| | Lovegood Lane Background:
Dora Lovegood just recently returned to her home country after being in the US working for their Ministry. Dora is a half- blood witch with a bubbly personality but a short temper. She has recently been through a lot of ups and downs, but her co- worker, Silas, has seemed to give her a reason to stick around. Their "interaction" has started to bring out a new light in Dora.
ooc: This thread will give Dora a place to be with her friends and Silas. Dora's character will grow and learn more and more about herself. Locations: Dora's house: Inherited from a wizarding relative, Dora just recently renovated and moved into a new home. A sizeable home that reminds one of a farm house. The interior is just as bright as Dora's appearance and personality. Located inside the foyer is a talking mirror that gives out compliments or criticism... whichever is needed. Then you enter the large living room space where you see a ton of eclectic furniture in great colors and abstract shapes. There is a lovely fireplace, on the mantle there is a great collection of wizarding photgraphs. These photos range from her family to former co- workers from the US. The kitchen is very spacious and bright. One wall is nothing but windows, letting natural light spill in. The only room in the house that isn't bright and welcoming is Dora's "office"... well she practice's magic there and brews potions. Here are Dora's more personal photos and keepsakes. She keeps it locked away just like the memories. The view from the foyer Isabella Belladonna There now hangs a portrait of the former lady of the house. She crossed over but felt that Silas needed her portrait to feel better... Besides, she couldn't fully leave her children or her husband so abruptly. Over time she will stop visiting the portrait, but for now she stands waiting for her loved ones to come to her. The other portrait hangs in her niece's bedroom, hung with a permanent sticking charm. Dora's yard:
Dora has a grand yard that back's onto an enchanted forest with tons of trails and adventures to be had. Living in a Wizarding area Dora is free to fly or do whatever else she fancies outdoors. There is also a sizeable garden which Dora maintains. It is home to magical and Muggle plants alike, there are also pixies and gnomes that roam about. In the center of the garden is a lovely golden domed gazebo with a double swing that is perfect for cozying up on. The Lake:
Dora's property is also home to a fantastic lake that is home to all sorts of magical creatures and plants. The creatures are well behaved though, so Dora swims often when the weather is nice. Quote:

Dora gasped and spluttered and sat up straight on the couch and with her wand held at the ready she started looking around frantically. There was someone with her, was it HIM? She jumped to her feet, a bit wobbly and started to screech, "What do you want? Why have you come back? You have taken everything from me, but I won't let you take him!" She drew back her wand preparing to stun her intruder when she started to recognize who it was with her. She sank to her knees and dropped her wand. Burying her face in her hands she muttered over and over again, "|I am so sorry Silas! They were here for me."
Her heart was beating out of her chest and her hands were shaking violently. She drew a ragged breath and dared to look at Silas. Her eyes were dry for once, there was no use crying over something she couldn't control. She would protect Silas until the end... it may very well be the end of Dora.
"I think I need to explain some things to you, Silas. Will you stay with me tonight? I don't think I can face being here alone." She looked up at him with pleading eyes and a heart that yearned for him to stay with her forever, but tonight would be enough... for now.

| Granddaddy Ravenclaw | | Jermione Granger Silas jumped back as Dora sat up and screamed at him. She was looking around frantically, wand out. "Dora.. Dora it's me.. Silas." His voice was a little panicked. She looked like she was about to hex him. What was she screaming about? Take who?
And then she stopped and dropped to her knees. Who was here for her?
Moving quickly to her side, he put an arm around her. "Shhh, Dora, it's ok. I'm here; there's no one else." He tried his best to sound calm and soothing, but he was a wreck, internally. What in Merlin's name was going on?
"Of course. Of course I'll stay. Shhh." He held her close, feeling her heart pound. "And you don't have to tell me anything you don't want to." Silas closed his eyes as he held her. He didn't know what was happening, and frankly, he couldn't be sure it wasn't his fault. Dementors conveniently showing up the day he comes to call? She's alone more often than not, so why now, when she's got company?
A sense of dread filled Silas. This had to be his fault, he thought. And this time, it was only his presence that put her life at risk. He'd been careless. And while he would stay the night, he thought that, for her safety, it was probably better if after that, he never saw her again.

