It was the middle of the year, in the newly opened and magical international school, and a group of picked students were offered the chance - the chance of a lifetime, mind I add - to go to Egypt to study for a semester. The students agree to the "study abroad" and were immediately packed and whisked away to Egypt.

They arrived in the newly renovated town - a town that was built on the ancient city of Hamunpatra, or, as you may know it, the city of the Dead. The students are psyched to get started exploring the tombs, and they instantly get to work.

However, during a sandstorm, a tomb was uncovered. The Tomb of Anubis. People thought Anubis was a god, but in fact, they didn’t know he actually walked on the earth, once, many thousands of years before.

The group of students eagerly enter the tomb, excited that they found what they thought was a tomb that never existed, they set to work, exploring the many rooms of the maze of the tomb.

They soon find, however, a book of hieroglyphics, which fortunately, one of the students could translate. What did the student translate? Why, "The Book of the Dead".

The students go back to the inn they were staying at, talking about what happened that day, vowing they wouldn’t tell anyone what they found unless they were certain it was the God’s tomb. They all agreed happily, then continued their conversation.

But for the next few days, odd things were happening. The students find out that they can’t use magic anymore, and horrible things kept happening to the locals. In a desperate attempt to find out what was happening, one of the students did some research, and came up with a theory. The Ten Plagues of Egypt were happening all over again, and there was another ancient book that was connected with "The Book of the Dead" called, "The Book of the Living," They find out that the Book of the Dead gives the dead life, while the Book of the Living takes life away.

Now, the students must figure how to stop the Ten Plagues and the killings, and figure out how to get their hands on the Book of the Living, to try and save all of Egypt.

Samantha nodded and stopped by two girls who were talking. She waited for a lull in the conversation and then introduced herself. "Hi, I'm Samantha." she smiled.

Jaeke glanced at the newly recruited person - Tom - who didn't talk yet. He seemed a bit anti-social, but.. eh, he seemed a lot better than the people Jaeke talked, er, FOUGHT with already.

He grabbed his luggage back, dumping off everyone else's, then, on the way to the tents labeled their school names and names, he passed Alina. "No, it sucks," he corrected her, frowning. "Too many people. They'll get everything before we do." With that, Jaeke went into the tent [ it holds 4 people, which, coincidentally, is the amount of girls and boys equally in the group, so one tent holds the boys, while the next one holds the girls. ] Picking a bed and dumping his stuff on it, Jaeke snatched a note that was fluttering from the small breeze and quickly scanned it.

He entered the desert again, already sweating, and came to a stop infront of the group. "Looks like we're on our own for now," he announced, holding the note. The note said how the Professor and Archeologist got stuck in Cairo, and wouldn't be here for a couple of days. "Guess I'm your new leader," he declared, grinning smugly.

Samantha glanced up and stared at Jaeke. "May I see that note?" she asked, holding out her hand. "Does it appoint you as the leader or are you just appointing yourself?" she smirked.

Jaeke snatched it away, then cocked his head to the side and smiled smugly. "It appointed me," he said, before stuffing it in his pocket. "Plus. I doubt you'll read heiroglyphics. I checked your backrounds. I'm the only one that knows how 'cause I'm a descendant from the Pharoh." Man, Jaeke loved to brag about that. He stood up tall, then started barking out orders. "Okay. Everyone put their stuff in their tents and report back here pronto. Oh. And you'll refer to me as "master Jaeke". Get it? Got it? Good. Now scram." With that, Jaeke went over to an unused chair and sat down on it, over-looking everything and everyone.

Samantha gave a barking laugh. "Do you realize how arrogant you sound?" she snapped. She couldn't help it. Normally a mild-mannered person, there was something about him that just got to her. "I, and I'm sure that the rest, am not interested in calling you anything but a few choice words!" she said, her eyes narrowing.

Jaeke raised his gaze lazily at her, then flashed her a grin. "Babe, arrogant is my middle name. Do you think I care what little girls like you call me?" He paused, then added, "Now. Refuse again to your master and be punished." He stopped, as his eyes travelled to a whip and guns that one of the Egyptians probably carried. He stared at it for a moment, before flicking his gaze back to her and smirking. "Whips, perhaps?"

