Near the food, and with a clear view of the tables for all the party guests, is the table reserved especially for the Board of Governors to sit and bask in warm congratulations. If they're even sitting that is. This celebration IS for them, and so don't be surprised if you find them out enjoying themselves instead of sitting at this table.

Finally, a party to celebrate HER the success of Board of Governors' election. It had been a long, stressful road, but it was all very worth it. The decorations were nice, a little too flashy for her taste, but not bad.
Erik's hand in hers, Ivy walked across the large tent and over to their lovely table where people would soon flock to congratulate them. She counted five seats in from the end of the table and stood beside the chair, looking over at Erik expectantly with a sweet smile.

The place looked nice, surprisingly, for Diagon Alley. Erik's light eyes went roaming around the tent as soon as they walked in. He had to check for exits and possible blind spots from where they would be sitting, as usual.
He let Ivy pick out a spot at the Governors' table and came to a stop beside her at the sixth chair. Why six? Why not seven? He much preferred the lucky number 007. But Erik did obediently let go of her hand and pull her chair out for her, with a smirk and a half-bow, too, as though he were her servant.
"Queens aren't elected, you know," he murmured as he waited to push her in.

Ivy returned the smirk when he even bowed for her. What a gentleman he was. "Thank you, kind sir," she said as she took a seat in the chair provided, flashing a lovely smile at Erik. Her eyes briefly wandered around the room. Where was everyone?
His comment amused her. Was she acting like a queen? Erik was her... sort-of date, wasn't he? Even if he wasn't, he probably seemed like one to anyone paying attention. She was just helping him keep up his reputation. Or something.
"That may be true," she said, scooting in her chair herself, "but I do appreciate your acceptance of my royalty." Ivy smiled again, her smirk showing through. She knew that probably wasn't what he meant, but oh well. A casual twist of words never hurt anyone.

She was smiling quite a bit for an ordinary evening, Erik noticed. Then again, this was no ordinary evening. They were celebrating a victory today, one well earned by himself and by his partner in crime. He smiled a tiny bit at that thought and pulled out his own seat.
Place was still empty, wasn't it? Fine by him. He didn't like crowds.
As Erik took his seat, it was his turn to roll his eyes in the usual Ivy manner. "If you're royalty, then vhat does that make me?" He had been elected too, by Odin! It was a good thing that the Hogwarts popular vote didn't count...

She was in a fine mood this evening. They had won, so she had a reason to be. Ivy leaned back in her chair, a rather content expression on her face.
Her head turned back to look at Erik. Hmmm, what did that make him. Certainly not her king. Another smirk rose on her lips. "The queen's arm candy, of course." Heh. She was teasing of course. Or was she?

Nolan Reynolds was on cloud nine. He KNEW he'd be a great fit for the board, and all his hard work had paid off! And he'd done it almost entirely by himself, Sadine had helped a great deal in the end but he'd climbed the long mountain by himself until she came along.
Now he was super excited to get to know everyone on the board with him. He hoped there would be no hard feelings - after all, it was politics, right?
"Ivy, Erik," he said with a grin as he walked up and greeted his fellow successful candidates. "Congratulations! Excited to get started?" he asked.

Technically, Destiny wasn't on the Board of Governors, which she wasn't too upset about. She had no idea what those people were supposed to do, and after sitting through all of them speech things, well, she could only imagine what it was like being on the opposite side of one of them. Being the ones talking? Did any of those people hear themselves? They just wouldn't shut up!
Of course, she would listen each time Carter spoke, but that was only because she thought she had to, being his wife and all.
Apparently, though, there were some perks for being a member of the Board of Governors. Like, she had heard they went to super shifty secret meetings where they needed to be blindfolded so they didn't know where the meeting was taking place. And if that just wasn't the coolest thing ever, they had fancy parties and had their own fancy table to sit at. She wasn't sure if she was allowed to be sitting at the fancy table, but not knowing something never stopped her from doing something before. They should have had signs if they didn't want her there. Right? Right.
Taking a seat the very end of the table, just in case she wasn't supposed to be there she could make a quick getaway under the table, Destiny let her eyes wander around the room and simply griiiiiiined at everyone. She should have grabbed food first..

Wife. Wife. Carter looked around. Where in the world had Des run off to? He had CAKE! Chocolate cake.
...
And he should have known. She was sitting in his spot at the table. He carefully set the cake and a drink down on the table in front of her. "Hey. That's my seat." he whispered to her.
And then he picked her up. He took his rightful seat. And then placed her carefully in his lap. There. That's were she belonged. And he belonged in this seat that he'd somehow or another got elected to be in. That was pretty cool.
"Oh. And I got you cake." In case that wasn't obvious.

