Ethan was looking at Minerva, but his mind was a million miles away. This was something that he had thought about - he didn't want Gunnar to be an only child - but that was a more in the future type of thinking. They were still young, Gunnar was still really little, would they be able to handle another baby right now? He thought it might be difficult, but there really wasn't a choice in the matter. They were going to have another baby and he could see it for the good thing it was, even if it was a huge shock right now. "Six weeks.." he repeated, slowly nodding in thought. Must be morning sickness then. He wasn't really around for it the last time, but he figured this was about the right time for that sort of thing. And the healer meant that it was confirmed, he got that, but what he didn't get was why she was wiping at her eyes. "Why are you crying?" Was it a hormone thing already or something else?

He felt her hand in his and he squeezed back, smiling a little bigger as he looked at her. "Sometimes life has other plans," he said with a shrug. He knew that to be true already. "Yeah, there's that," he nodded, agreeing about the closeness in age and he tried to estimate real quick in his head just how close they might be. "My cousins, Luc and Claudette, are about that close in age. They're really close.. yeah I think that would be a good thing." It might be hard in some ways, but good in other ways, he thought maybe. "Do you know when you are due?" Maybe the healer would have told her today then.

Ethan nodded a bit. "Oh I know. We'll figure out a way to make things work." He wasn't too worried about it financially. It might make things a little tighter, but he was sure they would be okay. He chuckled as she said it was a shock. That it was, but not a bad one. "It is.. it is a great thing," he smiled before leaning in to kiss her, then he put his arms around her, holding her close while she seemed to get nauseous again. "I do have to ask though.. that potion.. I guess it didn't work?" It obviously didn't matter now, but he did wonder.

Minerva wiped at her face a bit more and nodded as he repeated the six weeks. She tried to think about four weeks, but she really couldn’t place it so it was irrelevant anyway. Gunnar’s long nights from teething had her so frazzled that she wasn’t surprised really. She couldn’t remember anything lately other than what was immediately needed. Her blue eyes looked up to his question and she smiled. “Emotional I guess. Maybe a bit from hormones, but just I worried about what you were going to think, I’m nervous, happy, excited, just everything all at once. "

“Life seems to always have other plans for us doesn’t it?” She chuckled, though she had liked life’s plan for them so far so why not let this follow in it’s path. “This is going to be great really. A little brother or sister for Gunnar and a new baby. Everything will be just great.” She was grinning so much at that. It was going to be great. She was excited about this. She knew that his cousins were close in age so she just nodded, “Think how great that will be. Maybe not when they are younger and possibly fighting, but older they can look out for each other.” With his question about due date she got up and went towards her purse. Pulling out one of those little small pictures she had showed him when she told him about Gunnar. “She said around February 26.” Sitting back down, she handed him the little image. Not bothering to really point anything out he had seen one before.

She was so relieved as he seemed happy and a bit excited about this too. It made her relax and not as crazy know he was alright with the new addition. Resting her head on his chest as he held her she closed her eyes letting the feeling pass. When her eyes lifted at his question. “Oh it usually does, but I think my nerves tonight just over powered it.” Closing her eyes again it hit her what he was really talking about. She lifted her head to look at him. “Oh, I was thinking the sickness potion. You were meaning.. No it probably worked fine if I remembered to take it. I think I had forgotten a few times from being up all night with Gunnar teething. This is my fault.” She did feel bad knowing she screwed up, but at the same time she was happy with the screw up.

Emotional. Yes, Ethan supposed he could understand how it could be in addition to the hormones. As long as she wasn't upset. He didn't like that kind of crying. He nodded a little in understanding, though he wasn't sure he would completely understand not going through the whole hormone thing. "Alright.." he said with a small smile, his arm loosely around her and gently rubbing her back. "It is kind of a lot to take in, isn't it?" He wasn't sure that he was over the initial shock yet, but he was starting to accept it as a realization.

"It sure seems that way," he chuckled as he pulled her a little closer against him. He thought over her words as she spoke them, envisioning the scenario a little bit and smiling wistfully. "Yeah, I think you're right. It will be great to have a little brother or sister for Gunnar." And a new baby for them of course. Even if it might be a little hard, it did have its good points. He did always wonder what it would have been like to have a brother or sister. And he nodded, in thought, as she talked about what it could be like, watching as she got up to go to her purse. A picture. Or the best they could do with the baby being that small. But this somehow made it even more real. Ethan stared at it for a moment, a faint smile soon appearing as he chuckled. This one looked like a tiny little peanut too. "That seems.. far away yet.." It did, but he knew from last time that it would go fast.

She seemed to need another minute to let the nausea feeling past and he just held her quietly as he rubbed her back. Until he gave her a curious look at her words. What... oh. Not the nausea potion and he nodded as she understood what he meant. "Oh. No, don't say it's your fault.. just one of those things that happen, I guess. We'll make it work." They were having another baby and that was all there was to it. No need for what ifs now.

