After Ginny finishes her final year at Hogwarts, she's stunned to learn that Harry, who's been out of school a year, is engaged. Not wanting to return to the Burrow, which will be full of wedding planning and activity, Ginny escapes to Diagon Alley for a bit of independent living. The twins kindly take Ginny in and offer her a job, and she drags Neville and Luna along as flatmates. Who knows what will happen now that they are living independently?

This is a VERY loose storyline so far, but we want to have the chance to explore these characters as rising adults. I have all of the main characters filled at this point. If you are interested, go ahead and post your character idea. To be honest, I'd prefer HP characters (but not necesarily HRH) rather than made-ups... although a quality made-up is always welcome. If I don't feel your character will add to the story, I probably won't say yes. Also, we're quite serious about RPing, so if you aren't on at night EST, CST, or you will only post very sporadically, don't bother. This is advanced RPing, so YES, your posts need to be longer and more detailed and we DO care about your spelling and grammar.

Luna woke up early the next morning, took her shower, and ran back to her bedroom to get ready for the day. She didn't normally eat breakfast this early in the day so, she merely dressed in her nicest black robes, tucked her wand behind her ear, took one last look in the mirror, and apparated to the Ministry of Magic. Taking a deep breath, she walked over to the visitor's entrance as she had been instructed.

The bored looking wizard looked up. "Miss Lovegood, I presume?" he asked, holding out his hand. "Wand please."

Luna reached her hand up to her blonde head and removed her wand, handing it to the wizard who weighed it and gave it back. He then handed her a slip of parchment as he stored another one in a file. "You may proceed," he said, not looking at her, just waving her on.

She walked down the hallway to the lift, making her way to the office where she would receive her official badge and start her first day as an intern at the Ministry of Magic.

Ron started the morning by waking up and found himself sitting on the seat where he sat last night to have conversation with Hermione. It seemed that he dozed off on his seat and there he slept. He looked at the old grandfather clock infront of him. He had half-hour to prepare and make his way to work.

He left the living room towards the bathroom. He spent ten minutes inside and went out. He was wearing Fred's old striped shirt and George's jeans. He sighed as he walk towards the kitchen.

George paused as he was looking over the books. Fred wasn't too fond of being in charge of finances, so George would often balance them in the early morning. His eyes rose to meet Harry's, and he grinned like a shark. It took all his focus for his eyes not to dart back to the corner Ginny was working in, her waves of red hair pulled up into a pert ponytail that was visible from where he stood.

"Couldn't say for certain, Harry. It all depends on your business with her. And of course, I'd have to chaperone to be sure you weren't causing her any more emotional trauma. If she were here, of course. I may have let her have a bit of a lie-in today. I can't really recall."

"Why don't you trust me George, you're not the only one who cares about her, you know," Harry said, while trying to look towards the back where he saw a shorter red-head and trying to tell if it was Ginny. When he decided it was, he yelled out, "Hey, Gin!"

Dobby appeared at the shop just after George open up the front door, he walked in and found Ginny working in the back where he normally dusted the shelves, he had seen her in Hogwarts. "Good morning ma'ams, can Dobby help you find something?" he asked having no idea that the twins had hired her to work there.

George rolled his eyes as the source of his amusement moved to the back of the shop. "I'm right here!" he shouted after Harry's retreating back. "Don't you go doing anything you'll regret. I'll call out Charlie on you. And I know where you live!"

Ginny felt grimy already. She put down the cloth and rubbed her hands vigorously across her denim-covered knees. She really was quite fond of Muggle clothing. At the sound of her name, Ginny whipped around, stirring up some dust. She sneezed twice in a row, and by the time she was done, Harry was standing in front of her.

'Great,' she admonished herself quietly. 'He told you he was coming by and you did nothing to prepare for it.' She looked a fright; dust on her face and clothes, her hair pulled into a high, messy ponytail. "Hi," she responded weakly, overcoming both her urge to run away and her desire to kiss him soundly. Instead, she stood awkwardly and watched him.

She turned at the sound of an additional voice. "Dobby, its me. Ginny. I work here now as well."

Hermione woke up early, and had been outside, taking a walk. When she entered the house, she found Ron in the Kitchen, apparently trying to make himself something to eat. She smiled and said, "Why don't you let me make you something, Ron? That way you don't have to hurt your hand anymore than you already have."

Harry smiled. She looked beautiful. He always thought she looked the best when she wasn't even trying. "I'm sorry, Ginny, did you forget I was coming?... I can go home and come back tomorrow if you like." He really didn't want to do this, as the sheer sight of her made him feel beyond bliss. He hoped she wouldn't tell him that she had too much work to do, and to go home. "If not, though, do you think I could take you out to breakfast? I mean, that is if George will let you go. There aren't many people around today..."

Dobby was about to question Ginny about working there when he saw Harry come over, "Harry Potah....Dobby is so glads to see you so soon," he heard him talking to Ginny and added, "don't worry Harry Potah, Dobby will watch the shop sir and ma'am."

Ginny looked doubtfully at the counter, where George was unabashedly watching the two of them speak. "I... I don't think.... Thank you for the offer, Dobby, but I spent all day out yesterday. I really do want to do well at this job." She turned to Harry. "You could just..." She was about to ask him to stay and talk to her as she cleaned, but she recalled their conversation yesterday. The one that had immediately FOLLOWED the kiss. "Have you made up your mind then?" she said, her voice suddenly formal.

