After Ginny finishes her final year at Hogwarts, she's stunned to learn that Harry, who's been out of school a year, is engaged. Not wanting to return to the Burrow, which will be full of wedding planning and activity, Ginny escapes to Diagon Alley for a bit of independent living. The twins kindly take Ginny in and offer her a job, and she drags Neville and Luna along as flatmates. Who knows what will happen now that they are living independently?

This is a VERY loose storyline so far, but we want to have the chance to explore these characters as rising adults. I have all of the main characters filled at this point. If you are interested, go ahead and post your character idea. To be honest, I'd prefer HP characters (but not necesarily HRH) rather than made-ups... although a quality made-up is always welcome. If I don't feel your character will add to the story, I probably won't say yes. Also, we're quite serious about RPing, so if you aren't on at night EST, CST, or you will only post very sporadically, don't bother. This is advanced RPing, so YES, your posts need to be longer and more detailed and we DO care about your spelling and grammar.

Draco fought to keep the relieved look off his face when he realized that the Dark Lord's attention focus had been on the very late and straggling newcomers. In the buzz of voices and the sudden moment of chaos and the disruption of the meeting, Draco took this opportunity to "accidentally" elbow one of the Weasleys in the ribs. When the Weasley was slightly bent over in momentary shock, he hissed very very quietly into his/her ear.

"You DON'T belong here." His drawl was punctuated by a sneer. If anyone bothered to look in their direction, which he doubted would happen seeing as how there were people in front of them, then they'd assume he was being his normal noncongenial self, as always.

He dropped his voice even lower and he continued. "Get out of here while you still can, while everyone is distracted. I think the entrance door is still open..."

His face slipped into one of his trademark sneers and he elbowed the other Weasley and muttered, "Watch where you're going." He squeezed between and past them, effectively pushing them aside and further away from the inner circle of the group - if it was still a circle at the moment - and just hoped to Merlin that they'd be smart enough to get themselves out.

While the rest of the Death Eaters headed toward the door whilst catching up on gossip, the Dark Lord beckoned Snape to follow him to a quiet corner. Looking over his shoulder, Snape saw Bellatrix smiling at him as she clung to her husband's arm and chatted with some of their friends. The Dark Lord didn't really have anything new to say to him, he was just following up with the things they had discussed on numerous occassions. Needless to say, he was getting anxious about his plan in which Snape, as "his" mole, would play a major part.

After the little chat, Snape saw that the Death Eaters were still milling around as if this was some sort of social event. Of course, to most of them, it was. Only here could these dark wizards relax and be themselves; most of them played good citizens for the outside world and hoped, in time, when the Dark Lord took over, they would be able to live their lives in the open.

Snape was making his way to the door and had almost reached Draco and the Weasleys when Bellatrix grabbed his shoulder and began to cackle in his ear. "So, Severus, it seems your big chance has finally arrived," she laughed. "Poor old Dumbledore; the trusting fool won't know what hit him. You never did tell me how you convinced him you were harmless."

"You said it yourself, Bella; he is a trusting fool who believes in second chances," he replied, dryly.

"Second chances. Severus darling, your heart is as black as mine. You must surely be on your hundreth chance by now."

"Ah, but, Bella my good friend," Snape smirked. "That is the difference between you and I. You only use up your chances if you get caught and I have only been caught once. And even then, it was only due to a traitorous coward, giving up names in a ministry trial. But, as you can see, I was already working to secure for myself a position which would be most advantageous for our master."

Bellatrix stared at him and Snape knew she was considering drawing down on him for suggesting that he might be more cunning and useful than she. He put an arm around her shoulder and ushered her back to Rodolphus. "I think she belongs to you," he said, passing her off and taking a curt bow. "Good day."

After Snape turned his back, one of the Death Eaters approached Draco, eyeing the two Weasleys. "So, Malfoy, who are your new friends?"

