With that Emily know Melinda wasn't afaird of the whole dieing aspect. Just that she knew she was going to die. As Emily knew some wizords and witches had ablities. Though she didn't know Mel's she knew it was something to let her know this. "I understand you don't want to hurt him. But don't you think he has a right to know?" She said feeling Melinda take her hands. "Chris is one once he is told something he likes to ponder over it. But this I don't know. I think you need to follow your heart and do what you feel is right and when it is right." She said. Haha how funny follow her heart when it's the thing causing all this to happen. FYI no pun intended

Melinda nodded. "Yes, he has the right to know. And I'm willing to tell him everything right now." She kept on nodding, she was sure about what she was just going to do. Gulp.

"I feel better now. Can Chris come in, now?" Mel asked Emily, smiling at her and thanking her with a light care of her hands.

Emily nodded to Melinda's question. "Yes I will go get him." She said letting go of Mel's hands and smiled. She got up and walked back out into the hall. Where she found her two sons sitting on the steps. She went over and picked up Nick. "Your turn Chris." She said and walked back down stairs still trying to make some sense of what happened.

Nick looked as his mum came and picked him up. "I want to see Mel." He said as they walked back down stairs towards the living room.

"You will...later." Emily told Nick.

Chris walked back into his room and shut the door behind him. He went and sat down on the bed next to Melinda taking her hand into his. He smiled a small smile to her. Then out of no where he kissed her on her lips. Just a little bit ago he was scared half to death that she wasn't going to wake up. But now that she was awake he didn't want to be apart from her for one second.

Melinda heard Nick wanting to stay with them. She frowned. But things had to be done in time, and this was it. And Nick was not supposed to be there when truth was said.

As Chris walked in, sat by her, Mel smiled at him until he started kissing her. She kissed him back for a little while then pulled out. She smiled at him. "Chris...there is something...I think I've figured out what's happening." She commented, immediately turning those lips into a frown. She bit her lip, then took his hand, taking deep breaths to get the courage and tell him.

Chris smiled as he felt Mel kiss him back. But at she pulled back he did the same. Wait why did she make this sound like a bad thing? But then he saw that frown play on her lips. He was confused and she would know because his nose was wrinkled. "Well what is it then?" He asked feeling Melinda take his hand. It couldn't be that bad could it?

"I've..." Melinda started up a sentence, trying to get the right words to tell Chris about her heart condition getting worse every month. "I've been having heartaches every month, no relation to stress nor anything in my life. The next days, I have terrible nightmares, of me..." She stopped, she couldn't tell Chris what was in her dreams, her vision of herself dead.

She looked away, trying to find something to hold on to.

Chris listened to Melinda explain that she keeps having heartaches. He took a deep breath trying to figure this out. If it wasn't stress or anything like that why would this be happening again? And nightmares...but of what. Herself? But what happened? Grahhhh to many questions! He noticed Mel look away.

"Umm well what happened to you in these nightmares?" He asked speaking softly. This question could possibly answer his others.

"I die. I am a ghost, then come the nightmares when no one knows about me." Melinda said, after a long sigh and thought about telling him or not.
"You know this heart won't last forever. You know that I'm doing all these things like crazy, to live like a normal person before you know, it stops beating." She told him, breaking into a long cry.

Melinda was feeling really bad for telling this to Chris, but it was the time...right?

Die that word that one little but evil word made Chris remember that feeling of having a broken heart. His face went white almost ghost white. Die? He himself had to fight off tears. He didn't want to cry not right now anyways. Chris nodded of course he knew that nobody lives forever. But she was so young they were both young. The thought of death and dieing was to hard to think about. He saw Melinda start crying and he hugged her. A tight hug as he brought her closer to his chest. He didn't know what to say or if he could say anything. He gulped.

Chris held Mel in his arms not wanting to let go. Dieing? There is no why she could die. She just couldn't.... "I love you." He said whispering and trying to keep his voice from cracking.

"I love you, and that's why this gets so hard to tell you because our time is running out, day by day...minute by minute. I can't stand that, I don't want to hurt you anymore. I love you too much and I don't want to see you suffering." Melinda hugged Chris back, saying I love you as much as she could .

"I'm sooo sorry." She finally said, after she stopped sobbing for a while.

Chris nodded everytime Melinda said she loved him. He let go of her and stood up. For no reason did he stand up he just didn't feel like he could sit there. He gulped again. "This isn't your fault" He started to say though he wasn't looking at her. He licked his lips. "this is not something you could have stopped from happening." He said still turned from Mel.

"Don't be sorry." He said and walked to the window looking out of it. "How long?" He asked knowing she would know what he meant.

"Ten to twelve years, top..." Melinda answered, breaking into another cry. She gulped again and again, trying to find Chris's eyes on the process, yet still thinking about those next years to come. The many nightmares she would have, the break-outs her heart would give her.

"We can do something, but it's quite dangerous and actually, there is no one available..." She talked about a medical transplant of heart, like with Muggles.

"...no one is compatible with my heart." She added.

At those words his heart just broke. Ten or twelve years? That was it. To some that could seem like awhile but right now it was to short. He rested on the wall next to the window and watch as rain came down. Seem right for the mode at the moment. Drip drip drip but the he heard Melinda crying again. He himself had lost the battle to crying and tears now came down he let them come freely. Though it didn't last long he soon wiped them away and they stopped. This was no time to be weak. He felt a pain in his stomach and chest an empty sort of pain.

