After Ginny finishes her final year at Hogwarts, she's stunned to learn that Harry, who's been out of school a year, is engaged. Not wanting to return to the Burrow, which will be full of wedding planning and activity, Ginny escapes to Diagon Alley for a bit of independent living. The twins kindly take Ginny in and offer her a job, and she drags Neville and Luna along as flatmates. Who knows what will happen now that they are living independently?

This is a VERY loose storyline so far, but we want to have the chance to explore these characters as rising adults. I have all of the main characters filled at this point. If you are interested, go ahead and post your character idea. To be honest, I'd prefer HP characters (but not necesarily HRH) rather than made-ups... although a quality made-up is always welcome. If I don't feel your character will add to the story, I probably won't say yes. Also, we're quite serious about RPing, so if you aren't on at night EST, CST, or you will only post very sporadically, don't bother. This is advanced RPing, so YES, your posts need to be longer and more detailed and we DO care about your spelling and grammar.

Tara nodded at Dani, who was unabashedly listening to every word that was said. "Little puffskeins have big ears," she said cryptically, indicating Dani. "You probably don't want to say things like that in front of the child who just tried to make friends with one of the most infamous Dark wizards of all time." They moved into the castle and Tara was silent for several long moments. "We can leave whenever you want, although I suppose I ought to let Dumbledore know we won't be needing a caregiver for Dani afterall."

"There isn't a great rush, though it might be nice to leave in a week or two, if we could," he said as they walked up the stairs to the Astronomy tower. "I can inform Dumbledore of our plans as I'll have to speak to him about this encounter with my old friend, anyway."

"We'll be ready to go. Right, Dani?" she addressed the little girl, who nodded emphatically. "Dumbledore is the only person that knows where that cottage is, anyway. Perhaps we can make him a secret keeper and place a Fidelius Charm on the house. Then we'd be really well hidden." She considered that, thinking that it might be very nice to be stranded in Italy with Severus, Dani, and the ocean view.

"That may not be necessary but, it wouldn't hurt, either," Snape replied. "We can discuss it with him when we talk about our leaving. I still have to inform the Dark Lord of my plans. In the meantime, it would be best if you two stayed close to the castle."

Tara agreed and was about to continue the conversation when Dani yawned hugely. It wasn't late in the day, but the little girl had already had been up for a while and was still adjusting to her new life. "I think we'll take our leave of you, Severus. Dani needs a nap." The little girl started to protest, and Tara rolled her eyes. "Fine, fine... I need a nap, then."

Snape nodded. "I'll speak with Dumbledore and we can begin making the necessary arrangements this week," he said before turning and heading down the stairs toward the Slytherin dungeons.

"Okay..." Harry said, watching Ginny. "I don't want to be here either, Gin... This place... it reminds me of fifth year and Sirirus and everything that happened. We all had some pretty bad times here. I mean, right at this table... we were up that whole night not knowing if your dad was dead or alive. And now... it's like we're living it over again. I can't wait to get out of this place... but we will someday. I promise. He had moved to the table and sat down next to Ginny.

Hermione sat down next to Fred. She didn't lay down, but stayed sitting up, playing with the grass. "You don't make me nervous... well... you do, kind of... but it's only because..." Hermione stopped. But, deciding she could trust Fred not to make her feel like a fool, she went on. "I've never really... besides Viktor... had... this." She blushed and looked away, not wanting to make eye contact with Fred.

Ginny leaned back so that her body was resting against Harry's. "I know," her voice was muffled against her arm and thick with unshed tears. "Harry, I think I need you to hold me. Just... just be here with me. I know we won't have to stay here forever, but wherever we go, we'll always be prisoners of Voldemort. He has us trapped as much here as if we were in his keeping."

Harry wrapped his arms around Ginny and hugged her close to him. He started playing with her hair, wrapping it around his fingers and admiring how the light reflected upon it. "It is something we're always going to have to live with, though... I guess we just have to make the best of it... if that's even possible," Harry said.

