Hai, I’m Lawraa, and this is an RP I came up with whilst listening to ‘You and Me’ by the Plain White T's.
You and me, we like the same kind of music,
That's why we, make a good you and me.
We got style, baby we know how to use it,
That's why we, make a good you and me.
You know what I'm going to say,
before my mouth even makes a sound,
And that's why we make a good you and me.
You and me, we couldn't stand being normal,
That's why we, make a good you and me.
We both laugh, at the most random situations,
That's the key, baby don't you agree? 'You and Me' - Plain White T's
It’s the summertime after their sixth year, and a group of friends who happen to live nearby each other are looking forward to spending everyday out in the sunshine, waiting until they can return to Hogwarts. They’re a bit of a mixed group, but they like it that way, and everyone knows that they are going to stay friends forever.
At least, that’s what they all think.
Although the groups a rather big one, there is only two couples amongst it, which surprises outsiders. It’s not that some of the other students don’t like each other, it’s that they aren’t brave enough to say, or scared it’ll ruin their friendship.
Everyone has that best friend of the other gender, but although James' been with Annie for two years now, it’s obvious to everyone that Leigh has fallen head over heels in love with him. Obvious to everyone except James, who’s still only see’s her in a friend way, although they’ve been inseparable since first year.
Shannon has been with Reece for a while too, but not for nearly as long as James and Annie. They seem close, but no one thinks it’s going to last; they’re complete opposites, Shannon, for want of a better word, is rather ‘Nerdy’ and Reece is an average ‘Jock’. He’s gorgeous, and he knows it. With the rest of the girls after him, will Shannon be able to hold on ‘till the end of Summer?
That’s it really. A long summer, all about each friend finding ‘the One’. Will the two already cemented relationships stick it out, or will James fall for Leigh, and Reece dump Shannon? Will the rest of the group find love, or will they go back to Hogwarts as alone as they where when they left it? With the friends still be as close, or will they all fall out? It’s all up to us as RPer’s!

My Bio's;
SPOILER!!: Brooke
Brooke Edwardson
Nickname/s: Brookie, Brookes, Ed, etc. Age: 17 Birthday: 3rd July Year: Going into 7th Heratige: Pureblood House: Slytherin Best Subject: Potions Worst Subject: Ancient Runes
Family and Background: Father: Blaise Edwardson Mother: Charlotte Edwardson Siblings: Jennifer Edwardson (12), Avery Bane (21)
Brookes parents were both of magical heritage, although her dad was a half-blood. Her parents deny this, and encourage Brooke to only make friends of pureblood Heritage. However, Brooke doesn’t understand the prejudice, and is somewhat ‘on-the-edge‘. Should she make friends with people despite teir background, or follow traditions because that’s how she grew up? In her first year, she decided to go with the former, and has made some great friends due to it. Although her parents are a little disappointed, they realise she is a very head strong girl who will do what she wants and have grown to love her despite this fact.
Personality: Brooke is extremely headstrong; when she wants to do something, she’ll go for it and nothing or no one can stop her. When she starts something, it must be finished, and she is dedicated and hardworking. True to a Snake, at times she can become devilish, and her ambition is beyond that of many people her age. But, overall, she is kind and sensitive, and a great friend to anyone. Brooke likes shopping, make-up and boys, the same as any other teenage girl, and enjoys spending time with her friends.
SPOILER!!: James
James Oliver Cross
Nickname/s: Jay, Jamie, etc. Age: 17 Year: 7th Heratige: Half Blood House: Gryffindor Best Subject: Flying Worst Subject: Herbology
Family and Background: Father: Paul Cross Mother: Jacqueline Cross [deceased] Siblings: None
Paul Cross is a professional Quidditch player; champion Chaser for none other than the England Team, whom he has seen through some of it’s finest matches. People would believe that that is who James gets his talent from. It is true that he’s a talented flier, but his history with his dad would have him deny that fact, and he claims to hate the sport. The history between James and Paul is due to the fact that James thinks that his father killed his mother whilst he was only young. James and his mother had been close, and although her death had been an accident at the hands of her husband, he resents his father for it, and is always the first to clam up when it comes to talking about families and homes.
