After Ginny finishes her final year at Hogwarts, she's stunned to learn that Harry, who's been out of school a year, is engaged. Not wanting to return to the Burrow, which will be full of wedding planning and activity, Ginny escapes to Diagon Alley for a bit of independent living. The twins kindly take Ginny in and offer her a job, and she drags Neville and Luna along as flatmates. Who knows what will happen now that they are living independently?

This is a VERY loose storyline so far, but we want to have the chance to explore these characters as rising adults. I have all of the main characters filled at this point. If you are interested, go ahead and post your character idea. To be honest, I'd prefer HP characters (but not necesarily HRH) rather than made-ups... although a quality made-up is always welcome. If I don't feel your character will add to the story, I probably won't say yes. Also, we're quite serious about RPing, so if you aren't on at night EST, CST, or you will only post very sporadically, don't bother. This is advanced RPing, so YES, your posts need to be longer and more detailed and we DO care about your spelling and grammar.

He closed his eyes as he felt her kisses and the sensation of her fingers brushing his partially bared chest as she fumbled with the buttons on his robe and shirt. Snape slipped his hand around her neck and began to fumble with her buttons when Dumbledore's face appeared in the fire and cleared his throat.

Horrified for being caught with another professor in his lap by the Headmaster, like being a student all over again. His cheeks flushed slightly and he gently placed Tara on the couch and walked over to the grate, fumbling to button his shirt back up before he reached it.

Tara pulled her knees up and buried her face in her robe. She wondered if she was quite deep enough in the heavy black material to completely obscure her or if Dumbledore was already quite aware of who she was and what she had been doing just moments before. Probably the latter; Dumbledore was quite canny. The logical part of her brain piped in that really his timing was impeccable. If he had appeared any later, he would have received much more than he bargained for. Besides, Tara had only last night realized she was very much intrigued with the Potions professor. They may have been moving a bit fast. She continued to bury her face in her robes.

"Severus, that is unnecessary," Dumbledore chuckled. "Both you and Professor Sinistra are perfectly capable of making your own decisions. It is I who should be embarrassed. I should have come down personally in case you had company."

Dumbledore's eyes twinkled. He was glad those two had finally found one another. "If you don't have time now, I can speak with you later. I assume that since you did not alert me last night or first thing this morning, there is no new pressing business?" he asked.

Snape frowned and reprimanded himself for forgetting to check-in. "They are still staking out the Weasley shop, a few more raids on small muggle villages for training new recruits, but, there's been no mention of further progress on the special attack," he said, being vague enough that, should Tara overhear, she would not be able to understand what was happening but, descriptive enough that Dumbledore would know what he was speaking about.

Tara propped her chin on her knees, wrapping her arms around them. She offered a small smile and waved her fingers weakly at Dumbledore, who, as she suspected, really didn't seem at all surprised to see her there. If she kept up this behavior, there was no way he would consider letting her bring Dani to live with her eventually. She needed decorum and... what was Snape saying?

"Excuse me, Headmaster," Tara hated herself for interrupting, but she couldn't seem to help herself. "Don't you think the Weasley twins should be notified that their shop is being watched? If I remember them as well as I think I do, if they aren't told specifically not to do something, they probably will, and if I were them, I'd want to go back and check on my place of business as soon as I could."

Dumbledore looked over Snape's shoulder to Tara. he smiled at her. "Actually, I believe telling the twins not to go back there would have precisely the same effect on not telling them... none," he laughed. "But, you are correct, they need to be informed, at least for young Miss Weasley's sake. Of course, we have order members stationed in and around the shop as well, just in case.

"Now, Severus," he said, studying the younger wizard with a concerned and discerning eye. "I believe you deserve a well-earned rest."

He looked over his shoulder once again. "Good day to you, Sintara," he said, eyes sparkling as he winked at Severus and dissappeared from the fire.

"I don't care if it's silly or not. You're doing it. Not only for your safety but for mine and George's personal pleasure." Fred disappeared for a second back to his room, and reappeared carrying two of his new "facial hair" inventions. He handed the wooly black one to Harry, and the thin red goatee to Ginny. "I've charmed not too change but every hour or so, so they'll be fine....George, you have any suggestions?" he asked stepping back to observe Harry and Ginny.