Fred knew exactly what he was going to do, and he was doing it with or without the support of George. But, knowing George, he was thinking the same. He was going to retrieve Alicia's body. Fred fought back the thought that maybe..just maybe she was still alive..

Fred heard George take in a sharp breath, and then heard that very familiar drawl. Fred wanted to just punch him right in the face and move on, but with the Death Eaters still outnumbering them ten to one, Fred held back. He didn't say anything to Draco. Not wanting his voice to be heard, Fred tried to move away, but then Draco caught him in the ribs as well. Fred cursed under his breath and started moving away from the crowd....All they had to do was wait it out, get her body, and get the heck out of here. But, an evil cackle stopped Fred's movement.

He turned to get a glimpse of who it was. Raising his eyes just enough, he could see a masked, smaller witch talking with Snape. Fred strained his ears to hear what they were saying, and caught bits of Snape calling her Bella. Fred knew exactly who that was...and then he heard Snape calling Dumbledore a trusting fool.

Fred had always thought that Dumbldore was a bit too trusting, and from he was hearing now, he was right. Snape was going to do something to Dumbldore. Fred could feel his face...it had to be as bright as his hair with rage. He took another deep breath and nodded to a back corner. He and George slowly started making their way back to it...

Tonks had gotten up at some point in the middle of the conversations. She may not have to go into the office today (Kingsley had given her a week off) but, she did have some work she could be catching up on. So, she walked up to the room she was sharing with the twins, took out a file folder from her trunk and walked back downstairs, into the study. She sat down on one of the surprisingly comfortable couches which had probably been added by Dumbledore, put on her rectangular and green-rimmed reading glasses, and opened up the folder. She cringed as she stared down at the mountain of paperwork that strung from the folder and quickly got down on her hands and knees to collect the pages which had flown across the room. She placed them in a pile on top of the coffee table while cursing Kingsley for not telling her that he had placed a charm on the folder.

Draco's sneer deepened upon hearing the voice.

Not now...

His gunmetal grey eyes focused on the source of the voice and he shrugged and forced his posture into complete relaxation. "Seeing as how I got here on time and earlier than any of you did, I actually don't know who they are. They are probably new recruits seeing how they reacted to the the proceedings." His drawl held an undercurrent of evil amusement and he laughed. "Weak stomachs, the lot of them. They almost lost the contents of their stomachs on my shoes." His tone was condescending and he shook his head.

"On the topic of today's meeting, how did YOUR last mission go?" He drawled and regarded the other DE.

Guin stared at Ron and her face almost went red but not from embarrasment, from rage. "No one.And...nothing." She snaped at poor Ron. Guin didn't mean to be mean but everytime she thought of what they had done she got angery. Maybe one day she'd get over it but right now distance from those two, distance from them doing anything was what she wanted.

Guin remembered what George said about Fred and almost snorted, her and Fred? Please. George....he was...Guin didn't know what to think as she sipped her juice again.

George considered carefully their position as Fred led them to a far corner. Draco Malfoy, by all accounts a Death Eater, was giving them advice about getting out of there. Either it was some sort of complex trick that even his fine Weasley mind couldn't fathom, or Malfoy wasn't all he seemed and the twins should get themselves out. If Malfoy spotted them so easily, someone else might as well. Hiding in the graveyard instead of in a room of people seemed a lot safer to George at that moment. Fred might scoff, but they'd do Alicia's memory no good if they died as well. George tugged on Fred's sleeve, nodding towards the door Draco had indicated.

Hermione bit her lip. She really wanted to do something fun,b ut if it was anything against Dumbledore's orders, not only could it get them in trouble, if could endanger them. "What do you have in mind?" She asked Ginny.

Ginny frowned and thought for a moment. "Bah... I don't know. Let's pick the recipient of our prank first, and then we'll know how to target them better." Ginny quickly thought through everyone in the house. "Any suggestions?"

