Benadi...

Two best friends, first real close during school and now inseparable as they start the rest of their lives together.
Benjamin Atreyu and Aditya Rehman are now on their own outside the normalcy and safety of the walls of Hogwarts.
Wizarding University and the great wide world await the boyfriends as they explore what its like to really be adults in the wizarding and muggle worlds.

Locations
Benadi Apartment: Two bedroom apartment in the outskirts of Edinburgh. Their first very own home close to school.

Cassiopeia's Cafe: A friendly cafe owned by Benny's mother

Rehman House: The childhood home of Adi, home of Saieed and Indira Rehman

Wizarding University: Edinburgh Campus of the school, where Benny and Adi take classes towards their degrees.

Scene 1 : Cassiopeia's Cafe

Ben's mom's cafe was chosen as the location for the ritual meeting of the families. Aka the first full Atreyu-Rehman get-together. The one where the boys tell their loved ones the truth about their relationship and see just how they react.

Benny had turned his full attention away thus missing the collaboration of the two potioners going on relatively behind his back. He had acknowledged their returned greetings before letting himself close his eyes and try and recoup from the hour-long walk he had just finished. One that had been occasionally dictated by the eager pup who was currently curled up asleep and looking like an innocent little angel which he knew better. The dragon simply nodded in agreement at the observation Adi gave about their canine roommate.

It was only as he became aware of Adi’s movement towards him that he opened his eyes once more, accepting the offered glass water with ease. “Thanks…a little bit.” Cue swig of the water to regain some hydration from his exertion. “I think Garm caught scent of a squirrel at one point.” And proceeded to try and follow it where he really shouldn’t have headed despite Benny’s words and pull of the lease.

Lux knew that she could count on Adi to provide the perfect distraction for Benny. Sending her friend a wink, she watched as he walked over to his boyfriend in the living room.

Rubbing her hands together in glee, she set about suctioning some of the potion into a clean dropper. Four drops were added to each sour patch kid. Obviously neither she or Adi would be eating any since they didn't want to suffer the same effects as Benny. Plate in hand she made her way over to the boys.

"Want some sour patch kids?" she asked while knowing that Adi would refuse.

Adi subtly returned the wink to Lux and acted as innocently as he could. He supposed he did an okay job of it because so far, everything was going according to his and Lux's plan. "No problem! I'm guessing Garm took YOU for a walk?'' he teased. Ilia's baby was growing up to be a strong one. He turned as Lux approached them, his bespectacled eyes fixed on the colourful sour kiddies on the plate.

"Not for me, mermaid,'' he said cheerfully. "More ice cream as a matter of fact but I bet Benny would love them.'' With a grin, Adi headed back to the ice cream container on the kitchen table to ladle some more into his bowl. All the while he snuck tiny glances at his boyfriend.

Ehehe. This will be fun!

Benny could tell Adi was enjoying this, especially after their previous conversation. “Yeah…I guess he did,” he admitted with a weak yawn. “And me, without my four legs,” the former Gryffindor added as he took another sip of water. He might have been better off matching the dog’s pace at times if he had been in his animangus form. But he couldn’t have changed in so public and area AND likely wouldn’t have been able to keep hold of the leash as well. So he had had to deal with it as a human. Thus one mildly tired dragon.

One who was being offered sour patch kids…his one guilty pleasure of the sweets department.

Such a nice Lux.

Adi turned the offer down which was to be expected. The boyfriend preferred actual chocolate and sweets over anything sour. “More ice cream…?” he mused in tease as he took a few candies from the plate with a nod of wordless thanks to his friend. Popping them in his mouth, Benny let them rest against his tongue as he sucked the sour from them. The unknowing victim enjoying the treats even as his nose itched, causing him to rub it with a hand, and tendrils of smoke began to curl up from his inner ear.

It was a good thing that Lux was a decent actress because she managed to keep a straight face as she watched Benny.

