After Ginny finishes her final year at Hogwarts, she's stunned to learn that Harry, who's been out of school a year, is engaged. Not wanting to return to the Burrow, which will be full of wedding planning and activity, Ginny escapes to Diagon Alley for a bit of independent living. The twins kindly take Ginny in and offer her a job, and she drags Neville and Luna along as flatmates. Who knows what will happen now that they are living independently?

This is a VERY loose storyline so far, but we want to have the chance to explore these characters as rising adults. I have all of the main characters filled at this point. If you are interested, go ahead and post your character idea. To be honest, I'd prefer HP characters (but not necesarily HRH) rather than made-ups... although a quality made-up is always welcome. If I don't feel your character will add to the story, I probably won't say yes. Also, we're quite serious about RPing, so if you aren't on at night EST, CST, or you will only post very sporadically, don't bother. This is advanced RPing, so YES, your posts need to be longer and more detailed and we DO care about your spelling and grammar.

"What I feel? Well, I don't know exactly what I feel..." Harry said, he knew what he felt but didn't know how to put it into words. Well, he did, but he didn't want to. It would just seem to dramatic, like the daytime shows that Ant Petunia used to watch.

"Okay, I do know what I feel but I don't think I should feel this way..." They key was to be vague. But that would only get him so far. "I... I think... I love you, Gin." Once the words were out of his mouth he wished numerous things. He wished he could put them back in his mouth, he wished that he didn't sound so teenage-dramatic, and he wished he didn't seem like a spur of the moment decision-maker because he was saying what he felt over a period of two days. But, really, it hadn't been for two days, he realized.

Ginny looked stupidly at Harry for a long time. He... he what? She blinked at him, unable to understand exactly what he was saying. She understood the words, but it was like this was some sort of strange dream and dancing Krups would erupt from the tree and serenade them at any moment.

"But... Harry," she finally managed to whisper. "Wh... h... you're getting married." It was about the stupidest she'd ever sounded.

Harry's face was a deep shade of crimson as he responded. "I've realized... but... you asked I how I felt and I told you. It's the first time I've been outright in telling my feelings." This was true. He used to keep most things to himself and then be horribly disappointed.

"You don't... I mean... you know... you don't... if you don't feel the same way, no pressure, like I said... I can go in... I might have some...er..stuff to do..."

"Harry, I..." Ginny realized that she was still standing inches from Harry. It hadn't mattered when she was angry with him, but now his proximity was distracting. She wanted to move back, but that was a show of weakness. Instead, she peered up into his face. "How do I know you won't change your mind tomorrow? Yesterday, you loved Elizabeth. Today, you love me. I don't think my heart could take losing you again." She knew she hadn't really answered the question, but her meaning was clear. If he changed his mind, her heart would break. It was better to just believe he was going through a phase and not be hurt.

"I haven't seen you in a year, Ginny... I..." He looked down at her and then off into the distance. "I don't know... I think I should go in now, you know, do that... stuff... I have to do..." He sighed and backed away from her, watching her face. She looked so helpless on the outside, but she was one of the strongest people Harry knew.

There was no way to explain what he felt, he decided, so he would just have to think about it some more, he guessed.

"Harry!" Ginny called after him and chased him down, planting herself in front of him. "If you had given me any sign, I would have been here. If you had given me any reason to hope... but you never looked at me. Or that's what it seemed like. I had to get on with my life."

She stepped back, then moved back into his space. "You take the time you need. Figure things out. And either way, I'll still be here." Ginny placed her hands flat on Harry's chest, pushed up on her tiptoes, and kissed him softly on the mouth. She hoped he'd forgive her. She hoped she'd forgive herself.

Harry was dumbstruck. The shade of color in his face had deepened even more and he blinked as if a camera had just flashed in his face. He glanced down at her hand on his chest, then up to look in her eyes. "Okay, thanks, Ginny." That did not sound right. "I mean, thanks for saying you'll be there... that's really... reassuring," He said with a slight tremble and higher pitch in his voice. "I should... go inside, now..." He backed away, taking her hand and placing it back at her side.

"I'll... talk to you later... maybe you could have dinner here?..." He said as he backed up towards the door to the house.

It was probably the wrong emotion to feel after kissing the man she loved, who also loved another woman, but Ginny just felt powerful. Harry was all over the place, blushing and stammering and looking floored by the whole thing, and that made her feel her own feminine powers.

