"Yeah, I know...and I'm sorry..." Melinda said, giving him a cheer up smile then going apart from the hug. "As for me, don't worry. Follow that dream of yours, like I did...If we don't get to see each other that much time, well...it's because it was not meant to be. But, I hope that we see each other, I will reply to your letters, I'll even go visit if permitted..." She said with a smile.

Melinda smiled and turned around, starting to walk hand in hand with Chris. "Where is your family?" She asked, with a wide grin, excited to see them.

Chris let go of Melinda when she let go of him. "Alright I won't worry." He said. But nodded when Mel said if they didn't see each other that much maybe it wasn't meant to be. "Yeah I hope we do too. Visit? Hmm maybe that could happen. That's only if you really want to." He said smiling.

Chris started walking. "Don't know where my mum is. My dad and Nick are out back probably playing Quidditch." He said as they walked through the kitchen towards the door that lead out into the back yard. And sure enough they were both on broomsticks tossing a quaffle around.

Melinda smiled."I'll try my best. I mean, grandma can't keep me close to her when I'm already almost nineteen years old...and about to end my schooling. I'd have to go someplace...and practice my skills..." She said, giving Chris a wink. "And really, America...is like one of my many dreams to turn into reality...so, I'd love to be there and mostly if you are there." She was sincere, she was in that need of telling Chris how much he meant to her and what could she do in close future just for him.

"I'm sure your mom would be still inside the house. Or did she have any plans like go to the groceries or something?" One question popped into Mel's mind. "Well, let's just wait until she shows up...though I'm really excited to see you all four..." She told Chris with a smile. And just when they were walking into the backyard, Charlie and Nick were playing Quidditch.

"Good day, Mr. Kaplan...Nick..." She yelled, greeted to them and waved.

Chris laughed slightly when Melinda said she was almost nineteen. "Wow I kind of forgot you are turning nineteen. You know everytime I'm around you a feel a lot younger than I am. But that's right she can't anymore." He told Mel. Chris smiled when she said she would love to be there mostly because of him. "Well I hope you can come then." He said.

"Yeah I'm sure I've just been distracted with..." Ahh was he really going to tell Melinda that Lena had come by before hand. Might as well since they were on this whole honesty kick. "these old records Lena gave me." He said. "But I'm sure dad knows where she is." He said shrugging.

"Hey Dad Nick." He called up to them.

Charlie had just thrown the quaffle to Nick when he heard voices. "Nick hold up." He said and landed his broom. "Hello Melinda. Nice to see you again." He said smiling.

Nick heard his dad when he caught the quaffle he looked down at Chris and Melinda. He too landed his broom bringing it over to the three of them. "Hey." He said smiling wide to Melinda. He looked and saw the two holding hands. He knew how he could get that to stop heehee. "Chris think fast." He said throwing the quaffle at him.

"Dad where's mum?" He asked rasing and eyebrow. But then he watched Nick come over and throw the quaffle at him. He caught the quaffle between his stomach and his other arm. "Nice try bud." He said throwing the quaffle back at him.

"She went out. She will be back soon." Charlie told Chris. Then saw the two throw the quaffle at each other. "Nick Chris does not need to get hurt this summer." He said joking as he messed up Nick's hair. Though he knew he didn't do it to hurt Chris.

Melinda listened to Charlie comment Chris about Emily going out. Well, she'd be seeing her later, let's hope.

"Yes, Chris...we don't want anyone hurt..." Melinda teased him and smiled at both Nick and Chris and watched as both tossed the quaffle against each other.

"So, Nick...how's your summer going?" She asked, starting a conversation and noticing Chris' broom was near, so she went to get it and immediately hopped onto it.

"A match?" She dared both.

Chris chuckled at Melinda's comment. "Yes we don't want that to happen." He said.

"Summer has been good. Playing a lot of Quidditch of course." Nick told Mel and smiled. He then noticed Melinda grap Chris's broom and get on. "Yeah!" He said getting back on his own broom.

Emily walked back into the house shutting the door behind her. Seeing nobody was around she figured they were outside like always. She walked out back and saw Charlie, Chris and Nick. And noticed Mel on Chris' broom. She smiled walking over to her husband and put an arm around his waist. "Hi Melinda." She said waving towards her.

"Chris here." He said and handing him his broomstick. He then noticed Emily come out back he smiled and put his arm around her shoulders and gave her kiss on the top of her head.

Chris noticed Melinda go and get his broom. He laughed slightlt but then saw his dad offer his. "Thanks dad." He said taking the broom and getting on it. "Nick quaffle." He said putting one hand out for it.

Nick saw Chris ask for the quaffle but instead of just throwing it he hit the ball with the back of his broom sending it flying behind Chris towards the forest.

"Thanks Nick." He said slightly sarcastic and headed to go get it.

Already up in the sky on the broom, Mel noticed Emily, Chris' mom had arrived. She waved and tried to speak, but her voice was a bit lower than normal. Was it her heart problems, bothering her again? Well, let's not care about it much for now, she was going to have fun playing Quidditch.

