This is an RP about the Marauders' first year at Hogwarts. I'm not sure where this is going to go; it's up to the various interpretations of the characters by the RPers involved. Unfortunately, all characters have been assigned.

James giggled as the pile of clothes on the floor of the compartment stirred as if it was alive, "James....James Potter," he said shaking Sirius's hand, "come on let's go before greasey unzips a jacket and climbs out," he said laughing and leading Sirius down the hall....

Severus cursed himself inwardly by focusing all of his attenetion on Sirius and not sparing a glance for the crowd. Now he was stuck under a pile of luggage without his wand. By the time he had struggled free, the crowd had dispersed and his wand was missing. Sneering, Severus stromed out of the compartment and began searching for Sirius.

*Sirius laughed along with his new pal, James, walked out of the car with him, Snape's wand still in hand. He pocketed it, knowing full well that Severus would be after him and his wand soon enough.Sirius rubbed the boils on his face. He needed to get them taken care of.*

"James..thanks for that back there. You're alright. But, I need to get these beauty marks removed before too many people see. "

*Sirius, with James tagging along, went and found Andromeda, who cured the boils with ease. She didn't ask too many questions and sent them on their way. Just as they were about to leave, Sirius held James back. Snape just flew by their car, looking murderous. Sirius went into fits of laughter. He pulled Snape's wand out and showed it James, a wide evil grin stretching across his face.*

Having reached the end of the train and not seeing Sirius in any of the eastside compartments, Severus walked back down, peering into the westside compartments. He spotted Sirius and the boy from earlier in the next compartment. Severus schooled his expression and walked inside. He held out a hand and sneered, "My wand..."

James looked at Severus as he damanded his wand from Sirius, he made sure his hand was on his own as he said, "now Severus are you going to be a good boy and put your wand away until we get to Hogwarts...if so...um" he looked over at Sirius and nodded, "yes I think we can give it back to you....."

"Yeah...I guess your right James. Surely Pastey can keep his wand to himself for a while now."

*Sirius made a dramatic movement to hand over the wand to Severus, but as Snape went to grab for it, Sirius pulled it back quickly. *

"You know..I think I changed my mind.*He said plainly* I don't he deserves it yet. You can have it back when I see that you have calmed your little puny self down, and don't have that murderous look in your eye. So..go on now..go back and hang out with that cousin of mine. " Sirius said as he mocked him and shooed him away, knowing full well that Snape wasn't going to stand for not having his wand.*

Severus reached for his wand and nearly toppled over when it ws wrenched from his tenuous grasp. He sneered at the boy and crossed his arms, knowing that Sirius wanted him to either try and grab for the wand or stalk off. "Could it be that you are afraid of me?" he asked, a smirk replacing the sneer.

*SIrius looked down at the boy. Why on earth wouldn't he be afraid of him? He had already managed to throw him the train car twice and cover his face in boils..and they hadn't even been to a single class yet. But it would be a cold day down under before Sirius even showed the slightest inclination towards that. Besides, Sirius had the upper hand at the moment anyways. He was much larger..and much stronger..and had two wands. Not to mention a new sidekick.*

Sirius took a deep breath. " Do I look like I'm scared of you?" Sirius stepped up closer to the boy."If I remember right..you were the one snivelling in the corner.."

He wasn't about to dignify that remark with anything but a sneer. "Well then, if you aren't afraid of me, why don't you give me back my wand?" he asked, inching back away from the larger boy.

Severus didn't want Sirius to think he was afraid of him, but he wasn't stupid. Sirius had him at a disadvantage and Severus wasn't a reckless fool. He knew his limitations and could compromise a little bit of his pride in order to stay in one piece.

"I'm not giving it back because I don't want to be thrown from the car again. I know your type all to well Severus. I have just met you and I know you aren't to be trusted. So..like I said, run along and play with Bells, before I decide to pound some more on your face. "

*Seeing that the boy had no intentions still of leaving without his wand, Sirius took things into his own hands. He went and very firmly wrapped his arm around the boy's shoulders, pinning his arms beside, and started pushing him back towards the car with Bella in it.*

"Come along little Snivellus, I'll show you the way. I am just way too nice of a guy. Don't you think so? I know Bella will be impressed by my generosity." Sirius said in a very sweet, but sarcastic tone. At arriving to the car, Sirius gave Severus a good shove back into his seat.

Severus tried to get lose, but soon found out it was no use. He hadn't spent his time outdoors playing with the other children. He'd been holed up inside learning how to be a real wizard from books and his parents. So, in addition to being shorter than this Sirius, Snape was also quite a lot smaller, some might even go so far as to call him lanky or skeletal.

He smacked his head against the side of the car as Sirius shoved him in a seat. Seething with rage and embarrassment, Severus sneered at the boy in the doorway, avoiding the eyes of the cackling witch still seated across from him. That Sirius Black would rue the day he ever crossed paths with Severus Snape, he thought to himself.

Remus got swept down the corridor as the crowd dispersed, feeling a bit like one of those fish swimming up stream that he had once read about. He fought against the crowd and finally made his way back to the car that Sirius had been blown out of, only to discover that Sirius was gone. A pretty, pale girl sat alone in there, looking like she couldn't decide if she was amused or annoyed. He didn't stick around to find out.

Searching the halls, Remus couldn't find where Sirius had gone. He was resolved to just bite the bullet and go sit with Lily and Maeve for whatever time was left, when he witnessed Sirius and the shaggy-haired boy frog marching a much smaller boy down the hall. He wanted to protest their actions, but he had seen Sirius's face covered in boils earlier and suspected this boy was somehow responsible. After they shoved him into the compartment, the boys discovered Remus standing behind them.

