After Ginny finishes her final year at Hogwarts, she's stunned to learn that Harry, who's been out of school a year, is engaged. Not wanting to return to the Burrow, which will be full of wedding planning and activity, Ginny escapes to Diagon Alley for a bit of independent living. The twins kindly take Ginny in and offer her a job, and she drags Neville and Luna along as flatmates. Who knows what will happen now that they are living independently?

This is a VERY loose storyline so far, but we want to have the chance to explore these characters as rising adults. I have all of the main characters filled at this point. If you are interested, go ahead and post your character idea. To be honest, I'd prefer HP characters (but not necesarily HRH) rather than made-ups... although a quality made-up is always welcome. If I don't feel your character will add to the story, I probably won't say yes. Also, we're quite serious about RPing, so if you aren't on at night EST, CST, or you will only post very sporadically, don't bother. This is advanced RPing, so YES, your posts need to be longer and more detailed and we DO care about your spelling and grammar.

"You're right, of course, Severus," Bella tossed her dark hair over her shoulder and watched the blood on Snape's chin. "I'm much too preoccupied with that little problem. I shall dispatch of it immediately; once I"m done with you of course." She studied him then and found that her desire for his blood had been quenched. She wanted someone else's blood more, and she was tired of these foolish games. "You bore me, Severus. I've got your blood, and I've heard your cries of pain. I'm sated."

He wiped his chin with the sleeve of his torn robes and extracted his wand from within its inside pocket before standing on slightly jelly-like legs. A wave of his wand and the remains of his robes vanished. "I'm so terribly sorry to have bored you, Bella," Snape responded, slowly walking toward her, hiding his concern for Tara and Dani in his concentration to remain steady on his feet. "I'll have to contemplate a better show, in case there ever is a next time. Of course, one never knows when the tables might be turned," he smirked, raising his wand, menacingly.

A flash of panic lit Bella's eyes, but she quickly stamped it down. Logic prevailed. Snape might want to be the one calling all the shots, might want to exact revenge on her for shaming him and hurting him, but he also answered to their Master. He wouldn't hurt one of the Dark Lord Voldemort's favorites unless given express permission to.

"Don't be rash, Severus," she finally responded coolly. He had to have seen her panic, but she could pretend. "Put your wand down before I have to curse you again. I'm letting you walk out of here free and clear, so don't play stupid games."

He had caught her brief panic and lowered his wand, also pretending she hadn't just displayed a flash of panic, though he was certainly satisfied now. "As the lady wishes," Snape said, giving her deep, courtly, bow and taking his time coming up from it. He wasn't as young as he used to be and he was still terribly sore from the curse. He just barely managed not to grimmace as he came back to stand straight upright and began to walk towards the door.

Bellatrix watched him walk towards the door, his gait showing the pain he was still in. She smiled in the darkened room and her heart lifted from the fear she had felt at Snape's wand rising. "Severus, my offer still stands. It might be in your best interest to think on it, since my generosity is seldom seen. Only in situations like this can you hope to be my equal in any respect." She flicked her wand at the chair and it repaired itself.

Tara entered the Staff Room again with a small bag clutched under her arm. She had packed most of Dani's things as well as a few additional charts and books she thought she might need. The house at Grimmauld was very quiet when she arrived, but she almost liked it better that way. It was a shame she needed to seek someone out to find out what room was to be hers and Dani's.

"I'm sure you have noticed that I'm not quite up to the task," he conceeded, leaning on the doorway for support while he finished his banter. "Perhaps, if the offer still stands, I'll take you up on it when I am more capable."

"Of course, Severus," Bellatrix's voice was honeyed and sarcastic. "Go and heal, and next time, heed our Lord's call. When you next need companionship, you know how to find me, and I will take care of your Mudblood problem in the interrim." She turned her body to indicate she was through with him and to signify his dismissal.