Dora snuggled closer into Silas as he held her close. She had to tell him why she was back in England, it wasn't simply because of her parents and the house... there was more, much, much more. She took a deep breath to steady herself and mustered up the courage to tell him what was really going on.
"Silas, there was a mission I was involved in, my last mission as an Auror. It went bad, horribly wrong." she paused for a moment and took another deep breath. "The Dark Wizard I was sent to capture turned out to be one of our own, one that I was close to. I had been hoodwinked, I trusted him. I faltered and he escaped, but not before he vowed to take everything from me that I cared about. He had already killed Prometheus... It was him today, I am sure of it. HE is an accomplished Legilimens and I heard him... in my head." she stopped and drew a ragged breath. Just then something caught her eye. Something that wasn't there before. On her mantle there was a photo... one she didn't recognize. She uneasily made her way over to investigate. It was him and Dora and Prometheus together, only days before he died. She picked the picture up and smashed it on the ground. Turning slowly to Silas she said, "He was in my house. He was here. Why didn't my... I turned them off when we left the house so they wouldn't go off again. I let him in... Silas, I am so sorry. I have put you in danger."
Her eyes brimmed with tears, fearful tears. She hadn't wanted him to get involved in this, she thought she was safe a continent away. Boy had she been wrong! "If you want to leave now, I will not hold it against you. If you never want to see me again, I understand." She turned her head to hide the stubborn tears that were now escaping. Silas would surely leave her now, they all did. But, she couldn't blame them, Dora was just too dangerous.

| don't know how available I'll be to respond tonight... Granddaddy Ravenclaw | | Jermione Granger Silas stroked Dora's hair gently and rocked a little back and forth as she snuggled closer. His eyes filled with understanding as she explained to him what had been going on and what she hadn't told him. He could understand her pain and her fear, because it mirrored his own. And in that moment, he longed to tell her what he hadn't... what he'd worried this attack had been. "Dora..." he started, but was interuppted by her sudden standing. As the glass from the frame shattered, Silas stood, shielding his face.
The door... ajar... the attack. It all made sense now and Silas felt like a fool for not having taken any precautions when he saw the door was open. What if Dora'd been hurt when he was in the kitchen. His thoughts were suddenly interuppted by her speaking.
"Leave? Absolutely not." Silas walked to her as she hid her face and tears from him. Now that he knew it wasn't his fault, all thoughts of disappearing to protect her had flown by the wayside. "Listen to me, Dora. I can't quite tell you why, not now, but trust me when I say that I can handle danger." He cupped her tear-stained face with his hands. "I'm in this; you and me, we can take care of it together."
Silas pulled her close, wrapping his arms around her shoulders and resting a hand on the back of her head, letting her lean on his chest. Breathing deeply, he closed his eyes, briefly, before realizing that they might not be alone.

| Not a problem!
Dora wanted to breath a sigh of relief, but just couldn't... not yet. It seemed too unrealistic that things could be this simple. Could Silas really not care about her past and the fact that simply being near her could bring about his demise? Why did you drag him into this Dora? You should have kept him away! she berated herself internally. Being in his arms felt nice, but her world had been ripped apart twice now when she got comfortable.
She pulled away from Silas and smiled weakly at him before saying, "Just remember that I warned you and gave you your out." she shrugged. Looking down at the broken glass and the photo on the ground she was red hot mad. The people in the photo, including herself, were shkaing their fists up at them and scowling. She waved her wand toward the mess and the shards of glass went flying to the waste basket and the photo to the fireplace. She flicked her wand at the fireplace and flames immediately rose and the evidence of her past was instantly incenerated. Before she could relax she needed to sweep the house and be sure there was nothing or no one inside.
"Silas, I have put you at enough risk today... please stay here while I sweep the house for danger." she said this very pointedly and took off for the back of the house, her wand at the ready. As she stalked off she tapped her head lightly with her wand and cast a Disillusionment Charm upon herself... now hopefully she wouldn't trip over anything during her search and tip off anyone skulking around inside her home.

