Its summer 2097 and your character has signed up to be part of a potentially lucrative curse-breaking opportunity. This particular location is unplottable for ultra security and secrecy while Gringotts Wizarding Bank unearths its secrets. The Gringotts Curse-Breakers are not the only experts on the scene however - this is a joint enterprise and there are contingents from the Cairo campus of the Wizarding University, as well as a freelance group who hire themselves out to lend a hand when a particularly lucrative 'treasure-and-curse' opportunity arises.
The meeting point is a series of tents right outside the dig site - all of the team have been provided with portkeys to get them here, and will have the night to settle in and get the lay of the land before the teams begin their work in the morning. Other than the tents there's a LOT of sand and not much else to be seen, thanks to the spells protecting the site from muggle notice.
Anyone is welcome to join this RP (as advertised within the SnitchSeeker RPG timeline, March 2097 in the Daily Prophet). You can RP as many characters as you feel able to play, providing it makes sense for them to be part of this expedition.
The following character opportunities are available:
SPOILER!!: charries wanted/bios
Gringotts Curse-Breakers & Trainees (your character can be added to this list, for any of the locations around the world). While the primary goal is to profit and bring back treasures, the Gringotts Curse-Breakers are respectful of the dig sites and the remnants of history within. There are mixed experience levels among the Gringotts contingent, including brand new green trainees who have put their names down for this mission and been approved by the goblins who don't particularly care about the risks that their human employees may face and consequently weren't as thorough as they could have been when it came to certifying the trainees were of age.
Cairo University Students & Staff Many of the Wiz-U students are more focused on the historical elements of digs like this one. They primarily want to discover new information, restore priceless artifacts, and preserve historical sites for posterity. A bit of profit is nice of course, but this contingent are more interested in the academia of it all.
Copernicus Kettleburn - Cairo WU Professor [Archaeology & Linguistic Anthropology] (Cassirin) Joseph Flamel - Cairo WU Professor [Rune Studies] (Zoe) Bella Drechsler -- Research Lead, Graduate Student (LilFox06) Thomas Watts - Madrid Grad school student (Archaeology) and Part time instructor (SarcasticStrawberry) Vivian Fairfield - University Student, WU Madrid (Kimothy)
Freelancers these guys are all about the profit, so they're not so inclined to be respectful of artifacts, relics, or of the dead, and are more likely to be careless, make mistakes and leave some destruction in their collective wakes. They're out for themselves and don't much care about the historical aspects of curse-breaking missions like this one. There may be a few troublemakers among this lot
Assorted (Wizarding) Archaeology experts, sponsors, and hangers-on If you want to play any other kind of character you absolutely can! Go ahead and post a bio, and you can PM Tegz if you want to figure out if a character concept is going to be fitting or not if you like.
Please note that '???' are not empty slots, just consider them npc's for now, they're in case anyone else joins us. And if we 'run out' of spots there's more tents on the other side of the arrival point Men's (and male-identifying team member) Tents

Marmie had been waiting anxiously for the talking to stop and for it to be time for the food to be put on the tables for all the nice sirs and mistresses, and as soon as she got the nod from Mr Helo Banner, she snapped her fingers and the tables loaded up with delicious Egyptian cuisine (if she did say so herself!). All the same, the little elf was somewhat anxious to know if everything was to the liking of the witches and wizards she served. She took off her chefs hat, which had been covering her damaged ear, and wrung it anxiously, watching to see. She would only be happy if they ate it all!
----------
Tally waved a little at all the trainees again and gave Mr Kettleburn a big smile. She was sure they could work something out, after all they were all here for the same reason! But now it was time to eat and she admittedly was starving, especially with all the delicious smells that were wafting from the food. Tally grabbed a plate and filled it and then sat down again and began eating, smiling around with her mouth closed (manners were important!) because she did welcome conversation if anyone wanted some with her. Especially the trainees. It was a thrilling time and she wanted to encourage them as much as possible after all.
________
Oh good the food. Right. Helo nodded at Kettleburn in confirmation of the answers Bella gave him and then added quickly, loud enough to be heard by all, "See you all first thing in the morning in the debriefing and planning tent and we'll go over the necessities in more detail. But for now... lets eat and settle in." And everyone could... bond if they wanted to. It was always interesting to see who did or didn't, but Helo was honestly more focused on the food at this point. Once he was done eating, he would head to tent 7B to go over a thing or two before he would eventually turn in for the night.
_____________
Thanks to Marmie the house elf, plenty of food is served for all. While some may choose to linger and chat as the meal ends and the light begins to fade from the day, others may head back to their tents to settle in for the night. Perhaps others might be feeling a little more.... adventurous and wanting to check out the dig site before time? Best wait until there aren't so many people wandering around, if so.
Disillusioned, the dig site tent remains impossible to see until one is standing right outside the tent flaps, but after all, you do have a little map to show you exactly where to find it, if you so choose....

Hawke happily and quickly stuffed his face. For some reason, he knew this would be the least stressful meal of this whole adventure, He. Was. Going. To. Enjoy. It.
When he was almost finished, he turned to his two companions, "Want to go grab the dictionaries after this?" he asked. He was mostly being polite inviting them along, he was definitely going to go.
He was probably even going to go have a peek at the site after -- just to mentally prep for tomorrow, of course.

Luckily for Sylvie, she'd been in Egypt for a bit now with her parents and was used to this food. It was nothing like the beans and potatoes and pies from home, and she'd quickly discovered she really liked it. So, despite her nerves, she ate rather happily beside Juni and Hawke (Hawke Zunther, Hawke himself, Hawke whom she hadn't seen since Hogwarts.... Hawke).
The seventeen year old nodded quickly, almost choking on the water she was gulping down. "Yes.. yes. Did you know we needed to know Ancient Egyptian??" A head's up would have been nice! She wouldn't have learned the whole language, but she could have at least scribbled some important words on the palm of her hand. Maybe even both palms.
She glanced quickly over at the woman named Tally, before looking studiously at her plate. She could ask her...... but risk exposing herself as too young and unqualified. Better not do that. Yes, that sounded like a bad plan. Night of thumbing through the dictionary (read: an hour, tops) it is.
