After Ginny finishes her final year at Hogwarts, she's stunned to learn that Harry, who's been out of school a year, is engaged. Not wanting to return to the Burrow, which will be full of wedding planning and activity, Ginny escapes to Diagon Alley for a bit of independent living. The twins kindly take Ginny in and offer her a job, and she drags Neville and Luna along as flatmates. Who knows what will happen now that they are living independently?

This is a VERY loose storyline so far, but we want to have the chance to explore these characters as rising adults. I have all of the main characters filled at this point. If you are interested, go ahead and post your character idea. To be honest, I'd prefer HP characters (but not necesarily HRH) rather than made-ups... although a quality made-up is always welcome. If I don't feel your character will add to the story, I probably won't say yes. Also, we're quite serious about RPing, so if you aren't on at night EST, CST, or you will only post very sporadically, don't bother. This is advanced RPing, so YES, your posts need to be longer and more detailed and we DO care about your spelling and grammar.

"Ginny!" Harry exclaimed, rushing toward Ginny and embracing her in a hug. The knot in his stomache unwound and he breathed a sigh of relief. Of course, having Dumbledore tell them made him confident that she was fine, but physically seeing her alive and okay seemed to make everything alright.

Ginny was swept into a hug by Harry, and once her feet were on the floor again, she put her hands on both sides of his face and drew his face to hers. She kissed him soundly, not caring that Dumbledore was standing right there or that her parents might wander by the room. Especially not caring that the twins were there, glaring away at her. She let Harry go, but stayed in the confines of his embrace. "I'm sorry," she addressed the room. "I shouldn't have gone out of the flat. I was being a brat, and this is all my fault."

When Draco finally woke up, he was in the Hospital Wing in... Hogwarts?

"What the bloody hell am I doing here?!" He looked around. "Madam Pomfrey? Anyone?"

There was no answer.

He kicked back the covers and tried to get out of bed and almost fell out head first. His head throbbed in pain as if an anvil had hit him and he flopped back against the pillow, feeling slightly off-colour and woozy.

A few minutes passed and he managed to orient himself enough so that he could stand up without feeling like he was upside down.

He headed out the infirmary and looked around.

"What am I doing here? The last I looked..." He groaned and threw his hands in the air.

"This is just brilliant! Just bloody brilliant!"

Draco had barely made it through the infirmary door before Poppy Pomfrey bustled out of her office. "MISTER Malfoy!" Her voice was sharp and severe. He froze. "Just what do you think you are doing? Out of bed? Walking about?" She sped to his side and propelled him back to his bed. "Do not make me get out my sticking charms. You've got quite a nasty head wound and it needs proper time to heal."

"M... Madam Pomfrey!" Draco stuttered. "How do you do!" He threw over his shoulder as he was being shooed back to his bed.

He sat there for a moment, entirely too confused and stunned. His eyebrows knitted in confusion and he flopped backwards, wincing at his headache. "Madam Pomfrey... what... happened? How did I end up HERE?" He looked up at the nurse who was glowering at him, waving her wand as if she was about to perform a sticking charm on him if he so much as dared to move a muscle.

Poppy's expression softened a bit as she saw Draco wince in pain. It seemed that she hadn't heard his questions when she moved over to her supply cabinet and poked about for a few long moments. Finding the pain relief potion she preferred, Poppy strolled back to Draco's side. "I want you to sleep some more," she said, pouring a dose of the potion into a cup of water on the nightstand. "But natural sleep... so this will just dull your pain." She handed him the cup and looked at him severely, before relenting. "There was a Death Eater attack on Diagon Alley, and a curse that missed Miss Weasley crumbled some bricks onto your head. She apparated here and sought help for you." Poppy couldn't disguise the curiosity in her eyes, both over what Draco's role in that attack had been and why the Weasley girl would help him.

"No wonder I feel like a hippogryff sat on my head." Draco groused and drank some water.

He didn't ask any more questions and he pretended not to notice Madam Pomfrey's curious eyes on him.

"Guess she didn't think I was that evil," he muttered in his head.

