After Ginny finishes her final year at Hogwarts, she's stunned to learn that Harry, who's been out of school a year, is engaged. Not wanting to return to the Burrow, which will be full of wedding planning and activity, Ginny escapes to Diagon Alley for a bit of independent living. The twins kindly take Ginny in and offer her a job, and she drags Neville and Luna along as flatmates. Who knows what will happen now that they are living independently?

This is a VERY loose storyline so far, but we want to have the chance to explore these characters as rising adults. I have all of the main characters filled at this point. If you are interested, go ahead and post your character idea. To be honest, I'd prefer HP characters (but not necesarily HRH) rather than made-ups... although a quality made-up is always welcome. If I don't feel your character will add to the story, I probably won't say yes. Also, we're quite serious about RPing, so if you aren't on at night EST, CST, or you will only post very sporadically, don't bother. This is advanced RPing, so YES, your posts need to be longer and more detailed and we DO care about your spelling and grammar.

Dumbledore placed a hand on the young witch's shoulders. "You couldn't have known that they would leave the house while you were still asleep. I asked you to come stay here to keep an eye on things but, I never expected you to keep grown wizards in line. I merely hoped that your presence might provide some amount of proof of the seriousness of the situation we are currently in. You've done well, Nymphadora."

Tonks cringed at the sound of her given name but, didn't bother to correct Dumbledore. He was Dumbledore, after all, and could call her whatever he liked. "Well, I suppose we can ask Snape what happened but, the only way I can see that they would have been able to get the body out would have been to have waited for the other Death Eaters to leave first. And if Severus had been there, he would have stopped them or helped them and they would not have sustained the injuries they have."

George had forgotten that Guin knew Alicia too. Maybe even better than he had. He wiped a tear from her cheek and let his hand linger there. "Hey, I know it'll be okay. Its senseless and terrible, but... I know my purpose now. Its personal when they go after my sister and my friends." His face was firm and unmoving, nothing like the normally fluid good-nature apparent on his freckled face.

Ginny sneered, and it was a bit frightening. "Malfoy? I knew he was a Death Eater. He probably would have killed me that day on the street... and I took him to Hogwarts to heal like a good little Gryffindor. I probably should have been sorted into Hufflepuff. I'm such a duffer sometimes." Ginny wrapped her hands around Fred's arm. "Next time, I'm going too."

Guin looked into Georges eyes as he wiped another tear from her eyes. She was speechless as she looked at him, she felt a weird little feeling in her stomach and looked away. "I hope you don't do anything foolish George, if anything happened to you...or Fred...Your family will be devasted!" She said to him with a concerned look. When did Guin become concerned? She was confusing herself but she felt at a loss.

George hastily removed his hand from her face and sipped his tea. "Not as devastated as I'd be if anything happened to THEM and I could have prevented it. They all know what it means for Fred and I to be in the Order." George supposed he should be glad that Guin was showing concern for Fred. She had made a point of mentioning him afterall. But... why wasn't he MORE glad?

"You're right. You should of been sorted into Hufflepuff, you dimwit. You're not stepping out of this house. Ever. Hope you like it here." Fred said seriously and unconsciously rubbing his ribs where Malfoy had sucker punched him. "The weird part was...Malfoy told us how to get out. He was the only one that recognized us, I think. Snape though....Professor Dumbledore is going to hear an earful about him from me when he gets here..."Fred's fists balling up as he flashbacked to the scene of Snape touching Alicia's face...

"Always the protective one, Fred," Ginny placed her hand on his arm and squeezed it gently. "I'll stay here. I promise. I hate it here, but... And maybe we've totally misjudged Malfoy. I can't see him helping you leave if he was loyal to Voldemort." Ginny still had to get used to saying his name, although her parents remained in the group that avoided it at any cost.

"I guess your right..." Guin said as she sipped her tea some more. Guin was suddenly thinking about Alicia, she was such a good person. Guin had been friends with her even tho Alicia had been older, she had never been at fault for anything. Why did the innocent always have to pay? The death eaters needed to pay for this one, it had been to close to home. Guin shoke her head and thought of her family, she needed to keep her family safe.

Fred shrugged again, "I don't know Ginns. But, I don't think I want to talk anymore. How about I walk you into the kitchen and head on up to bed." Fred stood, taking Ginny's hand from his arm and pulling her up with him. "Thanks Ginns...."

Guin had lapsed into a silence that made George uncomfortable. He almost preferred her mad at him than so sad and quiet. It wasn't like her to be so. "About the... what happened yesterday. I'm sorry. Really. I was born a prat, and I just can't overcome my genes. Besides that, I never would have pranked you... at least not until I knew you well enough to know I didn't do it because I don't like you, but because I do."

Ginny wrapped her arms around her older brother and propped her chin on his chest. "I hate to see you as anything more than your normal, annoying self. I know you don't want me around right now, but let me sit with you and not talk some more later. I can be very quiet if I try." She winked at him and walked him into the kitchen. Ginny came up behind Harry, who was talking to Ron, and wrapped her arms around him, laying her head on his back. She no longer cared who saw her.

Harry felt arms around him and turned around to see Ginny. "Hey..." He said, to greet her. He felt a little guilty, because her face made him feel so blissfull... but a dead girl's body was lying upstairs. "How's your brother?" He was just assuming she had been talking with one of her brothers.