Snape stumbled across the uneven surface of the grass, back to the apparition point and disapparated. He arrived, not in his quarters, but at a secure point just around the corner from Grimmauld Place. Making certain he wasn't followed, Snape hurried to the house, trying not to draw attention to himself. Luckily, noone seemed to be out on the streets and he made his way without incident.

He opened the door and shut it carefully behind him but, his strength was begining to wear out. Instead of searching for Tara, he decided to just wait in the study and, with any luck, she'd be there anyway. Halfway down the hallway, his knees decided to buckle and in his effort not to fall to the floor, he knocked over a vase, setting off Mrs. Black. "Shut up you hag," he bellowed and charmed the curtains closed before standing himself back up.

He walked unsteadily into the study and collapsed into the nearest chair. Snape closed his eyes and leaned his head back in the chair. Hopefully the children would ignore Mrs. Black and allow Tara to come and investigate.

Tara had given the house a fairly thorough search and was beginning to be disgusted with those twins. And she had always thought that Granger was so clever! If they had taken Dani out of this house, so help them all, she'd... Her thoughts were disrupted by the screaming of Mrs. Black downstairs. With relief that someone was about, Tara took the stairs from the upper landing and then to the ground floor two at a time. There was no one about when she looked into the entrance hallway and the kitchen.

Peeking her head finally into the study, Tara had a sharp word ready on her tongue, prepared to fling it at the twins with all the had. Instead she saw Severus looking exhausted and broken, a trail of blood from his mouth and cheek and a growing spot on his usually perfectly white shirt. His robes were missing entirely. She moved into the room and clicked the door shut gently behind her.

Bellatrix waited until Snape's steps had faded. With a cry of rage, she flung the chair against the wall with a ferocious flick of her wrist. How did he get under her skin? How did he succeed in rousing her tempers and her passions when Rodolphus and Lucius and the others had not?

Bellatrix calmed herself and steadied her breathing. One did not approcach the Dark Lord in the middle of a temper tantrum. Once she was in control of herself, she exited the room and sought her Master. He seemed to be waiting for her in his chambers. With her usual grace, Bellatrix fell at his feet and pressed her face to his hem.

He opened his eyes and turned his head when he heard the faint click of a door being shut. "Do not leave this house for any reason," Snape said in greeting as he saw it was Tara who had entered, a wave of regret flowing over him as he looked at her.

His words prompted her not to rush to his side and demand an explanation but to move quietly to a pitcher of water. A cloth napkin sat next to it, and Tara dabbed the napkin in the water. Finally, she moved slowly to Snape's side. She wanted to fling herself on him and make sure he was fine, but he WAS fine.

Tara cleaned up Snape's face, still not responding to his words. Once the dried blood was off his chin and she had a look at the slight cut on his cheek, she pulled down the shoulder of his shirt. The scratches on his body looked as if they were caused by fingernails. Sharpened, long fingernails.

"I have no intention of leaving, Severus. The only places I ever need to be are here and with my equipment at the castle. Will you explain your orders or should I just take your word for it?" Her voice was very calm because SHE was very calm. Too calm.

Snape sat still while Tara tended to his scrapes. He could use a hot drink about now but, he was too stubborn at the moment to ask her to make him one. He closed his eyes briefly before looking up at Tara and finding that he could not meet her eyes. "I have no new orders as I was a bit late in arriving," he replied. "However, I'm afraid I've made you an enemy of an old friend of mine. Your life is in grave danger."

Tara put down her cloth and moved around Snape, sitting next to him on the uninjured side. She knew he was bruised and battered from any number of curses or else she would have snuggled up even closer to him. She ignored the part about being in danger. It wasn't that it didn't matter, it was more that she couldn't change it and it didn't surprise her. She put herself in danger by being a part of this war and then by choosing to care about Snape.

"You were late because you were with me." It wasn't a question, it was fact. He was like this because he'd ignored his call and stayed with her. "I don't want to be the reason you lose your position as a spy or your life, Severus."

