This is an RP about the Marauders' first year at Hogwarts. I'm not sure where this is going to go; it's up to the various interpretations of the characters by the RPers involved. Unfortunately, all characters have been assigned.

Coming across a particularly intested new curse, Severus began muttering under his breath and moving his wand hand. He was so wrapped up in what he was doing, he was completely unaware of anyone else in the compartment or that he was even on a train at all...

An hour or so later, the silence was broken by the opening of the compartment door. A woman with a trolley full of sweets stood outside.

*Sirius stood as the red haired girl turned all her attention to him and moved over to the window. Sirius was from a long line of rich and powerful pure-bloods, and all he had ever known was that Muggle-borns were the skum of the earth. But as he looked at this very lovely and warm young girl, he just couldn't understand that reasoning. She seemed ok enough to Sirius. *

"I wouldn't be surprised if I were put in Slytherin. All my family thus far has been there..though, I don't think that is the worst house. Hufflepuff..now that is the sissy house, and NO Black is a sissy..." He said with his usual mischeivious grin.

Lily stood quiet kinda embarrased at what she said to Sirus, "Oh Hufflepuff."Lily nodded, "I read a brief history of each and I wouldn't mind being in either one...except well yes." She said with a smile nervous laugh. "But the house that I would really wanna be in is Gryffindor, or Ravenclaw." She said with a proud smile, "I'd be very disappointed if not, but I guess there is nothing I could do." She added looking at the other boy Remus, "What about you?" Lily asked.

"Don't be embarrased Lily." He said cooly as he watched her cheeks blush. "I didn't say I wanted to be in Slytherin..I said that that's where I would probably be put. Although, *he said as moved in close to her, throwing on the Black charm* "I do have this one cousin that was put in Gryffindor..and I am a lot like her. So maybe we'll be put in that House together. You and me. My parents may disown me, but who really cares anyhow. Not me..."

*Sirius had created a weird silence. Then some old lady came in with a cart full of treats. Sirius looked around at the other two, then bought one of each thing.*

"It's on me" He said as he ushered Lily to take a seat beside him. She seemed a little awkward around him..but she was beautiful and Sirius just couldn't help himself. He handed her a pumpkin pastry, and threw Remus the Chocolate Frog.*

Remus looked away as Sirius flirted with the girl Lily. He wasn't very good around girls... mostly because he hadn't spent much time with them. He did alright with boys, although he certainly didn't have amazing people skills. He opened the chocolate frog slowly, to take time to answer Lily's question. It made a fantastic leap, and he grabbed it mid-air and bit off one leg.

He shrugged. "I don't care what house I get into," he said a bit more roughly than he intended. He was so embarrassed that this Muggle-born girl knew more about Wizarding school than he did. He continued to stare at the frog in his hand as the chocolate melted into a smear on his hand.

Lily was never the girl that was approached to by a boy so she rather flushed as Sirus became charming towards her. He gave a pastry as she examined it, she never had wizard sweets, after putting a bit in her mouth she rather enjoyed it. Lily looked over at the boy Remus as he was eating what seemed to be a chocolate frog, Lily jumped as the frog sprang up and he bit his leg. "Oh I see..." She said as Remus looked rather smugly at him, he looked like he didn't like her much for some reason. Lily just shrugged it off and continued to eat her pastry. "These are rather good." She exclaimed to Sirus who was extremely friendly to her.

James had been wondering up and down the hall outside the compartments since the train had left Platform Nine and Three Quarters, he came upon one that had only two occupants, and boy and a girl, he opened up the door and said, "hi, can I sit in here with the two of you?"

Severus sneered at the newcomer from over the top of his book. He looked vaguely familiar, but he couldn't quite place where he'd seen him before. "If you insist," he said, absorbing himself in his book once more.

James wasn't sure why the boy in the room sounded so snotty but didn't care, but he decided to ask the girl if she minded if he sat down, "I'm sorry do you mind if I sit?"

Bella looked the new boy up and down. He was a little unkempt, with messy black hair and glasses, but his robes were high quality and he gave off an air of money and power. Useful, and certainly worthy company.

She smiled at him warmly. She knew how to use her pretty face to get the things she wanted. "Of course," she said and gestured to the seat beside her. "I'm Bellatrix Black. You can call me Bella of course."

Maeve Kelley hurriedly boarded the train for Hogwarts, having almost missed it. She always seemed to be running late for things. Or running into things, she thought as she almost collided with an attendant scurrying down the aisle. Maeve dragged a heavy suitcase behind her, having had no time to store it beneath the train.

