| | Cottage in Scotland
Calla Ainsworth and Juniper Mullins have decided to rent a cottage together. This will allow them the freedom to grow as individuals and socially. They rent the cottage from a little old lady whose family has put her in an old person’s home.
The cottage is in Scotland, a place both women always want to live. It’s quiet, away from most things – which works nicely for them. There are charms on the cottage, not allowing apparating in or out – this is to protect Juniper. While she never mastered apparating, she at times has such vivid dreams she apparates there. Charms are used to protect her from disappearing off to wild lands and unpredictable adventures.
Both women work for the Ministry, Calla on level 3, June on level 9.
The ladies are looking to having parties with their friends, and just generally explore the possibilities of life.
Friends are welcome – as long as they Owl ahead of time. Quote:

| Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna Gavin pretended to try and escape before leftting her swat at him as he laughed, both knowing it was true at least partly. As his own gnome victim doesn't go very far, he watched as she gave him a tutorial, seeing the gnome go flying.
"Guess I'm out of practice,' he remarked as Calla walked back over to him,not surprised in the least as she admitted the truth. The man gently smirking and nodding in understanding. Gavin followed her gaze to the fleeing gnomes, not being able to help but laugh at the scene presented before them, slowing with a frown as they were rushed.
"I'll try my best," he said before swiftly making her way over to where the gnome was running from, both man and creature meeting as Gavin kicked the gnome much farther this time, the gnome looking like he had given up as he flew.

She giggled as his foot met the gnome, “Yea!!” Calla watched the pint sized creature soar through the air. “That was a good one!” Looking around the garden most all of them were gone. “I suppose they were scared.” She watched the last of them scamper off. They'd have to do some more gnome kicking another time.
Walking down the path further she noticed the sky changing colors. It was layers of red, oranges, and pinks. “I think from the porch I saw some sort of gazebo around here.”
The garden was full of flowers, and it smelled wonderful. The lady that owned the house must have spent alot of time out here, but it was obvious it had been some time since she had tended her garden.Everything was over grown and in need of pruning, but it did add to the adventure feel of the walk.
She finally saw it in the distance; it was covered with ivies and hidden by trees. “OH there it is!!” and she took off running towards it. Reaching it she was completely out of breath.
Her chest rising and falling deeply she entered the gazebo, “Oh it’s so pretty and I should exercise more often.” She let out a small laugh.
The ivy had small orange flowers all over. She went to the far side; there was about 4 foot that the ivy hadn’t completely obscured the view. “Oh look you can see the sunset from here.” |

| Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna "Why thank you," Gavin replied with a laugh as the gnome landed and joined the rest of them scattering into hiding. "I would be too if I were up against something at least three times my height," he mused turning to Calla as she started to walk off.
He moved to follow her, not wanting to lose sight of her between the slight overgrowth that had grown up obviously since the last tending of the garden. At least the path seemed clear enough as the two of them made their way down it. He couldn't help chuckling as Calla took off in a run when she caught sight of the gazebo in question, following suit to keep up with his companion and very nearly having to stop short as she stopped. His own breath a little ragged from the pace and he considered himself in good shape.
"Yes...and a beautiful one it is, he remarked as he came up beside her to look through the ivy-created window to the scene before them. He slipped an arm casually around Calla's back as they both watched the sunset.

As he placed his arm around her she leaned into him, placing her head on his chest. She watched the sky change colors. She stood there in his arms watching the sun set for a while; by time she said anything there were just light and dark blue hues above. “It’s nice out here.” She shivered slightly and snuggled further into him.
The wind didn’t seem too bad in the gazebo; the vines seem to keep most of it out. The stars started to emerge. Calla could hear the forest creatures moving about, along with the little insects and such. For the most part it was nearly silent.
She looked up at him, “I’m glad I’m here with you. I wouldn’t have it any other way.” |

The sky was beautiful to watch as it changed colors but the woman in front of him was the real treat. They had had their moments together inside and out of the office but he was more then enjoying the evening.
Gavin caught her shiver as he held her almost tempted to suggest they return inside but then she seemed to be fine so he kept quiet not sure he wanted the moment to end. "Well I'm glad I could be here with you," he answered back looking down as she looked up at him.