Minerva looked up into his green eyes and smiled, “It is” She had a few days to figure it all out really even if it was just confirmed this afternoon. “but it’s going to be a great thing.” she truly believed that. Did he realize how happy she was over this? She wasn’t sure that was being expressed with the way she was feeling.

Resting her head on him as he put his arms around her Min smiled, “It really will be great for Gunnar. He’s going to be a big brother. I’ll have to get him a super cute shirt.” She knew he would look adorable in one of those Big Brother shirts. Her thoughts started going to wondering if this little one would be a girl or a boy. They would have to start thinking of names again how exciting. Looking up at him she frowned a bit, “We aren’t going to have enough room again.” They had just done the renovations to extend the cottage for Gunnar. Maybe if this one was a boy they could just share a room. He was right though, “yeah we have time to process and figure things out.” Thankfully they weren’t fully in the dark for this one.

She looked up at him and gave him a small kiss touching his face with her hand. “I know it happens and honestly I’m happy it did. I mean I know we talked about a few years, but why not now. I’m already home and I haven’t started Uni for healing so it’s not like I’d have to take more time off from that. I’ll just have to extend my wait to going back all together.” No big deal really. She looked at the time. “Oh if we are going to make that reservation we probably should get going.” Not that she really wanted to leave the hugging that was going on right now. She liked being in this comfort spot. “I didn’t say anything to your mom about where I was heading so she doesn’t know. I wanted you to be the first to know.” She gave him another smile before leaning up and kissing him again.

Ethan looked back into Minerva's blue eyes, returning her smile, and nodded. He did think it would be a good thing and that things would work out.. it was just something he needed to get used to for a minute. And the fact that she seemed so happy about it helped, making him more readily inclined to feel that as well. As she rested her head against him, he lightly rubbed his hand up and down her arm as he had his arm around her. "A big brother.." he mused aloud. He supposed it was hard to really envision it, but he tried and it seemed a heartwarming picture. Then he chuckled as she continued. Of course she'd want a shirt for him. "That will be really cute."

Turning his head, he glanced down at her as she looked at him. Hm. That might be an issue. "Right.. we'll have to figure something out." Funny how when he first got this little cottage, it was more than enough room, almost felt lonely when he was here by himself. Not it just wasn't big enough even after the expansions he and his father did. "I'll talk to my dad about it, after we tell them our news." He leaned down and kissed her forehead. "Hopefully we can do more to the house, I'd rather not have to move." This was too much like home to him now and he was very much attached to it.

He smiled again as she kissed him and he looked into her eyes as she touched his face. Listening to her speak, he thought over her words before nodding. "Yeah, I suppose you're right. Maybe it will be easier to do things this way, to have them so close together." It had seemed like more work, and maybe it would be, but she seemed to have very good points too. "This will all work out for the best." He nodded as she looked at the time. "I need to take a quick shower, so yeah, we'd better get going." He kissed her again and got up from the couch. Ethan was kind of dirty after battling the plant and really wanted to look nice for their anniversary dinner. Hopefully they had time. He smiled a bit as he mentioned his mom. He thought she'd be more excited about it this time, not that she didn't grow into that last time. "Maybe we could have them over for dinner or something soon and tell them then."

Heading out into the living room of their little home Minerva looked around to make sure all the adorable little zoo decorations were set up and ready. It seemed like everything was ready. She couldn't believe her little baby boy was a year old already. Looking to the coffee table she quickly moved, "No no don't touch that." Grabbing one of the candles she moved it to the fire place. Realizing she was going to have to keep things higher now that Gunnar was pulling himself up and taking a few steps around the coffee table.

Bending down to him she smiled and kissed his face. "Happy Birthday little man." Min adjusted his shirt before standing up and heading into the kitchen to set out the plates and check on the corn dogs. Setting out the chips, pretzels, and veggies, it seemed that everything was ready. Now she'd just have to wait for the guest to arrive.

Eyes wide with wonder, Gunnar caught sight of something colorful and pretty on the coffee table. Pulling himself up at the edge, he took a few toddling steps towards it, babbling as he reached out his hand. "Ma ma ma ma." Blue eyes snapped up as Mommy spoke and took the pretty away. "No," he repeated as his eyes followed it to the higher up place and he fell back on his bottom.

He hit his hands on his legs a few times as he sat on the floor, then reached for Mommy's face as she leaned in for kisses and he tried smacking his lips together in an attempt to make a kiss too. The one year old's eyes followed Mommy out of the room, then he crawled towards his dragon toy and grabbed it off the floor.

Ethan had spent part of the morning out in their backyard garden, digging up the last of the harvestable potatoes before the ground froze over. Once he got those cleaned up and put away, he decided to do the same for himself in the form of a shower. Ready for the party, the twenty year old headed out to the living room where he found his son on the floor playing with his favorite toy dragon.