Dani wandered out of her room in midafternoon. The day was getting long, and she'd dozed a bit after discovering all the wonderful little girl intricacies of her room. But now she was hungry, and her mother was fast asleep on her bed. Her poor mum, who had to work into the night and didn't get to sleep until morning. Dani knew better than to wake up a grown-up for something as silly as food. She'd just have to go and fetch it herself. Maybe she could even bring back some for Mum!

At the bottom of the tower stairs, Dani stood in indecision. Was it a right turn or a left turn? She couldn't decide, so opted for right because she liked the portrait at the end of that hallway and wanted to examine it. Imagine her surprise when the well-dressed woman in the picture offered her directions to the kitchen. The man in the portrait argued with her, and Dani left the two of them in high spirits.

A few twists and turns later, Dani realized she was hopelessly lost. It didn't concern her too much because, first, she was seeing so many interesting things, and second, she knew someone would come and find her eventually. She was staring at a suit of armor and trying to make it talk to her when a ghost bounced down the hallway. Dani thought he was a ghost, although he wasn't dressed the way she thought one would be... all colorful and vulgur.

"Well," the nasal voice was loud in the hallway. "What have we here? A wee little witchy..."

"I am a witch!" Dani replied proudly. "And you're a ghost, aren't you?"

"The wee witchy is correct. And for that, she gets a reward..." Peeves knocked over the suit of armor, the heavy metal weaponry barely missing the small girl. He placed the helmet on his head, making the trap open and shut like a giant mouth. "I wonder what wee witchies taste like..." He raced at her, and Dani took off down the hallway with a screech.

Peeves lost track of Dani somewhere in the dungeons, when Filch rounded a corner and caught the poltergeist's attention. Dani disappeared down a dark corridor, teh sounds of a violent brawl behind her. She tripped on the uneven flagstone floor and lay where she fell, her breath coming out in an uneven hitch as she sobbed out her fear. She wanted her mum. She wanted Professor Snape. She hated it here.

After escorting Bella back to her husband, Snape silently slipped out of the mausoleum. He removed his mask just before he apparated to the edge of the Hogwarts grounds. He walked quickly back up to the castle and made his way toward the dungeons. He needed a good long bath and some of his special potion. But, it didn't look like he would be getting it.

As he approached the door leading to his quarters, Snape spotted the body of a small girl lying prone on the floor in front of his door. She appeared to be sobbing and as he came closer, he could hear her uneven breaths. "Miss Sinistra?" he addressed her as he came up beside her.

Dani scrambled to her feet and somehow managed to climb up Snape and into his arms. She sobbed out an abbreviated version of events, wetting the front of his robes. "I want to go home. I want to go home," she concluded between sobs.

Snape was shocked when the girl jumped up and climbed up him. He had no choice but to wrap his arms around her as she blubbered out some story about a ghost, probably Peeves, and dampened the shoulder of his robes. That was when he realized his robes were probably soiled. Sighing as the girl continued to repeat that she wanted to go home, he ran a finger down the door as he whispered, "Poena!"

He pressed on the latch and walked into his quarters, carrying the girl in with him.

Dani clung to Professor Snape as he moved her into a darkened room near where she had fallen. Being held was calming her a bit, and Dani knew she was really too big to be carried, but she didn't care. She twined her fingers tighter into a grip on the robes and sniffled pathetically. "I want my mum. I want to go home. Don't leave me."

"Well, it seems you won't be sorted to Gryffindor at all," he joked. "Peeves is always trying to sabotage the student body."

Snape carried her over to his chair and sat down with her, grateful that he wouldn't have to support her weight against gravity any longer. "Now, if I know Tara, she's probably still asleep so, you'll just have to deal with me. Are you still hungry?"

Dani curled up in Snape's lap, her head on his shoulder and her still-wet midnight eyes taking him in solemnly. After a few moments, she nodded her head almost without detection, tightening her grip on him as she did so. "Will he come back? He wanted to eat me!"

Snape couldn't help but laugh. "Peeves can't eat you. He just enjoys his practical jokes. I'll speak with him and try to see that he doesn't harrass you again. Perhaps I'll speak with the Bloody Baron, as well."

