After Ginny finishes her final year at Hogwarts, she's stunned to learn that Harry, who's been out of school a year, is engaged. Not wanting to return to the Burrow, which will be full of wedding planning and activity, Ginny escapes to Diagon Alley for a bit of independent living. The twins kindly take Ginny in and offer her a job, and she drags Neville and Luna along as flatmates. Who knows what will happen now that they are living independently?

This is a VERY loose storyline so far, but we want to have the chance to explore these characters as rising adults. I have all of the main characters filled at this point. If you are interested, go ahead and post your character idea. To be honest, I'd prefer HP characters (but not necesarily HRH) rather than made-ups... although a quality made-up is always welcome. If I don't feel your character will add to the story, I probably won't say yes. Also, we're quite serious about RPing, so if you aren't on at night EST, CST, or you will only post very sporadically, don't bother. This is advanced RPing, so YES, your posts need to be longer and more detailed and we DO care about your spelling and grammar.

Dani ran rather than walked across the store, missing the cringe on the clerk's face. "Mum! Mum!" she called, pulling on Tara's arm and turning her about. "Look at my robe, Mum. Professor Snape picked it out. It's the most beautiful robe in the whole store." She looked up at her mother egerly, hungry for her approval.

Tara put her hand on Dani's face, feeling the silky softness of her cheek before she stroked the fabric with light fingers. "You look very beautiful, Dani. I guess Professor Snape is trying to recruit you for Slytherin at an early age. Go and have the man take it in a bit in the shoulders and try on some black ones. You can't wear this every day." Her heart lightened at the look of rapture on Dani's face as she raced back to Snape. She supposed she could pay for it with some sort of credit. Afterall, she had a very credible job. Tara went to the counter to discuss it.

"Mum's going to buy it for me!" Dani announced happily as the man resumed working on her fitting. "We should make her buy some too. There are some blue ones with stars and..." Dani chattered happily away while the man worked.

Harry winced and rubbed the side of his head where Tonks had hit him. Then he shrugged and watched Tonks prepare more food. He turned back to Ginny, "So... you never answered my question... did you sleep well?"

Snape glanced over to where Dani had pointed out the blue robes. He leaned toward the clerk. "I'll take those over there, as well. Just wrap them up for me, she can come back for a fitting if you can't get the adjustments correct just by sight. Include the girl's with my purchase," he whispered, shrugging off the robes he was trying on, revealing his black pants, crisp white shirt, and back vest beneath. "I'll take these as well."

Snape stepped off of the platform and began to walk toward the counter in order to wait and settle his account.

Tara was not getting very far in her arguments with the man at the check out. He wanted proof of this and identification of that, and Tara was considering poking her wand up his nose and trying out some spells. "Look, I don't see why you can't just..." Snape approached the counter at that point, and Tara turned to him, shame coloring her face. "I'm... checking out," she explained lamely. "Did you find something?"

"Yes, I found a few things. They are being readied now," he replied to Tara before approaching the clerk behind the counter.

He turned back to Tara before addressing the wizard behind the counter. "Perhaps you should go and help Dani with her robes. I think she's about done," he said, discreetly placing a sizable stack of galleons behind him on the counter.

Ginny chewed her last bite and pushed the remaining pancake in front of Harry, offering the food to him. "I slept fairly well. None of my roommates snore. Not so with you... I've heard Ron. I guess the question is really how did YOU sleep?" She reached over and held his free hand, giving it a squeeze.

Tara looked up into Snape's face uncertainly before she cast a death-stare look at the clerk that said quite clearly she wasn't through with him yet. Marching over to Dani's side, she directed the last few alterations in a sharp tone. Dani peered at her apprehensively, and Tara softened. "Are you ready to go, darling?" Dani grimaced at the black robes she was currently wearing before nodding. "We'll go see the store Professor Snape needs to visit next. That'll be fun." Tara firmed her resolve to spend no more money for the rest of the day as they returned to Snape's side.

Fred and George followed the dots along from the back alley. "They've stopped..."Fred said pointing to the map. "Madam Malkin's.." Fred pulled up a crate and sat down on it. But, after a few seconds it broke easily with his weight. So, now Fred sat, legs draped over the edges, butt on the ground in a wooden crate. "And now....we wait..."he said ingnoring the fact that he looked like a fool in the crate.

Snape took a bag from the clerk which contained the green robe for Dani, the blue for Tara, and the black for himsel and then, handed the other bag, containing the rest of Dani's robes to Tara. "We can go now, if you like," he said. "I need to stop by the apothecary."

Tara looked at the clerk and at Snape in confusion. "But... I haven't paid yet." She took the bag as it was handed to her and laid the bag of galleons on the counter.

Snape picked up the bag of galleons and handed it back to Tara. "It's paid for," he said, trying not to make a big deal of it as he attempted to usher them quickly out the door.

Tara followed behind Snape, her mind reeling. What had just happened here? Finally, her fine Ravenclaw mind caught up with the situation, and she rushed to walk at his side. His steps were long, and she knew he was trying to avoid this conversation. Looking over her shoulder, she found that Draco was walking with Dani, and she tugged on Snape's elbow. "You... don't... I..." She stopped him and stomped her foot, frustrated at how inept she was at speaking. "Don't pity me, Severus. I can make my own mistakes."

Snape finally relented to her tugging on his sleeve and stopped. She stomped her foot, catching his boot, but he barely felt it. He narrowed his eyes at her words. "I do not pity you, Sitara," he replied, cooly, casting a glance behind them at the young girl swinging Malfoy's arm.

