After Ginny finishes her final year at Hogwarts, she's stunned to learn that Harry, who's been out of school a year, is engaged. Not wanting to return to the Burrow, which will be full of wedding planning and activity, Ginny escapes to Diagon Alley for a bit of independent living. The twins kindly take Ginny in and offer her a job, and she drags Neville and Luna along as flatmates. Who knows what will happen now that they are living independently?

This is a VERY loose storyline so far, but we want to have the chance to explore these characters as rising adults. I have all of the main characters filled at this point. If you are interested, go ahead and post your character idea. To be honest, I'd prefer HP characters (but not necesarily HRH) rather than made-ups... although a quality made-up is always welcome. If I don't feel your character will add to the story, I probably won't say yes. Also, we're quite serious about RPing, so if you aren't on at night EST, CST, or you will only post very sporadically, don't bother. This is advanced RPing, so YES, your posts need to be longer and more detailed and we DO care about your spelling and grammar.

Guin was so serious and professional in her work. If it had been anyone else, George would have pinched her or tickled her or even teased the goblin, but he followed Guin obediently down the hallway. What was wrong with him? If she said she liked him, then she was referring to the man who'd tried to do a cartwheel and failed, not this pale, boring chap who was trying to please her so hard. George struggled as he entered a room behind Guin.

Guin smiled at George, he was being so quiet she was shocked. "Lighten up George." Guin told him with a laugh after entering a room. "Thank you, Hursh." Guin said to the little goblin now leaving them. Guin looked to the front of the room and noticed Girphook. "Why hello, Girp." Guin teased at the goblin that now looked up from his ever growing pile of work.

"If it isn't the infamous Guinevere Woods." Girphook said with a scold as he saw the young women before him. "Why haven't you been at work?!" He added quickly, he was a busy man and didn't need to waste his time.

Guin smiled and sat down in a arm chair and crossed her legs. "Why am I not surprised you'd go straight to the matter." Guin laughed and then turned serious. "I finished the digging...then I had some matters to take care of. Something then happened and I've been detained." Guin tried to explain.

"That is no excuse and you know it Guinevere." Girphook shoot back with an angry voice. "You know that your needed there, and that without you it turns into a whole big mess...and a pile of more paperwork." He said motioning to the papers.

"Err...I know Girp. I'm really sorry." Guin said apologizing. "I guess I'm needed..." She added with a sigh.

"Well of course girl! How are we supposed to keep those muggles away! And the money Guinevere." Girp yelled back furiously. "You start tomorrow." He added in a final note before looking back at his papers and writing fast.

Guin didn't know what to say, she was shocked. How was she supposed to go back to work with the DE's out and about?! Dumbledore would not let her go. Well she would just have to ask him. "Yes, sir." Guin said to Girphook. "And if..."

"If not you will have to be replaced. Now I'm busy, please leave."

Guin nodded with a sigh and got up. "Lets go George." She whispered to him as she left the room with a saddened look.

Dumbeldore smiled pateintly. "You misunderstand me but, I appreciate your willingness to do me this favor," he replied before walking over to Danika. "How would you like to meet Fawkes?"

"Who's that?" Dani stood and slipped her hand into Dumbledore's as he led her from the room. She was curious about everyone she met, but if this was a special friend of Dumbledore's than he or she was probably pretty amazing.

Tara sighed as Dani disappeared. Someday that girl would put her trust in the wrong person. She moved quickly to wash up and change her clothes, not imagining that whatever sort of consolation Severus needed involved her grubby hands and grease-streaked face. SHe realized belatedly that she STILL had Severus's book, her conversation with Dumbledore overshadowing her desire to send it back to him and be rid of it. Tara shook off the thought to just bring it to him now, before she stepped to the fireplace and flooed right into the kitchen at Grimmauld Place.