Samantha followed his gaze and her eyes flashed with an unidentifiable emotion when she heard his reply. She clenched her jaw. "First, do not call me babe. Secondly, I am not a little girl" she spat out. "And finally, you have no business threatening me or anyone else here!" she gestured angrily.

Lori patted Sam's shoulder gently to calm her down. Who did this Jaeke think he was? She rolled her eyes and said, "Jaeke, you may prove to be leader and all, but you have no right to threaten us,"

She gritted her teeth dangerously and decided it was best not to speak to him throughout the trip at all to prevent any...unwanted...injuries on his part. She didn't only take linguistics, but karate was another area of expertise on her list.

Samantha relaxed slightly as she felt a pat on her shoulder. Hearing the girl speak, she realized it was Lori. She was glad that she had stepped up to back her up. Jaike was definitely not going to be Mr. Popular on this trip.

After everyone had gone Seth went up to Jaeke, they'd met before and were good mates so Seth felt like he needed to say something.

"Jaeke, you're being an idiot and it's gunna get you in to a lot of trouble. No such wratch as a woman scorned and all that." He muttered to his friend before going to dump his stuff in the tent. He looked around and saw that the place was pretty basic, not that he had expected much more for the middle of the desert in Egypt anyway.

Tom smirked as he heard their newly appointed leader declare his masterhood. For some odd reason, he found it amusing, intriguing perhaps, how this Jaeke behaved. To Tom's mind, it must have meant Jaeke had much more to reveal than the others. And then again, being arrogant and bossy had to have a basis in one's records, and it must have meant that the bloke was worth his position. Or so it seemed at the time.
Placing his travelling bag elegantly on one of the beds, he emerged from the tent, one jacket less, without losing grace. Tom glanced around - there appeared to be more girls than guys, or in any case, the girls were standing out more. He shrugged and waited for the bickering to end - or be left to another time - so that they could perhaps get a move on.

Lori squeezed Sam's shoulder gently, turning away from Jaeke. Seing the look on her face, she nodded in understanding. "Who does that Jaeke think he is?" she scoffed, transferring a seat away from him. The only thing tht really blew her top were direspectful men.

Her gaze then fell to Seth. She neither smiled nor frowned, but remained mellow. Now there was a sensible-looking guy. He didn't look like the type to insult anyone, but she shook all these thoughts off, remembering not to judge abook by its cover.

"I didn't understand them, believe me." Roslyn said to Teresa. As she placed her luggage into the tent, she heard Jaeke ordering people around. She walked out of the tent and stood with Lori and Sam.

"Who do you think you are? Just because you're a descendant of a pharaoh does not mean you have the authority! Master Jaeke? I can think of a few other names I could call you right now, but that is NOT one of them! We are here to do things equally! And where do you get off threatening us. We haven't been here a few hours and you've already threatened to break my arm and whip Sam!" Roslyn shouted at Jaeke. She was seeing red. She could not believe she had met such a arrogant idiot, who was far up himself, she was surprised he could even give out orders.

Jaeke got up from his seat, as he walked steadily but surely to Roslyn. "Just because I'm a descendant from the pharoh, doesn't mean I have the authority," he mocked her, before narrowing his eyes. "Get real. The pharoh's dead. My father doesn't care - which means, I AM the next pharoh.Which also means, I DO have the authority, and with you.. you peasant speaking to me like that WILL get you whipped. Now shut up and put your bags down." Jaeke stalked off after that, as he went to go talk to an Egyptain man. He was pointing to the group and frowning, whispering something, before nodding and flashing a grin and coming back towards the group, his face still in the grin but saying nothing.

Thomas turned to face Jaeke as the guy returned from his mysterious talk with the Egyptian. His voice came out slightly throaty as he spoke, for it had been quite a while since he had used it, but there was an impatience in his tone which rendered it unable to be mocked at:
"Something we should know?"
He waited neatly for the response, still pondering whether Jaeke's behaviour was just an act or his recurrent nature.

Jaeke glanced at Tom, raising an eyebrow. He glanced at the Egyptian, then shrugged. "I was just asking how to get to the tombs," he said simply, his grin lowering. "That's all... who're you?" He asked, blinking. He narrowed his eyes, before adding, "Are you from our school? I've never seen you before.."