"Hey big guy," he grinned at the boy as he sat down on the floor next to him. "All ready for your party?" Was Min in the kitchen? He heard what sounded like noises of preparation and figured she must be in there getting things ready. "Min.." he called in that direction. "Need any help?"

Placing the finishing touches on all the things in the kitchen she stopped and looked around. This was something she loved, had always loved. Planning events and parties was great fun and doing it for her baby boy was even more exciting. She rubbed her belly a moment as a few kicks hit her smiled down. "One day we'll be doing this for you too." When she heard Ethan's voice she turned on her heel and went back into the living room.

"Nope I think everything is all set." She checked the time as a wave of excitement and nerves hit her. She hoped they would all fit comfortably in the little cottage they called home, she hoped everyone would have a great time and Gunnar would enjoy himself, and she hoped she could play off the awkward/hurt issues she had been dealing with lately. Smiling at her family she sat down on the couch near them. "Maybe you will get another cool dragon to go with that one." She chuckled knowing she had gotten him one. "Does everything look alright?" Blue eyes scanned everything making sure she hadn't missed a detail.

Pulling up in the drive, the Wheatborn's got out of the car and made their way to the door. Howard made sure his wife was doing alright before knocking on the door. They were only seventy five, but Jane had a bit of a knee problem that made her struggle more then him. "Can you believe our great grandchild is one already." He glanced at his wife smiling. His heart heavy with both sad and happy feelings. Gunnar was their pride and joy along with their Minerva, but he missed his son and the rest of the family dearly wishing they could be here for this moment.

"I... think it's this way?"

There was a cottage there in the distance. And something told him that this was the right way so... he was going to start walking that way, with one hand holding onto a large gift box and the other clutching onto his girlfriend's hand. He had been here before, but only once and that was all the way back at the beginning of the summer. The last thing he really wanted to do was get lost, especially since Ella was with him.

Speaking of the blonde, he shot a grin in her direction and gave her hand a gentle squeeze. Could she tell how excited he was? Because he was excited! Alec remembered when the kid was being born -- fanboying with General Kaid had taken place -- and now here he was. A year old already! It was probably because of this that the nineteen year old had made extra careful to wrap the present perfectly. And... well... it still wasn't greatly wrapped but here's hoping that Gunnar would concentrate on the gift more than the wrapping.

"This is it!" he called excitedly as he stepped up to the door, "We're not late, are we?"

Ella trusted Alec's sense of direction and so she followed his lead, holding on to his hand happily. She'd missed this and the fact that she got to spend time with him and see people she hadn't in a while was extremely exciting to the blonde.

Smiling back at the hair ruffler, the nineteen year old returned the hand squeeze and tilted her head. He DID look excited and it was absolutely adorable. So much so that she had to resist the urge to stop and kiss his face right then and there. Ugh, this was going to be one of THOSE days when she wanted to do that lots, wasn't it?

Checking her watch, Ella shook her head and smiled reassuringly at the boyfriend person. "Right on time, actually." Then dropping his hand, the blonde stepped forward and knocked several times. "This should be fun." GRIN!

Belle was excited to go to Gunnar's birthday. He can't believe the little tyke had grown up so fast. She was really excited to see Ethan and Minnie since she hadn't seen them in a while. They must have been busy with the baby and all. She only had contact with the baby. She flew all the way from Kansas to Germany to be here. She pulled up in her rental car to their place. Minnie gave her the directions previously so that helped. She got out of the car and had her gift ready in a cute little bag. She hoped Minnie like the bunny and books she got him. If he didn't like the bunny that would be fine.

As she made her way to the front door, she noticed Alec and Ella made it before her. She smiled at them and said kindly, "Hey guys! How have you been!?" It was great seeing her old friends again. She had missed them.

There'd been a bit of a faff at home, trying to get everything ready and not forget bits and bobs... it was the first time they'd been out properly since Felicity had been born and now that she was a couple of months old it was really time to get out more and meet people properly.

Right. One last check up... Nappies, nappy bag, bottles, dummy, spare clothes just in case, muslin squares, blanket, scratch mitts... Okay. That seemed good. Aurora adjusted the tiny dress on the two and a half month old and made sure her socks were on securely. Right, good. Everything was good here. "Let's go then, shall we?" Aurora spoke to Felicity in German - how else was she going to learn - and gave her a big smile. "We're going to Germany today, that's where mutti is from!"

The Turners were HERE! Finally. Aurora had hooked the changing bag onto Richard's shoulder, then apparated them there, carrying Felicity in one arm, and holding Richard's arm with her free hand. Then she walked up to the door and knocked brightly.

With the amount of sleep she was getting now a days Ariana wasn't sure of a lot of things anymore but one thing she found out today was that Xaria hated Mickey Mouse. The girl screamed whenever the paper or bag was in view of her and at first Ari thought the baby was having another creaming episode but no, just the muggle cartoon mouse. After a while it was more amusing, poor baby. She surely wasn't the best mum in the world, finding her daughter's fears amusing to her even if the girl would surely have night terrors for months.