George saw Guin's downcast face as they left the room and he stopped in the hallway. At her look, he gathered her into his arms and propped his chin on her head. "So... we have two options. We can either go get ourselves ready to go wherever it is you have to go, or I can go back in there and try to talk sense into Mr. Griphook using my Weasley charm and an assortment of hexes. I like the latter, but its your call."

It seemed like they had just been talking to her and here she was, all sooty from the floo. "Hello Professor," Tonks greeted her. "What brings you all the way out here? Isn't it a bit early... or is it late?"

George brought Guin into hiis arms and she stayed there for a long time before speaking. "Even though the latter does sound appealing I'd rather not make him any madder." Guin said looking up at him. "I think I need to talk to Dumbledore...I have to convince him somehow to let me go. I love my job and couldn't bare being fired!" Guin exclaimed with a sigh. She started to walk down the hall with George beside her, "Do you know where Dumbledore is?"

"No, no... I just... what do you want to do today?" He asked her with a smile, and seeing the somewhat puzzled look on her face, he explained, "Well, I thought it would be awkward to, you know... ask in front of Liz... seeing as she hates me."

Tara squinted at the red-headed woman. She looked like one of the Weasleys, but Tara had taught 5 of them and met the older two, so she was certain this wasn't one of that vast clan. But that meant... "Nymphadora Tonks, I almost didn't recognize you. Quite a cruel trick to play on an old teacher like that." Tara grinned and cleaned herself off with her wand. "Its a bit early, I suppose. I'm on a different schedule now that my daughter has come to stay at Hogwarts." She tried to pass that off as common information. "Have you seen Professor Snape? Headmaster Dumbledore sent me with a message."

Tonks beamed. "Old? You aren't old, Professor," she laughed. "I didn't know you had a daughter. But, that's wonderful news that she's come to stay at Hogwarts."

Tonks was intrigued by the fact she was looking for Snape after the discussion she had just had. But, Professor Sinistra did say she came bearing a message from Dumbledore so, maybe there wasn't anything to this little visit. Hmm... perhaps Fred had some of those extendable ears she could borrow... "I'm not sure where Mr. Grumpy Pants has run off to," she said. "My best guess would be the drawing room as it's usually quiet in there. But, I must warn you, he's being especially testy today, so watch yourself. I'm pretty sure he's going to start breathing fire one of these days."

George walked down the hall next to Guin for a moment before he turned and grabbed her again, this time pushing against the wall so she couldn't twist and walk away like before. "I want to hold you, woman. Hold still for a moment so I can enjoy it," he teased her, but he did like the feel of her in his arms. Finally, he let go and smiled down at her. "Now I'll take you to Dumbledore. Honestly, woman..." He held her hand and led her back to the Floo fireplaces.

"She doesn't hate you, Harry," Ginny answered in a low voice, pushing his hair off his forehead with her thumb. "She doesn't, and that's the whole problem. But as for what we're doing today..." She thought about it. "I suppose I ought to fix Fred's damage to the garden outside." Ginny sighed heavily at the thought, not really looking forward to it.

"Yes, well... with his Potions expertise, I'm certain he already has found a way to breath fire and is merely taking pity on the rest of us by not using it. I shall go seek out Mr. Grumpy Pants, as you say... although I don't recommend calling him that to his face. He's actually quite fond of his pants and might get offended." Tara nodded at Tonks, thinking that the girl was actually quite good-natured when she wasn't deathly afraid of breaking a telescope. She left the young woman in the kitchen and crossed the hall quietly, knocking lightly on the Drawing Room door.

Guin laughed as George then dragged her to the floo fireplaces again. "I didn't know you were that kinda guy." Guin teased as she stood there. Then she hugged him and then tiptoed up to kiss him gently on the cheek. "Thank you." Guin smiled planting her feet on the floor. "Where to then?!" Guin asked as she looked up at George.

Some teachers, Snape being the biggest exclusion, were so much fun once you were out of school. Of course, Dumbledore had always been fun but, that was besides the point. Tonks had enjoyed the short conversation she had with Professor Sinistra and sat back at the table feeling a bit better.

