Hai, I’m Lawraa, and this is an RP I came up with whilst listening to ‘You and Me’ by the Plain White T's.
You and me, we like the same kind of music,
That's why we, make a good you and me.
We got style, baby we know how to use it,
That's why we, make a good you and me.
You know what I'm going to say,
before my mouth even makes a sound,
And that's why we make a good you and me.
You and me, we couldn't stand being normal,
That's why we, make a good you and me.
We both laugh, at the most random situations,
That's the key, baby don't you agree? 'You and Me' - Plain White T's
It’s the summertime after their sixth year, and a group of friends who happen to live nearby each other are looking forward to spending everyday out in the sunshine, waiting until they can return to Hogwarts. They’re a bit of a mixed group, but they like it that way, and everyone knows that they are going to stay friends forever.
At least, that’s what they all think.
Although the groups a rather big one, there is only two couples amongst it, which surprises outsiders. It’s not that some of the other students don’t like each other, it’s that they aren’t brave enough to say, or scared it’ll ruin their friendship.
Everyone has that best friend of the other gender, but although James' been with Annie for two years now, it’s obvious to everyone that Leigh has fallen head over heels in love with him. Obvious to everyone except James, who’s still only see’s her in a friend way, although they’ve been inseparable since first year.
Shannon has been with Reece for a while too, but not for nearly as long as James and Annie. They seem close, but no one thinks it’s going to last; they’re complete opposites, Shannon, for want of a better word, is rather ‘Nerdy’ and Reece is an average ‘Jock’. He’s gorgeous, and he knows it. With the rest of the girls after him, will Shannon be able to hold on ‘till the end of Summer?
That’s it really. A long summer, all about each friend finding ‘the One’. Will the two already cemented relationships stick it out, or will James fall for Leigh, and Reece dump Shannon? Will the rest of the group find love, or will they go back to Hogwarts as alone as they where when they left it? With the friends still be as close, or will they all fall out? It’s all up to us as RPer’s!

My Bio's;
SPOILER!!: Brooke
Brooke Edwardson
Nickname/s: Brookie, Brookes, Ed, etc. Age: 17 Birthday: 3rd July Year: Going into 7th Heratige: Pureblood House: Slytherin Best Subject: Potions Worst Subject: Ancient Runes
Family and Background: Father: Blaise Edwardson Mother: Charlotte Edwardson Siblings: Jennifer Edwardson (12), Avery Bane (21)
Brookes parents were both of magical heritage, although her dad was a half-blood. Her parents deny this, and encourage Brooke to only make friends of pureblood Heritage. However, Brooke doesn’t understand the prejudice, and is somewhat ‘on-the-edge‘. Should she make friends with people despite teir background, or follow traditions because that’s how she grew up? In her first year, she decided to go with the former, and has made some great friends due to it. Although her parents are a little disappointed, they realise she is a very head strong girl who will do what she wants and have grown to love her despite this fact.
Personality: Brooke is extremely headstrong; when she wants to do something, she’ll go for it and nothing or no one can stop her. When she starts something, it must be finished, and she is dedicated and hardworking. True to a Snake, at times she can become devilish, and her ambition is beyond that of many people her age. But, overall, she is kind and sensitive, and a great friend to anyone. Brooke likes shopping, make-up and boys, the same as any other teenage girl, and enjoys spending time with her friends.
SPOILER!!: James
James Oliver Cross
Nickname/s: Jay, Jamie, etc. Age: 17 Year: 7th Heratige: Half Blood House: Gryffindor Best Subject: Flying Worst Subject: Herbology
Family and Background: Father: Paul Cross Mother: Jacqueline Cross [deceased] Siblings: None
Paul Cross is a professional Quidditch player; champion Chaser for none other than the England Team, whom he has seen through some of it’s finest matches. People would believe that that is who James gets his talent from. It is true that he’s a talented flier, but his history with his dad would have him deny that fact, and he claims to hate the sport. The history between James and Paul is due to the fact that James thinks that his father killed his mother whilst he was only young. James and his mother had been close, and although her death had been an accident at the hands of her husband, he resents his father for it, and is always the first to clam up when it comes to talking about families and homes.
Personality: Being a Gryffindor, James is bold and brave by trait, but he gets into trouble easily. He is good at most subjects except Herbology, and exels in Flying. His love of playing the clown can get him into sticky situations, however he doesn't care and believes that rules are made to be broken, which he seeks to do on every possible occasion. Despite his love of clowning, James can change mood’s in an instand, without warning. He tends to opt for ‘surly’ and ‘moody’ and often it’s because he is deep in thought, but it is mainly because of the way he has grown up. However, he loves being around his friends, they bring out the best in him, make him forget about home, and generally cheer him up. He resents the fact that he is a very talented flier, and claims that he hates Quidditch, when, in truth he loves the game. Also, he loves girls, and being around them, but his mysterious and moody manor can either turn them away or atract them. Any girl he has ever been with has gotten annoyed by his mood changes, and their relationships have been short term. However, he is really happy at his current relationship status, and is blissfully unaware of Leigh‘s love of him.