She smiled at him, enjoying the quiet moment. Placing her head back on him she realized it was completely dark out - besides the moon and stars. She jumped a little as she heard a noise in the distance. Pulling away from his embrace she looked around, "It got dark quick. Do you think we should make our way back?"
It was a long way back, and she was unfamiliar with any creature that might be native to that area. She took her wand out, "Lumos" It lit up the area a little bit, she peered around the gazebo.
Something on the floor boards of the structure caught her eye. They were deep scratches in the wood. Something with large claws had been here. She bent down and felt the divot with her finger. It was rather deep. "ROOOOAAAAARRRR!!"
She jumped, seeing a werewolf 50 yards from them in the open field. "GAVIN!" She ran to his side. Why had she not noticed the HUGE full moon?!?!? The werewolf was not on their path back to the house, he was on the other side of the building.
She looked back to the house, it seemed so far away. There was no way she could run it. There were a thousand spells she could cast, but she wasn't sure if they'd work on a werewolf - she had never encountered one. "Gavin! What should we do?" Her voice was desperate and her breathing heavy.

| Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna "It would probably be best," Gavin replied in agreement as the night sky grew darker around them, his hold shifting as she jumped at the sound figuring it to be some woodland creature not noticing the extreme fullness of the moon himself. He let her free from his hold and followed suit lighting his wand so they could both see better.
Glancing around the area as he turned so they could head back up the path the man didn't notice Calla's closer inspection of the gazebo's markings. But as the blood-curdling howl split the air he spun around wand upraised, his opposite arm reaching for the woman as she rushed back to his side.
"I don't suppose we'd be lucky enough that the overgrown garden comes stocked with wolfsbane," Gavin remarked as he ever so slowly backed up and away from the creature leading Calla with him. His mind racing through options of what they could possibly do to insure both of their safeties to return to the interior of the cottage.
"Don't really know besides sending some strong stunners and such," he admitted knowing there was a reason he worked with charms and not animals especially dangerous ones.

Calla clung to Gavin tightly as they backed from the gazebo and the creature. “I think he’s coming closer!” She was terrified. She managed household charms and spells with ease, but this was not something she was familiar with. Defense and dueling was not something she was good at. Calla had never needed to practice such skills.
She still had her wand in her hand, lit up.
The werewolf took a few stalking steps forward. It felt as though he knew they couldn’t get far. They continued to take steps backward, but this wasn’t going to get them far. They had at least a half mile back to the cottage. She considered calling for her broom, but she couldn’t get the words out. “Gavin!” She was pleading at this point. She didn’t know what to do. She held her wand pointed at the werewolf and he made a sound that reminded her of laughter.
Taking another step backward she stumbled on a rock, grabbing Gavin’s arm as she fell to the ground.

| Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna "I think thats an affirmative," Gavin said in agreement as they continued to slowly back, his own gaze following the movement of the werewolf as he tried to consider their plan of escape. He could feel Calla's terror as she shivered in his hold.
Come on Gavin...think back to DADA class, he reminded himself, his breathing heavy as his own fear started to rise. There has to be something the professor taught that could be useful in even a little way.
He bit his lip as she called his name once more, her tone pleading as he swallowed hearing the creatures mocking growl as if daring them to try anything that would just make their end come quicker. About to make his move Gavin felt Calla slip from his grasp as she fell, his arm quickly reattaching to her own to help her back to her feet, doing his best to keep his own step steady as he staggered just a little as he did.
"When I send the spell...run as fast as you can." he instructed her having an idea in mind to at least give them a head start. "3....2....1.."
"INCENDIO!"
He shouted sending the spell right infront of the werewolf and sending a long and high strip of fire along the grass of the field in hopes of stopping it in its tracks. Secretly hoping the whole field didn't go up or worse the garden as he took off after Calla.