| Granddaddy Ravenclaw | | Jermione Granger "No out necessary." Silas returned the small smile. He got one last look at the photo before Dora destroyed it. The people in it had once been happy, but betrayal had ended that. Know what that's like, Silas thought, grimly, as Dora sent it to the flames.
He was going to challenge her request for him to stay put -- she was in no state to go off by herself -- but her voice was so strong and pointed, that he dare not suggest otherwise. Before she left, he told her, plainly, "I'll stay here, but if I hear so much as a sneeze, I'm coming looking for you." He was NOT going to lose her, too.
As she left, he paced the living room, thumping his wand against his hand, shirt wrinkled and untucked. Something didn't feel right, but he couldn't quite place it. He busied himself by looking at Dora's other photos for a bit, and then settled into a chair to await her return, twitching at every random sound he heard.

Dora sneaked into all three of the bedrooms in the house, closely inspecting them and moving on to the closets, bathrooms, and nooks and crannies. There was no sign of anyone in the rooms she had searched.... that left one room. Dora's study was locked (like it stayed unless she was torturing herself by going in there for some reason or another) but she thought Alohamora and the locked clicked and the door swung open. She was not prepared for the full range of emotions that would take her as the intruder was revealed... The stunner that was sent directly at her chest had not been anticipated either, but luckily Dora was quick! Bits of wood scattered across the floor and hit Dora in the side of her head when the Stunner expolded a huge hole in her wall.
She screamed "Sectumsempra" and smiled ruefully when she saw the blood oozing from the man's arm. She was preparing fight or kill, whatever had to be done, when the man let out a high pitched screech, a flash of red light zoomed toward her from his wand and he began to turn on the spot. "You will not harm me or anyone I love again!" Dora bellowed and she deflected the hex meant for her and screamed, " Crucio!" The man disappeared but she was pretty sure she had hit him because he seemed to writhe and scream right before he disappeared with a POP.
Dora didn't even bother chasing him, she would have to set up a protective boundary, and he would NOT get back in. She slumped down the wall and crumbled. This time no tears came, her hair was a glistening black and her heart felt as dark. She hugged her knees and rocked back and forth as she watched the photos weep and everyone standing solemnly around the tomb. She had been the reason he died, she made HIM angry... it was all her fault, it always was.

| Granddaddy Ravenclaw | | Jermione Granger Silas heard the screams and jumped out of his chair. Running toward them, he stopped abruptly as he saw a stunner hit a wall and leave a gaping hole. Hurrying again, he saw Dora cast at a man as he disappeared and then slump down and rock. The disillusionment charm had faded and her features had changed again. Silas could only imagine what that meant about her emotions. He knelt beside her and took her hand.
Looking into the room where the man had been, Silas saw images of mourning. Silas flicked his wand and closed that door, hiding what he assumed were painful images for Dora. "Are you alright? Did he hurt you?" She looked ok, physically at least, but was desperate for confirmation.
"I think he's gone," Silas said, "but we should get your protections back up when you're ready." He squeezed her hand and looked to her with worried eyes.

Dora's head snapped up when she heard Silas' voice. She was grateful that he had closed the door, but couldn't quite shake the images she had encountered. She had kept the photos to remind her of Prometheus, but they acted as a catalyst for her fear now. Magorian had been her friend, her co- worker.... but it was all a rouse. When she discovered the truth she attacked him and the duel that ensued had cost Prometheus his life. She angered Magorian and he vowed his revenge.
"Am I alright?" she asked herself. She wasn't sure but it was obvious that Silas was in a right state of worry. She nodded her head slowly and took a deep breath. She knew what she had to do. She slowly got to her feetand shook the remnants of her wall outof her hair and said, "We need to set up a protective border around my property. I don't want a gnat to be within the boundary without my knowledge." She walked to the window and began casting the protective charms. "Muffliato, Protego Totalus, Cave Inimicum, Protego Horribilis" Dora slashed and whipped her wand through the now night sky as she said the incantations and lastly placed a VERY strong intruder charm over her home. She turned and sprinted into her bedroom and grabbed the Foe Glass off of her wall and ran back into the hallway to Silas.
"You cannot leave until daybreak, I am sorry. I will lift the enchantments then. We are both safe here now. YOu may find it inappropriate, but you may sleep in my room or choose one of the others when you feel like sleeping. The choice is yours, I don't mind either way." She then set the Foe Glass on the floor and pulled Silas into a bone crushing embrace and whispered "I don't know what I would have done without you here tonight, but I am sorry you got caught up in this mess."
She took his hand and led him into her kitchen. With a flick of her wand the shades were drawn and the candles were once again lit. "How about a cuppa?" Dora suggested as she put a pot of water on to heat. She would try to block out the horrible images swirling in her head and act.. normal. That is how Dora copes, she tries to get back to normal as soon as possible.