Personality: Being a Gryffindor, James is bold and brave by trait, but he gets into trouble easily. He is good at most subjects except Herbology, and exels in Flying. His love of playing the clown can get him into sticky situations, however he doesn't care and believes that rules are made to be broken, which he seeks to do on every possible occasion. Despite his love of clowning, James can change mood’s in an instand, without warning. He tends to opt for ‘surly’ and ‘moody’ and often it’s because he is deep in thought, but it is mainly because of the way he has grown up. However, he loves being around his friends, they bring out the best in him, make him forget about home, and generally cheer him up. He resents the fact that he is a very talented flier, and claims that he hates Quidditch, when, in truth he loves the game. Also, he loves girls, and being around them, but his mysterious and moody manor can either turn them away or atract them. Any girl he has ever been with has gotten annoyed by his mood changes, and their relationships have been short term. However, he is really happy at his current relationship status, and is blissfully unaware of Leigh‘s love of him.

"Yes! The whole girl falling in love with this bad boy vampire is quite funny. Bella wouldn't last more than a few minutes with an uncontrolled vampire. More the whole love at first sight thing is..." Andre couldn't believe he didn't know the word he wanted to say. He thought harder. "Ridiculous."
Shannon nodded again. "Exactly! And vampires do drink blood, they do not decide to go 'vegetarian' out of no where, and none of them have those ridiculous powers!" she exclaimed. No body fell in love at first sight anymore. Vampires did not have powers like looking into the future. And vampires really couldn't go out in the dark. So whatever she was thinking while writing the book was absolutely wrong.
"You're right. Some of those powers are so dumb! Sparkling vampires! Really! Oh, and the whole 'Don't worry, we just eat deer but I do feel like having a quick bite... of you.' vibe that she puts into Edward is very weird. I'd like to see Ms. Meyer spend some time with real vampires and learn that they all don't sparkle and are not very good looking, or as good looking as Edward seems to be." Andre smiled, genuinely. "Do you read a lot of Muggle fiction?"
Shannon giggled at what he said. Every single bit of it was true. "She stretches it waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much," she said. Because everyone knew that vampires were blood thirsty and served no one but their clans and themselves. Most of them were actually quite selfish and they were almost exiled from the wizarding world because of how dangerous they were. Yes, the Vampire and Werewolf war had occurred, but not the way Miss Meyer depicted it. "Yes, I actually do read quite a bit of muggle fiction books, they interest me greatly," she admitted.
"I myself do also enjoy reading muggle fiction. It is quite interesting how they depicted magic and wizards and witches. They are usually very silly." Andre smiled. "Have you ever read the Discworld series. Very entertaining." He loved taking about books but something was different. She seemed to be as equally interested in this conversation. Most other people would have stopped listening to him a few minutes ago.
Shannon shook her head and frowned slightly. "I'm afraid I haven't, but is it any good? No spoilers of course," she said. Because she hated spoilers. It killed the experience of reading it and guessing what happened next. Books, books, what would she do without them? "Have you read the Lightning Thief series though?" she asked.
"I have read some of the Lightning Thief series. I had to finish reading the History of Potion Making Volume 24 so I only got to the second one. I find the demigod idea very interesting yet a bit odd. How about you?" Andre suddenly noticed today was a sunny day at the park. "Oh, the Discworld series. It's quite long but it took me only a day to read them all. It is a satire of magic worlds and series. The first one The Colour of Magic is good and enjoyable for a laugh. Oh, if only muggle authors knew what they were writing about!"
"I find the idea of demigods quite interesting as well, some of the information is actually accurate," Shannon said. At least they got some history right... for once. "It's good though, quite original," Shannon added. "I'll definitely remember to pick up the book sometime," Shannon said with a smile. History of Potion Making Volume 24? "Volume 24? I've finished it already!" Shannon exclaimed. And she thought she was the only one who read it as well.
