After her spat with Kyla she dicided to try going back to class after skipping Charms. The only class she had left was potions which was her favorite subject because it was the only one she understood. Kyla made her way down to the dungeons and through the doors for potions to the potions classroom and quietly took a seat ant one of the lab tables and took out her couldronand waited as she saw the professor take his place at the front of the classroom
Potions Master: Good afternoon class, I know this is the 3rd class of the year but we have a new stdent so we have to go over all the lab safety rules.
The whole class stared at Kyla giving her dirty looks and she just scowled at them all.

Now Miss Wilias, there is no shame in being new, now lets get started
1. Know Your Ingredients!
2. Always Clean and Inspect Your Equipment Before and After Each Use.
3. Always Cure Your Cauldron After Each Use.
4. Pay Attention to Detail and REMEMBER SAFETY PRECAUTIONS!
5. DOCUMENT EVERYTHING.
Now for the rules for on you're own potion making for those who finish the class assighnement early:
1 :SAFETY FIRST. Practice common sense and good safety practices at all times while in this lab. Remember that other potions are being brewed around you and exercise caution at all times.
WHEN IN DOUBT, AS: If you have any question in your mind about the safety or sanity of what you are planning, please bring your intended potion plan to me for assstance. I reserves the right to end any experiment at my discretion, especially if it is unsafe or irresponsible.
CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF. The house elves are not your personal slaves, and it is neither their responsibility nor mine to clean up after you. If you fail to clean up your workstation on departure, you will receive a most unpleasant detention.
HAVE A PLAN and WORK AT YOUR OWN LEVEL. Creativity is definitely encouraged in this lab, but please do not just slap ingredients together without knowing the magical theory behind what you are doing. I expect all students to work at their level and if you have questions, please ask me.
WASTE NOT, WANT NOT. Many of the ingredients in this lab are quite costly. Use them with discretion.
DANGEROUS INGREDIENTS: Many of the more dangerous or expensive ingredients in the lab are in my private stores. On approval, the I will obtain any of the necessary dangerous ingredients from the storage cabinet for your use.
However for now we shall be working on a specific potion, most of these rules are for those who finish there potion early, THis means you are allowed to be creative and create you're own potions as long as you are responsible once done with the class potion.
Kyla smirked at the idea they could make there own potions because she had a little something in mind and was sure whatever the professor had in mid she would still have enough time to make the potion.
[QUOTE]That being said, today you will be working on a Calming Draught potion, the instructions are on the board and ingredients on the front table, now got started[QUOTE]
Board:
CALMING DRAUGHT
*STAGE 1*
1 pint water
6 drops fluxweed oil
Inner membrane and fluid from 3 bloodroot stems
Add 6 drops fluxweed oil to warm water.
Split the bloodroot stems lengthwise with your knives and scrape out all fluid and fibrous material from inside the stems. Crush with mortar and pestle into a fine paste and add to the cauldron.
Stir slowly until a light steam rises from the cauldron, alternating clockwise and counterclockwise stirring.
**STAGE 2**
1 Valerian root, minced
1 drachm calendula pollen
3 skullcap leaves
1/2 drachm powdered root of asphodel (scant)
1 Hyacinth flower, whole
1 ounce slime from the belly of a sprightly frog
1 sprig of peppermint
4 drop glumbumble fluid (take care not to overuse!)
Mince the Valerian root and add it to the potion.
Add calendula pollen, stirring three times clockwise.
Shred the skullcap lengthwise, and slowly add it to the potion
Bring the temperature back up until the steam is rising again, stirring clockwise slowly. It should be a light blue-green at this stage.
Professor's note: Remember your intent-- concentrate on being calm and infusing your work with a calm, deliberate result.
Add asphodel -- you should see a bright blue flash of light in your cauldron
Add the Hyacinth flower; the potion should stop glowing
Allow the potion to steep while you collect the frog slime. For best results, do not harvest the frog slime until this time!
Add the slime and a sprig of peppermint and bring to boiling, stirring in alternating clockwise and counterclockwise stirs once again.
When the potion thickens and turns deep indigo, add the glumbumble fluid.
Continue stirring in a clockwise motion until the solid ingredients have all disintegrated and the potion is a thick, syrupy indigo fluid that smells of lavender, warm sugar and sweet mint. There should be a light purple-pink sheen in the steam that rises from the potion.
Take a sample of your potion and bottle it into a phial.
Kyla quickly gathered the ingrediants from the front table and got to work:
Kyla minced up the Valerian root and added it to her potion
Kyla then added calendula pollen, stirred it three times clockwise.
She then shreded the skullcap lengthwise, and slowly added it to the potion
She then brought the temperature back up until she saw steam is rising as she stirred clockwise slowly till it turned light blue-green. Kyla then read the professors note:
Professor's note: Remember your intent-- concentrate on being calm and infusing your work with a calm, deliberate result.
She then took a deep calming breath as she added asphodel and saw a bright blue flash of light in her cauldron and knew she was on the right track.
She then added the Hyacinth flower and her potion stopped glowing, yeah.
Kyla looked at her notes and almost gagged as she read that she had to collect frog slime. She picked up her frog and carefully scraped the icky slime off it's underbelly till she had 1 ounce and then added it to her potion and then took another deep breath to calm herself down again. She then added the sprig of peppermint as instructed and brought it all to a boil and started to alteernate stirring it clockwise and counter clockwise
She then read the instructions and continued the stirring while waiting for the potion to turn indigo which she soon sees and then adds the four drops of glumbubble fluid and continued the stirring till the mixture dicsnigrated and all that iwas left was a thick syrupy indigo fluis that smelled of lavender, warm sugar and sweet mint, yuck, She then noted the steam was indeed a liht purple-pink and she was done so she bottled her potion, labled it,and put her name and house year on it.
Now that she had finished she her potion she was gonna attempt a potion she had been doing research for over a year, the perfect love potion. One that when added to any liquid is

colorless, tasteless, smelless, and does'nt chane consistency".
Since she had already made one love potion making this one was not too dificult, it was all about using just the right ingrediants and before long she was done making the potion and one antidote. She started to think about how lonely she had been since she had given Patrick her first love potion and wanted more people to like her and thought, mabe I'll give the other boys this love potion, all those girls deserve it anyway.

Potions Master: "Okay class times up, put you're vial on my desk before you go and have a wonderful weekend", The Potions Master said opening the door for the class to leave.
Kyla gathered all her things and left the classroom knowing it would not be long till Patrick would be out of classes and themn mabe she could spend some time with him she thought as she headed up the moving staircase hoping she would run into him.