Texas Tamworth was NOT impressed. How dare her evil cow of a sister go and STEAL her lipgloss? Did she not KNOW about the sharing rule in that household? Obviously bloody not. That was IT. Sally-Anne's Gucci bag was NO MORE. Nope. Not now, the family dog had had it. GOOD ON IT.
Storming down the stairs of the house, Tex frowned as she found her twin sitting on the bottom of the stairs, head on his palms and just staring at the door. "Jackie? Go. Get out. Get lost. Go away. Any of them. To the park. NOW." Was he dumb? Obviously.
The blonde sighed, and rolled her eyes at him, before pulling on her blue heels and flouncing out of the door without a second murmur to the boy on the stairs. What did she care? He would only follow her anyways. GR. GR. It would have been SO much better if she had been an only child. SO MUCH BETTER.
Almost breaking into a run, in the direction of the park, Texas started humming a little tune to herself and frowned when she did get to her friends. "If you guys don't have anything planned, that's it. I'm going back to bed."
Jack Tamworth sat on the stairs of their countryside house and he sighed as he placed his chin onto his palms. Why on earth was he waiting for Texas? It wasn't like she would let him walk with her to the park. SHE couldn't be seen with him. It did something to her reputation. Or you know ... whatever.
She was such a cow. How were they related. "I was.. uh... waiting for you, Texxy. You're my twin, I... uh.. S-" But she had already gone out of the door, and slammed it shut by then, and he presumed she had broke into a run by now and was nearing the park already.
Getting up himself, and picking up a jacket incase he or his sister got cold, Jack left the house, and was enveloped in sudden warmth, and he giggled. Such a girlish giggle, too. Jack's giggle. Taking a nice walk in the direction of the park, Jack started whistling to himself --the same tune Texas had hummed-- and continued until he ended walking up behind Texxy.
"Well, all of that has been pointless fighting for thousands of years, if we both are correct. Much of the magic community will have a hard time living with this idea but I hope that it get's better through the years." Andre took the pen and notebook took a look at the address before putting it in his pocket. This conversation had gone great! He couldn't believe how interesting it had become because for a conversation this interesting he had to talk to very advanced wizards.
Shannon nodded. "You do know, that when your work gets published, they'll all think of you as insane, right?" she said. Because she had proposed this idea to many wizards and they had all laughed at her. 'What does a little girl like you know, making up stories?' they had told her. But she was going to prove them wrong, she was going to show them, one day, that she was right. Even the smartest of them had scoffed and waved her away. It was completely ridiculous.
"Of course they are going to call me insane but what do I care. The truth is all that matters, isn't it? I was wondering if you could write the study you've done and we could print it together. Even though some ideas clash it would be interesting to publish the work of two seventh years at Hogwarts and I believe it would be a good solid piece of evidence to the magical world about the true origins of magic." Andre rose an eyebrow, waiting for her answer. He would have to call his publisher but the change could be done fast enough.
Shannon thought it over. On one hand... it would be nice to get published now and would look great on future resumes... but on the other... it gave her less time to study and all. "I think that would be nice, what deadlines do you have to meet? I'll get it in as soon as I can," she said as she took out her phone and started to tap away at the screen. Without it, she would not know what she was doing and when all her deadlines were. "It's alright if they call you insane you know... many of the most brilliant people were said to be completely insane..." she said as she glanced up from her phone.
Andre thought about the deadline. "The final deadline for everything was going to be in a month but I could have a talk with my publisher to allow us some more time, anything from two to six months, if you need it." Andre glanced at Shannon's phone. He would have one but he knows all his usual calls phone numbers and he has his schedule memorized for the whole year but still has a written copy with him. "Insane is sometimes just another word for misunderstood."
