okay, it will get better with time. Hopefully none of the spells had addled her brain or any other part of her body. She was worried because she couldn't get her emotions under control and that was unusual for Dora. Despite what happened she always got it all out and regained control fairly quickly... but not this time. She sobbed all over Silas' shirt.
Silas took the greatest care not to hurt Dora when he lay her down in the bed but it still hurt. She clenched her teeth together to keep from crying out in agony. She could feel her face swelling and though she knew it was no time for vanity she asked Silas, "Do you think I will be scarred badly? What will I tell people happened to me? I cannot possibly tell anyone that I duelled with and killed a maniac." She was losing control again. She wanted to stop the questions from bursting from her lips, but she couldn't hold any of it in.
She looked deep into Silas' eyes and said, "You are the greatest man I have ever known and I told you I would return and love you." She choked on another sob, took a deep breath to steady herself and said, "Hold me, Silas, and don't let me go.Cast the spell. And then she waited for the peaceful, dreamless, much welcomed sleep to take her away from this pain.

| Granddaddy Ravenclaw | | Jermione Granger It took everything he had not to dissolve into tears as she cried. "Shhhh," he whispered. "We will figure it out. I'll send Belladonna to the apothecary for some dittany root and I'll mix up you a scar solution in the morning. It should take care of the worst of it." Silas spoke sootheningly as he continued to brush her hair away with his hand. He knew what this felt like... the fear... wondering if you'd ever feel normal again. It was going to be rough for a while. Silas took a deep breath and looked Dora in the eye.
"You're going to be ok." He grasped her hand and kissed her lightly. "I will stay right here." He smiled then and gave her hand a little squeeze. "Goodnight, my sweet Dora." And with that, Silas waved his wand to send Dora into a dreamless, peaceful, sleep.
