After Ginny finishes her final year at Hogwarts, she's stunned to learn that Harry, who's been out of school a year, is engaged. Not wanting to return to the Burrow, which will be full of wedding planning and activity, Ginny escapes to Diagon Alley for a bit of independent living. The twins kindly take Ginny in and offer her a job, and she drags Neville and Luna along as flatmates. Who knows what will happen now that they are living independently?

This is a VERY loose storyline so far, but we want to have the chance to explore these characters as rising adults. I have all of the main characters filled at this point. If you are interested, go ahead and post your character idea. To be honest, I'd prefer HP characters (but not necesarily HRH) rather than made-ups... although a quality made-up is always welcome. If I don't feel your character will add to the story, I probably won't say yes. Also, we're quite serious about RPing, so if you aren't on at night EST, CST, or you will only post very sporadically, don't bother. This is advanced RPing, so YES, your posts need to be longer and more detailed and we DO care about your spelling and grammar.

Tara saw the relief in his eyes, and she reminded herself that she didn't care about him in any way beyond basic professionalism allowed. She rose and moved to the door, turning to watch Dani throw her arms around Snape and grin at him. It hurt her - why had she let Dani grow to like this man when he had no desire to love her back? "Come along, Dani... we need to send an owl to Dumbledore as well."

George watched Fred for a moment, but his twin was working himself into a good lather, not really relieving his stress. George crawled to where his brother sat and put a calming hand on his arm, watching as Ginny pulled the curtain closed around the scorched painting. Her eyes were big as she took in Alicia's body, and George wished he could just protect her from all the horrors of the world.

"We went to the Death Eater meeting. They... they killed her. They killed Alicia." George's voice was dull, and the ache in his shoulder was severe. "We should have tried to stop them."

Draco woke up in the infirmary once again, victim to his earlier bout of what apparently was hysteria or a mental breakdown.

Too tired to feel adequately humiliated or embarrassed, he rewound back to the last thing he could remember and then worked backwards. Recalling the Dark Lord's instructions to take care of certain matters, his eyes widened in panic as he realized that he didn't have the documents on him anymore.

Did I bring them with me? His eyebrows furrowed.

"No, I know I brought them with me. I must have dropped the packet when I fell in the entraceway." He muttered out loud then cursed. "Blast it all!"

He ran a hand through his hair and pondered on what to do.

Seeing as how he certainly had it when he had returned to school, he conjured up as clear of a picture as he could of the item he had lost and attempted to summon it.

He felt a tug, but nothing more.

"What the..."

He hadn't graduated at the top of Slytherin House for no reason.

Though his herbology, divination, and care of magical creatures skills had been somewhat lacking - getting more than acceptable grades had been a PAIN, he had made up for it in the other areas, one of them being charms.

Summoning an object shouldn't have been a problem. Perplexed, he got out of the bed, and after testing his legs out, he headed to the other parts of the school to reattempt the summoning.

After long moments of fruitless searching, he wondered if perhaps the object in question was something that couldn't be summoned.

The frustration was nearly unbearable and as he was ready to do something stupid - like transfiguring random things - one last summon sent him in the direction of Dumbledore's office.

He stopped short right at the door.

Did Dumbledore have the packet?

He mentally groaned and backed away from the door and leaned against the wall.

"Bloody buggery..."

Hermione and Ginny had gone inside to find Tonks's robes just about the same time Fred and George had burst through the front door with a girl's body. Mrs. Black was screaming, but with the mix of Fred's curses and Ginny pulling the curtain over her, she was soon subdued. Hermione stood there, staring at the girl.... Then George spoke. They had gone to a Death Eater meeting? Had Dumbledore known about this? If he hadn't, Hermione was positive he wouldn't approve and the twins would be in loads of trouble. But for a moment, she stopped worrying about the fate of the Weasleys as far as the Order went and asked, "Are you two okay?"

Fred pulled away from George and slid back a good ways from everyone. He didn't want to be touched and he didn't want everyone asking him questions. "We're fine. Just somebody get Dumbledore and take care of Alicia. And be gentle with her..."Fred said reaching out to brush her hand on the floor. "I...need a walk or something." And Fred got up and walked through the mass of people he and George had managed to gather and went out into the back garden.