Shannon nodded. "A month is fine, should I send you my part in say... two weeks?" she offered as she tapped the date onto her phone. Let's see... if she cleared off her lessons and held them off for a while... then she could get her work done pretty quickly. "Insane is just sometimes another word for misunderstood, but in my dictionary, the insane are the brilliant," Shannon shrugged she then went back to her phone. Hmm... family vacation in a week though... Shannon supposed she'd have to skip that.
"Well, perfect! I'll tell my editor about you and your work and once you get me your work I'll read it over and add it with my study. I suspect my editor will not be very happy but he might be pleased to know I'm not the only person with these thoughts. Two weeks, then?" Andre memorized the date and the event of Shannon giving him her part of the paper. "Well, those in asylums aren't very brilliant but I suspect they are more psychologically insane when we are more culturally insane."
Shannon shrugged. One of the reasons she even studied psychology was because she hoped that one day she could help those people. They were misunderstood beings. "Of course, it might come earlier though," she said. Because well, she liked to be early. She finished up the final details on her phone and slid it back into the pockets of her jeans.
"Whenever is fine." Andre smiled at Shannon and looked at his notebook for a second. "Everything is set up, I'll just call my editor when I get home and get you that copy of my part. Well.." He suddenly didn't have anything to say. He looked over at Shannon, hoping she would save the conversation.
Shannon nodded and realized this conversation had pretty much died. She cleared her throat awkwardly and shifted her weight to one foot. "So... I haven't seen you around school much," she said. Because she really didn't see much of anyone. She was too busy reading and trying to get to the library.
"Well, we both must be on pretty hard schedules. I do remember seeing you several times in the library." Andre thought about what to say and it came to him. Ask her a question she might never get. "Um, do you like riddles? I do and I've been pondering the one by Lewis Carroll: 'How is a raven like a writing desk?' I find it a very good riddle." Of course he knew the answer but it was a true test of her intelligence. He believed that she was brilliant but this was a very good way to evaluate how much.
"Yeah... perhaps..." she mused. She thought about the riddle. Hmm... a tricky one. "Isn't that from Alice in Wonderland?" she asked with a smile. She had truly loved that book when she was younger. One of her favorites. "Well, the two are similar because the two produce few notes, and the notes are quite dull... in addition to that, the two have quills... and there are numerous answers, it all depends on how you interpret it of course," Shannon said with a smile. On of the most famed answers for it was that Poe had written on both.
"And the true answer was that Lewis Carrol didn't want it to have in answer. There are many guesses, but a true answer will never be known. I believe it was in Alice in Wonderland, I don't remember. Your answers are quite interesting." Andre thought about the old copy of that book he had in his basement. "Do you have a question or riddle to try to boggle my mind? I wish to hear it."
Shannon nodded. "Well... I'm not very good at giving riddles, I'm afraid, I just like answering them," she admitted. Riddles, riddles. All she was good at was answering them then forgetting it. All her riddles were just lame to the point she didn't even understand what she just said. Shannon checked the time on her watch. Why wasn't Reece here yet? She glanced around. He was probably on his way, he always made her wait anyways.
Andre heard James voice somewhere and came back from his thought. He got up from the ground and looked at the tree he hit and noticed it was a bit blurry. Where were his glasses? When he found them he walked over to James and Leigh. He sighed a bit. "Hello, James. How are you today?" He smiled a bit. It was good that at least James seemed to like him.
"I'm alright I guess Andre," James said with a shrug. No need to go into why he wasn't one hundred-percent fine. Even Leigh didn't know that. "Dad's being annoying, but otherwise I'm fine." Of course they knew who his dad was, but not that Jame's dislike him, let alone why he did so. Watching the beginning of the exchange between Shannon and Andre, he smiled. So at least the two of them seemed to be getting on really well. But where was Reece?
Smiling as Jesse and Izzy joined them, James looked around to see that Reece still wasn't here, and neither was Jack or Texas. Where were they, he wondered, but didn't ponder on it for too long. They'd be here soon enough.