He was welcome to all of the sour patch kids. In fact she encouraged it. "Get me some more too," she called out to Adi as he set about refilling his bowl. There was no such thing as too much ice cream but she had a feeling that they would soon be laughing too hard to be able to eat it. All in the name of comedy.

As the smoke began to come out of his ears, Lux pretended not to notice anything. It was too soon to give up the game. "You can eat them all if you want." Innocent expression on her face, she handed the plate over.

See? Adi knew it! "Well, I guess I should be thankful to him. He helps me keep you in shape.'' You know, to make up for all those mornings when Benny refused to leave bed and would rather stay curled up asleep than go for a refreshing run. "Yep! If you had those, you'd keep up better.'' Did he mention his boyfriend in his animagus form was just as handsome as the human one?

"We can never have too much ice cream,'' Adi happily said, throwing a look at Benny. Was there smoke as yet? Nope! "You got it, Lux!'' Cue him refilling her dish with a healthy amount then his. And yes! Benny could have all of those Kiddies! No side effects there would be. At least he and Lux had figured there wouldn't be.

Adi's eyes snapped back towards Benny. OH LOOKY! SMOKE!

Was Lux seeing this awesomeness?

Maybe Garm was like his personal trainer besides Adi. “You do that.” Be thankful the canine helped with his exercise routine. It wasn’t like he was lazy and pot-bellied by any means. Ben managed to keep in shape even on his own thank you. And even with his perchance to want to sleep in in the mornings instead of go out with his boyfriend for a run.

Benny snorted at the comment about never having too much ice cream causing a puff of smoke to escape from his nostrils. It floated past his eyes in gray and white strands. Had he just…? The dragon gave a look of confusion but was momentarily distracted by the plate that was offered once more to him. He couldn’t help sneaking another treat…or two. They were his weakness. As candy and ice cream were the weakness of Adi’s…and Lux’s it seemed.

They too were popped into his mouth as more smoke came from his ears. This time he felt something and reached a hand up to rub his right ear. As he rubbed there was this rush of as the smoke continued and brushed past his fingers. “Wha---?” More confusion as he looked to first Lux and then Adi as he raised his other hand to his left ear as he felt more itchiness.

"What's going on?"

Things were going wonderfully at the moment: there was more ice cream in the works and the potion was taking effect.

If the prank had been mean spirited, Lux never would have taken part... but as it was the whole situation was rather funny. She was having a hard time keeping a straight face when all she wanted to do was giggle. Instead she gave out a loud snort. This was way too much fun. "All the ice cream in the world!" she called out to Adi as she continued to watch Benny. Clearly he wasn't in any really DISTRESS; that was something that they had been correct about.

"Call it a little experiment," she told her friend with a smile.

Adi spooned some ice cream into his mouth, looking as innocent as he could. When Benny snorted and smoke escaped him, he chocked on his ice cream. CoughCoughCough! Oh man! What a hilarious sight his boyfriend made! Even more hilarious with the confused look on his face. He shot a grin at Lux once he had recovered himself. "It's working!''

"Mermaid is right! We're just testing this potion we made.'' As if to explain it all, he grabbed Benny's arm to pull him to a mirror close by. "There! Have a look, dragon!'' Hehe. All Benny needed were the scales, snout and tail and he's been one hundred percent dragon. He was all smokey already.

Adi turned to look at Lux. "Well done, partner in crime!'' he told her with a grin. What a team they made!

Benny couldn’t help glancing at Adi as he nearly chocked. Concern mixed with confusion hit him momentarily until the hippogriff recovered and the dragon was back fully focused on what was happening to him. The apparent prank-testing victim groaning as first Lux and then Adi explained at least the reason before he was pulled from the couch by the boyfriend to actually see all that was happening. The mirror’s reflection gave him the appearance of someone who had taken a large doze od Pepper-Up potion but it was coupled with dragon-like smoke that came from his nostrils with every breath he took through them.

“E tu, Lux?” he mused with a half-exasperated exhale of air that only made to produce more smoke. Benny was used to being pulled into situations by his other half but she had helped this time around. AND had been the one who offered the sour patch kids that were the obvious source of his ‘poisoning’.