Snape smoothed back the hair which was plastered to her face with tears. "I seem to recall you mentioning something about being hungry. Would you like something to eat?" he asked.

Dani nodded hesitantly. "I'm still hungry," she admitted, ashamed at crying and carrying on, but not yet ready to give up her place in his lap. "We could have the Oompa... the house elves bring it to us." She snuggled against him and looked on his profile with serious eyes. "I... are you... can I ask you a question, Professor?"

Snape was about to draw his wand to summon a sheet of parchment and quill to write their request and floo it to the kitchens when she cuddled up to him and looked up. "You can ask me anything you like, though I may not be able to answer," he replied to her question, curious as to what she would ask.

Dani stared at Snape's profile again for several long moments before voicing her question. "Are you my... are you my father?" His face didn't seem to resemble hers much, but Dani knew now how much she looked like her mother. There were kids who looked less like their fathers than Dani looked like Snape. And besides that, she wanted him to be. And sometimes, he and her mum looked at each other...

Snape looked down at her face and could see what looked like hope in her eyes. Surely she couldn't actually want for him to be her father. "No, I am not your father," he solemnly replied.

Dani's small face fell and she bit her lip. "Well, I have one somewhere. Everyone has a father, even if they don't look like them or they don't want to see them. Alanna used to tell me stories about my terrible father who didn't want a baby so he left us, but that was probably a lie. Do you know him? Do you know anyting about him?"

"No, I don't know your father," Snape said, amazed at how comfortable he was starting to feel around the child. "But, from what I've gathered, this Alanna was not lying about him."

He withdrew his wand after that and summoned the parchment and quill to himself, writing out a lunch order. He tipped a bit of the floo powder into the fire by floating the jar and then, banished the parchment into the fire. "Hogwarts Kitchens," he said before turning back to Danika.

"He didn't want me either?" Dani was beginning to think there was something terminally wrong with her. "I was kind of hoping he was being wrongly imprisoned or killed while trying to save me from pirates..." She looked up at Snape sheepishly. "Sometimes I have an 'overactive imagination,'" she admitted.

The other DE seemed to be satisfied with the answer and the tone had been more curious than anything else. After a few moments, Draco took his leave and was getting ready to slip out of the mausoleum when one of the elder members approached him with a folder of parchment sheets.

"There are still debts to be taken care of, Malfoy. I trust you will see to it." The baritone voice spat out.

Draco sneered and bit out, "My father's death isn't enough for you? He was the DE's greatest supporter." A tone of bitterness was in his voice - a bitterness from the let-down he had experienced from his father and bitterness over his death.

"And traitor." The voice cackled.

"He was cursed, Merlin knows how many bloody times! What do you expect?" He shot back, his fury rising by the minute. In truth, he honestly had no idea where his father's alliances had been at the end and his brief stint at St. Mungo's had wiped most if not all of his memories of that time.

"He was also one of our greatest wizards," an ominious voice cut in smoothly. The statement left an unasked question hanging in the air, but Draco pretended to not notice it.

"... Yes, My Lord." He bent his head slightly.

"Now then. I am sure you will take care of this little matter won't you?" The Dark Lord's voice oozed a superficial... congeniality. It crackled with an air of danger and the hairs on the back of his neck stood up.

"Of course, My Lord." Draco fought to keep the sneer out of his voice.

"Good. I look forward to your attendance at the next meeting." The Dark Lord's face broke into a sinister smile and Draco nearly choked at the undercurrent of danger he felt radiating from the dark wizard.

The Dark Lord left to attend to some other function and Draco slipped out of the mausoleum and into the cemetery.

His mind shielding was weakening at a rapid pace and he barely managed to disapparate out of the cemetery and back to the outskirts of the school grounds before they all but gave way.

He half ran half stumbled back to the school, nearly blinded in a sudden moment of intense fear and anxiety, and once inside the castle, he fell to his knees on the floor and silently wailed as the last shreds of self control were ripped free.
