Background:
Dora Lovegood just recently returned to her home country after being in the US working for their Ministry. Dora is a half- blood witch with a bubbly personality but a short temper. She has recently been through a lot of ups and downs, but her co- worker, Silas, has seemed to give her a reason to stick around. Their "interaction" has started to bring out a new light in Dora.

ooc: This thread will give Dora a place to be with her friends and Silas. Dora's character will grow and learn more and more about herself.

Locations:

Dora's house: Inherited from a wizarding relative, Dora just recently renovated and moved into a new home. A sizeable home that reminds one of a farm house. The interior is just as bright as Dora's appearance and personality. Located inside the foyer is a talking mirror that gives out compliments or criticism... whichever is needed. Then you enter the large living room space where you see a ton of eclectic furniture in great colors and abstract shapes. There is a lovely fireplace, on the mantle there is a great collection of wizarding photgraphs. These photos range from her family to former co- workers from the US. The kitchen is very spacious and bright. One wall is nothing but windows, letting natural light spill in. The only room in the house that isn't bright and welcoming is Dora's "office"... well she practice's magic there and brews potions. Here are Dora's more personal photos and keepsakes. She keeps it locked away just like the memories.

There now hangs a portrait of the former lady of the house. She crossed over but felt that Silas needed her portrait to feel better... Besides, she couldn't fully leave her children or her husband so abruptly. Over time she will stop visiting the portrait, but for now she stands waiting for her loved ones to come to her. The other portrait hangs in her niece's bedroom, hung with a permanent sticking charm.

Dora's yard:

Dora has a grand yard that back's onto an enchanted forest with tons of trails and adventures to be had. Living in a Wizarding area Dora is free to fly or do whatever else she fancies outdoors. There is also a sizeable garden which Dora maintains. It is home to magical and Muggle plants alike, there are also pixies and gnomes that roam about. In the center of the garden is a lovely golden domed gazebo with a double swing that is perfect for cozying up on.

The Lake:

Dora's property is also home to a fantastic lake that is home to all sorts of magical creatures and plants. The creatures are well behaved though, so Dora swims often when the weather is nice.

Dora laughed as Calla turned upside down and let go of the broom. "I would be careful doing that over the lake! Wouldn't want to fall in!" Dora hollered to her, laughing.

Just then she spottd one of those pesky little gnomes trying to pull her cat's tail."Oh no you don't you slippery little booger!" she exclaimed as she zoomed around and headed back over the lake in hot pursuit. She leaned very low on her Fireblot and willed it faster. She was nothing more than a blur in the sky by the time she reached the pesky little thing. Grabbing it by the arm as she flew low over the ground she cried out, "Gotcha!" Laughing she pulled up and went higher, higher, higher. As she flew way above the trees she started to hover and flung the little devil as hard as she could into the trees below. "Stay out of my garden and away from my stuff!" The little gnome never stopped swearing at Dora and kicking and spitting. even as he fell into the darkness of the forest he weas yelling obscenities.

Calla was enjoying the time on the broom she was doing loops, 8's, zig-zags and was in the middle of what she loveling refered to as a lopp-ti-loop when Dora was off again. She nabbed that gnome with a quickness! Once she disposed of the gnome Calla called to her, "Why didn't you go pro?"

Dora shrugged as she flew closer to Calla. "I decided I could more good in the world as an Auror. I had been leading up to it anyway so it wasn't a very big leap. After graduation I just took off to the US and did it. jumped headlong into training and fell in love with it." she said nonchalantly. There were a million reasons why Dora wished she had chosen the other path, but there was nothing she could do about that now. She breezed around with her arms in the air letting the wind hit her in the face.

"Well, think about it though," Calla paused,"if you had taken a different path you might not have met Silas!" Calla loved how it seemed everything happen for a reason.

Calla felt a strong breeze come through, it was cold, but exhilerating. She leaned into the broom stick and took off toward the house again. "So what's up with that big tent" She yelled to Dora when she got close.

Dora nodded and smiled. Silas was definitely the upside to it all. When Calla asked her what the tent was she smiled brighter still and dropped down into a spin and said, "Follow me."

Pulling up in the broom right before she crashed into the ground she laughed jovially and skidded to a stop and dismounted her broom. "This is Silas's handiwork! Isn't it great?" she said throwing her arms wide. "Wanna give them a try? I will explain if you want to."