"I'm too valuable to him while he still thinks I'm his spy. He will not dispatch of me easily. I've never missed a call when I was not busy with the school, not since I was young and reckless. I could and should have suffered worse," he replied, still rather perplexed that Bella hadn't done more to him. He had resigned himself to the fact that he would spend a few hours on the floor of the mausoleum before he could get up and leave. Instead, he merely walked out under his own power after about five minutes of recouperation time. Realizing that he had retreated into his thoughts, Snape attempted to look at Tara again. "Do you recall the man we met in Hogsmeade?"

Tara rested her hand lightly on his. "But you've never suffered worse because of me. Yes, the LeStrange man. I know who you speak of... I regret that we were ever seen together if it is going to put you in a position in which you could be punished or worse."

"Yes, well, he told his wife, as I knew he would but, I was a fool to think that they might let it be. She knows of your parentage in addition to our relationship and has taken it upon herself to rid me of my "Mudblood problem." She mentioned nothing of Dani but, I doubt she will be safe for much longer.

Tara shrugged and responded simply, "Then I shall stay put. I don't know why it should concern them if you choose to associate with me or not, especially since we are co-workers, but if Dani and I need to stay hidden, then we shall." She placed her hand on his cheek just under his cut. "But that won't keep you safe, and they'll know you warned me. Surely there is a way put them off. Can you lie to them about our relationship or the motives behind it?"

"I've already told them that our relationship was born out of my need for something no woman has yet offered to me. They didn't quite believe me when I told them it was nothing more than a physical relationship however, I was able to persuade them that it was the truth," Snape said, holding his mental shields as firmly in place as they had been since he had arrived at the cemetary. "In spite of it all, Bella is determined to see you dead. If I didn't know any better, I would say she was jealous."

"Merlin save us from a woman scorned," Tara's voice was low and sarcastic, a tone that sounded alien even to her ears. She was always so calm and placid. "Did she offer herself to you? No, best not answer that. If she did, there's no way for you to have said no, and if she didn't, I'm not sure I'll believe you. Just don't tell me." She paused, not believing her own words. She wanted to know. She wanted to grab this LeStrange woman and shake her for daring to even think about Severus. "Is there anything I can do to help you now? A potion?"

"She did and I didn't exactly refuse but, nothing came of it. She wounded me a bit too much for anything to happen," Snape answered, knowing that she was lying when she said not to tell her and that it would eat her up if he didn't say anything.

The moment he sat down the muscles began to tighten and so when Snape shifted in the chair, he grunted in pain and frustration. "A cup of tea. But, I don't know if there are any potions in stock here at all, let alone something that would help."

Tara exited the room without commenting and reappeared a moment later after having a house elf go for tea. She moved to the cabinet on the far wall of the study and brought Snape a variety of Potions. She had no idea if any of them would work, but perhaps he could find something to relieve his pain for the time being.

She finally settled on the ottomon, within his reach if he could move but out of his way so he could maneuver into a comfortable position. "You know you must take her up on it. If you're just using me for physical reasons, then you'd be more than willing to find relief in a woman such as her." Her composed voice was back and she was grateful.

Snape looked at the potions sitting on the table beside him, he didn't see the muscle relaxant that he needed but, it didn't matter. "Yes, that's true," he responded to her statement, unsure as to what exactly she was getting at.

Snape didn't seem interested in any of the potions she had found thus far, so Tara retrieved the rest of the vials from the cabinet. Surely there was something he could use. She sat back on the ottoman and rested a hand on Snape's knee. "If you'd rather, you don't have to tell me. You don't have to say anything when you've been with her." It cut her to say it, but she kept her face calm. His safety, all of their safety, depended on him being able to pull this off. He'd need her support for that.

"I don't think it would come down to that. But, if I had to..." he paused, quite amazed at how relaxed he seemed in her company, describing these things. Perhaps it was the years of coming back to Hogwarts and sitting with Dumbledore, reliving the events immediately after them that helped. But, he needed someone other than an aging wizard to speak with. "I've done much worse in the past. Laying with Bella despite my relationship with you and Dani, wouldn't be the worst of my sins."