Nick and Chris started to toss the quaffle back and forth. Just then, Nick hit it too hard, among the many trees in that deep forest behind the Kaplan Residence. She giggled, then thought about a solution to such dilemma. "Call it up, you're already seventeen, I...presume." Melinda suggested to Chris, summon the quaffle was the hint.

Charlie and Emily thought they should just leave the three of them to play Quidditch as they went back in and so they did.

Chris stopped where he was when Melinda said just call it. Well duhhh! He could use magic now. Well he could before if his parents were around but now he didn't need to have them around heehee. "Riiiiiiiiight I know that." He said. He took out his wand and said "Accio quaffle." And with in a few seconds the ball was coming back to him. Chris caught it before it was able to hurt him in anyway. He put his wand back and throw the quaffle towards Mel.

Melinda giggled as Chris commented he already knew about his non-restriction of magic now that he was of age. "Right...you knew it." She said, catching the quaffle at the instant.

"Now, let's try this technique...ABC's. I say a word with A...I toss the quaffle to Nick...he follows with B...tosses it to you...then we try with two quaffles. This shall get interesting as four are tossed among us.." She mentioned, giving both Kaplan boys a shifty smile.

Chris watch Melinda as she caught the quaffle. "Pshhh yeah I knew it. I might have well just forgot for a moment. But I knew it." He told Mel nodding his head. Actaully he really hadn't used magic that much. He mum and dad really didn't like him to with all the muggle neighbors they had. If he wasn't being careful that would be so good now would it?

Chris cocked his head at Melinda. Four quaffles??? Hmmm this could get interesting. "Sounds good to me. How 'bout you Nick?" He asked his brother.

Nick had gotten bored waiting-although it had only been a few minutes if that much-and started to fly around on his broom. But he did hear what Mel had said about the game. Nick stopped. "Sure why not." He said shrugging.

Melinda took a deep breath, making sure she had set up the challenge correctly. "Okay...A...Abraxans." She said, throwing the quaffle towards Nick. "First round shoud be only one quaffle, the next...we go on two, then on three, then four..." She told them.

But there was something. Melinda wasn't actually feeling alright. She knew what was happening, her height paranoia was coming back, again.

Nick caught the quaffle Melinda throw. "B Boggart." He said throwing it to Chris. Then nodded to what she had said about one for the first round and more shall be added later.

Chris caught the quaffle with one hand. He looked over at Melinda. She didn't seem quite right. He was about the throw the quaffle to her but something was not alright. "Mel you okay?" He asked her kind of worried.

Melinda shook her head. She wasn't going to lie anymore. Her head was spinning, her heart was pounding fast. Symptoms of taquicardia. She slowly set the broom to go down to the floor and once setting floor on ground, Melinda took a breath of relief. "I don't know what's happening. I'm sorry..." She felt so bad, her fun had been interrupted.

GAhh...

Chris watched as Melinda got of the broom. He throw the quaffle back to Nick and did the same. As soon as he was on the ground he went straight for Mel. "It's alright. It's not a big deal." He now know he had to make it up to Nick. "You sure you don't know what happened?" He asked.

Nick did the same as Chris and Mel and landed. He brought the ball and broom over to the two of them. He looked at Chris then to Mel and back. He had a worried sort of confused look on his face having no idea what was going on.

"I immediately felt a huge headache and my heart is pounding like..." Melinda was feeling nausea, she closed her eyes, then taking back a glance at Chris, he looked blurry. This had not happened since the day she fainted in front of the whole school when at the lake in Hogwats.

She so didn't mean to scare the poor seven year old. She gave him a fainted smile. But then...blankk!!! She was slowly fading onto the ground with weakness.

Her heart had given her a black-out.

"Mel maybe we should." Chris couldn't finish what he was about to say. She had just faint. Oh no! He now started to panic. He fell to his knees and grapped her hand. "Mel!" He said trying to wake her up. Duh that was going to work he knew that. "No no no." He whispered in a very panic voice.

Nick's eyes widened as Melinda fell to the ground. He watch Chris panic. He slapped his head trying to make him calm down. His dad told him to do this if some freaked as Chris was doing. "Chris do something. Clearly she's not waking up that way." He told him.

Chris felt Nick slapped his head. "Ouch. Oh right right." He said picking Mel up into his arms. And went inside. "Mum." He yelled.

Emily ran into the kitchen. And saw Melinda in Chris's arms. "What happened???" She asked. "Never mind just bring her to your room and lay her down on your bed. Carefully." She said. "I will be up in minute." She said.

Chris nodded heading up to his room and put Melinda on his bed. He sat down next to his bed and took her hand. He was worried and his face showed it.

In her inconcious mind, Melinda was having the huge battle to go back to reality, face her headache and maybe horrible news that would come as soon as she was checked by Emily or a Muggle doctor. Though, she knew Emily was going to take care of her better than anyone.