Poor…innocent…treats that had been sabotaged.

Guess he’d be acquiring a fresh stash soon enough. Turning from the mirror finally he continued to occasionally absently rub an ear or nose as they itched from contact with the billowing smoke while looking at his amused companions. “So…how long do I get to look like an awakening volcano?” He could only hope that it wasn't TOO long a time to bear through.

HAHAHA! This was amazing.

Lux was going to have to do more of this kind of thing with Adi and of course her boyfriend. That went without saying. "I am rather impressed with our work," the redhead said with a smirk, giving her best friend a thumbs up. They had done good and obviously there would be no damage done; Benny was exactly the same as always... minus the 'side effects', obviously.

Whoops? She smiled at her friend innocently. "What can I say? I was bitten by the prankster bug." She and Bay were going to have a lot of fun with this!

Thumbs up weren't enough, man!

Adi bounded over to Lux, left hand raised for a high five. Don't leave him hanging, girl bestie! "So am I!'' The wheels were already turning in his head. "You and I are going to work on another potion soon, right, mermaid?'' Their first time teaming up was a success and Adi had no doubt that there would be lots more times this would happen.

"Not long, Benny. We didn't make it that strong.'' He looked at Lux. "But we can always modify it if necessary.'' FYI, Benny still looked awfully cute with the smoke and stuff. The guy reached for his camera which he had kept nearby and out of sight. "Say cheese, boyfriend!''

Memories for the future!

"So, Lux! This was fun! I'll write the steps over in my potions book soon.'' That book had been the one Benny had given him as a present. It certainly came in handy.

Innocent looks…they all had them. And Benny met the former Hufflepuff’s version with a raised eyebrow of his own. Was it a badger thing? His gaze passing between his friend and boyfriend as he absently wondered that fact. Did practical jokes go right along with the loyalty? His musings were interrupted by Adi’s decision to answer his question about the duration of the potion’s effects.

Merlin’s small favors.

It wasn’t going to be long until he would stop having smoke billowing out of his ears and nose. However unfortunately for him, the camera came out before that all ended. “Cheese…” he said with face, relenting and posing for the pictures Adi was taking of him. Benny could be fun when he wanted to. Besides, he could probably get the Griff would likely pay for that later anyway when they were alone. He settled into a chair at the counter once the photoshoot was over and his boyfriend was seemingly wrapping things up with Lux, the dragon trying to ignore what was coming out of him.

"Did you even need to ask?" The gears were already working in her head, thinking of ideas for their next project. Whatever it was, they would have a lot of fun and end up with amazing results. She couldn't want to get started. "Oh, yes... We could make it last for a week."

Cackle.

Adi had enough pictures so he cast another grin at Benny then looked at Lux again. "We'll get down to the planning soon! Thanks for doing this today!'' He winked at her and moved to start cleaning up the excess ingredients. And he'd be storing the remaining potion for future use

No doubt it would come in handy.

"So, I'll see you around, Lux?'' And then they can commence planning and scheming their next potion. Hehe. Adi gave his friend a squishy hug before she left. She was just awesome! Such a sport for putting up with these pranks. And now, he had a smokey boyfriend to deal with. LOL.

More potions together.

And since he knew Adi quite well, he suspected more time with himself as guinea pig. Benny would have to get a better watch on things to see if he could try and temper his involveme---oh who was he kidding? The boyfriend of his had a way of getting around his defenses. And with a third party to distract him, he was already a goner.

Eyes to Lux for her remark and cackle. A week?! “Well then someone would be in the doghouse…excuse me…coyote house for sure,” Benny remarked in returning, giving an eyebrow to Adi. There was no way he would put up with anything like that for a week. Except maybe actually being a dragon. But then he doubted his other half would be able to stand him as a real dragon for a week. He’d miss his human side too much for that.

Soon enough things were cleaned up and Lux was leaving. The former Gryffindor giving her a friendly hug himself even as the smoke continued to come. As she left, Benny had returned to the mirror hoping it wouldn’t be long now.