He was still gripping his wand, and he hadn't got his rage out on Mrs. Black, so the trees in the garden were going to pay. Fred shot curses, and hexes and jinxes of all sorts at the trees, and feeling better with each branch he snapped.

Tonks decided that she needed to take charge, she didn't have time to think about whether or not anyone would listen to her. Ginny had already taken care of closing the curtains over the portrait so, that was done. "Hermione, go floo Dumbledore. He should be in his office. Tell him what we know," Tonks said to the bushy-haired girl before turning to Ginny. "Ginny, go and put a kettle on, I think we could use some tea."

She turned to George. "I'm going to take Alicia to a room on the third floor where she can rest in peace while the proper arrangements are made," Tonks sighed internally in relief at having remembered the name, for George's sake. "If you wish to assist me, you may but, if not, go sit at the table and let Ginny get you some tea. We can find Fred later but, right now, he needs space."

Tonks drew out her wand as she looked around to see if anyone was moving to take her orders seriously.

Ginny nodded, giving Geoge a glance as she left the room. He was sitting so still, and there was a haunted, pinched look to his normally cheerful face. She quickly filled the kettle and lit the stove with her wand, not really thinking too hard about her task. The water would boil soon, so Ginny turned to rummage in the cupboards for some tea. Seeing Ron, Bill, Elizabeth, and Guin standing there looking a bit awkward, Ginny snapped at them. "Maybe one of you could go and fetch George. He isn't going to move on his own."

George knew he couldn't do much to help Tonks remove Alicia's body to the upstairs room, but he didn't want to go to the kitchen and have to talk to people. Besides, his shoulder burned and he wasn't certain he could lift his weight to get up. He sat and stared at the curtain surrounding Mrs. Black's portrait. His mind was numb.

Guin stared at Ginny then went up to the hall, George was looking so pale and distraught. Guin couldn't help but feel sorry for him. She glanced up and noticed Tonks caring a body up, "Oh my.."Guin gasped quietly to herself and walked up to George. Suddenly all the fighting and incidents she had with the twins were wiped away as she looked at poor George, "George...come on." She said quietly to him as she helped him up.

George was pulled to his feet, and he hissed in pain as Guin jolted his arm. His right arm clutched at the shoulder pulled from its socket, and George allowed Guin to direct him down the hallway. "I should have... I could have..." George replayed the events again and again, trying to figure out how he could have saved Alicia. It would have been better to die himself, but it had happened so fast.

Tonks levitated the body but, knowing her tendancy to be a bit clumsy, figured it was best to direct the body using her arms, rather than pointing her wand. So, she "lifted" the girl up the stairs and to a small room Sirius had pointed out to her. She hadn't thought to look on the third floor for a room to stay in the previous night. The room she entered was small but, contained a bed. Tonks wasn't good at household spells so, she did the best she could with dusting the bed off and laid the body down. She bowed her head in respect for the dead before quietly shutting the door and heading back downstairs.

"Shhh George...it's not your fault." Guin whispered to him as she brought him down to the kitchens. He was beating himself up and this brought even more sadness to Guin as she looked at him. "Come now, sit down and drink something." She added as Bill moved out of the way and let George sit.

Bill was still groggy from almost falling asleep on the kitchen table when Ginny came in and the Guin had brought a distraught George into the kitchen. Something was up so Bill went upstairs to see what had happened. Dumbledore would probably be needing him any moment.

Ginny handed two cups of tea to Guin, and moved away from the table. She knew how to handle the twins in their humor and their temper, but she had no idea how to handle them in their grief. Moving to the window, Ginny watched Fred destroy the garden she and Harry had worked so hard on over the past few days. She knew he needed to get his anger out, and Ginny just watched branches shower the ground. After a moment, she slipped outside and sat on teh steps to be with Fred but to let him vent.

George took the cup and scalded his tongue on it. He set it down and turned to look at Guin, seeing her for the first time. "It seems like an awful lot to go through just to get you not to be mad at me anymore," George offered a weak smile at his pale attempt at teasing. "I think maybe next time I'll just have you stay mad and... and not..." He turned back to the tea and swished it in the cup.