Making sure she had everything squished into Xaria's bag and the gifts she put her in her carrier for safer travel and so that the baby had a place to be when she wasn't being held though Ari was sure the baby wouldn't be put down.. ever. Flooing over with baby in tow before her boyfriend who was just behind her she poofed up into the fireplace of her best friends house and she grinned when she saw them in the living room, "Hi!" she was here. Hey, Hi, Hello! Birthday Boy!! "Happy Birthday, Gunnar! she beamed at her nephew as she set Xaria down to make sure the gifts didn't fall."where should i put these? ... Min, you look great!" lookit the baby!belly!!

Gunnar squealed a bit as he hit his dragon toy on the floor and it roared at him. Funny dragon! Oh and there was Daddy! Blue eyes snapped up as he heard Daddy's voice and he crawled towards his seated position on the floor, babbling as he went. He had let go of the dragon to come over and it was now laying on its side, trying to walk and flap its wings. Gunnar looked back at it, the sight hilarious to him and resulting in baby giggles. Until Daddy's loud voice caught his attention.

What, Daddy? Gunnar stared at him a moment until he heard Mommy and he looked at her as she came in the room too. Dragon? The one year old looked at his toy again, grabbing it and squealing some more as he banged it on the floor then crawled closer to Mommy's spot on the couch, pulling himself up with it still in his hand. "Da da da da," he babbled as he held it up, his other hand grasping her leg. Look at my dragon, Mommy.. Mommy, look.. do you see my dragon?

Ethan looked up from Gunnar as Minerva entered the room. It didn't really surprise him much that she probably already had things taken care of and didn't need much in the way of help from him. She really seemed to enjoy having get-togethers like this and doing all the planning that went along with them. "Everything looks perfect," he confirmed with a smile before taking another look around the room. It really did look great.

He looked up when he heard a knock on the door. "I'll get that," the 20 year old said before getting up from the floor. Not that they had invited a ton of guests, but he didn't want Min to have to keep getting up when it wasn't easy for her to do so as it was. "Come on in," he grinned at Min's grandparents as he opened the door wider for them. "Can I get you something to drink?"

It wasn't long after he had shut the door when he heard a knock again. Refreshments might have to wait a minute. Or maybe till everyone was here then it could all be done at once. Ethan opened the door again, smiling to see some of their old schoolmates. It had been a while since he had seen Alec, Ella, and Belle. Nice to see them again. "Glad you all could make it," he said with a grin, opening the door wider to let them in. "Come in.."

He glanced over at his son for a moment, checking to make sure he was alright with the slowly growing crowd in their house. He seemed to be alright for now and, while he wasn't extremely wary of strange people, he knew Gunnar could get anxious with a large number, especially if he didn't know them well. And the door again. Ethan went to answer it, this time smiling at the Turner family as he opened the door. "Wilkommen.. thanks for coming.." He opened the door a bit wider and stepped to the side, green eyes falling on the baby. "This must be Felicity." Well, of course it was.. but it was the first time he had actually seen her. He gave his hello's to those arriving by floo - Ariana and her new baby, his parents, cousins - before heading back into the kitchen to get some drinks ready.

Meloria knew she was running a little late, but she needed to check on her sister again before leaving. She knew Mariel felt terrible about not being able to go, but she couldn't possibly blame her. People would understand. Once she was sufficiently certain that she was alright, Meloria grabbed a couple of the packages from the table. "Finn.. I'm going to need you to carry the rest," she called to her husband, watching to make sure he got the rest of the gifts from the table before stepping towards the fireplace. Alright, so maybe she went a little overboard but if she couldn't spoil her only grandchild, then who could she spoil? She completely ignored Finn's comments about it as she stepped into the fireplace.

Flooing to her son and daughter-in-law's house, the blonde woman noted quite a few people assembled there already. Donning a friendly smile, she gave a few polite hello's as she set the gifts that she had carried in the corner, then greeted Ethan and Minerva. Her smile widening at the sight of Gunnar, she bent down towards him. "There's my angel.. happy birthday!"

Wade was quite ecstatic about the party. Not only because the little guy was turning the big ol' one years old, but getting to see the Mouses again. It was too bad that Indy had to work today, but it was out of his control since she couldn't change it. So with the goodie bag with Gunnar's gifts inside, he made his way to Min and Ethan's place. He had never been there, so apparating was out of the question. Especially with his little sisters tagging along. Yep, they were with him too, Elisa and Alana in their strollers.

Eventually making it to the front door of their home, Elisa and Alana had fallen asleep along the way.. for now. Waiting until he was allowed in did he get a look on everything. and everyone "Hey everyone, hope we're not too late." Grinning sheepishly.