"I don't think we can stay, Harry. Luna and I have to get back and get the flat ready to live in. But you'll remember... what I said?" she asked, feeling glad she had an excuse to leave. As much as she wanted to be with Harry, Ginny really didn't want to be with him right now. He had too much to work through. Ginny allowed Harry to lead her back to the house, where Molly and Luna were waiting.

Molly watched the two enter the kitchen with some surprise. They had been gone a while, and they both looked... well, she couldn't put her finger on it. They both looked aggitated in some way. "You're leaving?" she asked Ginny in disappointment, then turned to Harry. "Well, you can help me get ready for dinner, dear."

"'Course I'll remember," Harry said as they entered the kitchen, he was still blushing a bit and assured Mrs. Weasley that he would love to help her with dinner. "I'll see you, Ginny, maybe I'll stop by tomorrow... if not, I definitely will later this week..."

After she and Luna had left, Harry was helping Mrs. Weasley with setting the table and thinking about what had happened. She never gave him a straight answer, but, obviously she felt the same way, she kissed him.... Ginny Weasley and Harry Potter had kissed. Harry just prayed that none of the Weasley boys would find out.

Molly whisked plates and silverware across the kitchen to Harry, who set them on the table. It was when the second cup bounced off of him instead of being caught that she looked up and really studied him. He was all distracted and pensive and... was he blushing?

"Harry Potter, why are you standing in the middle of my kitchen and blushing?" She shook a wooden spoon at him good naturedly before she spelled it to stir sauce on the stove.

"Huh? Oh... I... it's nothing, Mrs. Weasley," He knew Mrs. Weasley could be just as fierce as her sons and didn't want to tell her that Harry's and Ginny's lips had just been touching. He smiled, though, Mrs. Weasley could always tell when somethingwas going on. "I suppose it's just hot in here..."

Hermione decided she wanted to do some shopping, so she asked if either Elizabeth or Ron would like to go with her, and when they quickly declined, she set off down the alley. The first place she stopped was none other then Weasley's Wizard Wheezes. As she walked in she saw George under the front counter who looked busy with something. "Hello," she said walking over to the counter, "I'm looking for a Gred Weasley... has a brother named Forge..."

Molly raised an eyebrow. Harry wasn't her child, but she knew him well enough to realize he was lying to her. And looking quite pleased about it. "Yes, well... that will happen in the kitchen, it being full of ovens and fires. I hope you didn't over exert yourself talking to Ginny. I know she's quite the fierce one when she's angry. Do you think she's forgiven you yet?"

George was on his hands and knees under the liftable counter, trying to pick up disappearing/reappearing buttons as they flashed into sight. At a voice from the front, he jerked his head, hitting it on the countertop. "OUCH!" he winced and crawled out from under the counter, looking up to see who had surrpised him.

"Hey, 'Mione. What's a nice girl like you doing in a place like this?"

Hermione laughed and smiled, "Well, I'm going to do some shopping and I thought I'd stop by. I haven't seen either of you two in awhile." She looked around the shop, "So, business going well, I assume?" She asked, leaning on the counter top.

"I think she's forgiven me, but, you know, Mrs. Weasley, it's always hard to tell with women. They're so... mysterious... and confusing," Harry said as he sset down plates. What he just said had to be the understatement of the century.

George continued to rub his head. "Oh, yeah... we're doing alright. Well enough to afford a house elf who refuses to take breaks and a new shopgirl. I hired Ginny this morning, and I don't think Fred will be too mad when he gets back from buying supplies."

"And how's everyone's favorite Gryffindor know-it-all?" he said it so good-naturedly that no one could really take offense.

"Of course women are confusing, Harry dear. That's what makes them so interesting to have around. But Ginny... if she's still mad, Harry, you'll know. If you think she isn't, she must not be."

Molly tasted one of the pots, made a face and poured some sort of cream from the tip of her wand. "Now, Elizabeth... she doesn't have a temper like my Ginny does. I'm sure that's nice for you, Harry."

"I guess..." He said. He really liked Ginny's temper actually. He found it rather intriguing. Elizabth was nice enough, but Ginny was one of a kind. "Mrs. Weasley..." Harry turned to her, "Did you know that Mr. Weasley was the right one when you got married?" He asked.

"I'm good enough. I'm helping Harry and his fiancee with wedding plans so I'm kind of busy. But I love it, there's so much history about famous wizard wedding and... oh, I should lend you this book, it's called-" She stopped, seeing hte look upon George's face and smiled, "I'm sorry... it really just is fascinating. So, you hired Ginny, that's good."

"You love... wedding planning?" George looked at Hermione with a very blank face. "Well, good on you. No offense, but you were the top of your class. Don't you think you could be making better use of your time than planning the wedding of the century?"