Ginny shifted within Harry's embrace to look up at him. "It isn't something we'll always have to live with, Harry. Someday, you're going to defeat Voldemort, and then we can live. The sooner the better, I say, although I'm sure you hope that final battle is a long way off." She nestled her forehead into the curve of his neck and sighed against his collar bone. "I need to remember I'm lucky to have you as it is right now, when only a few weeks ago I didn't have you at all."

"But now you do, and everything's just wonderful, right? I mean, I am Harry Potter," Harry said, making his voice pompous and arrogant. "I'm the boy who lived! Rather... the man who lived..." He finished off with the best impression of a Malfoy sneer he could manage.

That was a much better answer than what he was expecting and put a smile on his face. "I can work with that..I was beginning to think that I had imagined that you ever said you did have feelings for me.." Fred's words were heavy, and even his own cheeks burned slightly. Not wanting to make Hermione feel any more awkward, he sat up and crossed his legs, puting himself directly in front of her. Fred took up Hermione's hands with his own, and scooted closer so their knees were touching. "I've never had this either...and well, I think we should take things very, very slow...I know myself better than I know anyone else..well, except George, and I mess things up all the time..but this..."he said taking her hand and pointing to the both of them in turn.."This is something I don't want to mess up. Hermione...you make Fred Weasley's stomach do somesaults with a simple smile..and that is really saying something.."

"...Only because you're with me," Harry said, finishing with his act of arrogance. "I'd say it's pretty much the same with you... it's quite wonderful to have you all to myself." He gave her a kiss on the forehead and put his hand over her hand that was lingering on his collar.

Hermione smiled and squeezed Fred's hand. She was quite glad to hear that he'd never had... this... before, either. And she doubted he would ever be able to mess this up, despite what he said. "You won't mess it up, Fred. I'm perfectly fine with taking it very, very slow."

Ginny wrinkled her nose and answered in a sarcastic tone," Oh, I don't know, Potter. You only get me on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and every other weekend. Malfoy gets me the rest of the time." She squirmed in his embrace, feeling too antsy and wound up to sit and be held. Even Harry's normally soothing embrace wasn't making her feel better, although she didn't know what WOULD make her feel better.

Ginny was getting squirmy and Harry let her stand up. He stood up too, but took a seat on the edge of the table. "Malfoy, huh?" Harry said inquisitively. "That's okay... I'm sure he's not as good of a kisser as I am, though. Hm?"

Ginny was all set to pace the room, but Harry's words brought her to move as close to him as his posture would allow and to lean in. "I think you're a much better kisser, Harry. Would you care to test that theory?" She closed the gap between them, putting all of her nervous energy and tension into kissing Harry.

She finished her butterbeer float, paid, and walked back out onto the street. After looking at a few flats, Tonks finally settled on a small one near Gringott's which she could occupy immediately. She paid her deposit and first month's rent and watched as the landlord shut the door, leaving her alone in her empty new flat. Sighing, Tonks took her small bag of floo powder from within her robes and flooed back to Grimmauld Place to collect her things.

Harry was somewhat pushed down to the table by Ginny. She was being more forceful than she normally would when kissing him. He wrapped his arms around her neck and intertwined a hand in her hair. He pulled away from her after a few seconds and said, catching his breath "Am I winning against Malfoy, yet?"

"No contest," Ginny rested her forehead against Harry's, catching her breath. "I really don't want to talk about Malfoy right now, Harry." She clutched the front of his sweater and looked around the kitchen. She'd definitely heard at least one person come through while she'd been preoccupied with Harry, and that wouldn't do. "Let's move this somewhere else." She pulled on the front of Harry's shirt, yanking him into a standing position.

Harry followed Ginny. She led him into the drawing room. For some reason, Harry felt they had just missed being walked in on in the kitchen. Harry pulled Ginny close to him and started to kiss her again.

Ginny leaned against Harry, not really understanding why she just needed him at that moment. She had been pretty sure she wasn't ready for anything more than kissing Harry as they both tried to figure out where they were going and as they just attempted to survive. But the thought that they could both be dead tomorrow, plus the nervous energy that had her wanting to just run or hit something repeatedly was overpowering that sense of her timing being off. Her impatient fingers moved to the buttons on his shirt.