Calla grasped him as he pulled her up. Her breathing was heavy and deep. She listened to his instruction and nodded in understanding. It seemed like hours until he sent the spell down the path. The fire was hot; it appeared it might just hold the werewolf a bit. She hesitated but then took off up the path.
She kept looking back to make sure the creature hadn’t crossed the line of fire. So far he hadn’t. She looked forward again and she realized they were still far from the porch. She pushed herself to go faster, go father.
She looked over her shoulder once more and saw that he came around the flames, and the fire had spread to the garden.
Turning her eyes back toward the cottage they were nearly there. “Gavin he’s through the fire!” She screamed the werewolf was gaining on them.
She knew the fire had to be put out. Holding her wand up, pointing behind her she screamed “Aguamenti” She held her wand towards the werewolf and fire for as long as she could.
They had reached the porch and she dropped her wand. The werewolf was only 50 yards off. She turned to Gavin, “If we go in he’ll just break in!” She knew they’d have to injure him, or something to stop his attack.

Gavin followed closely behind Calla as they both ran towards the cottage, not about to put the woman between him and the werewolf even though his stride gave him an advantage. To hell if Ryan thinks him too chivilrous for his own good.
Noting each time as she turned around to check the werewolf's progress towards them, he nearly prodded her on knowing that they needed to get to somewhere at least kinda safe before they could get offensive in their attacks lest the attacks anger the creature greatly and risk their lives more.
When Calla announced that it was through the fire, his heart very nearly stopped knowing they would have very little time left to do something. Speeding up. he reached the porch first as Calla turned to put the fire and the garden out, pulling her onto the porch as she lowered her wand.
She was right damn it he berated himself knowing the wood of the home would only keep him or her for so long before they got inside. Think Gavin.... he said to himself before his eyes caught sight of the dripping of the werewolf from Calla's spell.
"Use the spell again, Calla I have an idea," Gavin instructed as his mind raced for the right word. He'd have to be creative and hope to Merlin it worked.
"DESUMO! he shouted sending a spark from his wand towards the werewolf once his companion started the water spell again.

Calla's breathing was labored but again she nodded in understanding. She used both her hands to steady the wand. “Aguamenti”
She closed her eyes as the spark of electricity from Gavin's wand and the water from her's met at the werewolf and electrocuted him. He shook a bit and then fell to the ground. She didn't watch any of it unfold, but some how she had a sense that the werewolf was not a threat.
She opened her eyes and then lowered her wand just slightly. "So, is he dead?" Being that her father was muggle she knew what electricity and water did, but she wasn't sure if the thing was dead - or just unconscious.
She looked to Gavin, she wanted to fall into his arms, but thought better of it - she kept both hands on her wand and her wand pointed at the lifeless creature on the ground.
She couldn’t get off the porch to insepct because Gavin was standing between her and the steps. He probably did that on purpose. And like when he stepped in between her and Ryan she was fine with it. “What should we do with it?” She wasn’t sure if they needed to bury it, or what exactly. |

| Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna Unlike Calla, Gavin couldn't quite turn his attention away as the spells collided together when they hit the werewolf. The man watching it squirm as the shock did what it was supposed to do knocking it out and falling to the ground.
"I...don't think so," he answered trying to observe any telltale movement like breathing signs that would answer a definative yes or no meaning a closer look was in order. The one option he wasn't so sure of. "Just unconscious I believe. Hopefully until sun up," he added his own wand lowering.
As he glanced over at Calla to make sure she was alright, not having had the moment to as they ran, Gavin met her eyes as her own gaze fell upon him. A bit relieved that everything seemed ok, his breathing slowly returning to normal and not paying attention to his defensive position. Even though if it had come to that he sure as hell wasn't gonna let her get caught.
"Umm...do we have anything to tie it up with?" he questioned as the only idea popped into mind and he didn't know what the two woman had at the cottage or what was left by the previous owner.

Calla had never been so scared in her life. Some might call that sheltered, she called it damn lucky. She rather things not be scary or unexpected, except an occasional boutique of flowers or something. She was relieved that Gavin seemed to know what he was doing. Heck, he could have been faking everything and she’d be none the wiser.
She went from gazing at Gavin to the werewolf; there her eyes stayed as Gavin inspected it. She had never seen one up close, or even in real life – just in pictures. It was a disturbing looking creature to say the least.
Suddenly she realized Gavin was talking to her, “Huh?” Her head tilted to the side and then it occurred to her what he was asking for. Looking from left to right as if something would have been right there she continued, “Umm, I’m not sure. There’s anything well, there’s always this.”
She remembered a spell from school, she use to use it on her brother and sister a lot, “Incarcerous” With that ropes flew from the tip of her wand and entwined the creature. She felt very satisfied with herself.
Her smile slowly faded with her next question, “So, what happens now?” She wasn’t sure if they left the creature there, or should levitate him and take his body to the edge of the forest.

| Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna Gavin moved backwards back up the stairs, having gotten just a little closer to get a better look but not willing to move far from the safety of the house. He turned to glance at Calla as she responded, seeing the spell and wondering why he hadn't thought of it just of tying he creature with something tangible.
"Oh..well there is that," he replied with a gentle chuckle having forgotten that spell in the commotion, still not totally down from the adrenaline. He might have seemed together enough to think of things to do as they made their way back to the house but the man had been as worried as his companion. It wasn't everyday, you felt death and danger breathing down your neck.
"Now I think we move it back to the field on the other side and return indoors," Gavin answered, the grounds still very dark outside the porch where they both stood. "Help me levitate him as best we can away..." he added the spell setting alight a moment later from his wand as he spoke the incantation and grabbed hold, awaiting Calla's assistance.

Calla really didn’t want to come down off the porch. Stepping off the porch she let Gavin take her hand, and using her wand she helped levitate the creature.
She had a sudden urge to make him spin in the air, but thought Gavin wouldn’t think it nearly as funny as she did. “Ok so we’re aiming for the edge of the forest?” With that she got her baring, letting Gavin lead, and they send the animal toward the forest.
The werewolf at this time was barely visible in the moon light. “I suppose that’s far enough.”
Dropping her wand and concentration she felt weak. It had been an eventful evening to say the least. Her voice sounded weary. “Let’s head in.” The only thing she knew for sure was that she didn’t want to be outside right now. She tugged his hand (that she was still holding on to) toward the door.

| Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna Gavin felt more then saw Calla join him on the ground, his attention on the werewolf as if making sure he didn't awaken even if the shock should keep him out cold for a while. He took her hand as she extended it, giving it a gentle squeeze as he gave her a quick glance and nodded.
"Probably best," he mused, agreeing with her plan, "to keep as far away as we can." They walked off back towards the gazebo a bit, using the focused spell to carry the unconscious creature along with them. Stopping at a point not too far away from safety, both of them not sure of chancing anything and they dropped the werewolf to the ground.
Their task done, Gavin lowered her wand and turned back to his companion, looking her over again and noting she seemed a bit off. Well he wasn't even sure how he looked, knowing it had to show just a little at least. He nodded and let her pull him towards the house, following close beside her as they returned back to where they started.

She was exhausted; the trip all the way back up to the house and then up the stairs was quite daunting. Taking a deep breath she trudged on.
She looked to her companion, he looked as tired as she felt but even still he looked wonderful. Smiling inwardly (because she was too tired to make a smile) she looked toward the house. “This has been a long night hasn’t it?” She hadn’t intended for their evening to entail with a werewolf. Reaching the steps she looked up them, “Wow, it didn’t seem like so many before.”
She stopped and looked at him again, saying nothing for a moment. “Thank you for helping me.” She realized how absurd that sounded. I mean what would he have done? Leave her with a werewolf? But never the less, it felt right to say it.

"Neither did the distance from the gazebo to the house," he quietly mused.
He turned as she stopped, meeting Calla's gaze as she looked up at him once more, the man not having noticed her attention previously though. "Not a problem," he answered smiling softly at her, movig his hand gently from her grasp to rest around her as he noticed how tired she looked.
"Lets get you inside," he added helping her up the stairs as they walked, using his own strength and not trusting himself to be able to carry her like his first thiought.

She couldn't help but smile at him. "Yea we've definitely gotten our exercise in for today." Her eye lids felt heavy. Glancing up at the daunting stairs again she sighed. "Alright" she felt his arm come around her and they headed up stairs.
Opening the patio door she instantly felt safer. The smells from dinner were still lingering, with that she was glad she cleaned the kitchen earlier. Before stepping g through the door way she looked back over her shoulder, no sign of a werewolf. Phew!
Stepping inside she eyed the large fluffy couch. Making her way over to it she sat down, "Oh it feels nice to sit for a moment."
Closing her eyes she didn't realizing they stayed closed longer than a typical 'blink'. Inhaling deeply she opened her eyes, "What time is it hon?"
She patted the empty seat beside her, "Come sit down." She batted her eyes at him; she wasn’t ready for him to go. There wasn’t much between her and the werewolf, and she really didn’t want to be alone.