Ellie wasn't ON the Board of Governors. She would never. She didn't want to have to go back to the school for like...business purposes. Just for fun things. Like Quidditch matches and...Quidditch matches. So she wasn't entirely sure if she could be up at their special table. But Destiny was there. Although Destiny might have wife privileges...Ellie had...REYN privileges, right?! And who's gonna stop her? And how else was she supposed to congratulate him? What if he didn't step away from the table the entire celebration?
The redhead weaved her way around people and tables, semi-sneaking up on her...second favorite former professor...but Reyn didn't have to know his rank. She cleared a bit of the table next to where he was standing and lifted herself onto it. "Congratulations, Reyn!!!"GRIN.
Just like crashing the special people's table, Ellie didn't care if she was interrupting his conversation. Especially because it was with people she didn't know.

Charles could not be happier as he made his way to the Board of Governor celebration wearing one of his nicer brown suits. Alright, that was a lie. He could thinking of several billion things that could make him happier and they all involved his little ambassador of cuteness, but for the time being and giving the setting, yes, Charles Hollingberry could not be happier. Over the past however many months it had been, Charles had really grown to like Carter and really respected the boy and his morals. He had been very uneasy at first - the boy was a Quidditch player after all - but he had shown to be quite the class act. He was even dressing a bit more appropriately for his role.
See? No inflatable swimming devices and very professional looking. Unlike some other people he noticed.
"CARTER!" the man's voice boomed as he approached the table and wrapped the boy up in a hug right where he sat - which also meant the wife was sort of in a browich for a few moments. "Congratulations my boy! You did it!" Oh, yes, the wife. "Congratulations to you as well, MRS. Phillips," he added with a wink.
Wait, why was the wife sitting on his lap? Little bit too much, Mr. Phillips. Not appropriate for this setting and your Board of Governors image!

Nolan noticed a few more people joining the celebration, and some of them weren't even ON the board. That didn't matter to him anymore, he was ON the board and the tough part was behind them, so he could relax and enjoy the party with EVERYONE, because he wasn't fighting or battling against any of them now. Ahh, how sweet victory was!
As he waited for Erik and Ivy to address him, he heard a commotion next to him. Next thing he knew, he was staring at Ellie Stone, standing on the table next to him congratulating him. After blinking a few times to make sure he wasn't hallucinating, he grinned.
"Ellie! Thank you...erm, you should probably get down," he added, moving a chair next to her so she could step down onto it.
It had been...what, seven years almost?...since he'd seen her, and she hadn't changed a bit.

The twenty year old could hardly contain her excitement. Her smile widened considerably, if possible, at his recognition. And even more-so when he advised her to get off the table. What a killjoy, Reyn. She LOVED him. So, fine, she stepped onto the chair instead. ...Did that make the chair hers now? Either way, Ellie lowered herself to sit on it pretzel style.
"Hi! I knew you'd get picked!" Even if she didn't bother to vote. Shhh. "How are you? How's the wife? How's life?" she demanded of the man. And those were just the surface questions she wanted to ask of him. There were plenty more to come. It HAD been forever since she'd last seen him, after all.

It felt great to be here. It really did.
Atticus had never been one hundred percent certain that he would even make it this far - he had certainly hoped so, but one could never be completely assured of the guarantee. But he had made it, and he was very grateful. Grateful and excited to begin working with everyone.
As he approached the table, he offered a friendly smile and "Hello" to them all, but as it seemed all his fellow governors were in the middle of conversations, he didn't try to press further. No need to be rude, right? Yes. So he simply quietly took his seat.

He'd been expecting an answer more along the lines of another type of royalty, but arm candy...well, Erik could only laugh at that. "As you vish," he shrugged lightly with a knowing smirk to himself.
Ivy was so in denial about how kingly he was...

Ivy smirked too. Erik did make lovely arm candy though he was much more than that.
Her eyes wandered out over the large tent again, lingering on the dance floor for a moment. "We should dance. Later." Ivy moved her eyes to Erik's at her suggestion. They had danced at the Ministry debate, but things were... slightly different now, and it would probably be a little more enjoyable this time around.