"Yes, the story is entertaining I thought." Then he heard about her having read volume 24 before. Andre was a bit shocked. "Oh, I read those about two years ago. My favorite was Volume 16. I liked the story about the contribution ancient werewolves had on potion making. I have that one memorized by heart! I thought the only other person that has read those in England was the potion professor."
Shannon laughed. "I've read almost every book in the Hogwarts library," she admitted. Just a hundred or so left to go. "Oh yes, volume 16 was quite interesting, however I think my favorite was volume 7, the one on how the bloods of different creatures affected different potions," Shannon smiled. She wasn't going to say she had all the volumes memorized by heart.
"You've read all of them too! Wow, that's quite amazing." Andre was having a weird feeling. His thoughts went to the true loves that all the books he had read had talked about. He shook his head to get this thought out of his mind. "Volume 7 was good, yet I believe the authors made a few mistakes on the effect unicorn blood had on some potions. I have tested them myself and mandrakes root and unicorn blood does not help make your Felix Felices quicker."
So she wasn't the only one who tried that one out? "Well, it didn't work, however, I have tried using the blood of a dragon with the mandrake root and it did make the process speed up. You also need to make sure when using unicorn blood that your cauldron is simmering only and not too hot because it can kill the magical properties of unicorn blood otherwise," Shannon offered. There were various errors in each of the books, however they were going to make a second edition of them all, so Shannon could wait.
"Well, of course the cauldron shouldn't be too hot. They explain that in Advanced Advanced Potions. Did you take that class? I took it when I was a second year. I've always been a bit advanced when it comes to school, but mostly potions." Andre thought about the dragon blood and mandrake root. He would try that when he got home. He already had about five small vials of Felix Felices but he wanted to see if the next one was faster.

"Took that in the middle of first year," Shannon said with a twinkle in her eyes. Despite being a halfblood, she had always been advanced in her studies. Her mother was a pureblood and a Ravenclaw as well who had made sure Shannon had a good magical education while her father was a muggle doctor and taught Shannon everything she needed to know about the human system. "I'm probably more advanced in Charms and DADA, History of Magic as well... I was actually taking NEWT level classes for those in my second year..." Shannon admitted. Someone who worked as hard as she did? That was surprising.
"I also took the NEWTs my second year. You must be in independent studies now, huh? I took all the classes Hogwarts offered to me by the middle of my third year." Andre was surprised. This girl who he knew little about was evenly (if not smarter) than him. Incredible. How could a guy like Reece date a girl like this? "History of Magic is very interesting but my best points are Magical Creatures, Potions, and higher lever DADA. I was never quite good at the easy stuff, but very impressing in the more advanced stuff."
Shannon nodded. "I have private tutors now, I was actually lucky today because I somehow didn't have any lessons booked today," she admitted. And what a lovely day it was. "Magical Creatures are fascinating, spending time with the creatures actually help me with my potions, it helps me figure out certain recipes..." Shannon said. There she was, thinking it was near impossible to have an intelligent conversation with anyone but she was talking to someone just as smart. "So, are you aiming for the Head Boy title? I'm trying to be Head Girl," Shannon smiled. And valedictorian of course.
"I do have some tutors but I mostly do independent studies which I seem to learn more than with a tutor. I usually clear up my schedule for the summer at least an hour a day to just calm down. I have seen you in Ravenclaw common room, so we are of the same house. I am aiming for Head Boy, yet my true goal is to be valedictorian. It seems as I have finally met my opponent face to face. It's nice to meet you." Andre smiled and extended his arm to shake her hand. "Well, I mostly enjoy the actual creatures when it comes to Magical Creatures. It is very interesting the written material there is about them from theories of evolution to why they are magical."