Ron looked up and saw his sister being close with Harry. This, in itself made him want to throw up, but he hid his disgust and awaited Ginny's answer to Harry.

Ginny ducked under his arms so that she was in the middle of Harry's embrace without him having to make a move. She pushed him into a chair by the counter and crawled into his lap, tucking her head under his chin. "I really need to be held right now. Sorry I'm so pushy." She watched George talk quietly with Guin for a moment, and was happy for the older girl's presence. "Fred's okay. He's gone to sleep off some of the tension, I think. When will those boys stop being so... reckless?"

Harry hugged Ginny's small body to him, enjoying her warmth. He was just about to make an attempt to reason out that the twins would stop being reckless sometime when he was interrupted by Ron.

"They'll stop being reckless when..." Ron searched his thoughts for a good comparison... "They'll stop being reckless when Lockhart stops being insane." It wasn't the best, but he thought the point got across. He stood up and walked over to the counter, leaning upon it.

Ginny stuck her tongue out at Ron, feeling a bit unhappy that he seemed uncomfortable with her newly found relationship with Harry. "Well, being reckless is what makes them the twins, I guess. Maybe they learned something from this... maybe they'll be more cautious in taking on danger." She poked Harry in the ribs. "Maybe you've learned to be cautious too. What do you think?"

"Well, this will influence me, I suppose... but I'm not nearly as reckless as the twins. When I'm reckless, it's because I feel strongly about what I'm being reckless for." Harry wasn't exactly sure that was what Ginny wanted to hear. "But, yes... I've learned to be more cautious." He took notice of Ron, standing near the counter with a sort of sickened expression on his face, presumably because of they way he and Ginny were sitting.

Ginny studied him for a moment before allowing his answer to pass. "I suppose that's as good as I'm going to get," Ginny laughed and patted his cheek affectionately. She caught sight of Ron's face and stuck her tongue out at him again before snuggling back against Harry and stroking his face. Ron was just going to have to grow up.

Tonks and Dumbledore had a little more discussion before they made their way back out to the kitchen. Dumbledore left by the floo before saying a word to anyone else. He had the unpleasant task of informing Alicia's parents of their daughter's death before having to discuss the meeting with Severus. She sank into a chair at the kitchen table, still feeling guilty for having let the twins out the house, despite what Dumbledore said.

Ron turned a deep pink and mumbled under his breath and left the room. He knew Ginny was trying to get on his nerves, and she was succeeding.

Harry smiled watching Ron walk away. It would have to be awkward for him to see his best friend and sister be close like they were. However, he enjoyed the feel of Ginny's cool hand on his face. He grabbed her hand in his and gave it a quick kiss.

Ginny saw Harry smile as Ron left, and she removed her hand from his to smack him lightly on the chest. "You git. You wanted him to leave so that you could be alone with me." She leaned in to give him a kiss, but pulled back at the last second. "Bad news. There are still lots of people in the kitchen." She smiled and patted his cheek before resuming her cuddle against his chest.

"Yes, it might be wise not to disgust them as well," Harry said. It was quite enjoyable having Ginny sit with him... or rather... on him. Her company was very comforting. For the moment, he didn't want to know about Alicia or think about Luna or anything that was happening. He wanted to live in this moment with Ginny.

Ginny's eyes flashed playfully. "Mr. Potter, are you suggesting my love for you is disgusting? Well... I never..." She continued to sit contentedly on his lap, her ear pressed to his chest where she could hear his heart beating strongly. "I don't want to be here anymore, Harry. Let's run far, far away," her voice was little more than a whisper.

Ginny's whisper made Harry think... If they could get away... just he and Ginny, everything would be fine. No one would know where they went. But doing that would be so dangerous... He sighed. "We don't need to leave, Ginny... I love you."

Fred passed by the kitchen, dropping off Ginny successfully without anyone stopping him or badgering him. He passed by Mrs. Black's picture and saw the curtains still smoking a bit from him display earlier. He shook his head and took the steps up to his room.

No one was around upstairs, which was a relief to Fred. He wasn't ready for questions, or reliving his day yet. He just wanted to lay on his bed. He creaked the door open, and kicked off his shoes. He dropped his robe at the door and plopped down on his bed. He put his hands behind his head and just stared at the ceiling, trying to just think blank thoughts...

Hermione had gone up to her bedroom and was just sitting on her bed, thinking, when she noticed Fred pass by the open door. She was so tempted to follow him, but didn't want to make him upset with her if he wanted to be by himself. Before she knew what she was doing, Hermione was in the hallway and walking towards the twins' bedroom door. She pushed it open and saw Fred on his bed... he didn't realize she was standing there, as he was staring blankly at the ceiling. She walked over to the side of his bed, "Fred?" She said quietly.

Fred's eyes were open but he wasn't very awake. He had zoned out trying his best to think about Quidditch, but that just led to Alicia. He tried to think of home, but then he remembered the time George and he had brought her and the rest of the team home with them for a huge slumber party. he settled on thinking about something else that made him happy...no happy thoughts were coming. But, finally the one person that had made him so happy the last couple of weeks popped into his mind. Then, almost dream like she was there.

He and Hermione hadn't really crossed any borders yet, and he still hadn't asked her about his feelings for her, but regardless he reached up for her hand. He gently pulled on her and sat her down beside him, as he sat up. Without saying anything, Fred just pulled her into a larger than life hug and held her.