When Chris heard her mention a heart transplant. He didn't react at first then shook his head. "Probably isn't the best idea. It's to dangerous. Unless that's what you feel you want. You could always wait for a heart." He said finally looking back at Melinda. Which he probably wasn't the best idea it just made him more sad knowing time was ticking. Tick,tock,tick,tock....

Melinda was out of tears, she just looked at Chris, right into his sad eyes. Those meant his heart was broken, again. And it was her fault.

She couldn't handle that. Melinda loved Chris way more than she could ever imagine and it was not in her imagination a life, or now...the rest of her life without him.

"I'm on hold for the heart transplant. I just accepted as a chance to be back to life. But...there isn't much hope." Truth must be said; a heart transplant was not a guarantee of life, just something that'd give you more years or it wouldn't work at all.

"Come..." Melinda motioned for Chris to sit next to her. "...please."

That came as no shock to Chris. He knew heart transplants work risky business, if you don't end up dieing during the darn surgery you die with in a couple of years. That is if you are lucky. They only by you some time. "I know there isn't." He told Melinda and bit his lip maybe a little hard then he normally would have.

He say her motion him to sit next to her. He at first didn't know if he could even move his legs. But Chris did as she wanted and sat down next to her. That is what he would do from now on. Do as she wants which in some respect could be hard. He took her hand. He looked staight into her eyes. And suddenly started saying random words in Bulgarin. Mostly no and why.

Once there, Melinda rested her head on his shoulder, smelling that forest scent she always loved. "Thank you...for being here with me, all this time. Thank you, for everything you've done for me." She said, holding his hand tight and feeling sleepy all of the sudden. But she was not going to give up, not now. She was happy around Chris.

Chris felt Melinda rest her head on his shoulder. He kissed her forehead slightly put one arm around her shoulder and kept holding her hand. "I promise I will stay with you." He trailed off at the end. "Same for me." He told her. And actaully some how he managed a smile a small smile. But it was not forced it was really. Though he knew about Mel's health he still loved being around her and nothing would ever change that. Nothing....

"Ready for your seventh year?" Melinda suddenly changed the subject. It was that chance to give him a reason to not wonder too much about her health, take care of his business first rather than worry about her.

She moved, in order for her to wrap her right arm around Chris and rest again on his chest.

Chris shrugged. "Yeah I guess. Though I'm sad I don't want to leave. I really don't want to leave Hogwarts. But I know I have to. But I will miss seeing my friends almost every day." He told Melinda. He was thankful for a subject change. He didn't want to think death or dieing anymore. He would have to do so later anyways.

Chris watched Melinda has she moved to rest her head on his chest. He smiled slightly.

Melinda nodded to Chris's desire as to not leave Hogwarts. "I understand you, I never wanted to leave the place either, but you knew why it had to happen. You, have to enjoy it for me, double the fun as I didn't enjoy my seventh year in there. MMkay?" She suggested, giving him a cheery smile.

"Yes I know you never wanted to leave." Chris told Melinda. "Alright it's a deal." He said and leaned down giving her a kiss on the cheek. "So how is everything going for you? School,work, weird and overly protective grandmother." He said having no choose but to smile back to her.

Melinda smiled to Chris as he agreed to have double the fun the term to come. She reached up to kiss his lips and stay there for a few seconds, in time to answer to his question.

"Well, school. I will finish next summer on courses, but I require hours at the restaurant I work with to graduate with all honours...hehe. I hope I can manage that. And as Mirelda...I shall only say, she's being a nice person after all. She needed someone of us to get married, as you remember JoAnne did so this past january..." She commented with a wide smile.

Wonder if they'd go down the aisle and get married. Chris and Mel.

Chris felt Melinda kiss his lips. Though it was for a few seconds he kissed her. And smiled his wide smile. After that talk they just had he never thought that would happen again.

Chris nodded. "Honours eh? I'm sure you will be able to. Top in your class. Well how long do you think it's going to take to finish up there?" He asked. Yes yes he well wanted to make sure he would be able to see her as soon as they both had time to do so. "Wait did you just say nice? Well she must liked who she married then." He said to Melinda. Hmmm Chris had thought about marrige before but never for long. Maybe it was time to find out what Mel thought of this. "So do you ever think you will get married?" He asked. Then softly added. "To me?"

"Mirelda, like the guy JoAnne married. I don't think so." Melinda answered with a laugh. "She is happy that JoAnne is expecting twins, two boys...the first boys of the Jacques family." She was proud to say she was going to be an aunt. At least she was looking forward to change those diapers the first day while JoAnne rested.

Then, Mel knew what Chris had just thought about, who later said it outloud. She went speechless. "I have...imagined myself in a dress walking down the aisle as you wait for me...obviously, yes, I've thought about marrying you. How about you?" She asked. This was a question regarding her ticking years.

"Well I didn't think that was the case. Nobody is good enough for any Jacques girls." Chris told Melinda teasingly. "Ahhh that makes more sense. Twins? Well well well I think I know who is going to have to babysit." He said smiling.

Well alright so she has thought about marrying him. Chris nodded to her question. "Yeah a little bit. But Mel what if I do become this big famous rockstar icon. I don't know how much I would be around. Would you still feel the same way?" He asked actually quite worried about her answer.
