After Ginny finishes her final year at Hogwarts, she's stunned to learn that Harry, who's been out of school a year, is engaged. Not wanting to return to the Burrow, which will be full of wedding planning and activity, Ginny escapes to Diagon Alley for a bit of independent living. The twins kindly take Ginny in and offer her a job, and she drags Neville and Luna along as flatmates. Who knows what will happen now that they are living independently?

This is a VERY loose storyline so far, but we want to have the chance to explore these characters as rising adults. I have all of the main characters filled at this point. If you are interested, go ahead and post your character idea. To be honest, I'd prefer HP characters (but not necesarily HRH) rather than made-ups... although a quality made-up is always welcome. If I don't feel your character will add to the story, I probably won't say yes. Also, we're quite serious about RPing, so if you aren't on at night EST, CST, or you will only post very sporadically, don't bother. This is advanced RPing, so YES, your posts need to be longer and more detailed and we DO care about your spelling and grammar.

He kissed the top of her head before resting his chin there. He was enjoying just sitting there with her like this, even though the subject of conversation was somewhat disturbing. "I realize that there are the two of you and one will not come without the other but, yes, I do care for Dani. She is different from most of the children I have encountered."

Tara smiled and snuggled deeper against Snape. She knew he was uncomfortable with the subject at hand, and she was more than willing to enjoy this quiet moment and change the subject before he got completely scared off. "When you say that I can't leave the house, does that mean I can't even return to the castle for my research? What if you told her it would be too suspicious in your placement as a spy for me to be disposed of, since Dumbledore is aware of our attachment?"

"I'm not sure that is such a good idea. I have to think on it and discuss our options with Dumbledore before I do anything rash," he said, his hand moving to stroke her hair. "But, trips to the castle should be safe enough. I'm not entirely sure why you had to leave in the first place, though I suspect it has something to do with mature adult supervision."

Tara tilted her head back and planted a kiss on the soft skin under Snape's chin. "Well, I want Dani somewhere full time where someone is keeping an eye on her. As much as I hate to admit it, this is a better place for that. I don't want to ever see Dani like I did after the Peeves incident." She rubbed her hand lightly over the place where the Dark Mark was. "I wish I could understand the darkness in you that led you to this."

He gently pulled his arm from her. "Let's hope you never do," he whispered, more to himself than to Tara. He was rescued from any more questions when they heard a loud bang come from the kitchen, followed by the distinct odor of smoke. "Perhaps your appraisal of the situation in this house was a bit premature," he sighed.

"Right....how hard could it be? I'll get crackin with the eggs..," Fred said laughing at his own joke. He picked up the first egg and looked at it. All he had to do was crack it...but why crack them one at a time? What a waist of time. He placed the egg back down on the counter with the others. No one seemed to be paying him much attention so he took out his wand and tapped the side of his leg thinking of a good spell. None came to mind that were 'good', so he just used the first one he thought of. "BAM!!" the small explosion went off, setting the curtains on fire and eggs all over the kitchen..."Oops..."

Tara's eyes widened and she leapt from teh couch, running across the house to the kitchen. George was laying on the floor, covered in eggyolk and laughing. Dani and Hermione looked shell-shocked, literally, and Fred seemed to be missing his eyebrows, although the healthy amount of now cooked eggs hid whatever on his face was smoking.

Tara put out the fire on the curtains and turned to glare at him. "What exactly are you doing? How can anyone make this much of a mess by cracking eggs?"

Dani piped up. "He used a spell to crack them. It wasn't very good, was it?" She checked with Hermione, who shook her head.

"Don't help, D," George chortled from the floor.

Fred slowly turned to face Professor Sinistra. He didn't open his eyes for fear of getting eggs and yolk and shell in them, but he could tell she was less than pleased. "Erm...no, Dani's right. It wasn't a very good spell...but the eggs are cracked!" Fred laughed and took a step, stepping right onto George and falling in the floor next to him.

Snape remained seated for a few minutes after Tara had fled to the kitchen to see what had happened. Slowly, he rose and walked down, standing in th edoorway as he surveyed the scene. As expected, the twins were at fault, unable to perform even the simplest of tasks; he'd seen it numerous times in his potions classes.

Hermione giggled, watching the scene in front of her. Luckily, she only got covered with a little bit of was was supposed to be their breakfast. She wiped it off of her and took a napkin and started to wipe Dani's face which was somewhat yolk-y. Meanwhile, Professor Sinistra had shown up and the twins were acting like clowns.