| Granddaddy Ravenclaw | | Jermione Granger Silas stood back as Dora went to work, resecuring her home. A foe glass? In the bedroom? Maybe they had more in common than Silas had originally thought.
"I wouldn't dream of leaving before than, anyway. I couldn't leave you alone here after the day we've had." Silas knew she could take care of herself, but he would be sick with worry and then, guilt if anything happened in his absence. His mind wandered. This kind of thing just seemed to follow him no matter where he went.
His thoughts were interrupted by Dora's embrace. Squeezing her tightly, Silas closed his eyes, thankful that they were both ok. "This is not your fault; and you don't ever have to apologize to me for it." Silas whispered back. Dora had angered a mad man by trying to do good and for having trusted a friend. What excuse did Silas have for his own mess? Not nearly anything so noble. "And as for sleeping, well, I don't think we should be in separate places, just in case. I'll take the floor of your room, if that's alright." He didn't want to be presumptuous.
Following her to the kitchen, Silas tried to get a better sense of the layout of the house... just in case. As she drew the shades and lit the candles, Silas felt a little more relaxed, though the days events still swirled in his mind, mixing every so often with the memories from all those years ago that he never could shake. "Yes, that would be great," he said, attempting to push those thoughts from his mind. Where did they go from here?

Dora shook her head at Silas' chivalry. "We are both grown, it's out of the question for you to sleep on the floor, I'll not hear another word. My bed is more than big enough for the both of us." Her kettle began to emit a high pitched whistle that made her jump. Laughing she waved her wand at it and it floated over to the table and poured itself into the cups Dora had just set out and added teabags to. She waved her wand again and it floated back over to the stove.
Gripping the cup she welcomed the warmth of it on her hand. She reached across the table and took Silas' hand in her own and smiled warmly at him. "Well, I guess it's safe to say that there will never be a normal day with the two of us." She looked over at Silas and laughed. His clothes were a mess and he looked just as disheveled as she did. "There are three bathrooms for you to choose from if you'd like to shower and I am sure I can dig up something more comfortable for you to sleep in, if you'd like."
This had been the day from hell... almost literally. A Dementor attack, Magorian coming after her, the pictures... But she felt that with Silas there she was whole again. She had protected him and he was not running away from her... Maybe there was a reason they were together in this. Where Dora lacked structure Silas had an abundance, what Silas lacked in child- like wonder Dora had more than enough.... It was like they were meant to complete one another. With all of these things running through her mind she walked around the table to Silas and took his hand and led him into the living room. She looked back over her shoulder and magicked their tea cups to follow them. She wanted nothing more than to have Silas hold her tightly.

| Granddaddy Ravenclaw | | Jermione Granger Very well, then," he said, wondering what it would be like to share a bed again. "But I warn you," he said, with small smirk, "I sometimes kick in my sleep." It really wasn't anything funny; Silas had nightmares sometimes, and would thrash about. Maybe he'd see if Dora had the ingredients in her home for a dreamless sleep potion.
Silas accepted his tea from Dora and took a small sip, burning his tongue. Opting just to hold it for a while, he responded. "Honestly, Dora, I don't think there's been a normal day with the two of us since we met." It was true. Between the hexes and his mothers portrait and the random panic and then today, it had certainly been a roller-coaster so far.
"A shower and fresh clothes would be wonderful, but can wait," he said, appreciatively. He didn't want to let her out of his sight, at least not yet. Placing the teacup down on the counter, Silas took Dora's hand as she walked toward him. With a quick squeeze, he allowed himself to be led to the living room, floating teacups behind them.
Setting himself down on the couch, he pulled Dora into a full-body hug. The fire that she had started to destroy the picture was still roaring. If it hadn't been immediately following what could have been their end, it would have been the perfect romantic evening.