He moved to close the door, making sure it was secure behind them before moving further into the living space, wanting to be on the safe side in case anything more happened.
He couldn't help relaxing himself as he watched the woman sit down comfortable on the couch, glad to see she wasn't totally upset over everything that could have gone much worse. Gavin looked obediantly at his watch on his wrist to check the time, himself surprised that it was so late already.
"Coming up to 10:30," he answered, a part of him knowing he should really go seeing as it was so late, but the rest didn't feel comfortable leaving Calla especially alone with her roomate gone. Taking a breath he smiled at her look and moved to sit down beside her on the couch.

As he sat on the couch she repositioned herself leaning in to him and letting her body relax. “Wow, I had no idea it was so late.” Yaaaaaaawn! She stretched trying to wake herself up, it wasn’t working.
The werewolf incident made her uneasy and if Gavin were not here she would have found it impossible to sleep. She might have found her self at the leaky having a drink to pass the time – and place distance between her and the beast.
But, he was here with her and she snuggled closer to him. Closing her eyes and starting to drift off she mumbled, “Gavin I love you.” She was asleep before she fully finished the statement. Yes she loved him, well at least she was pretty sure she thought she did…. But by no means was she ready to tell him that.

| Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna Gavin slipped an arm around her as she moved closer to him once he was settled, feeling her body relax as Calla leaned against him. Using his free hand, he loosily covered his mouth as he echoed her yawn, the effect contagious.
As she snuggled close and spoke those three words, he was taken a bit back not having really expected them especially seeing as tonight was their first official date. But he had to admit his own feelings were certainly leading that way. Noting her eyes closed and softened breath, Gaving realised she was asleep and softly sighed. Guess that makes up my mind for me, he thought to himself, feeling comforted that Calla was calm enough with him around to be able to sleep. He waited for a little bit to ensure she remained asleep before gently shifting his hold to ease her into his arms better, lifting her up as he moved slowly to his feet.
Walking towards the other rooms, he could tell by the color which one was Calla's and entered quiet with her. Gavin eased the blankets back before laying her down, covering her up once he had slipped off her shoes.
"I love you too," he whispered lightly kissing her forehead before slipping back out of the room with the door cracked open before settling himself on the couch. His tall form stretched out over the cushions once his own feet were free from his shoes, falling asleep himself a short while later.

Calla stirred in her bed. She felt the sunshine pouring in the window and onto her face. Unsure of the time she turned over to see the clock. Quarter after 8. She settled back into her blankets closing her eyes. She usually didn’t sleep this late, but her body was sore from all the running and …. Wait a minute
She sat straight up in her bed, wincing a bit at her sore muscles, how did I get up here? Last she remembered she leaned into Gavin and falling asleep. She looked at herself, still in her clothing from yesterday.
She jumped out of the bed and crept to the living room where she could see his feet hanging off the couch. She quietly approached the couch; he stayed with her all night. Her heart melted. Such a gentlemen. She grabbed a blanket from the chair and put it over him.
Casting muffliato so not to disturb him she trotted off to her room and took a quick shower. She got dressed in a pair of comfortable jeans and a purple t-shirt with the words “I Heart Purple” on it.
Sneaking out of her room she saw he was still sleeping.
Quietly she went to the kitchen, made sure the spell had not worn off and started making breakfast. Bacon, eggs, toast and juice would be on the menu.

| Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna "Hmm," Gavin murmered softly as he felt the blanket laid gently over him yet remained asleep, the man having tired himself out more then he thought with the werewolf and their adventure. He remained asleep despite his companion's awareness thanks to the spell, finally awakening as the smells premeated from the kitchen.
Stretching as he awoke, he opened his eyes and saw the ceiling of an unfamiliar location and wondered for a moment where he was. The mystery was solved as he sat up from his spot on the couch and saw Calla busy making the breakfast that had helped wake him. Gavin couldn't help smiling at the scene, almost thankful he had slept in rather then his original plan of waking early and slipping home before she awoke.
He moved gradually to get up on his own stockinged feet before making his way to the island. "Morning," he said quietly, absently running a hand through his ruffled hair.