Ooc: Short post, but I gotta jet to swim meet practice.

Tom arched an eyebrow in response, as well. For once, Jaeke seemed to act normally - almost ideally - in fact. Shrugging casually, he responded:
"I am. Though it's understandable why you haven't seen me before. I've been on and off school, most of the times receiving private tutoring. Had to adjust to parents' desire of scenery change."
He snorted, as if to sum up by that all the haughtiness and snobbery which prevailed in his family.

Christian had made himself watch the other as they spoke, faught ahd discussed. He had over listened to a few words of every conversation without meaning to be rude but the person that had managed to get his attention was Jaeke. Next pharao... that had to be great, but the boy had also gotten christians attention because of his behavior. He really did belive he had all the power amongst them... a very typical royal child.

HE stood in the back of the group, last and almost aone, his eyes watching and his memory remembering it all. Even when he had a bad memory... He could not wait to get in to the tombs and start the research.

Seth came back out of the tent and walked over to the group, he saw the hostility in people's eyes as they looked at Jaeke. Part of him wanted to defend his friend's actions but sometimes they were hard to justify.

"How about we all have some time to get settled in, make sure we all know each other and then think about exploring. We've got a long time here, we might as well know our way around." He said, trying to ease the tension in the group.

Roslyn glared after Jaeke with hate she had never felt before. If he was the next pharaoh, what was he doing on this trip? Shouldn't be someone signing something? She was about to head back to her tent when she heard Seth talking about knowing each other.

"Are you sure that's alright with our master?" She said sarcastically, glancing at Jaeke.

Jaeke studied Tom, then shrugged. "That's nice," he said simply, tilting hishead. He looked back at where everyone was talking about him, then went over and sat in a chair. "'Course it's alright with me," he said, before gesturing to other chairs around him. He was under the shade of another tent. "I'll start." He paused, then said, "'Names Jaeke. Call me Master Jaeke. If you refuse, you'll get hurt. I am the next pharoh, and if you stand in my way, I WILL knock you down. Got it? Who's next?"

"I'll go next." Seth said as he took a seat next to Jaeke. "I'm Seth, as some of you already know. Unlike Jaeke here I'm no Pharoah or any part royalty, much too stuffy a job for me. I'm into sports and outdoorsy things, if you need a hand with anything feel free to ask me. I'm also the person who will make sure Jaeke pulls his weight on this trip." He turned to his friend. "Pharoah-to-be or not, you're not in charge yet mate and I'm going to take advantage of that while I can!"

Jaeke stuck his tongue out at his best friend, then made a face. "I am so in charge. Read it," he said, taking the note and thrusting it at Seth. In a moment, he pulled back, then snickered. "Oh wait. You can't," he said, putting it back in his pocket. "You can't translate heiroglyphics, can you? No. Only I can. Hmmph," he finished, boosting his ego and glancing around. "Who's next?"

"How do you know I haven't learn heiroglyphics? And in fact if no-one else here can read it then how do we know it says you're the leader!" Seth joked, he didn't mind Jaeke making fun of him it was how their friendship worked, and Seth wasn't an academic anyway. "Don't worry Jaeke, I'll get you back when I make you race me..you know you'll lose on that one!" He taunted his best mate, everyone else could hate Jaeke all they wanted but he and Seth had an understanding and a mutual bond of respect which had grown into friendship. Seth was the only one who could tolerate Jaeke and Jaeke was the only one who could put up with Seth's competitive and athletic nature compared to everyone elses academic nature.

Teresa put a hand on Roslyn's shoulder. 'Better ignore idiots than waste your voice and thoughts on them' She whispered on her friend's ear with a grin. She looked at Seth, he seemed to be a nice guy, one of those who aren't seen every day. She didn't know how such an idiot like Jaeke could have such a amazing and caring friend. It was really weird. She kept her mouth shut as the two friends spoke, maybe, just maybe Seth would make the other guy think twice on how he was treating everyone. Pharao's descendent or not he had no right of doing anything to them and if he actually tried than he would have to deal with a bunch of mad people, or at least, girls.