"I will not tolerate any more nonsense so, I suggest you take your games elsewhere," Snape spat at the door when he heard the knock. He turned his attention back to his book and continued reading, hoping that Tonks would at least attempt to keep the children out of his way.

George crossed his arms and said gruffly, "Of course I'm that kind of guy. I take what I ant and what I want is..." He blushed and lit the fire, throwing a handful of floo powder in again. "What I want is to go to Hogwarts. Let's go." He stepped quickly into the fire and shouted their destination.

Tara almost smiled at the tone of Snape's voice. He was annoyed, certainly, but that was typical of him. He didn't sound to be in dire need of her company as Dumbledore had implied, but she slipped the door open and stuck her head into the room anyway. "Did you want tea, Severus?" she asked calmly.

Dumbledore took Danika's hand and led her back to his office. "Actually, Danika, Fawkes is not a person. Fawkes is a phoenix," he said, opening the door to his office and ushering the girl in.

Pointing to the beautiful red and gold bird perched beside his desk he said, "There he is."

Dani dropped Dumbledore's hand and rushed to look at the bird. He was all gleaming and lovely, and she wanted to pet his head right above the intelligent eyes that seemed to be looking right at her. She wondered how she had missed seeing Fawkes before, but now she was free to study him. Lightly touching the end of the tail feathers, Dani took a step back in surprise. They were warm.

Guin smiled and followed George through the fireplace. She found herself in a big room. Guin looked around and stared at George, "Staff room? It looks like it..." She said grabbing his hand. "Umm so where is Dumbledores office from here?!" Guin thought and pulled him out. "I think I know where." They walked down the halls until finally Guin reached Dumbledores entrance to his office. "Now what..."

Dumbledore smiled. "Fawkes is a phoenix. They are very special birds. They burst into flames when it is time for them to die and then, they are reborn from the ashes. They also have many special powers. Their tears have healing powers, they can carry immensely heavy loads, they are very intelligent, and make very loyal pets. Their feathers are commonly used as the magical core in wands," he lectured. "You can pet him if you would like. Go on."

After speaking he turned his head to listen at the door. He smiled and waited for the knock.

"Well, we either need to think of the password or do the 'Come down here, Dumbledore' dance. I personally vote for the dance, although his password is usually a kind of candy or such." He left her to try out various things while he jumped and danced around her in circles singing Dumbledore's name. Occasionally, he'd reach out and poke her or give her a light pinch, distracting her from her purpose.

Dani gave the man and incredulous look before turning back to the bird. If Dumbledore said she could touch it, she would. Stroking the feathers on his head, Dani cooed at him softly and ignored the racket that suddenly began from outside the doors. Fawkes watched her as best he could, and Dani could have sworn he was enjoying it, although he didn't move much. She wondered if her mother would let her get a pet.

Guin tried saying random words and words of types of candies but nothing worked. Everytime George pinched or poked her she tried to do the same back but failed because he would keep running around. "Dumbledore!" Guin yelled finally,"Its Guinevere Woods here to speak to you! Please open the door or come down!" She kept yelling until she tired herself out. Sighing she turned to George,"Its not working.

Snape was about to explode when he turned and realized who was speaking. "How?" he whispered, almost to himself; hadn't he just been wishing for her? "I didn't realize it was you. A cup of tea would be nice. Will you be joining me?"

Tara could see then the tense lines of Snape's body, the anger and sorrow etched on his face. She entered the room, closing the door behind her and leaning against it. She studied him in a way that she wanted to be detached and clinical, but the movement in her heart told her she was fooling herself. "Of course. I asked that house elf to bring it. He should be along shortly."

He set down his book and leaned back in the chair. For some strange reason, he felt a bit better now that Tara was here. Realizing that he was sitting in the center of a two-seated chair, he moved over to give Tara some space to sit if she wanted to. "It's a bit early for you to be up, isn't it?" he asked.