Minerva was about to get up when Ethan went to get the door. Smiling at how sweet he always was to help her out, she watched excitedly. “Your guest have arrived sweet boy.” Min took his little hand knowing he might get a little afraid with all the people. Making sure he was content with his little dragon the blonde finally got to her feet smiling as the guest started to come in the door. She had to give hugs and things of course. “Hey guys.” She smiled and gave Ella, Alec, and Belle hugs. “I’m so glad you could come.” Next she moved to her grandparents and gave them extra hugs. These were the moments she was so glad they had decided to move to Germany to be closer to her. They were all the family she had after her parents passed, so it meant the world to her that they were there to celebrate her son’s first birthday.

Turning towards the fireplace she smiled at Ethan’s family all coming in. Greeting and hugging them all she was so excited to see everyone. Though she kept looking back towards Gunnar making sure he knew she was there and that everything was alright. Seeing E’s mom she gave her a hug, “So glad everyone’s here.” Though one was missing. “Are Mariel and Jorge able to come?” Maybe they were off on a vacation again or something, but she wasn’t sure so she figured she’d ask.

Hearing another voice Minerva turned seeing Ariana, “Oh right there on that table is where I’m putting the gifts.” She reached down picking up the one month old, “Hello Xaria” Smiling down at the girl. She still loved the baby girl very much and was trying to move past the feelings she was having with her friendship. Still holding the infant she looked up as another family and baby came in. “Hello and this must be Felicity.” She looked at the beautiful baby girl. “All these girls” She chuckled, poor Gunnar was so outnumbered.

When the doorbell went again she decided to go ahead and get it. Holding Xaria in one arm she opened and smiled at Wade. Looking down at the strollers. “Aww you brought the girls.” They could watch the three one year olds toddle around how cute was that going to be. Giving her friend a one armed hug she let him in . “There is a bunch of food in the kitchen, please help yourself.” Everyone heard her, right?

Howard gave Ethan a big hug, “Hello” He couldn’t be prouder of his grandson in law. He had proved to be such a hard worker and so good for his granddaughter. “Wow she has went all out.” Not that he was surprised Minerva was always one to go above and beyond when it came to others. He leaned in towards Ethan a bit, “We are the only…” he knew right? What was the word they called them again? Not that it mattered to the man he had excepted it years ago, as long as he was a part of their life he was happy and so was his wife. “You’re busy being a host, we can get our own drinks don’t worry about it.” He smiled patting Ethan on the shoulder before making his way into the house. Finding his lovely granddaughter and wrapping her in a hug. “There’s my girl.” He beamed and then went for her belly. “There’s my other girl.” Proud great grandfather right here.


Alana was dreaming of bottles and stuffed puppies when she heard an unfamiliar voice. Many unfamiliar voices. Her little eyes opened and she remembered being in the wheelie thing that took her places, but where was she. Looking up she saw someone that looked familiar. She had seen this woman before. It was the waving one, but why was she there near her. Her brown eyes widened and her lower lip wibbled. Mommy? Daddy? She looked around, but all she was seeing is more strangers. “Whaaa.. Whaaa” Where were her people. Turning her neck she saw her big brother behind her. “Wa Wa” He wasn’t going to leave her with all these people, right?

Felicity was awake, and not crying (thankfully)... she'd been more and more alert lately, taking in as much of the world as she could with her tiny blue eyes. She was a very smiley baby, and liked to laugh at her daddy a lot, but right now she was just gazing at her surroundings from Aurora's arms. Rora adjusted her hold on her daughter and smiled widely at Ethan and Min as they entered the house.

"Hello, hello! Yes, this is Felicity... say hi, sweetheart..." Rora took Felicity's little hand and made her wave. "How are you both? It's been a while since we've seen you! Congratulations by the way!" So many things to say!!! "Everything alright? Bet it's easier without all the surprises? Second time and all..."

As Belle entered the house, he noticed Ethan had Gunnar. She smiled and chuckled. He was so adorable! "Hey Gunnar!" she said cooing over him. She wondered if she could pick him up but she would leave him for now. "Hey Ethan.." Belle smiled and hugged him. "How have you been?" she asked her friend who she hadn't talked to in a while.



After Belle talked to Ethan, she noticed Minnie. She smiled and gave her best friend a tight hug. She of course had to say this face to face, "Congrats on having your soon to be second child.." She couldn't believe her best friend was going to have two children. She hoped it would be a girl. "How have you been missy? I miss talking to you!" she pouted to her best friend.

They were right on time? "Awesome!" he said, grinning over at Ells, "The birthday boy might not have been pleased if we were late." Well... really late. And he didn't want to miss this, which was why he had been up extra early today. "Yeah, it should be. You haven't met him yet, have you?" Had she or--

Oh look, someone else was coming! "Belle!" GRIN. This was brilliant! Almost like a little reunion for the graduates. Almost. Which... was still a bit weird to call themselves that. "Hey! I've been great! I've great to see you again. How've you been?"