Dora smiled and sighed as she let herself be pulled into Silas' hug. She then laughed and said, "I think you're right, maybe we just aren't normal." Dora supposed it was true considering the events that had taken place since they had met. Oh well, at least it was always interesting, right?!
Remembering what she said to Silas in the forest she smiled and said, "You know, I meant what I said to you earlier today. I could see myself with you." She yawned a huge yawn and snuggled into Silas more. "|Well, I tend to talk in my sleep so watch out, you may hear something you don't want to." she giggled a sleepy little giggle and let her guard down for the first time in a long time. As she was drifting off she sighed and said, "Silas." There was a big smile on her facce as she passed out in his arms.

| Granddaddy Ravenclaw | | Jermione Granger Silas smiled and played with Dora's hair as she lay with her head on his chest. Normal, certainly not.
"Well, I meant what I said when I said I don't plan... but I do certainly think we have a good thing, here." Silas hoped she took that as he meant it. He wouldn't dare say that he could see them together in the future, even if he did, (he did) because the twinge of pain that that day might never happen was too much.
Silas chuckled. "Well, I promise not to tell you if you say anything terribly embarrassing, then." Silas winked at her as she started to drop off. Despite everything that had happened, he was relaxing.
Dora had fallen asleep in his arms. Silas lay there for a moment, feeling the warmth of the fire on his face. His eyes scanned the living room as shadows from the fire danced across the wall. As his eyelids began to droop, he checks to make sure Dora was actually sleeping, before kissing her forehead and whispering, "Goodnight, my sweet Dora." Closing his eyes, Silas silently wished that the nightmares that plagued his sleep would not trouble him tonight.

Dora awoke after an unusual dreamless night, she stretched and then...OOF!.. she fell off of her couch with a clatter. "What in the name of Merlin?!" she exclaimed. Then the happenings of the previous day came flooding back into her mind. Nope, no! She blocked those things right on out! She stretched again and looked over to see Silas dozing on her couch. She smiled and the feelings that she had for him lit her heart on fire. She reached over and stroked his face and got up to shower and fix breakfast. She would try not to wake Silas until she was done... Try being the operative word! But breakfast seemed like a nice start to repaying him. Maybe he would come around more often to keep her from being so lonely all of the time.... Well, she could dream.

| Granddaddy Ravenclaw | | Jermione Granger As Silas slept on, but Dora was up and gone, nightmares invaded his dreams. Standing in the middle of a field, Silas watched as Lizzie approached out of a forest. Silas was the age he was now but Lizzie hadn't aged a day. She walked out of the forest, blonde hair floating behind her as if a breeze blew only for her. Silas reached for her, but she wouldn't touch him. "Take care of her, Silas," she said, blue eyes imploring. "Take care of her like you couldn't for me." Silas stomach turned in knots at those words. But before he could speak, a cackle, not unlike his mothers, echoed throughout the woods as a curl of black smoke wrapped itself like a snake around Lizzie's waist. As it pulled her away, she screamed, her features changing to those of Dora's.
Silas tossed uncomfortable on the couch, beads of sweat on his forehead as the dream progressed. He was starting to wake, but still in that space between dreaming and waking where you're never quite sure what's real.

Dora came bebopping down the hallway after her refreshing shower whistling a random tune that was stuck in her head. She was still wearing her hair black, her mood still affected by the previous days events. Dressed for work already she had donned a form fitting black sweater and gray slacks with knee high black boots.
She wanted to get breakfast started before she woke Silas. She yawned hugely and decided that cereal and toast would have to do this morning, she wanted to be lazy. With a lazy flip of her wand the kitchem came alive with movement, she had cast the charm so many times that she walked away still humming to rouse Silas from his slumber.
When Dora entered the living room she noticed that Silas was tossing and turning and he was sweating a bit. Oh no. Nightmares... way to go Dora you have messed up his sleep now! she thought exasperatedly. She tiptoed over and lightly shook him and called his name. This didn't work so she bent over, kissed his forehead and said, "Rise and shine love! Breakfast is nearly ready."