Harry gave a look to Ginny, trying to get across to her that he wasn't happy about this plan. "Gin... just go along with it, the quicker we get it done, the quicker it's over." He was wondering how he would be able to see without his glasses and putting on the fake facial hair glumly.

Hermione was still in the drawing room, panicking over how she would get them all to stay home. Going out was extremely dangerous. And especially at this time. She was starting to wonder how the lot of them graduated from Hogwarts being as thick as they were being right now.

Tara watched as Dumbledore disappeared from the fire, but she made no movement other than her eyes. Despite Dumbledore's apparent approval, she was still embarrassed. She cast an eye on Snape, who also seemed a bit uncomfortable. In her passion before, she hadn't seen how tired he was. "You ARE tired," she murmured, shaking her head at her selfishness.

Snape waved a hand and sat back down on the sofa. "Perhaps a little but, I'm perfectly capable of functioning and, have done so with little to no sleep at all in the past," he said.

He sighed and shut his eyes, despite his insistance that he was capable of functioning normally.

"I guess its as good as we can get," George said with a sigh, propelling Harry and Ginny out the door and down the staircase. In the entryway, he paused and turned on the two of them. "Nothing stupid, okay? I'm beginning to regret this whole endeavor, but I have a feeling you'd be safer with us than without us, and you might want to go out on your own sometime. Just don't do that, and Fred and I will take you out anytime you want." Ginny snorted and he gave her a look before opening the front door. "We'll apparate once we're in the street."

Tara scooted closer to Snape on the couch, still feeling a bit ruffled from their earlier encounter but feeling more maternal and concerned for him than anything else at that moment. His head and shoulders sagged in exhaustion, and she gently reached up and tugged on him. He resisted for a moment, and her voice was gentle as she asked, "Trust me, please."

Fred stayed back. He knew that Hermione would probably be freaking out that they all were leaving. So, just to avoid anymore drama, he grabbed an extra hat, and went back to the drawing room. He went and grabbed Hermione by the hand and pulled her with him to the landing. He paused once they were outside the room, put the hat on her head and nodded towards the door. "Come on....Come with us, Mione." Not waiting for Hermione to make the decision of whether or not she wanted to go, Fred put his hand on the small of her back and guided to where the others were.

Tara was tugging on him but, he wasn't sure why. He just wanted to relax here on the sofa for a moment. But, she was insistant and asking him to trust her so, he allowed himself to be manipulated by her. "What is it?" he asked.

"You're tired," Tara replied simply, pulling Snape so that he was laying on the couch, his head in her lap. She pushed the hair out of his face and stroked his temple. "I'm not. That's actually more sleep than I get in a night, so I'll just stay here until you fall asleep. I have an owl to send, but I want to stay until then."

Snape was going to protest but, the massaging of his temple was so relaxing, that he succumbed to her ministration. He closed his eyes and felt his muscles relax as he instictively began to clear his mind in preparation for sleep. As he drifted off to sleep, he thought how nice it would be to have Tara for a pillow, permanently...

Tara was a bit surprised that Snape gave in so easily, but it pleased her to an unreasonable degree. She continued to stroke his temple even after his breathing evened out, then moved to smoothing the hair away from his face. She couldn't quite figure out why she was so fond of this man all of a sudden, but she was. Finally, she sighed gently and lifted his head, slipping out and laying him out flat on the couch. She trekked to his bed to retrieve a pillow and a blanket, making him as comfortable as possible. Tara watched him sleep for several long moments before she turned and left his quarters, needing to make the long hike to the owlery before she returned to her own tower. Maybe she was more tired than she realized.

His exhaustion overwhelmed him and he fell into a deep sleep, not even feeling when Tara left, replacing her lap with a pillow and covering him with a blanket. Snape's sleep was relatively dreamless except for the visions of Tara which kept creeping their way in.

Hermione was still reluctant to go, but Fred wanted her to. "Just to let you know, I don't think this is a great idea." She let herself be guided to follow the others, not sure of why she was doing this when could get herself and the others killed. Maybe there was something about Fred that made her feel safe.

"It was a great idea, but my stubborn younger half ruined it. Now you lot stay put while George and check out the street first." Fred gave Ginny a warning look for her to stay put, and he and George stepped out into the sunlight. They strolled out to the street, tyring to look inconspicuous. Seeing nothing out of the ordinary, the twins nodded to each other then went back to the door. "Alright, let's go. But let's get out of the street as soon as we can. The sooner we get safely back home, the better I'll feel." Once they all reached the street, Fred gave them all a nod and they apparated back to their Flat in Diagon Alley...