Really, she shouldn't be upset with him for having a girlfriend. She should just be his best best friend, and be happy with it. And really, being a best friend wasn't so bad, if you still got those hugs... "I always want one." she mumbled back, letting go as he pulled away.
Feeling like she was getting back to being her normal, bubbly self, Leigh turned her attention to everyone else who'd joined the group during her small moment of moodiness. She saw Boone, Andre, Shannon, Jesse, Izzy... she gave them all a big smile and a cheerful wave before glancing back at James. Maybe...maybe she could get him alone for a second. She felt like she really needed to talk to him, just best friend to best friend.
"You best had tell me!" Brooke whispered back with a laugh. And Leigh would, although not now, because Brooke had a feeling she wouldn't want everyone to know, and that it might be about a certain someone in the immediate area.
Something was up with Leigh, James was sure, but he wasn't going to pry. "Okay, anytime," he laughed when she said she always wanted a hug. And really, she could always have one. They'd been best friends ever since he could remember, but for the past few weeks Leigh'd been acting funny. Maybe she was just being a girl, he decided.

He managed a short laugh at Brooke's concern. "I fell out of my bedroom window." he repeated, biting his lower lip. "It's an interesting story, really." K, that was a lie. But oh well. He'd tell it anyway. "See, I'm grounded. And I saw y'all over here, and I wanted to come over. BUT. I couldn't go out the front door, because then I'd have to walk past my parents." He paused for dramatic effect. "So, I had the brilliant idea to climb out my bedroom window. And I, well, fell. In a bush." So that was the heroic ending to his wonderful tale. He was such a stud.
Watching Tallan shake his head, Brooke laughed again and hung hers in mock shame to match his expression. "You should!" she laughed, head flicking up at the mention of him trying it. "It's fun, honest." Her eyes where bright again, and she dropped her hands from his shoulders now she could steady herself - almost.
"Yeah, but how?" she urged Tallan on impatiently. She knew that part, but she wanted to know if there was a good reason for it or not. Knowing Tallan, it'd be funny and interesting. If a little stupid. Rolling her eyes as he told him the story, she couldn't stop a giggle escaping her. "You're so stupid, ya'know that?" she muttered up at him. "But how'd you get grounded this time?" He was so silly sometimes, but funny as well. And she was glad he hadn't just sat up in his room all day; then he'd be bored, and she couldn't influence him to Twist on the swings. Hehe.