Molly smiled and leaned against the counter. It was the first time she'd stopped moving since Harry had entered the kitchen. "I've loved Arthur since he was a skinny Gryffindor who stuttered when he asked me to Hogsmeade. He is the love of my life, and I would be miserable without him." She glanced up at the clock, checking to see where he was, then looked back at Harry. "I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. When did you first realize you loved Elizabeth and wanted to marry her?"

"Well, not really, I mean, I have a job, but other than that, I have no social life besides my close group of friends, and I need something to organize, and so much organization goes into weddings... complicated things, you know..." She said to the red head.

"I suppose..." Harry thought. In reality, he couldn't pinpoint when he fell in love with Elizabeth. When he propsed to her it was sort of a spur of th emoment thing, but he had assured himself he loved her. "I don't know when exactly I fell in love with her, thoug, is that something bad?"

"Okay," George shrugged. He wasn't aobut to get into a debate with Hermione Granger over how fun and important wedding planning was. "So... you've met this mysterious Elizabeth. Give me all the dirt. I'm actually the family gossip," he made a ridiculous face.

"Of course it isn't bad, dear. You love her NOW, and that's what's important. The when and the where are only funny stories to share with your children and friends. They aren't what the marriage rests on."

"Well... she's very nice... she's a pretty girl, too..." Hermione said "But honestly, George, I'm not sure if Harry was thinking everyhting through when he proposed."

Harry gave a feeble smile and thought about what Mrs. Weasley just said. He had fallen in love with Elizabeth, for he certainly loved her... but there was something... magical about Ginny. "You are a great advice giver, Mrs. Weasley."

Luna reluctantly followed Ginny back to the flat. She had wanted to spend more time with Mrs. Weasley and the house. But, they needed to get set up. "How did it go with Harry?" she asked Ginny when they had arrived back in the living room of the flat.

"What are you talking about?" George asked. He had his own suspicions, but Hermione was a first hand source. "What's there to think through? He loves her and wants to be with her, right?"

Molly smiled sunnily at Harry. "Well, thank you, Harry, although I'm not sure why you need advice. These are the best days of your life, and you seem to be doing just fine. And you and Elizabeth... have you two settled on a date yet?"

Ginny looked blankly at Luna, wondering how much to tell her. Well, they were flatmates, which pretty much put them completely and totally into each others' lives. Ginny sat on the floor and un-shrank the box that Molly had packed all their kitchenwares into. "Um... it went fine. He kind of said he loves me. And I kind of... kissed him." She didn't look at Luna.

"I don't know, he only proposed to her about a month and half after they met... and after school ended last year, Harry was... well, he was talking about how he missed Ginny... I don't know... but, I'm sure they'll be happy." She knew, inside, that Harry really wouldn't be all that happy.

"I don't think so... well, maybe... Hermione knows all of that stuff. I really think she's having fun with this wedding planning..." Harry said, glad that Mrs. Weasley hadn't asked anymore Ginyn related questions.

George leaned on the counter and gave Hermione his most charming smile. "You want to help me with a little project I'm working on? I could use a brilliant girl like you. I have this... let's say its a scientific theory about Ginny. She's moping a bit because of Harry's whole wedding thing, and I say... she needs a little quality time with Harry. Help her to figure out what she really feels, maybe help him figure out what he feels. You're a smart woman, 'Mione. You up for some experimentation."

"Yes, well... hopefully she'll be planning her own wedding one of these days, although I don't know if I've seen her out with any nice young men recently. I always hoped that the two of you would join the family... but... well, it doesn't look like that'll happen. You're still my son, Harry. You're an honorary Weasley, you know that, right?"

"What happened?" Ginny repeated in confusion. "Well, he kissed me back. Or, I think he kissed me back. I have no idea. Yeah. He kissed me back. I think." She worried at her lip with her teeth, trying to remember, before shaking it off. "He got all flustered afterward and basically ran away. Do you think he meant it when he said he loved me?"

Hermione looked over George, seriously considering what he said. She always considered herself a 'better safe than sorry' type. But she knew Ginny was more of Harry's type. She hesitated, then said, "I'm in. What exactly are you planning on doing? Sending them off to a deserted island for a week? I mean, around here they can't get much privacy... they could always go to Hogsmeade for the day or something..."

Harry smiled at Mrs. Weasley, then walked over and gave her a hug. "Thanks, Mrs. Weasley," he said as he went back to setting the table. "Hermione will find someone, I'm sure."