Shannon took his outstreched hand and shook. "My rival... I assure you, I will not go easy on you," she said. Heh. That valedictorian spot was hers. "That's true, have you studied non-magical creatures though? Because some of them may have the same DNA as the magical creatures, I'm still researching on that," Shannon said. She had several pens and cages in the basement with creatures. Shannon wasn't hurting them, she was just taking DNA samples like their saliva. "I have figured out that some magical creatures may actually be the descendants of non-magical creatures... I think that at a point, we were all muggles, just that there was something in the environment that allowed some of them to have a change in their DNA coding and as a result, they were born with magic," Shannon said. She never really got to talk about this with anyone. "If this theory is true, then there are no such thing as purebloods and halfbloods." Shannon explained. Then the Great Wars had been fought for nothing.
"Oh, and don't think that the valedictorian spot is yours. I have my ways. But, rivalry aside, I have done some minor studies on non-magical creatures. You, my friend, have looked at this magical evolution through the eye of science and potions but I have studied it with a mix of science and philosophy. It all starts with the complex question of why these animals are here. Then it goes to what would be a reason for an evolution stage as high as developing wings, horns, or other appendages. As for the whole muggle to wizard idea I have found that this change could be done by using more of your brain. A magical person, if compared to muggles, use more of their brain than muggles. This could have been due to some of them wishing to develop greater mentally or their need to make an evolution jump keep them safe from the magical creatures. If my studies are right, magical creatures came before magical humans. If you wish I have a copy of my soon to be printed study about this. Shannon, remember, you aren't the first person to think about these things." Andre gave her a big smile. "Philosophy is my strongest point, even though not taught at Hogwarts."
Shannon was quite impressed. "Well, if you don't mind, I think I'd like to read it over," she said. However, she was still going to be valedictorian. "I'm not really into physiology, though I have taken a few muggle college level courses for it," Shanon admitted. She found it to be quite boring, honestly. "I find psychology much more interesting," she said. She then found a flaw in his statement. "Actually... if you think about it, it is actually quite impossible to just will yourself to be like that. If you refer to Lamarck's theory of use and disuse, which was proven false, it seems to be much like your idea," Shannon pointed out. Yes. She was now referring to muggle scientists, and there was absolutely nothing wrong with that.
"I will send you a copy by owl, but it's quite heavy so it will take a while to get it to you." He cringed when she said physiology. "I study philosophy. Psychology is very interesting and I do like it myself but philosophy, I feel, goes more in depth." He thought about what she had just said. "I do know of the theory you speak of but magical creatures, including magicians and witches are out of this boundary. They work with separate rules to that that rule the muggle world and science. I talk about that in my paper for around fifty pages. I do have actual expierements that show this difference of the use and disuse theory in magical creatures in a different paper. I will send that also." Andre looked at this girl in her eyes. He had never been able to do that before, even with his own mother. He smiled.
She arched a brow. "Sounds quite interesting... however... do you have a muggle mailing address instead? An owl would look weird since I live in a muggle neighborhood," Shannon explained. "Magicians and witches, along with other magical creatures may seem to be excluded, but everything is linked somehow. If we were to trace the lineage back for a normal pureblood, the said pureblood would share a common ancestory with a muggle. The homosapiens, the **** erectus... and so forth. We do branch of muggles, so why were the Great Wars fought? They were a bit pointless, if you look at it now. If we're all related to muggles somehow, then what's the point of fighting for this lost cause?" Shannon added. She wanted to know about his opinion on the wars. The reason behind the war was quite flawed.
"I do have a muggle address. You will have to give me yours so I can send it to you." Andre pulled out a pen and notebook out of his jacket pocket and handed it to her to write her address. "Well, the Great Wars were fought on a misconception of authority made by wizards who believed they were greater in magic than the rest when in reality they were and are equal. The wars were completely pointless and the point of fighting was because of a misunderstood fact. It is almost the same as what happened in Rwanda in 1994, you should look it up if you don't already know." Andre thought about the massive amount of information they both held together. Wow. Incredible.