Three Broomsticks - Meeting Azura

To say Benny was a touch nervous was an understatement. The girl they were meeting might be only 13 and someone at least Adi had met and liked, but it was still a big deal. This was the teenager that was going to change their lives. The one who after everything was made official was going to, for all intents and purpose, be Adi’s daughter. And his once they married in the future. A big step. A veeeeerrrrry big step. The dragon was doing his best to be that brave Gryffindor he could be.

Reaching the Three Broomsticks, the arranged meeting place once a Hogsmeade weekend was announced, Benny opened the door and moved to head inside, holding it open for Adi to take and follow. His blue eyes flickering around the establishment for anyone who could potentially match the description his other half had shared. “Do you see her?” he asked curious as he looked to him.

Coooooold.

It was so darn cold and Adi LOVED it! Granted he was all dressed snugly in his winter clothing and had opted to wear his actual glasses today (yeah, he liked wear sunglasses whether there was sun around or not). "Such a gentleman,'' he teased Benny who was holding the door open for him. "Thanks.'' Adi slipped into the warm pub, eyes casting around eagerly for Azura.

"Nope, I don't. She'll be here soon, I bet. Let's go grab a table.'' Adi lead the way over to a free one that was in plain sight of anyone coming through the door. Hey, he was even hoping to see a couple of his friends especially Ilia and Henric. He loosened the Hufflepuff scarf from around his neck as he sat and looked around at Benny. "It'll be fine,'' was his assurance to his boyfriend. Yeah, he knew Benny too well and could tell he was nervous.

Azura slowly pushed her way into the The Three Broomsticks, the purple eyed teen was a bit nervous about the upcoming meeting. Not only would she be seeing Adi again, but would be meeting her other future guardian.

She has mixed feelings about the whole adoption. She was excited about it of course! Someone wanted her and she was extremely happy that it was Adi. But on the other hand.. It meant her actual family didn't want her and she wasn't sure she was prepared to deal with a cut so deep right now.

So she pushed away those thoughts and looked around and let a smile cross her face as she saw Adi there. "Adi! " The teen smiles and walked over to him. "It's so good to see you. " She glanced up at the other Boy sitting there and she held out her hand to him.

"Hi, I'm Azura. " She said with a soft, slightly shy smile.

Benny wrinkled his nose playfully at the tease before nodding at Adi’s thanks. “You’re welcome.” What was he going to do…shut the door in his boyfriend’s face? The dragon switched to following his gaze until Adi confirmed Azura’s absence. So the dark-haired, purple-eyed girl wasn’t there and he hadn’t just been missing her. That gave them time to settle in before she came perhaps. His turn to follow Adi as lead them further into the restaurant and to a table where they would see her coming.

And they did.

He had just taken his own seat, opening his coat and loosening his own scarf from around his neck in the process, when the door opened to admit her into the well-worn establishment frequented by students and alumni alike. Benny watched as she smiled and called his other halves’ name before making her way over to them. His hands rubbing absently on the legs of his jeans beneath the table as he worked to calm and have himself appear normal to the girl. Especially when the attention and greeting was turned to him.

“Nice to meet you, Azura” Benny greeted with a soft but friendly smile of his own as he accepted her hand to shake. “I’m Ben,” he introduced, using the name he sometimes attempted to use with strangers that hadn’t gotten ‘Benny’ ingrained in their minds.

Adi's eyes surveyed the Three Broomsticks. It was always so welcoming. Or the persons were. He recognised a few familiar faces and waved in their directions. He'd get to catching up with them after Azura had left. Speaking of Azura... "There she is!'' he told Benny unnecessarily. It was unnecessary because he had told Benny all about her purple eyes. And how many persons with purple eyes were there?

Adi jumped to his feet to give Azura a biiiig, squishy hug. "Hey, Az! How's it going?'' He took a good look at her. She seemed alright. At least much better than she had when he had last seen her. The guy grinned as she introduced herself to Benny. "No, he's not!'' Adi interjected. "He's Benny.'' Cue him sticking his tongue out at the dragon.