"NO!" She woke up, making a huge yell and sitting up. Her breath was not constant, nor was her heartbeat. She reached her forehead, started to massage it as a try to get rid of her headache. Looking around, she saw Chris sitting by her. Mel immediately hugged him, starting to cry.

"This...will get worse, every time..." She whispered.

Chris sat there watching Melinda. Okay normally he was really good when this happened but it hadn't happen in awhile. And he had forgotten this feeling of being scared not knowing what was going on. But at least he had his mum here. Who would hopefully be up any minute now.

He heard that scream and made he jump back slightly. He gulped and before he knew it Melinda was hugging him and crying. Wow that brought back memories. He hugged her back and rubbed her back with one hand his other on the back off her head. "How long as this been going on again?" He asked as he felt her tears on to his shirt.

Emily walked in see the two hugging. Well at least Mel was awake now this would make everything loads easier. She sat down at the end of the bed and motioned to Chris to let go of her as she need to figure what happened. Emily not knowing about Melinda's health in the past.

Chris saw his mum come up and he did what she wanted. He let go of Melinda knowing she would be able to help. Or at least that's what he thought.

Emily then looked back at Melinda. "Could you fill me in a little as to what happened?" She asked.

Melinda kept hugging Chris. She was about to explain him everything about her constant headaches and dizzy moments. Just then, Emily entered and asked the same thing Chris had done. Melinda gulped. It was a bit hard to talk about her small heart problem now turning into a complete nightmare.

"I have a heart disease since I was a child. I thought it had gone, but from a month til now..." She paused, trying to think about the common symptoms those days, "...I have not been the same. I wake up during the late nights and scream, I have headaches, nauseas and my heart pounds as if...it could see something is wrong, like something bad is about to happen..." She whispered those last words. She was uncertain, though.

Emily nodded to Melinda's explaination. Though she knew she wouldn't be able to do much of anything. "Mel I can't really do much. I could take your pulse to actaully see how fast your rate is right now. Which wouldn't be a bad thing. But as to the nighmares, the screaming headaches and such. I have no answer. I don't know have you talk to anybody else about this?" She asked. But then looked at Chris. He still had the worried look on his face. She turned to him. "Chris right now everything will be alright." She started not knowing what would happen in the near future if this continued it would be good so to speak... "Why don't you just wait out in the hall for a minute Nick and your father will want to know everything is alright." Emily suggested.

Chris heard Melinda but then his mum saying he should leave for a minute. Leave?! But but... He couldn't say no he would be right outside the door anyways. He nodded to his mum and look back a Melinda. He gave her a kiss on the forehead and walked out of the room into the hall. He found Nick on the steps waiting. He sat down next to him and placed him on his lap with his arms around him. All he could do now is wait.

Melinda gulped at the mention of Chris leaving the room. Probably, she was going to have to explain Emily about her nightmares, and maybe even her ability to predict and read minds. She bit her lip and tried to smile as Chris kissed her forehead, but immediately frowned as he left and looked at Emily.

"I don't know what to say..." Melinda said, huffing air to take all the front hair out of her sight.

Emily looked at Melinda she looked maybe uncomfortable. Well it was worth a shot to make her talk anyways. "Hey it's alright if you don't want to talk I'm perfectly fine with that." She said. "Just here." She said taking Mel's wraist. She put her middle and index finger on it and looked at her watch. Thump thump thump. She let go after a minute. "I do have to say your heart is beating fast. But it could also be from stress. Just rest for a bit." She told her with a warm smile.

"Thank you." Melinda whispered as she let Emily take her arm and check her heart beatings.

Stress?"! Not at all...nuu...

"Work has been a bit tough these days, but that's why I took this week break off it. I don't think it's all stress, I think there are other...things I should consider as to why all this things keep happening to me." She bit her lip and let out a long sigh.

"My nightmares...are about my death. It's not too long that this heart won't hold on much. I'm condemned." She confessed. Maybe ten to fifteen years...

Wait did she just say her nightmares where about death? Her own death. And how she condemned to die...Well everybody was going to die but Emily was missing something. Missing a peice of this puzzle that was important. So none of this made sence to her. Was it Melinda was scaried of death? That was normal but something about this was not normal. "Mel I some how don't think I'm the one you should be talking to about this. I maybe think you should talk to Chris about this. I think he would understand it more then I do." She told her trying to still process it in her head which that wasn't working so well.

Melinda closed her eyes, trying to find a good explanation to why she had not told everything to Chris, Emily's son and Mel's love of life.

"I'm scared to tell him." Melinda said, taking both of Emiliy's hands. "He's the reason I've stayed all this time alive. I love him so much that I don't want to hurt him. I know that in no time, he'll have to hear from me about all this problems, why all this happens all of the sudden now...but I can't break his heart, not once again." She was still feeling too guilty about having to leave him to go live with Mirelda.