Intrigued Calla spun after Dora. "Absolutely, what is it?" Calla rubbed her hands together and blew a hot breath into them; her hands had gotten more than a little chilly up there.

Juniper had been watching them fly from the ground. She had had every intention to fly with them but was amazed at their moves and was rooted to the ground. When she saw them land by the tent she dashed over. "So whats in the tent Dora? I was amazed by yalls flying and missed the conversation?" Juniper felt bad for making Dora repeat herself but was very interested in the tent and didn't want to miss a thing about it.

Walking to the tent and stepping inside she waved her wand to set the lighting on and said, "Well, this is my stress reliever, courtesy of Silas."

She walked to the booth with the pyramid of bottles and said, "At this station you have a bowl of balls that you try to throw and break those bottles down there, see." She picked up one of the softballs and threw it as hard as she could at the glass bottles amazed at how great the busting glass sounded. "They reform and you can have another go. " she explained with a smile as the bottles came back to be before their eyes.

Stepping to the next booth she raised her wand and pointed at the dress making dummies and said, "You just have fun blasting these as much as you wanna." Chopping her wand through the air she yelled, "Stupefy!" and watched in amazement as the dummy was blasted back into the back of the booth before rolling back up to the front. "They only roll back, not forward, that way you can blast to your hearts content." she explained before moving on.

"This one is pure genius, if you ask me. See, you drop the bottles down here" she said as she picked up one of each color bottle;green, red and blue, and dropped them into the abyss of the booth. "Wait for it.... See, after 60 seconds you get a beautiful piece of glassware." she exclaimed holding up the beautiful multicolored bowl.

"Step up and give them all a try!" she said with a wave of the hand.

Calla was amazed to say the least. Each booth Dora explained seemed more wonderful that the one before. "Wow girl! Silas made this all for you?" Calla was in disbelief. "Talk about love huh?" Calla picked up a ball and pitched it straight at the glass pyramid, she didn't hit one. "I'm pretty miserable at that!" She tried another, and hit the corner of the pile of bottles, a couple fell, and then like she said, rebuilt themselves.

"This is really amazing, I'm sure it was alot of work putting all this together." Calla was amazed at all the work he put forth just for Dora, "He's a special one - don't let him go" Calla smiled lightly and moved over to the glass making machine. She picked up a blue and purple bottle, dropped in it and after a minute retrieved a wondeful color-clashing bowl! She was very pleased with it. She then walked over to the dummy station and yelled, "Expelliarmus"

"I have no intention on letting Silas go! He hasn't run off yet so I don't think he's going anywhere." she said with a laugh. "He really is very thoughtful. I was smashing up stuff in the house one night and he had this brilliant idea and he snuck up in the property and voila this is what I found when I came out." she said thoughtfully. Oops! She probably should not haave said anything about smashing up the house, but oh well, it was out now she couldn't take it back.

She laughed when Calla pulled out a bowl. She walked over and grabbed red, blue, and green bottles and dropped them herself. This time there was a vase that came up. She smiled thoughfully and shook her head in disbelief. Silas was absolutely fantastic.

Turning back to the dummies she got herself into a defensive stance and one by one she went down the line yelling, "Expelliarmus! Reducto! Stupefy!" She smiled as the dummies went rolling about and moving back to place. "He is trying to help me vent my anger so I don't attack him, I think" she said before doubling over with laughter.

"Well, so it was not as much a thoughtful gift as it was self-defense?!?" Calla was nearly on the floor with laughter! Calla had wondered if Dora had a bit of a bad temper, so this was no surprise to her. Calla was just going to make sure she stayed on Dora's good side. Facing back to the dummies she screamed, "Reducto, Engorgio, Reducto!" Taking a small break from torturing the dress mannequins she remembered it was coming up on Christmas time. "Oh a green and red glass something would be fabulous!" She skipped over to it, grabbed one green and one red bottle placed them in the contraption and waited. Out popped a glass servicing dish that was perfect for any Christmas feast.

"Wow Dora! I need one of these tents." Juniper absolutely loved everything in the tent. She went over and grabbed a green and yellow bottle, threw them in the hole and out came a a distorted mug. Juniper laughed, she was having a great time. She walked to the dummies and threw spells at them with her new friends. "I had a fit or two where I broke everything in my house. I can't remember why I did it though. I haven't done it in a while, luckily everything was fixed pretty easily." Juniper glanced at Dora, she hoped that made her feel better about breaking her things. Although, she was sure Dora's reason was alot better than hers. "Calla, I think we need one of these in our backyard. Do you think we could pull one off as good as Dora's?"