Harry stared at her, she didn't expect him to say this now, here, did she? Even if the truth was that he hadn't really sorted out what to do, he certainly knew what he wanted to. "Ginny... I can't... not here..." He glanced uneasily at George and Dobby. "See, Dobby will watch the store..." He looked to George with a pleading look. "Please, George, we'll only be about a half hour and I promise I'll be a good boy."

Ron jumped aside and almost break the jar of jam he was carrying. He put it on the table and looked at Hermione. "My hand's okay now Hermione," he said firmly. The spoon on his burnt hand dropped on the floor. Weakly, he laughed, looking at Hermione. "Guees not." He bent down and picked up the spoon.

The day of shopping and roaming the town did a number on Fred, and he slept in much longer than he usually did. He was awoken with a dream about unshuttable umbrellas, and jumped straight out of bed and ran down the stairs to tell George his lastest idea. His eyes hadn't adjusted to the light yet, and he totally missed the last step and tripped. But, he was quite coordinated and turned his little blunder into a spectacular kind of roll, which he came out of with his warms spread wide. "TADA!" He was standing there in a pair of bright orange PJ's that Ron had given him and his hair looked like an entire pack of wolves had slept in it. But he was grinning widely, and ready for action. "George!! You'll never believe what I..." he trailed off at the sight of Harry and Ginny. "Well.....what do we have here?" he said as he strolled over to George's side.

She smiled as she took the spoon of of his hand. "It appears not. what do you want to eat?" She asked, looking over her friend, slightly proud. He was starting a job today.

George didn't even turn as Fred came to his side. They both stood behind the counter, watching. "Harry wants to take Ginny out to breakfast. He promises to be a good boy," he said drolly. "I say its up to Ginny. If she wants to go out to breakfast and miss a few hours on her second day on the job, that is entirely up to her." George took in the nasty look Ginny gave him, and his hand suddenly went into his pockets. "Fine, how's this then? Fred and I will go back and do an inventory. Dobby can run down and buy us all some croissonts from Madame Almondine on the corner. Does all that strike your fancy?"

Ginny nodded and watched everyone but Harry disappear through one door or another. She turned back to him and looked at him solemnly. "So... have you?"

He watched her eyes meet his and just wished that he could reach out and touch her. She was so beautiful and so innocent. He looked at her for about twenty seconds before speaking. "I... I know what I feel and I know what I want..." He decided to be vague for the moment.

"Inventory??"Fred whined. "George..I just had a brilliant idea! We have to get to work in the lab!!" he said loud enough for all to hear. Once they were out of eye sight of Ginny and Harry he turned to George. "Extendable Ears for you my good man?" he said as he pulled a pair out of his PJ pocket and looked at them as if they were a slab of gold. "Never leave home without them."

George reached into his own pocket and pulled out another pair of Extendable Ears. "My twin, you are too brilliant for words." Simultaneously, they both put one end in their ears and let the other end snake under the door back into the main room of the shop.

Ginny felt Harry drink her in with his eyes. She turned and went back to dusting the shelves. "I don't know what you mean, Harry," she swallowed the lump in her throat that threatened to turn to tears at any moment. "I know what you feel, or at least what you think you feel, but what do you want? You can't have any more of me until you decide you want only me."

Snape apparated into the Ministry of Magic and sept over to the visitor's entrance to have his wand weighed and to pick up his visitor's badge. He sneered at the inefficient man assigned this task and snatched the badge out of his hand before stalking down the corridor. He afixed the badge which read: Prof. Severus Snape, Dept. of Mysteries as he waited for the lift. He received a few wary glances from other witches and wizards but, he ignored them as he stepped on the lift and headed down.

Instead of going all the way down to the lowest level and heading straight to the Department of Mysteries, however, he stopped off to visit Kingsley Shacklebolt in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement as Dumbledore had requested.

Harry took a deep breath and turned Ginny around with his arm, keeping his hand on hers. "I think I do, Ginny." He could not believe he was doing this. He was setting himself up for the object of many peoples' hate and setting himself up for having his heart broken.

Ginny stared at Harry's hand where it touched hers. His hands were big, warm, and they had a sort of comforting roughness to them. Not too rough, but strong and capable. Finally, she looked at him. "You do? I mean... you do want me? But... but what about..." She was suddenly uncertain. This was good news, but she didn't want him to regret it or change his mind or... ever stop looking at her the way he was right now.

Harry moved his thumb in a circular motion across her soft, dainty hand, "I don't know, but I can tell you that I love you, Ginny, and I can say it positively." He didn't want to ever break his gaze with her. He supposed he would feel that often, as he never had really felt that with Elizabeth.

Ginny, for the first time since Harry had told her about his engagement, let herself feel hope again. She laughed, a clear peal of joy, and threw herself into his arms, her own arms going up to wrap around his shoulders and thread into his hair. "Everything's going to be alright now, isn't it, Harry?" she asked him, trusting that the look in his eye and the honesty in his voice meant he would choose to be with her.

Harry clung onto Ginny and felt his stomach do a sort of flip when he felt her hands in his hair. He pulled her back and looked her in the eye bringing his hand softly to her cheek, "Everything is going to be fine..." He said, not even thinkiing about Elizabeth.

"Harry," Ginny said softly, her eyes watching his mouth and not his own eyes. "I'm going to let you kiss me now," she smiled at him, off-setting her teasing words. "But don't tell my brothers. They don't like anyone kissing me, but certainly not someone with a fiancee..." She suddenly looked uncertain, and seemed to make a movement to leave his embrace.