Hermione followed them, still a little apprehensive, but finding herself staying near Fred. They apparated and found themselves in the flat above the Weasley's shop. She looked around awkwardly, wondering what they were actually going to do.

Ginny stomped her foot and moved to the window, although George followed her and quickly pulled her away. "I didn't come out of that dark stuffy house to lurk about in your disgusting flat," Ginny protested loudly. She walked back to the center of the room, shaking off George, who was still trying to follow her. "I'm going to apparate down to the street and go up to Florean's for a bit of ice cream. Come and meet me when you're through."

Tara sat in the owlery for longer than she intended, her quill posed over paper. She wanted to send a note to Dani, as she always did during the course of the week, but her words weren't coming today. She kept thinking about Severus, and Dumbledore, and then Dani, and then Severus again. Would Severus and Dani like each other? Tara fully intended to bring Dani to join her life someday, but she had no idea how Severus figured into her life. Was he long term? Short term? Whatever he was, she was going to have to accept it. She had no right to demand anything from anyone, not with her bringing a child and a host of regrets into any relationship. Perhaps, for professionalism and peace of mind and even safety, she ought to walk away right now. Tara remembered Severus's kisses and caresses and the feelings that had awoken in her - feelings that had been dormant for many years. Perhaps feelings that had always been dormant. Could she give up that? Was it possible for her to become involved with Severus and for her heart not to get involved as well? That certainly seemed like the best situation. Tara grimaced and clutched the quill tighter, a single drop of ink falling onto the parchment.

Snape was sleeping soundly until he rolled in his slumber. The sofa was relatively narrow and fell to the floor. He cursed loudly and sat for a moment with his head in his hands, his elbows rested on his bent knees. He ran his hands through his hair before using the coffee table for leverage as he rose to his feet and walked over to the bed, debating whether or not he should waste away the day sleeping or actually get some work done.

He sat down on the bed and grabbed a book from the bedside table. He tried to read a few paragraphs but, found his concentration was distrupted by thoughts of Tara. Snape placed the book back down and lay on top of the sheets, hands behind his head, thinking. What had happened between them? Was she really attracted to him or was he just convenient?

Finally, Tara scribbled a few hasty, yet heart-felt lines and tied the letter to the owl's leg. He was a well-trained owl, being part of a matched set Tara used specifically for correspondance with her sister. Hokus and Pokus were both small and clever, dropping their letters into the pile of mail in front of the house. One of the birds lived in a small nest in the attic, where Alanna could send an emergency owl if she ever needed to. The woman never had. For the most part, she ignored her sister and pretended the woman didn't send letters so often.

Dearest Dani,

I'm counting down the days, my dear one, until we can go off to Italy. Perhaps I'll mail your mother soon and see if we can't move the date up a bit. I'm tired of the academic grind right now, my only highlight being a new friendship I've struck up with an old colleague. I hope to hear from you soon, my darling.

Tara left the owlery after seeing Hokus fly off until he had disappeared. Her heart was heavy, both with the knowledge that she was still so far from her dearest love and from the fact that any solace she could find in Severus would have to be set aside in favor of a more prudent option.

"Ginny Weasley so help me if you put one foot out that door, I'll...I'll take you right back and hand you over to mother. We didn't have to bring you, now please spare me with your bravery and lack of intelligence. You ARE aware that Luna was killed right outside there, and the murders thought it was you? Or have you already let that detail slip your memory? I'm not kidding around her Ginns. You're staying here. Right here. And that is that." Fred sent Harry and Hermione a pleading look to try and persuade Ginny otherwise.

Why was he torturing himself like this? He should just walk up to her tower right now and find out what she wanted from this relationship. But, he wasn't entirely sure what he wanted out of it either. If they became involved and he was rooted out as a spy for the Dark Lord she could be in very real danger. No, it was best that he forget about her or any other woman. But, it was hopeless, she had awoken something inside of him which refuced to be pushed aside.

Harry looked towards Ginny. "Please, Gin... listen to your brothers, you really shouldn't go out there..." He hoped that somehow he, along with her brothers, could convince her to stay for her own good. She was putting her life at high risk by just leaving Grimmauld place.