Well.... he certainly wasnt expecting to walk in here like this.
If there is anything Corin unmistakably was, was that he was a realist... ok maybe more of a pessimist-- but he would always say realist. And he has given his best in running for this post whilst resisting to succumb to the underhanded way that is politics. And he knew that was probably not the best way to get elected.
So suffice it to say, everything about this has come as a pleasant surprise. And restored his faith in Wizardkind. A bit anyway.
Drawing his hand down his tie he entered the tent and looked around—blessedly with both eyes now— spotting any familiar faces. He eyed Atticus, Nolan and Carter—they were elected too, and relieved he was. People he could feasibly work with. But its not all a party, Knox and Vinteren were elected too. Something that has him concerned. Then again its not like he hasn’t worked with difficult people before. Story of his life as it were.
“Congratulations everybody.” he greeted those gathered with the warmest of smiles.
Yeah thats what crazy is, when its broken you say theres nothing to fix++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++And you pray that everything will be okay, while you're making all the same mistakes
Ivy smirked too. Erik did make lovely arm candy though he was much more than that.

Erik studied the next Governor to arrive with his flat blue gaze, as though tracking the other man's progress to their table. Vanderbilt. Corineus Vanderbilt. Why was he here? Someone clearly failed at their job. Higareda had not made the board; why had Vanderbilt? Erik was going to have words with someone later...
"Congratulations," he returned the greeting quietly and quite stiffly.
Then he turned back to Ivy. Why wait to dance and have to suffer Reynolds and Vanderbilt for one more minute? "Let's dance now, shall we?" he stood up and offered his co-Governor a hand. He was not taking no for an answer, not that Ivy would ever say no to him. Smirk.

"CHARLES!" Carter exclaimed giving his old manager a half hug. He wasn't able to do any better. He had a wife in his lap. Heh. Hopefully she wasn't smushed too much. It was a good thing he already brought her cake.
He squeezed out from under her, careful to put her back, before giving the older man a proper hug. "Thank you. Couldn't have done it without you." he said with a grin. Seriously. He appreciated having all the support and help.
"How have you been?" he asked happily. Hopefully things were going well. "Oh. And this is my wife, Destiny." Oh a WHOLE year. Pretty impressive, yeah?

The place looked, AMAZING. Who knew DA could scrub up so nicely, it was even SPACIOUS looking. "Congratulations everyone!" he greeted as he approached the governors table and claimed himself a spot. She didn't offer any congratulations to the the white haired man.
And on second thought, dancing sounded like a wonderful idea. With a small smile, Ivy took Erik's hand and stood up. "We shall." Lead the way, handsome man.

Althea Schirmer arrived on the arm of a man, but not the one which most might have expected. She would have dragged Dash along, only he was home sick, sniffles and everything. She'd left him chicken soup and owled one of the top contributors to her campaign -her true and chosen manager- to be her 'date' for the evening.
This sort of thing really was more Weddell Bott's speed than Everett Scabior's anyway. Dash had no reason to be jealous mind, but he could do with a bit of reminding sometimes, so it didn't bother Althea one bit knowing that as sick as he was he'd still be squirming over it.
Now for greetings, drinks, and maybe even dancing.

Crud. Didn't he think her voting was implied? That was why she phrased it like that, to imply that she voted. Now he had her caught in a trap. And Ellie couldn't lie. Especially to Reyn. "Sorry," she said, biting her lip, "I'm busy, y'know?" Too busy to vote. Not to mention the whole thing was awfully boring and she hadn't been following and didn't even know Reyn was in the running until she'd read that he won in the Prophet. "But you didn't need my vote." Obviously. "You were sure to win!" Positive thinking, yeah?
"Good!" she grinned, "So leaving Hogwarts was good?" A good decision? Because, you know, she really wasn't fond of it back then. "Where do you work now?" Probably somewhere close to home, unlike Hogwarts, or his wife wouldn't be happy, right? Hence why he'd left her.
'What about you?' Was Reyn really interested in her life?! That was weird. And she actually had things to tell him! She was an adult now! Doing adult things! "I'm great!" Which was an understatement. "I play Quidditch now for Portree. Starting Seeker."Beam.
"Candyman Arm Candy," Dell murmured to Althea as he stoically assessed those around them and the group of people he'd be expected to socialize with. He could be sociable, and oftentimes was. And considering this was a celebration of winners and he was by no means dating Ms. Schirmer - he was quite at ease.
He would have chosen a less wicked witch with poisonous apples attire for Ms. Schirmer for the evening, but beyond that he was perfectly happy to be at her side.
"I should do this professionally." Be arm candy. Hah. Hah. He was... so dry, but trying to be funny and a good companion.