Yup. That's right, any time. Best friend was like, one notch below girlfriend, right? In Leigh's mind, that's how she saw it. But enough dwelling on this. She needed a distraction. But what...? Aha! Newcomers.
She shook her head slowly at Texas' attitude. That was exactly why Leigh didn't get along great with other girls. Because some of them had Texas' spoiled attitude. "No one's keeping you here." she muttered, looking past Texas to her brother. Jack was much easier to get along with. He wasn't so... Texas.
"Hey JackJack!" she said happily, standing up on her tip-toes to look at him over his sister's shoulder. He looked a bit dejected, so she hurried over and gave him a big hug. "You okay?" She thought that he probably was... but ya know, ya never know.
Tal glanced over at the swings, eyeing them. He hadn't even been on a swing the normal way since last summer. "Well, let's do it, then." he comfirmed, nodding and laughing quietly.
He had to hold back more laughter when she called him stupid. He was; he'd admit it. It was sad but true. "I'm offended by that." he told her, raising an eyebrow. "And how do I always get grounded?" It was usually the same problem. "I got annoyed with my parents, 'back-talked,' and got grounded. Honestly, I wish I could do something exciting in order to be grounded." Getting in trouble for 'back-talking' was such a childish thing.
Yay more people!! Tal flashed a smirk at Texas when she walked up. He was always amused by her. "Heyyy Tex!" He continued to smirk when she started being all 'if you aren't gonna do anything, I'm leaving.' He looked over at Brooke, thinking she'd tell her what was going on, and scoffed when she put it to Tallan.
"Well. We, I mean, we," he motioned to himself and Brooke, "Are going to go twist on the swings, at some point in time. You're welcome to join us, if you'd like to."
"Doesn't have to be a riddle, it can be anything." Andre was a bit worried when she looked at her watch. Reece wasn't here yet. He knew he was boring her. "Yeah, um... "Yeah, I've read the whole thing," Shannon nodded. "Most of them back then however, didn't really need to cast them verbally," Shannon pointed out. Which kinda said that the wizards and witches now were not as smart or as skilled. They may know more spells and charms, but what was the use if they couldn't cast it as well as they did back then? She glanced at her watch again. Reece was so late.

Texas was not one to wait to be greeted, and she was so glad Brooke knew that and hugged her before she had time to complain about anything else. "Brookieeeee!" The blonde laughed herself, and pulled her arms around her friend. Oh wasn't it lovely to be hugged by people, nice people, nice people who liked her.
This had SO better have been a good thing they had planned, because Texas' sun lounger and bikini had uses aswell, and she needed a tan; considering they weren't going on holiday this summer. All because of her stupid twin brother and wanting to stay home. What a loser.
"Oh... What iiiiiiiiiiiis it Tal?" Texas grinned over at him, before looking over at James and rolling her eyes. "We don't argue. We get along just dandy. Don't we Jackie?"
Jack smiled awkwardly over at Brooke and the others, and gave a little jerk of his wrist, which could be taken as a wave; or whatever. "Hey..." He mumbled, almost furious with his twin sister for being such a horrible loser, she could go home for all he cared now. Siigh.
But... there was Brooke, and she just made him smile a little bit more; when she hugged him probably a bit more, but like you know.. Jack and girls weren't good together, he went all red and blotchy, and started chewing at his lip. You couldn't help being scared of them. Awkwardly wrapping one arm around Brooke, Jack smiled a bit wider. "Hey, Brookles."
He looked up from Brooke over at James and nodded. "Uh.. Yeah.. No arguing. Sure James... I... uh.. sorry." But from there, his sister had already answered over him, and he just nodded. "Sure Tex..."

Texas gave one of her BIGGEST smiles to Leigh; like you know... one of those BIG fake 'I don't REALLY like you, but I can tolerate you' smiles. Leigh deserved that atleast, as did Texas from Leigh. But she never really got it. OBVIOUSLY Leigh was just bitter because Texas was more awesomeer than her. Poor Leigh.
Raising a hand, and wiggling her five fingers at Tallan, Texas grinned at him, again. "Heyyyy Tal!" Again, she wiggled her fingers at him, and then looked as he set to answer her first question, and Brooke's handover of the 'plan talk'. Oh. How... interesting. "Suuuuure! Swings are always good for me." Just as long as like.. you know, she didn't fall off.
Jack chewed his lip a bit more as he let go of Brooke to allow Leigh to hug him, see Leigh was a girl he COULD get along with, because you know.. She seemed to have this thing against Texxy, and he admired people like that. He admired everyone really, all for different reasons. "Hey Leigh! You okay?" He asked quickly, hugging her back, watching his twin talking to Tallan and Brooke. She was so.... able to talk to people. And he wasn't, how ruddy fun. NOT.