Before he could listen out for a response, the door had opened, making Alec turn his head in that direction. "Hey Ethan! Thanks for inviting us." Grins were happening, and he had a funny feeling that they wouldn't disappear anytime soon. He grinned over at the girlfriend too, reaching for her hand as he did so and tugging her inside. He was still excited to see his nephew and--

"MINNIE!" The grin on the nineteen year old's face, if possible, widened even more as he wrapped the girl up in a hug. "It's really great to see you again! Erm... are you okay? You're not overworking yourself, are you?" Relaxing was good, you know.

Looking past the pseudo sister, it looked as if there were other people there too. He recognised some by name and... general meetings -- hey Ariana! -- others by face (Aurora) and some... he didn't at all. Not even a bit. Despite this, Alec smiled and waved at the others, sending a big grin in Curly Wade's direction. "Hey everyone!"

Then he turned back to Ells again. "You ready to meet the birthday boy?" Were they allowed to hog him for a while? Yeah? No?

Gunnar turned his head, hearing the sound he knew meant someone was coming. Sometimes people came into the house through the fireplace, but sometimes there was that sound before Mommy or Daddy opened the door to for someone to come inside. He watched Daddy go to the door a few times, blue eyes widening and watching carefully as person after person came in.

First was Gram and Pap Pap. He gave them a big smile and bounced a bit as he stood, gripping the edge of the couch. Did they come to play? He could show them his dragon. But there was that sound again and this time the people that came in did not get a big smile. There were.. a lot of them.. and he did not know them. Well, maybe one of them? He wasn't sure and he looked at Mommy to make sure this was ok. But where was Mommy going?

Gunnar stared, frozen to the spot, as Mommy and Daddy talked to all the people, then he looked over at the fireplace as even more people came in. He knew these people - there was auntie, and Nana and Papa - but there were so many people here and it was starting to become overwhelming for the one year old. His lip began to wibble even as Nana reached for him and picked him up, someone he'd normally be excited to see, and he twisted his body around, blue eyes frantically searching for Mommy or Daddy.

Meloria had picked up Gunnar and balanced him on her hip as she smiled down at him. "Hello, big boy.. all ready for your party?" Oh.. maybe not. Her smile faltered a bit as she saw the look on her grandson's face. Was he going to cry? She frowned as he reached for Ethan when he walked over, and she handed the baby back to her son. "I'm not so sure he likes me today," she mentioned to him softly, though she was more joking than anything. She knew that couldn't possibly be true.

She gave her daughter-in-law a hug then hesitated a bit at the question. "No.. they won't be able to make it this time, unfortunately. Something urgent came up and they send their regrets." She managed a small smile for them both, then went to speak to her other sister while they tended to their other guests. She could fill them in on the details later, or at least what had happened, there was no sense in discussing it right now.

Ethan chuckled a bit at Min's grandfather's words. "Oh she did. She's completely in her element.." He took another quick glance at the decorations around the room. His wife really did love throwing a party. It reminded him a little bit of his mother from when he was younger. And Min had done such a great job coordinating and putting everything together. He leaned in a bit as the older man did, furrowing his brow a bit as he processed his words. "Oh.. Muggles, yes," he nodded, giving him an encouraging smile. He wasn't sure if Minerva had filled in some of their guests on that but figured she did and it wouldn't be a problem anyway. His whole family already knew.

Turning to some of their other guests as they were beginning to arrive, he beamed down at the baby in Aurora's arms. "Hi Felicity.. She's adorable," he added, looking back to her mother now. She reminded him that they'd soon be back with one about that size which Aurora brought up as well. "Thanks," he said with a grin. "Yeah.. I think we'll know a little more what to expect." He glanced at Min.. she thought so too, maybe? He thought it might be easier in that respect at least.

He gave Belle a hug in return. "We've been doing well.. how are you?" Was she still at University? It had been far too long since they had talked, he wasn't even sure what she as up to. He grinned at Wade as Min let him and a couple babies inside as well. His sisters, right? "Hey, Wade," he grinned as he pushed the girls inside. Oh.. He finally put two and two together, realizing that these were the same babies they saw at Halloween. That was an interesting coincidence. And fun that Gunnar could have a couple kids his age here too.

Speaking of Gunnar, he glanced around, looking to see if he was alright, noticing that his mother was taking care of him. He should probably go over and say hello in a minute. But first, he turned to Alec and Ella as they came inside. "Of course we'd invite you. We're so glad you both could make it." He was sure Minerva was thrilled to see her old housemates too. "There's some snacks in the kitchen, I think.." He thought Min was putting some things out for the party. He glanced over at her, seeing Ariana's baby in her arms. "This is Xaria?" He stepped closer to her, smiling a bit at the baby. "Congratulations, she's beautiful," he said to Ari, not sure that he had said that to her yet. He hadn't seen them since the baby was born.

He started to make his way over to talk to his cousins when he caught the wibbling lip of his son. Stepping closer to his mum, he reached out his arms as Gunnar started to cry, soon stopping to a shuddered breath as he took him and he shook his head at his mother's words. "It's not that. I think it's just a lot for him right now. It'll take him a minute to get used to everyone here. Right, pal?" he glanced at Gunnar with a smile, then looked at his mother again as she answered Min's question about his aunt. "Everything alright?" He eyed her, knowing that normally she'd be pretty annoyed at her for missing something like this. He didn't soon forget how she went on and on about the shower. But she didn't seem that way now.