| Granddaddy Ravenclaw | | Jermione Granger He was being pushed.. and the Lizzie/Dora dream mix was calling his name... but then Silas' eyes fluttered as Dora kissed his forehead. This was real, right?
"Good morning, Dora," he mumbled sleepily. "Did you sleep alright?" He was just starting to remember his own dream and was trying to shake it loose. Protect her. That's what dream-Lizzie had said. Silas' mind was near made up. He couldn't disappear like he'd planned. He was in this.
Stretching and standing, in his grass-stained, wrinkled clothes from the day before, he sniffed the air. "Toast? Did you say.. breakfast?" Silas looked at Dora appreciatively. He rarely ate breakfast in the mornings.. just out the door and to work.
"After we eat... well, I should clean up and then once you lift the protections, apparate home for, uh," Silas gestured downward, "more appropriate attire, before work."

"Good morning sleepy head! I slept surprisingly well, and you?" Dora inquired. She had slept more soundly than she had in quite some time. Maybe it was because Silas was there.
Dora chuckled a bit and ruffled up Silas' hair. "I am afraid I am being a poor hostess this morning. Only cereal toast and fruit if you'd like it." she said to Silas as she motioned him toward the kitchen. "If you'd like tea or coffee I have both, your wish is my command" Dora giggled and gave him a dainty little curtsey (SP). As she sat down at the counter she waved her wand and toast and cereal floated over and placed themselves quite nicely in front of her and Silas' seats.
"You may use whichever bathroom suits you. Mine is a bit bigger, but the other two are suitable to wash up in. Darn I need to fix that gaping hole in the wall later!" Dora jotted herself a note on the pad she kept on the counter. "Whenever you are ready I will lift the enchantments. Magorian won't attack again anytime soon, that's just not his style" she could spit she was so darn angry.

| Granddaddy Ravenclaw | | Jermione Granger "I slept much better than I do most nights." Well, it wasn't a lie. He had slept better, despite the troubling dream his mind was grappling with at present. Usually, he awoke in the middle of the night, unable to get back to sleep. So actually resting was welcome change.
"Whatever is lovely, thank you." He followed her into the kitchen and sat down. Taking a bite of his toast, Silas smiled. "Mmm. Food." They'd never gotten around to actually eating yesterday, after all the excitement. His stomach was grateful for the bit he was able to give it. Dabbing his mouth with a napkin, Silas asked a question he knew probably wouldn't go over well, but he felt compelled to ask.
"Dora, are you sure you're going to be ok here by yourself?" Silas was worried. He clearly couldn't stay here all the time, but he had this terrible feeling in the pit of his stomach that wasn't even vaguely food related.

" I am glad that you rested well, I usually hog all of the space, but I guess I passed out and didn't move much." Dora smiled, she slept MUCH better with Silas here... odd. Dora poured herself some cereal and piled some fruit on top and dug in. She was absolutely famished. She flicked her wand toward the coffee pot and set it to work, then she flicked it toward the refrigerator and juice came flying out and poured itself in the glasses in front of them.
Dora thought about Silas' last question for a long moment before answering. Would she be okay? Surely she could protect herself... but she made a blunder so phenominal yesterday that she was beginning to doubt herself. "You know Silas, I can't say for certain that something like this won't ever happen again, I don't know. But there isn't anything I can do about my living situation, is there? |I can't ask anyone to endanger themself just to make me feel protected, can I? No, I just have to be better about setting up my protective perimeter and keeping it up" she added the last part with a bit of venom. She was so angry with herself for makig such a huge mistake that she actually pounded her fist on the counter. "What would you suggest I do, Silas? I cannot leave here, I love it to much. And as I pointed out, I cannot endanger anyone else." she looked to him for answers. Answers that would set her mind at ease, solve her problems, but she knew that was asking too much.