Leigh couldn't help but return one of her own fake smiles to Texas. And, that was all she was gonna get - that was probably all she cared about getting, too. Sigh. Was Leigh acting to Texas how she had been acting to James earlier? ...Oh no. That was it - she was done with being *ahem* bitter. No reason for that. She'd be friiiiendly.
She kinda chuckled when Jack asked her the same question she had asked him. "I will be." she answered quietly, giving Jack a look that said she was trying to be happy.
In reply to Tex wiggling fingers at him, Tal waggled his eyebrows. Hey, what was wrong with a little flirting? Tal was such a flirt - it was like his trademark. It was WHO HE WAS.
"Shall we invite the other?" he questioned, looking at the rest of their group. They all seemed to be in their own little conversations.

Jack smiled lightly, and rubbed Leigh's back a bit and nodded. "Of course you will be, Texas your best friend's out to play!" He whispered with a giggle into her ear, and then looked over at his twin, only to chew at his lip again as she shot him a glare.
"Best not be talking about me, Jackie. The dog's already had Sally-Anne's Gucci bag, you don't want him to have your notebooks do you?" Obviously not, he adored those scraps of paper. If it was up to Texas, it would ALL be in the bin, but shredded first, then soaked, and used as pooper scoopers. Yep.
Looking back at Tallan, Texas laughed, "Your caterpillars are having a bit of a party on your eyes, Tal. Not very attractive, ay?" Aww, he was such a flirt. PFFT.

"Invite the others? ER.. I dunno..."
"You have no idea how long I've waited for Texas to come out and play." Leigh joked back, her voice just loud enough for Texas to hear it. She had a strange urge to stick her tongue out at the girl when she started being rude to Jack. He didn't deserve that. Just 'cause he was cute and didn't stick up for himself...
"Maybe you should give the dog your shoes, too." she suggested lightly, speaking before she thought about it.
It was a great show of Tallan's a bit over-inflated self esteem that he did not blush when Tex said he wasn't attractive. "Actually, very attractive." he corrected, smirking. Ha.
He glanced back at the others, then returned his attention to Brooke and Tex. "Right. Um, just us then?" That was just fine with him.
"It is very interesting how they could do it with their minds, which further helps with my theory, I believe." Andre watched Shannon as she looked at her watch once again. "I'm boring you, I'm sorry." Andre usually said what he felt, which sometimes was good and sometimes was bad.

Texas shot a glare over at Leigh and laughed -fake, yet again- "Oh, aren't you hilarious, Leigh? Bloody hilarious." She was SO lucky, Texas was in a tolerating mood, and that Jack was by her. SO lucky. Maaaan, when would she get it through her BRAIN, that Texas thought she should go play in traffic?
Her eyes rolled, as she turned her head back to look at Tallan and Brooke and she laughed, properly this time. "Attractive? No, Tallan. That's me, darling. Unfortunately for you. But atleast you have nice hair, yeah?" Aww, wasn't his hair cute?
"Just us then..."
... O_O
"I... uh... gosh... uh... sorry Tex.. I uh... Don't tell mum, please?... I uh... sorry.. sorry... Tex.. didn't... didn't mean it." Wasn't he a doof? Now Texas was gonna hate him, and he was now officially the worst twin ever put on earth. Maaan. Tex probably wanted him to go and play in traffic.
And he would do. Because she was his twin, and he loved her.