Ella hadn't met the birthday boy yet and she shook her head when Alec asked, a small smile playing on her lips. She was anxious to meet the little guy and to see Min, feeling like they had lots to catch up on.

Speaking of people she wanted to catch up with, there was Belle! The blonde smiled and let Alec greet her first before speaking up. "I'm good too, thanks. Hope you're well." She would have asked more but they were being ushered inside by the birthday boy's father and that meant food AND the little guy so Ella was all smiles.

"Yeah, thanks Ethan! It's great to see you-" She gave a fleeting smile as Alec was tugging her along, NOT that she minded. He was excited and she couldn't help but be excited too. It was contagious, y'know.

Min. Ella grinned and let Alec get hugs first before she slipped her arms around the girl who...was over-working herself, according to the boyfriend. Or at least he seemed to worried she might be. The nineteen year old's eyes wandered and that's when she noticed the baby bump and--BLINK! "You're pregnant?" Again? This was a THING? The blonde looked from Min to her boyfriend and back again. BABY? Another baby? AW.

And people! Lots that Ella knew and her god-daughter which was icing on the cake as far as she was concerned. The former badger GRINNED and gave everyone a wave. "Hey guys!" Wade had babies, did he know? Who were those little cutie pies, hmm? And how soon could she persuade Ari to let her hold Xaria? Grabby hands would be happening soon!

Turning back to the boyfriend person, Ella smiled and nodded her head enthusiastically. "'Course. I can't wait to meet him." She then gave his hand a squeeze and looked around for the little birthday boy.

...Who looked a bit overwhelmed. Aw. Poor kiddo. Ella smiled a little and wiggled a finger at him. Cheer up, little man. It's your special day.

“Aurora she is so precious. I am so glad to finally get to meet her.” Minerva beamed at the baby girl. “Oh I’m doing great. This pregnancy is going so much better than my first.” She figured it had something to do with the fact that she knew what was going on this time. “Thanks, we are excited. It will be fun having them so close together in age.” Harder at first she knew, but still would be fun watching them grow.

She turned to Belle and smiled, “Thanks” She knew if people didn’t know about their little news yet they would today it wasn’t a secret, but she wasn’t one to really announce things to the world either. “I’ve been great. Just been busy around here with Gunnar and now getting ready for the newest one.” She smiled touching her belly. They still had plenty of time before the little one would come, but it was still a good thing to get ready. “How have you been?”

Leave it to her brother to ask all the questions about her over doing things. “Alec I’m fine. This is fun! I’ve enjoyed putting this party together. Your niece is fine kicking away as well. So everything is good.” She beamed at him. “How are you?” and Ella she moved to hug the blonde. Her smile turned to a curious look towards Alec. He didn’t tell her? He was one of the first to know she was expecting again. Hmm that was interesting. “Yes I am. About five months now.” or well close to six now she supposed. “Due at the end of February.” She smiled. Looking around she found Gunnar in Ethan’s arms, “He seems a bit overwhelmed right now.” Smiling she walked towards the baby. “Gunnar you remember Uncle Alec don’t you?” He had been around Gunnar a few times she hoped he might remember him at least.

She frowned as Ethan’s mom said Mariel wasn’t coming, but right as she was going to ask Ethan asked the question for her. She really hoped everything was alright. It wasn’t like Mariel to miss many things, especially for Gunnar. She even came trick or treating with them. Still holding Xaria she looked around watching everyone. This seemed like it was going well other than her son’s anxiety, but he’d soon have that pass seeing all the food and cake of course. Looking back to Ethan she smiled, “Yes this is Xaria.” She was precious and Min did adore her even if it was harder for her to show it.

“Ella why don’t you take Xaria.” She figured if she went into the kitchen others would follow for the food. She had made so much she didn’t want to have a ton of left overs. Plus Ariana probably would rather have Ella holding Xaria anyway. She turned smiling at her son. “You ready to eat big boy?” Heading towards the kitchen she looked at the group. “Come get some food everyone.” Seeing her grandparents follow her she smiled, at least she knew they’d eat.

Belle smiled at Alec and couldn't help but resist. She went over to him and gave him a hair ruffle. She grinned and then he asked how she has been. After the hair ruffle, she shrugged. "I have been well! I am graduating from University this year and I finished Student Teaching so I am confident my life is going the right way." She smiled widely. She was proud of what she has accomplished in her four years. Then she noticed Ella was there too!


Then she nodded towards Ella and stepped around Alec and hugged her. "So I heard Kace did really well in Quidditch when you were captain." she grinned towards her. "But how is life for you post after Hogwarts?" she asked her. She was in her same shoes when Hogwarts ended. "Did you find a job yet or have a job all set for yourself?" After she asked all the questions, she noticed the door opened and Ethan was there!