Fred saw Ginny out of the corner of his eye, but just continued on. "Don't ask me questions,"he said to her while really letting a rather large oak tree have it with a flame charm. He made a few more rounds, and after successfully scorching the entire garden his head couldn't take it anymore. That run in with the wall had come so close to knocking him out, and he could still feel the blood rushing to it. He resorted to going to sit with Ginny. He plopped down beside her, wiping sweat from his brow before resting his head in his hands.

Guin gave George a sincere small smile back. "Lets not think about that now ok?" She said as she looked at George. He didn't look at all like the George she had grown to hate, she was close to tears as she stared at him grovelling in his own pity. "Just drink your tea ok?" She added trying not to stare at him. Guin was such a sap at times but she couldn't help it.

"I wasn't going to say anything," Ginny answered as he came to sit by her. "I hate it when people try to make me talk about something before I'm ready... so take your time." She pointed to a spot of ground about ten feet in front of them. "I think you missed that spot. I hope you realize I'm going to make you repair this garden once you're done being destructive." She leaned back on her elbows and stared at the sky. It was much too lovely a day for things such as this.

George looked at Guin, his dark blue eyes hooded and liquid deep. Her lovely face was a mask of sorrow and discomfort, and he found himself putting his hand over hers. "You drink your tea too. We'll both drink our tea. It'll be nice. And when we're done, I"ll pour us some more."

Hermione did as Tonks told her to, and contacted Dumbledore who said he would make it to the house as soon as he could. She returned downstairs still in confusion and worry. She passed the room in which George and Guin were in, then passed the kitchen where Harry and Ron were sitting, talking quietly, apparently not wanting to interfere. Hermione came to the back door and opened it, thinking maybe she could help Fred in some way. When she opened the door, she found Ginny and Fred sitting on the stairs. She wanted to say something to let Fred know she was there, but decided to let Ginny comfort her brother and closed the door gently.

Guin smiled at George, "I'm supposed to comforting you not the other way around." Guin finished her tea and went to get the kettle of tea and poured some more for her and George. "Do you wanna talk about what happened George?" She said quietly. "Nevermind...we'll just drink tea. When your ready you'll talk..." She said to herself with a nod.

Tonks stepped into the kitchen just as Dumbledore appeared in the fire. She walked over to him and began to explain what she had seen and the actions she had taken. The two walked into the study, away from the others, while Tonks aired her suspicions about what the twins had done and apologized profusely for letting him down.

Fred blew out a long bit of air, and reached for his wand again. He did away with the bit of grass Ginny pointed to, and laid back beside her. He was grateful she wasn't trying to pry everything out of him. Fred covered his face with his hands to block out the sunlight and sighed. "We probably could of saved her....we might of died in the process, but she'd be alive and well." Fred's tone had finally cooled down. Ginny's calmness with him was doing wonders for him.

George didn't allow himself time to wonder about why his hand felt so empty when Guin moved off to pour more tea. He accepted the cup gladly, blowing across the surface of the tea in an effort to gather his thoughts. He'd not wanted to talk about what had happened, but being with Guin made him feel as if he could speak. "Fred and I are total prats. We wanted to do something good for the Order, and we ended up almost being killed ourselves. And Alicia... she was like a little bit of sunshine when we played together at Hogwarts. Can you imagine how much evil it takes to snuff out sunshine?"

"She would have died whether you'd been there or not," Ginny finally said. She didn't know how to comfort Fred other than to speak the truth and not pry too far in. It was a lot like comforting Harry. "At least you could bring her body back. I just don't understand why they'd kill her. She wasn't a Muggle or Muggle-born. She was... she was just innocent."

Guin could've cried right there but she kept it in and put her hand on his, to comfort him. "I'm so sorry George..." She said with tears growing in her eyes. "I've never experienced something like that...and I could only imagine. I knew Alicia...she was a good person." Guin turned her face for a moment and wiped a tear, she didn't want George to see her cry. She needed to comfort him but she didn't know how. What if she said something stupid?

Guin turned her head to him again and just held his hand. "It'll be ok George..."

Fred just shrugged. He wasn't going to tell her that another innocent life had been taken because of her value to the Death Eaters. It wasn't Ginny's fault, and she didn't need to feel that added guilt. "You're right, I guess. But, we'll never know. George and I just stood there and let them kill her. Who knows what would of happend if one of us would of been brave enough to step and do something..."Fred picked the paint off the steps for a while, not looking up to Ginny. "Malfoy and Snape were there too."