He was trying to think of something else to say as he turned his head back to her. Instead of continuing their conversation, however, he cursed under his breath and shook his head. "I have to go," he said, extending the two bags he was carrying toward Tara. "Would you mind taking these back to the castle with you? Just be careful with that book. Take it back to Hogwarts as soon as you can and lock it up so no one can unwittingly peruse its pages."

Tara stared at Snape. He always managed to twist her up so that she didn't know how she felt. A minute ago she'd been indignant, and now she wanted to hide him away from Voldemort. Surely that was the reason to go, and he was entrusting her with soemthing precious and dangerous. She looked at Dani, who was talking with big eyes to Draco, who must also be leaving them.

Tara put her hand over the spot on his arm where the Dark Mark lay. She'd studied it before, when she lay in his arms, and she knew its exact location. "Be safe," she murmured before calling out to Dani to join her.

He nodded in reply, feeling her gentle touch despite the burning of the mark. He looked back at Draco and could tell that he had felt the summons, as well. With a last glance at Tara, he swept off toward Knockturn Alley where he wished to speak with Draco to find out what the boy... young man had decided to do before he apparated to the meeting place.

Tara leaned down and spoke quietly with Dani, letting her know that their day at Diagon Alley was now cut short and they would go back and relax at Hogwarts for the rest of the afternoon. Dani was a bit tired anyway, and she readily agreed to the plan.

Once back at Hogwarts, Tara left Dani to play in her room while she examined the two bags. He'd told her to lock up the book. Only one of the bags felt like a book, and Tara covered it with parchments in her desk and locked the drawer. It wasn't the safest place, but no one would think to look for Severus's book in the Astronomy Tower, and hopefully he'd retrieve it very soon. The other bag was soft, and Tara assumed it contained the robes Severus had purchased. All his clothing was the same - high quality black robes with some attention to detail. He hadn't even worn it yet, so she didn't have any desire to pull it out and enjoy his scent. Tara shook her head at that thought and left the bag on her desk, moving to some star charts for distraction.

Tonks giggled a little at the conversation of people snoring. She couldn't remember either of the twins snoring but, then again, she had a knack for knowing when she could sleep soundly (like she had the previous night) and when she needed to wake at the slightest sound (a good trait in an auror).

Having finished cooking up the pancakes, Tonks walked over with two plates, one for herself and one for Harry. "There ya go, Harry," she said, cheerfully, placing a plate in front of Harry before sitting down beside them with her now short and vibrantly green hair.

"Oh, I slept fine... but you're right... Ron DOES snore..." He began to eat the pancakes on the plate in front pf him and finished up with the one Ginny had given him. "Thanks, Tonks, that was great."

Draco was talking to Dani when he winced as a sharp twinge of pain shot through him. He shot a glance at his former HoH, who had also shot a look at him, and knew that he had felt it as well.

He murmured to Dani that he needed to run and that she should take care of herself and read the new books she had acquired. Before he left their company, he slipped in a new set of notebooks for her to write and draw in while she wasn't looking.

With a wave and a grin, he headed to Knockturn Alley after Snape.

When they reached a point where they could talk, Snape turned to find Draco close behind him. "Well? What have you decided? Are you coming or staying? Either way, I support your decision but, if you are not coming, I suggest you head back to Hogwarts as quick as possible as you will be missed," Snape said in a low whisper.

Draco swallowed and tilted his chin up and locked gazes with the Potions master. "I'll be attending also. It will look suspicious if I don't and I am still trusted... more or less." He nodded, his grey eyes hardening to a steel gunmetal silver as he mentally prepared himself for the meeting.

Snape simply nodded in response to Draco, his own eyes draining of any lingering emotion. "I don't recall you being at the last summons," he said quietly. "We've changed locations again. You'll need to apparate somewhere around Hogsmeade and walk up down to the old cemetary. The meeting will be in one of the old mausoleums."

After a nod of understanding from Malfoy, Snape disapparated.

Draco nodded at his former HoH's instructions and after gathering his cloak around him tighter, he braced himself and disapparated after Snape.

George was idly flipping his wand and catching it in midair. It was a trick he'd been working on for quite a while, ending in a spelled bouquet of flowers or something or other coming from his wand just as his wand hand returned to casting position. Fred sat on the ground surrounded by about a dozen bouquets as well as three small birds, a squirrel and a goldfish. The goldfish had been an accident, of course. He glanced down at the map and nearly dropped his wand.

"FRED! He's moving!" Without another word, George grabbed up the map and took off down the alleyway, trusting Fred to follow. They turned down Knockturn Alley and George saw that the two men were tucked into a small bend in the alley, discretely placed so noone would notice them. He motioned for silence, earning an eyeroll from Fred, and moved to the other side of a nearby display cart. Tossing the Extendable Ears, the two boys managed to hear Snape's directions just in time. The Potions Master disapparated a moment later. "Ready?" George asked quietly of his twin.

"Of course I'm ready. See you on the far side of that cementary." And Fred disapparated right after a wave to George. It seemed the "crack" was much louder than he had remembered, he ducked down quick and scanned the area. The cementary was just over a hill ahead, and Fred just knew they had to hear the crack of him and George arriving...but maybe the arrival of all the others would over shadow the noise. Fred cringed when George appeared right after him, his "crack" seeming even louder. His nerves were definantly wearing on him.
