The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches…born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies…and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will power the Dark Lord knows not…and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives…the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies…
As soon as he heard this prophecy, one of Voldemort's followers reported to his master. Voldemort went over to the Potters' house, killing James and Lily and trying to kill Harry. But there was no way of knowing if the prophecy applied to Harry or Neville Longbottom.
What if Voldemort went after Neville instead of Harry? What if Harry had been a normal child, growing up with his parents in a wizarding community? What if Neville had been the one that was orphaned, and was raised by his grandmother as a famous wizard? How would Harry and Neville be different? How would the events that happened during Harry's first year at Hogwarts change? This is all up to you.

Kat heard Neville's comment on the "creepy" professor as Hermione just said and nodded to him as a sign that she was thinking the same thing, "He surely teaches a horrible subject" she said, and looked away to the guy who brought them from their boats.
"I bet he's a fun professor, he looks like it" she continued, about the huge guy who sat in the table at front.

Liam shrugged. "It'll be fun to have a class that's easy, though," he said. He was not as confident as harry in terms of flying. Harry had inherited the natural ability to fly well; Liam, though, apparently lacked that talent. Liam overheard the others' conversation about the giant man. He smirked, for he knew who the man who had brought them in was. He was pretty sure Harry did, too, but no one else did. Liam liked knowing something very few other people knew.
Draco glared at the Gryffindors at the Gryffindor table. He recognized some of them from descriptions his parents had given him of people to stay away from; they all looked very weak to him. | |

"Yeah, I guess you're right." Harry agreed. He listened to the others' conversation about the man. He was pretty sure that was Hagrid, because he'd seen pictures of him with his parents. He looked at Liam, and was pretty sure that they were thinking the same things. This would be a good school year.
"Oooh, yeah, he seemed nice enough. It should be good to have a class with him." Tea agreed. She couldn't wait to start classes; she just wished they could start right now. Although she was starting to feel a bit sleepy now that she thought about it. | |

Neville yawned. The feast was almost over, and he was starting to get tired. Just as he was wondering when they would be led up to their rooms, the Gryffindor prefect came over and took everyone to the dormitory.
As he walked, Neville dragged his feet on the ground, not really paying attention to where he was going. He was so tired . . .

Kat was amazed, she was looking around as they were led to the Common Room, she looked at her friends and most of them were a little tired, however, she was not.
They arrived at, what it seemed to be, a painting with a lady who greet them with a question, "Password?", and Kat heard the prefect said something she didn't understand.
Once inside, the prefect showed them were their dormitories where, so she followed Hermione and then, to her surprise, all her stuff were next to a bed she assumed was now hers, "Oh, this looks so comfortable!" she said, sitting in the bed, "No, it IS comfortable" and then she got up, grabbed come of her things and went to change. She fell asleep as soon as her head touched the pillow.

Neville woke early the next morning and wandered down the stairs into the common room. He chose a comfy chair by the fire where he could watch the stairs for when his friends woke up. Sitting down in the chair, Neville sank into the softness of the chair. Soon, his eyes drifted shut and he fell asleep in the chair.

Kat heard a familiar voice, It was Hermione, and it seemed to be morning already, she got up and changed into her school robes, she was so excited.
After what seemed like 20 minutes, she was all set, "Yep, I'm ready" she said to Hermione, and walked down the stairs, only to find Neville sitting in one of the chairs, "Hey Neville! Great morning, huh?" she said.