She wandered down the aisle, looking for an empty compartment. They were all full of course, and she cursed herself for being so disorganized. Just when she thought she'd have to settle herself in the middle of the aisle, she noticed a compartment containing two boys who looked her age and a girl with red hair, quite similar to her own.

Maeve took a deep breath and tried to flatten the slightly-fuzzy auburn hair that had crept out of her plaits. She caught the reflection of her clear blue eyes in the window in front of her before she opened the compartment's door.

"Is there an extra seat in here?" she asked, and carried her bulky suitcase in clumsily after her.

"Only the best for you Miss Evans of course.....anything else for you Remus?" Sirius said smoothly after throwing back a handful of Every Flavor Beans. "You'll have to let me show you around the wizarding world sometimes, Lily. " Just then another firey red-head entered the car. Sirius showed his manners, and went to greet her.

"Sure you can join us. Let me get that for you. " Sirius took her bag and put it up where it belonged. "This is Remus and Lily, and I am Sirius. It's an absolute pleasure to meet you, MIss?"

Remus stifled a groan. Another girl was invading their space. He finished the frog and wiped his hand on his robe before opening his book back up. He might not know anything YET, but he would. He'd know a lot. He's try to know everything. That way, when he had to go away for the full moon, it wouldn't matter so much. He buried himself in the text about first year transfiguration spells, knowing he'd lost Sirius's attention and had no hope of gaining the girls' with Sirius there to entertain them.

"Kelley," she finished for him. "Maeve Kelly. Lovely to meet you, Sirius." She looked over to the others and smiled at the boy who had greeted her. He seemed friendly enough, but she had to keep in mind what her mother had told her at the train-station. She mustn't let herself get too involved with boys. She needed to concentrate on her grades, and other 11-year-old girl activities.

She pulled hard at her suitcase, and it followed her into the compartment. Maeve leaned it against the wall and took a seat beside the silent boy, Remus. She met Sirius' gaze again and, folding her arms over her chest, she shifted her eyes down to the book that Remus was reading.

"Kelley. Miss Maeve Kelly. Nice name. Welcome aboard." Sirius went and took his seat beside Lily again, across from Remus and the new arrival of Miss Kelley. He chucked a pumpkin pastry over to Maeve, and smiled.

"So Remus...do you have any family? Brothers, sisters? Tell me and these lovely ladies about yourself. There will be plenty of time to study later..talk to us."

Remus felt her eyes on his book, and his own rose to meet them. She was a cute little thing, and he found his eyes back on his book to avoid her gaze. "Transfiguration," he said and closed the book over his finger again.

"I live with my mum and dad in Wales," Remus said trying to vague. "We live out in the middle of nowhere, which is grand for flying your broom, but not good for much else. My parents both went to Hogwarts, and I don't have any brothers or sisters." He hoped that was sufficient to cover their curiosity. "Do you play Quidditch?"

"Do I play Quidditch? Of course I play Quidditch. I'm not great..but, I'm pretty nifty as a beater. My brother and I play a good bit..he's a bit younger than I am, Regulus. "

*Sirius looked over to Lily who looked completely lost at the mention of Quidditch. Then gave all his attention to boy across from him. Sirius wasn't sure what it was about Remus, but he had already grown rather fond of him, and was really curious about him.*

Maeve took a bite of the pastry that Sirius had thrown at her. She watched the two boys talk about sports, with a slight scowl on her face. She was considering taking the book from Remus' hands. Even a Transfiguration textbook would be more interesting than this.

She looked around, hoping to catch the eye of the other girl, who remained silent. Maeve smiled at her, and twiddled her thumbs.

Lily seemed to be into her pastry as the girl came in and sat down. Finally noticing the girl was bored and since Lily had finished her pastry she looked up and smiled at the girl, "Hello." She said. "I'm Lily Evans by the way, and I know nothing about quidditch." She said with a slight smile, Lily still had alot to learn from the wizarding world.

"I didn't have anyone to play with," Remus admitted regretfully. "But I've always liked flying. I'm looking forward to our flying class. I'm looking forward to all our classes," he said with earnest excitement.

Remus noticed the girls were bored with their Quidditch talk, but they seemed to be able to occupy themselves, which was a relief.

Harry looked a little put off by the expression on the boy's face, "hmmm well...Severus is it...do you play Quidditch?"

James frowned at the boy's repsonse, "well yea, I am, I played a lot at home outside Godric's Hollow, we had a full sized pitch an all, but I've heard that first years are allowed to have brooms at Hogwarts, so I guess I'll only get to ride around the holidays.....so what you're reading...Severus?