He wrinkled his nose at the medicated water and he took the glass and looked at it and sipped it.

Poppy watched Draco a moment longer, and when he made no move to offer information, she turned back to her cabinet. She had been intending to inventory today, before this emergency arose. Summers were slow, but she wanted to let Severus know what potions she needed soon. "If you need anything, Mr. Malfoy, let me know. I suspect you can go home later this evening."

"Thank you." Draco nodded and settled lower into the bed.

Actually, he felt safer here at school rather than at "home". But it wasn't as if he would tell that to anyone.

He shivered and pulled the blanket up higher and closed his eyes.

Harry was somewhat surprised that Ginny was bold enough to kiss him like that in front of Professor Dumbledore and her two brothers, but when she pulled away, he kept a tight hold on her. "But you're safe, and that's what matters." He looked towards Fred and George and gave them meaningful glances, hoping they would take in what he just said and not attempt to murder their little sister.

Fred rolled his eyes at Harry and Ginny's little show. Ginny could of been killed or captured or could of gotten any one of them killed as well, and all she could do was make out with Harry and say a little sorry. Fred and George by all means weren't the maturist of all people, but this was ridiculous. Disgusted, Fred walked past Ginny and Harry and up the stairs.

When Fred left the kitchen, Hermione, without much thinking, followed him out of the room and up the stairs. She caught up with him about midway on the stairs. "What's wrong?" She asked him, oblivious to why he had left.

Fred plopped down on his bed, immediatley regretting it though as the sharp pains from his wound flared again. He had to admit that he was more than happy that Ginny was alright, but his disappointment in her was all he could focus on at the moment.

Fred was pleasantly surprised to find Hermione had followed him up. He sat up and beckoned her over to his bed. He stared at her when she asked what was wrong. Wasn't that obvious? Fred loved her innocence, and said, "Don't worry about it...It's nothing but a sibling problem." Fred fluffed his pillow and laid back down, putting one leg over the other. "Do you know how long it's been since George and I invented something? I think I'm having withdrawls."

Hermione walked over to the bed and sat timidly on the edge. She assumed the sibling problem he mentioned was Ginny. It had to be strange to see your little sister kissing someone, she reasoned especially if there were others standing right there.

"Well, not inventing isn't necessarly bad," Hermione said, looking at Fred. "You have time to make improvements on other things. That map you showed me the other day was something. I'm not sure if I would know how to do that. You are really clever, Fred, I'm sure you've just hit a blank spot when it comes to inventing. But... you should get back to it soon. Like I said, you're very clever."

Ginny watched Fred leave with some confusion. She slipped from Harry's embrace, giving him an apologetic look and pursing her lips a bit to send him a quiet, long-distance kiss. She crossed the room and broke up George's sullen mood by slipping her arms around his waist. "I'm sorry I made you worry. You know how I am... I'll listen to you next time."

"Yes... well," George wrapped his little sister in a crushing embrace. "I'm glad you're safe, Gin. I hate to think of anything happening to you. I want to protect you, and I thought I had failed."

Ginny kissed his cheek and patted his arm on her shoulder. "You can't take care of someone who won't let you. I'm sorry." She gave him a look to tell him she needed to speak to Fred, and his arms fell back to his sides. Ginny climbed the stairs, not knowing if George or Harry intended to follow her. Outside the twins' room, she knocked on the door. "Fred?"

"George and I are bloody brilliant aren't we? But, all this drama in mine and George's usually drama-free lives, has really put a damper in the creative department. But tha..."Fred was interupted by a knock at the door, and what he was sure was Ginny's voice. Fred rolled his eyes, "Come in if you must...I'm kinda busy though,"he lied.

Ginny entered the room and found Fred and Hermione sitting together on one of the beds. He didn't look busy, but he also didn't sound happy, so she supposed he was just trying to get rid of her. "Fred... I know you're angry with me. You have every reason to be. I just... I was being a baby because I didn't want you guys to treat me like a kid. In the end, I ended up acting like one. I'm sorry I scared you and I'm sorry that I went out on that street." Her chin trembled, but she stayed by the door. Fred usually couldn't deny her anything but that was true of all her brothers. Most of them were a bit easier to push about then Fred, however.