After getting a big hug, Belle smiled and was glad Ethan was doing well. She remembered meeting him first in the Owlery. They have been friends ever since. Then she remembered going to him after her whole Damon fiasco. He had been there for everything. She was grateful. Plus it was heart warming he had a family and he married her best friend. She was so happy for him. "I am doing well..I am actually graduating from University soon. I am done with Student Teaching so my life is going in the right direction. I am finished with all my credits and all clear to walk across with my class." she smiled brightly. "I mean look at you and your family. It is amazing how much you have grown since I have met you. But it seems to me you will be even more happier with your next child.."she lowered her voice on the second part incase they wanted it to be a surprise.

Then she noticed Minnie and smiled towards her best friend. She was glad she was doing well. I mean her little boy Gunnar was so adorable. She would have to hold him soon. "Speaking of Gunnar where is the little fella.." Belle asked looking around. "Aww I bet you are getting ready for your little one. Do you know if it is gonna be a girl or boy yet?" she asked curiously. Because if she did, knowing Minnie she may have decorated the nursery already.

Oh now onto her. She smiled and said, "I have been doing really well. I am almost done with University. I am graduating in May so I am happy with that. I have all my credits set and I am gonna walk with my class." she smiled brightly.

Belle noticed Wade and had to go say hello. She tapped him on his shoulder and said, "Hey Stranger..how have you been?" she asked giving him a one armed hug.

So many people! She hoped that Xaria didn't have a screaming fit while they were there cause that would just be the absolute worst. Grinning at everyone she waved and gave hugs when they were needed after she went and set her gifts down. She was smiling to come back into the room to see Min holding Xaria, it melted her heart really, which was a good thing cause ever since she had her daughter she just couldn't shake this feeling that something was up with Min, her best friend. Maybe she was mad cause she had a child too? Maybe it was because she hadn't been around much in the past year which really wasn't up to her or entirely her fault. none the less she couldn't help but feel like her best friend hated her and her daughter for some reason and it broke her heart to pieces.

Today though was all about Gunnar who she noticed was pulling a fussy lip as he reached for Ethan, awww, nephew. "there's too many people here isn't there?" she made pouty faces at him as he went to Ethan. Poor guy, he'll be alright soon though, there was food. and cake and presents. and if there was one thing she knew of her nephew is that he loved ALL of the above, yes he did. There was mentions of food and Ariana scanned the room to see Min passing off Xaria to Ella, that hurt, maybe she was just being crazy, her hormones were still all out of whack and this was all probably just nothing. She made her way to the kitchen though, cause food, and kept all her thoughts to herself. She really needed to pull Min aside someday and talk to her about it, she just had to know.

"it all looks so great Min, you did such a good job." her best friend the party planner. She should be a party planner, that'd be just perfect for her till she went back into healing and all.

Gunnar reached for Daddy as he took him in his arms and he laid his little head on his shoulder as he took in all the people there. Daddy was saying something to him but he wasn't really listening, being more focused on everyone else and why they were all here, blue eyes moving from one person to the next. He stared at Auntie for a minute when she was talking to him too, his eyes soon snapping to Mommy when he heard her voice. He reached one of his arms towards her, then he was being carried to the kitchen where Mommy was. Maybe she would take him then.

Meloria knew that her grandson would never really reject her. It just seemed a little overwhelming in here for the one year old and she gave Ethan a small smile and nod as he said pretty much the same. "Oh I know," she said, giving Gunnar a little kiss on the top of his head from where he was in his father's arms. "I seem to remember you being the same way on your first birthday too." Like father, like son, she supposed, chuckling lightly to herself.

She managed a small smile for him and Minerva too as he questioned her about Mariel and she saw the concern in her daughter-in-law's eyes as well. "She's fine," she said, knowing there was no need to concern them right now. "We can talk about it later. Right now let's focus on this little guy's big day," she added, trying to pull the focus back on Gunnar as she smiled bigger and tickled him a little.

Ethan gave his mother a look as she mentioned how he was at his son's age. Really, Mum? No one needed to know. But he gave her a little nod as he eyed her about his aunt. Talk to them later? Alright.. but she was right about one thing. The focus was on Gunnar even if he wondered what was going on. They could find out later.

He glanced down as he became aware of Gunnar reaching for Min and he looked up as she spoke. Good.. he was pretty hungry. He started to head towards the kitchen, slowing near Belle as she talked to him. "Well, that sounds really great," he said with a smile as she told him of her recent accomplishments. Sounded like she had a lot going for her. "Now to find a job," he added with a chuckle. Shouldn't be too hard with her education though. "I don't have a doubt that we'll be happy." Gunnar was pretty much their world, he knew another baby would be the same. "Come on and get something to eat. Min made a lot of food." Still holding Gunnar, he headed for the kitchen, figuring most people would come too.