| Granddaddy Ravenclaw | | Jermione Granger Silas just had a chillling thought. If that guy had been here and saw him, it wasn't just a matter of Silas being in danger when he was here. If he really was as deranged as Dora has said, well, then Silas wasn't safe anywhere. Really, it was nothing new to him, but all the same, it gave him pause.
"Dora, listen. I've dealt with madmen who won't stop at anything.. If this guy is really that bad, well, then my being here doesn't put me in any more danger than me being at home, if he has any idea how I feel about you." Silas took her hand and continued before she could speak. "And don't apologize for that. I can watch my back. With family like mine, you learn young that you always have to." Silas kissed the top of her hand.
"I just want to make sure that you're going to feel ok. I can't stay here all the time -- but will sometimes if you want me to. And if I can't be here, well... if you don't want to be alone, you are always welcome to come to my flat."
Silas hadn't even anticipated letting Dora into his space... but what had happened yesterday was a game-changer. Whether his dream was just the workings of his exhausted mind or an actual message, he knew what he had to do. And he'd do it, whether Dora let him or not.

Dora was lost in thought for a moment. Oh Merlin! Silas was in danger anywhere... Dora would have to face Magorian and end this, once and for all. There was a cold, dank cell in Azkaban with his name on it. She tried to speak, she wanted to say she was sorry a million times over, but Silas spoke before she could. Wow, this guy really is something! Dora thought.
Dora looked into his eyes and smiled. "Silas, you know I am going to apologize, regardless. So, I am sorry that you have gotten caught in the crosshairs of this maniac. " she shuddered a bit. "You are welcome to come to my home anytime you please and I would love to visit your home as well. There is something I have to take care of first. Maybe I can make it safer, maybe I can end this. I will begin making plans today and probably leave tomorrow." She took a deep breath and said, "You really are fantastic and I do...um... Iloveyou" she mumbled the last all jumbled together and quickly hopped up. "I...uh... I guess I will...erm... send you word when I am going to leave and when I get back. Don't you worry, I am a professional!" She knew Silas would not like the idea of her setting off on her own to duel a madman and capture him, all while trying not to get killed. She had finally found something real again and wasn't giving him up without a fight. Dora knew what to do and how she had to go about it and nothing Silas could say would sway her opinion.

| Granddaddy Ravenclaw | | Jermione Granger Silas was quite startled. Leaving? By herself?
She... loves him?
Jumping up after her, Silas grabbed Dora's wrist. "Don't you dare," he said softly. "Don't you dare say something like that and then leave me here wondering if you're ever coming back." He put a hand her face and stroked it gently as tears welled in his eyes.
"Look at me.. I haven't so much as had a friend in the last ten years, but when I'm with you..." Silas blinked and a tear fell from his eye and hung on his cheek. "Well, how do you think I feel?" He pulled her to him then, and kissed her deeply. His mind raced and his stomach knotted at the possibility that she would leave and that he would lose her.
Pulling away, he looked into her eyes, pleading. "Please. Let me help you," he whispered softly and he placed his forehead against hers. He could do it. He'd done it before. And he could kill when he really needed to...

Dora was taken aback when Silas grabbed her...and even more surprised when tears began to well in his eyes... one stray escaped. Oh Merlin! I can't let him come with me and I can't leave him now. She felt his kiss in the tips of her toes. She knew he wasn't going to give up and honestly she didn't want him to.
"Silas, you have no idea how happy you have made me" she chuckled. Considering the circumstances that was funny. They had fought and been through hell and back in the short time they had known one another, but it rang true for Dora. She felt.... whole again.
"Silas, I cannot allow you to set off on this journey with me. It is out of the question." she said just as quietly as he had spoken to her. "What I can do is postpone it until I have evidence of his whereabouts and what he's up to. I won't leave in such a hurry and run into this blindly, if that will make you feel better. You just don't understand that I have to be the one to finish this, no one else." She hugged him more tightly and wished she had met him AFTER all of this was over instead of smack dab in the middle of it. The last thing she wanted was for Silas to get hurt... or worse, killed.... NO NO NO... this would end now. Dora would just leave after work today and set off without telling him. Hopefully it would be quick and he wouldn't even realize she was gone... hopefully. He would understand one day that she had to do this for him.... for THEM. She reached up and wiped the lonely tear from his face and whispered, "I won't let anything happen to myself, or to you Silas. That is a promise." Then she averted her eyes, she had to lie to him, she had to leave and take care of this.... But did she have the strength?