Bella smirked as Severus stumbled back into the carriage, but it turned quickly to a glower as she realized her cousin wasn't leaving again. He was above and beyond annoying. "Thanks for the delivery, Siri... you can go." She waved dismissively. She directed her next comment at the other two. "And you two can go as well." The boys looked around in surprise and noticed Remus behind them.

"Remus!" Sirius exclaimed. "Where have you been? You missed out on all the fun." He said nodding towards Severus. "Wait...wait just a second. Where on earth have my manners that my sweet mother taught me gone? Let's all get aquainted here." Sirius said as he put his arm around Remus. THen he started going around the car, naming off everyone in an orderly fashion. "Ok..this is James, I think you have already met him...and this is Severus "Snivellus" Snape-you have to watch him, he's puny but he's got spunk. And last but definantly not least, my cousin Bellatrix. Everyone..this is Remus." Sirius said with a huge grin and his arm still around Remus's shoulder.

Remus gave a half smile to James, who nodded at him. He took in the two further in the car as well. The boy scowled at being called spunky and the girl raised an eyebrow at her... cousin, was it? Her look clearly said, 'And I care because...?'

"I was going to say something about being sorry to miss the hexing, but I have a feeling that isn't really over yet, is it? No offense, Sirius, but I don't think the safest place for me to stand it behind you. Your friend... Snape? He looks like he might be a crack shot, but you never know."

James looked at Remus, he recognized him from the food cart, "well, this is going to be an interesting term," he said to the gathering.....I assume you are going into Slytherin greasey," pointing towards Severus, "but what about the rest of you, any thoughts about what house you'd like to be in?"

*Sirius looked over to James. Was he trying to keep things civil in the car? Probably so. Sirius highly doubted this was going to work, so he got the ball rolling again. *

"Yeah no doubt Pastey will be in Slytherin...along with this lot." He said as he pointed at Bella. "I'm not sure about myself..." he said running a hand through his shaggy hair. "As long as I don't have to sleep next to that creep, I don't much care." He said pointing at Snape, and twirling Snape's wand through his fingers.

Severus glared at all the people gathering in the compartment. He had an extra sneer for the messy-black haired boy and Sirius. "I wouldn't want you in my house either," he said. Severus stood up and reached for his wand, which Sirius had begun to flaunt.

*Sirius knew that flaunting Snape's wand would get another rise out of him..and that's exactly what Sirius wanted. Snape reached for his wand and Sirius pulled it back again.*

"Settle down there Fiesty britches. I'll give you your wand back later. Just sit back and enjoy the scenery." Sirius said as he firmly sat Severus back in his seat, and took a seat close to Bella himself, grinning widely to her.

James decided that all this tension was making him tired, he wanted to see the rest of the train also so he told the crowd he'd see them later, "and Sirius," he added, "go easy on Greasey there, I hate to have to come and bail you out again," he giggled and waved to them all and left the compartment in search of that red head he had seen earlier...

Bella sneered as Sirius sat down next to her. "I think we've been through this before, cousin," she said nastily. "I don't want to catch watever strange form of insanity you have." He inched closer to her in order to annoy her, and she rolled her eyes at his short-sightedness.

She put out one hand out as if to push him away, and he moved his own hands in to prevent her move. Bella grinned at him as she grabbed the wand smoothly out of his hand and tossed it to Severus in one smooth movement. Sirius was stunned by her grin just long enough, and his lunge for the wand was a clear miss. "I think you'll be sorted into Hufflepuff with the rest of the Duffers," she said in a patronizing tone. "You clearly don't belong in Slytherin."

Severus caught his wand as Bellatrix tossed it. "Petrificus Totalis," he incanted as soon as he could point his wand after hving caught it. He wasn't taking any chances this time. "Thanks," he smirked at Bellatrix and pushed the stiff form of Sirius onto the floor and out of the way.

Remus stood in the doorway, somehow forgotten by everyone in the car. He sighed in exasperation. Maybe he didn't want to be friends with a hot-head like Sirius. He was basically a walking, talking death wish. Oh, well... the boy had befriended him earlier, and he needed help now. There was no telling what these two would do with him.

"Don't move," he ordered, his wand drawn on them. They both looked at him in disbelief. "Expelliarmus!" Severus's wand flew to him and he caught it neatly. "What? You thought you were the only one who knew a few spells? I got bored reading up on first year spells. I'm going to let Sirius up, and you're going to let us leave. And then... I'll give you your wand back." Remus would, too... he had a keen sense of honor that was probably a result of trying to out-balance his Darkness with good.

Severus was surprised a second time that day by his lack of interest in those around him. He was so wrapped up in dealing with Sirius that he had forgotten that there might still be people at the door. He sneered at the sickly-looking boy who stood holding his own and Severus' wand. He doubted the boy, Remus?, would give him his wand back if he was friends with the likes of Sirius. And he didn't trust Sirius to just walk out with this boy who was not much larger than himself, either.

"I'd drag him outside, first, if you don't mind," he sneered, kicking at Sirius' stiff body.

Remus actually laughed. "You want me to turn my back to you?" he questioned. "She still has her wand..." he pointed to Bella, who quickly put her hand back into her lap and tried to look innocent. "You pull him out into the corridor. I'll end the spell. I'll give you your wand. You'll go back into the compartment. We'll leave. Its easy." He looked pointedly at Severus and then waved the boy's wand.

Bella scowled. She had been reaching for her wand when this boy looked right at her. He was small... not short, but appearing quite scrawny, and she had let herself be fooled by physical appearances. He and Severus were both lessons to her not to fall into that trap. She waited to see what Severus would do.