Dora skipped over to the gazebo where she could still see the girls having at it with the carnival booths. She plopped down on the swing and pulled her feet up under herself and motioned for them to go ahead. She had a lot to think about with Silas. She would love some advice but she couldn't reveal Silas' secrets... She could tell them her own. Or could she? Would they run off and never look back if they knew what she had just gone through?

Wow, Calla had some hot tempered friends! But it was no matter, Calla was pretty easy going so that anger it wouldn't ever be directed at her ~ she hoped. "Haha, we might have to employ Silas for that!" Calla laughed.

She hadn't had this much fun in ages, she was greatful for her new friends. Calla picked another ball and attempted to hit the pyramid, this time it was dead on and glass came shattering down. That felt good.

Calla saw Dora walking over to the swing, she looked upset. Calla started to go to her, but she seemed like she didn't want the company. "Hey June, what do you think is wrong with Dora?" She tried to ask this while tossing another ball as to not seem obvious.

June watched Dora walk away, and Calla asked a question. She picked up a ball and threw it as she replied, "I'm not sure, but I think it has to do with why she smashed up her house. I don't think she meant to tell us that. She made a funny little face after she said it. I would go talk to her but, I don't think I know her well enough to pry into her life." She threw another ball and this time knocked down the pyramid. "Maybe we could do something to help cheer her up, do you know any of her favorite food?" Eating my favorite foods always cheers me up, but will it help Dora? "Or do you have any ideas?"

Dora snapped out of her thoughts and jumped up. "I apologize, ladies. I am being a poor hostess. What do you say we go in and warm up and have some good food?" she said with a huge grin as she loped back toward them.

Calla was about to answer June, but her thoughts were inturupted by Dora's voice. "You're being a wondeful host! But it is getting a little cold, I wouldn't mind going in." She chucked the ball at the pyramid once more for good measure, grabbed the moontrimmer broom was was on earlier and waited for Dora to lead the way. "I could really use a butterbeer, You have any in the house?"

Calla wanted to ask Dora if she was alright, ask her if she wanted to talk about anything, but thought maybe there will be a better time later to dive into that. Not to mention Calla thought it would be best if Dora opened the conversation, it seemed any time anyone mentioned anything about Silas or a baby or a future with Silas she went kinda cold and quiet.

Dora smiled and led them into the kitchen. "I have something better than butterbeer, deary!" she said with a grin. Walking over to the big glass topped bar she brought out a bottle of firewhisky and three glasses. "This will warm you all up very quickly."

She poured the glasses and set the bottle down to focus on food. With a few complicated waves of her wand she brought the kitchen to life with the clang of pans, the smell of food cooking, and the warmth of stove heating it all. "There, that ought to do it. We'll have Onion Soup, treacle tart, warm bread and a salad. How's that?"

Calla followed Dora into the house, aaahh the warmth! She placed the broom back in it's closet and went to the firewhiskey and drank it down with the quickness. "oh man!" Calla felt herself instantly warmed, and started peeling off the layers of clothing she had warn to protect herself from the chill. She slumped down in a chair, closed her eyes and relaxed. It felt so nice to be with Dora and Juniper just hanging out. The warmth of the house and the smell of the food made her feel extremely drowsy. Then with a large lazy sigh she opened her eyes to answer the chef, "Yes that sounds wonderful! Would you like any help?"

"I can't remember why I don't drink this more often." Juniper plopped down next to Calla and pulled her feet under her. "That sounds great, I'll be gald to help too Dora, just say the word."

"No help needed dears... it's magic!" she said after taking a huge gulp from her glass. She smiled at the horrible pun and shook her head.

"It is great, isn't it. We only have to sit back and let the tools do it for us." she said with a flick of her wand. The soup finally went on the stove preparing to warm, the bread into the oven, the treacle tart was cooling in the icebox and the salad was assembling itself on the counter. "So, what do you girllies wanna gossip about this evening? Any boys in your lives? Dora asked with a grin.

"No man except my father and my owl named Pumpkin. I dunno, I kinda like it that way. I mean, a guy would be nice but for one I'm not very good with people, and I just don't want to worry about another person right now." Juniper rambled out her words. "Now if I could find a really good guy like you have Dora, I might reconsider." Juniper fiddled with her glass and took another drink. She had a feeling she rambled a little too much and decided to not keep going.