"Fred sat up and looked at his younger sister more closely. She was sincere, he could see it. But that just wasn't good enough...but Fred couldn't stand to see her little chin quiver. He sighed loudly, " I know you're sorry Ginns, but...you were so out of line it's not even funny. I specifically told you to stay put. You know Ginns, I was truly wasn't treating you like a kid, I was treating you like somebody I loved and somebody I wanted to keep around for a few more years. But whatever, Ginns. Don't you have a boyfriend to go and kiss all over?" Fred shrugged and laid back down, sliding his arms behind his head and looking up at the ceiling.

Ginny launched herself from the doorway, landing on the bed and sprawling across her older brother. "Oh, come off it, Fred. You can't be mad at me kissing Harry when you want me to be happy. And I said I was sorry. What else do you want me to do? Do you want me to beg?" She bounced a bit, pushing Fred into the bed. "I can beg. Please, Fred. Pleeeeeeease, Fred. Don't be angry with me." She batted her eyes at him ridiculously.

Fred took his hands out from behind his head and squeezed his Ginny. It was the first time she had hugged him in such a long time. "You're such a knuckle-head Ginn....and you know what knuckle-heads get?"he asked raising her up a bit by the shoulders.."Nuggies!" ANd Fred wrapped one arm around her head and the other hand balled up, rubbing the top of Ginny's head with his knuckles. She wiggled and giggled and tried to get away, but Fred held tight giving her what she deserved, laughing the whole time.

Hermione watched Fred and Ginny with interest, finding it positively adorable when they sort of made up. She had always wanted a sibling who she got to have fun with like they did. She smiled, watching them.

Ginny giggled and tried to free herself. When she realized it was futile, she shrieked out George's name, hoping he would come to her aid. Ginny tickled Fred back as best she could, but Fred had her pinned beneath his greater bulk. When George appeared in the doorway, he was frowning.

George tried to suppress a grin at the sight of Fred tickling Ginny, but first he had to chastise them. "You guys are being too loud. Mrs. Black's portrait woke up." They all realized they could hear her screaming downstairs. "I suppose I'll have to punish you," he laughed, approaching the bed, wiggling his fingers as if to tickle them both.

A short laugh from Hermione drew her attention to Ginny. "I'm sorry, Mione. Did you fancy a roll with Fred as well?" Ginny squealed loudly when Fred poked her ribs for her comment.

Hermione stared at Ginny, thinking for a second that maybe she had imagined what had come out of the girl's mouth. When she realized that she hadn't imagined it, she blushed deeply and tried to talk. "I... well... no... I don't..." She didn't finish and looked down at her hands in her lap.

Snape apparated back to Hogsmeade and slowly walked back to the castle. It wasn't quite dark, yet but, he didn't mind walking in the twilight. As he opened the oak door, he looked up into the pink and purple sky and thought about Tara. This would be about the time of day he suspected she would waken... He shook his head of these thoughts; they were to have a physical relationship only and thinking of her personal life would do him no good.

Instead of going down to the dungeons and his quarters, he walked up to the Hospital Wing to check on Malfoy. Snape sat down in a chair beside the bed. "How are you feeling?" he asked, hoping to get past these niceties as quickly as possible and get down to what had transpired earlier that day.

George looked startled and as if was going to speak, but Ginny pulled him down on the other side of her, so that all three were laying on Fred's bed now. The three of them grappled for a minute before Ginny shouted, "Enough! I want to talk to Hermione." The boys settled down and Ginny leaned over, putting her elbow right in Fred's stomach.

"Are you certain, Mione? Look how much fun we're having. You're like a Weasley anyway..." Ginny shoved her rear end into George, who rolled over a bit. "Come on, Fred. Budge over." She yanked him towards her before leaning even farther over Fred and grabbing Hermione's arm. With a tug, the girl was tumbled onto the pile. "There. Isn't this lovely?"