"Oomph," Fred had landed on George's stomach, and George rolled around trying to get free. Finally, he freed himself and kept rolling to get away from Fred's flailing limbs. "Be careful, Fred. I'm very delicated and I might..." He rolled right into something soft that gave and turned to see Professor Sinistra sitting on the floor now too and looking quite surprised.

Tara had no time to get out of George's way as he rolled right into her legs and knocked her onto her rump. She blinked at him and was surprised that she didn't feel the urge to hex the young man. He looked shocked too, and Tara couldn't help but feel the ridiculous of the situation. She didn't dare look at Snape, because she knew she'd laugh outright, and she was sure he'd disapprove. Instead she sat on the floor and continued to just look a bit shocked.

Snape was of half a mind to go over and grab the Weasley twin by the back of the shirt and shove him out of the door but, it seemed Tara had everything under control. Instead, he moved toward Granger and Dani. Taking Dani by the hand, he led her out of the nearly destroyed kitchen and into the bathroom where he could attempt to clean her up properly.

Dani lifted her face and allowed Snape to pick the egg out of her hair and use a charm to clean her up even further. She was silent while he worked until he stood back to check his progress. "Are you angry with me?" Her eyes were big but her jaw was set. She would take whatever punishment was dished out.

"Angry with you?" he asked, conciously attempting to soften the tone of his voice, though he had no experience in doing so and wasn't sure if he had managed it. "What makes you think I would be?"

Fred scrambled to his feet and grabbed up one of Professor Sinistra's hands, kneeing George out of the way. " I am so sorry, Professor. I ...am a first class git, and I do hope you're alright..," Fred said, pulling her up to her feet and flicking an eggshell out of her hair.

Dani stared at the floor. "I was bad," she admitted. "Mum was mad at me." She made an involuntary gesture, then quietly put both hands back at her sides. " I just... I like you a lot. I wanted to make you like me." It wasn't hard for her to admit it, as she'd always been a basically honest child but the pain of rejection was very real to her.

Tara allowed herself to be helped up and looked over her shoulder to watch Snape take Dani away, probably to be tidied up. "Look, boys, I know that you're especially clever and funny, and I really do respect that. We need humor and laughter in times like these, but... be careful around Dani. No funny business. Jokes and silliness aside, please don't blow up the kitchen or set things on fire or otherwise put her in danger. If you ever hurt her, you will be unable to reproduce. Are we clear?" She smiled as if she hadn't just threatened them and waved her wand to clean up the floor.

Snape sighed and took a moment to gather his thoughts. He sat down on the closed toilet seat, his hands in his lap. "She isn't angry with you either. She just wants you to understand that just because you can make a lot of things happen that you want to happen, doesn't mean you can bend people to your will," he said and, banking on the girl's shown intellect so far, he decided to press on. "The relationship between your mother and I is very new. These things take time to develop and sometimes, as they do, people come to realize that they are not as suited to one another as they had first thought. Though I hope this is not the case, it is a very real possibility and I'm afraid your mother fears that you will be hurt if it comes to that."

Dani put her small hand on Snape's knee. "So you and my mum might not like each other anymore? But... will you still like me? Because I think I'll still like you even if you aren't my daddy or even if my mum doesn't love you. I think I'd still want to be in Slytherin. Would that be okay? Could we still be friends?"

"Yes, if the sorting hat so decides, you may be in my house and we can still be friends," he replied, unsure as to what she meant by friends but, knowing he was developing a growing attachment to the girl nontheless. "Now, before we go take you back to your mother, there is one more thing I'd like to talk with you about."

Dani's eyes widened. "What is it? If its about the baby brother, its alright. I really do want one of those, but I want him to have a mummy AND a daddy. And if you're going to leave like my daddy did, then... I can wait."

"No, that wasn't what I wanted to talk to you about but, I do assure you that a brother would be a long way off. Having a child is not something one treads into lightly. What I would like to speak to about is when you lived with your aunt," he said, studying her carefully.

Dani cocked her head and looked at Snape in confusion. "What about Alanna?" Her tone was almost fearful and she worried that maybe he wanted to tell her that her mother had changed her mind. Maybe she didn't want her anymore.

Snape took a deep breath before continuing. "What happened when you were bad there?" he asked, noticing the fear in her voice but, unable to place where it came from, he thought it best to just get to the root of the problem.

Dani scuffed her foot against the baseboard and thought about why he was asking. She couldn't figure it out, so she tried to be as honest as she could be. "I got punished," she shrugged. "But I tried to be good. I sometimes was bad, like when I turned my hair blue, but I tried to be really good and not do weird things."