Shannon took the pen and the notebook and scribbled out her address on it in her neat cursive. "I know of that, genocide... much like the holocaust as well..." Shannon murmured. And she had expected today to be completely hopeless. To just stay away from the crowd. Instead she was having a delightful conversation, an intelligent conversation instead of talking to Reece. It was the same as talking to a pole... or in simpler terms, hopeless.
<<OoC: alrights. it was nice RP-ing with yu as well. byebye~ :]>>
"You sure?" Brooke aske Leigh skeptically, but let the matter drop. Her friends gaze had cleared up in the mere five seconds, and alhtough she could tell that something was still up, it was obvious her friend didn't want to talk about it, and who was Brooke to press her? If Leigh wanted to tell her someting, she would, in her own due time.
Laughing, Broke put her hands on Tallan's shoulders, and although he had been 'pretending' to keep her steady, she was actually using him as a balance, to stop her from falling over onto her face. She needed to stop spinning, like, really needed too. "Nooo," she said, rolling her eyes away from Tallan's gaze. There was no need for him to know that she'd been that stupid, although he could probably guess. "And so what if I have? It's fun!" Brooke looked back at him with a giggle.
"You fell out of your bedroom window?!" she yelped. How on earth had he managed that? It was scary, and that bus was mean. Yup, she decided then what it was; mean and silly. And something Brooke didn't like. "How did you manage to fall out of a window?"
"I've been good Boone," James grinned at his friend, although the fact that Leigh had avoided his gaze was nagging at him. Stupid girly-ness; they were supposed to be best friends, right?
Looking back as Leigh now searched out his gaze, James gave up trying to figure out what was wrong with her. He's ask her later, when they found a moment alone, and she'd tell him then. After all, they were best friends, which she happened to point out. "Hi Leigh," he managed, before sliding his hand out of his girlfriends.
"'Course you get a hug," he muttered into her ear as he engulfed her with his arms. "Somethin' just told me you didn't want one, that's all."
Breaking away from Leigh, James spotted Andre over her shoulder. "Oi, Andre mate. Gerrup!" he said, as he watched his friend just sit there on the grass, evidently in thought. Beckoning him over, he knew that the boy didn't feel he was truly part of their 'group' yet. but james wanted him to know that he felt he was. That was when he spotted Shannon; Reece's girlfriend. He didn't really know her that well, but beckoned her over all the same. Reece should be here any minute.
"I'll tell you later, k?" Leigh whispered to Brooke, grimacing slightly. She felt bad that she couldn't tell her friend what was wrong. But she just couldn't, not with... certain people within earshot.
She couldn't help but breathe a silent sigh of relief when James hugged her. She hugged him back, feeling slightly guilty at what he said. Really, she shouldn't be upset with him for having a girlfriend. She should just be his best best friend, and be happy with it. And really, being a best friend wasn't so bad, if you still got those hugs... "I always want one." she mumbled back, letting go as he pulled away.
Feeling like she was getting back to being her normal, bubbly self, Leigh turned her attention to everyone else who'd joined the group during her small moment of moodiness. She saw Boone, Andre, Shannon, Jesse, Izzy... she gave them all a big smile and a cheerful wave before glancing back at James. Maybe...maybe she could get him alone for a second. She felt like she really needed to talk to him, just best friend to best friend.
"You okay there?" Tallan laughed, tightening his grip a bit, and actually helping to keep Brooke standing. He shook his head in mock shame as she practically admitted to what she'd been doing. "Well, if it's so fun, then I'll just have to try it some time! See for myself." That's right; Mr. Cool could have fun. He was actually really good at it. He loved fun.
He managed a short laugh at Brooke's concern. "I fell out of my bedroom window." he repeated, biting his lower lip. "It's an interesting story, really." K, that was a lie. But oh well. He'd tell it anyway. "See, I'm grounded. And I saw y'all over here, and I wanted to come over. BUT. I couldn't go out the front door, because then I'd have to walk past my parents." He paused for dramatic effect. "So, I had the brilliant idea to climb out my bedroom window. And I, well, fell. In a bush." So that was the heroic ending to his wonderful tale. He was such a stud.