"Hey, I'll be right back, okay? Going to grab us some butterbeer.'' Leaving the two, Adi went off. Yumyumyum butterbeer! Here he came!

Azura smiled warmly up at Adi as he hugged her and she hugged him back. Ahh, it was good to have a future guardian with the same sense of hugging as she did. Hugs were the greatest.. really they were.

"I'm doing all right." Which was mostly true.. She had some things on her mind, but no need to dump them on him just yet.

She turned her purple eyes up to the other boy at the table as he spoke, and she shook his hand.. "It's nice to meet you Ben." She said with a warm smile before Adi interjected saying his name was Benny..

She giggled softly.. "Do you prefer Ben, or Benny?" She asked as she looked up at him as Adi went to get some Butterbeers and Azura slid into the seat across from Benny.. "So, was I a pretty big surprise?" She asked him with a curious smile.

Benny had simply nodded as Adi announced Azura, then watched as the two of them hugged. Not that it was a surprise as his boyfriend was a big teddy bear, brother type. And he had kind of expected him to give a hard time about the name he gave. “Well no harm in trying,” he remarked back to the tease, sticking his own tongue out at his other half. Yeah, great show of maturity in front of the teenager. But then technically he was still one himself and Adi only just 20.

Not that that was a good excuse.

But then Adi was leaving them alone to get butterbeer while Azura took the seat across from him. “Benny actually,” he admitted with a shrug. “…its grown on me after all these years.” Which it had. And coming from certain people, it had a very important meaning to him. Not that he had a moment to dwell on that as the young girl in front of him asked another question cutting right to the point. “Definitely,” Benny answered with a slight nod, resting his arms close in front of him on the table. “Not exactly something one expects out of nowhere.”

Finding out your significant other wanted to adopt someone and all.

Adi still surveyed Azura and finally decided she was doing a lot better than before. That was great. He reckoned that lessons and friends and life in general at Hogwarts was keeping her distracted. Thank you, Hogwarts!

He laughed and shook his head at Benny. Reaaal mature, boyfriend! Then again, he himself had started the whole sticking out the tongue thing, yeah?

While he was getting the butterbeers, Adi kept peeking back towards Benny and Azura and was super pleased to see that they seemed to be getting along quite well. PHEW! That was a good thing.

"What are you two talking about?'' he asked curiously when he got back to their table. Adi set down three bottles of the yummy liquid. Mmmm! Butterbeers were the best! Once he was seated again, he eyed the two. They both seemed comfortable with each other. Good! Maybe Benny wasn't that nervous now.

Azura couldn't help the small giggle that left her lips as Benny stuck his tongue out at Adi.. That was cute and hilarious.. It helped her to see how at ease they were with one another.. Last thing she needed was guardians who were tense with one another..

It helped soothe a few of her worries and she smiled a bit before turning back to Benny..

"Has it? Well, then I shall call you Benny." She said with a nod as she looked up at him with a half smile on her face. She had figured she would be a bit of a surprise, she was shocked with Adi mentioned it after she had poured out her story... but she was happy with it and so here she was..

"I can imagine not. Well, I don't bite really.. and I want to make things as easy as possible.. I bake too!! In case that would help out? I can cook as well, but my baking is really better." She said with a smile. "I really want to get to know the two of you better and I'm looking forward to being your daughter.. sorta.." She said with a bit of a shy smile up at Benny before she looked up at Adi as he returned..

She put her small hands around the butterbeer bottle before smiling a little..

"I was asking him if I was a surprise." She said with a soft giggle.

When Azura’s smaller laugh joined Adi’s at his behavior showed Benny he wasn’t just amusing to his boyfriend. It also released some of the tension that was bound to try to infiltrate a meeting such as this. It wasn’t like the impending adoption didn’t come with saddened thoughts. He nodded at the girl’s question in confirmation, smiling as she agreed to call him Benny. So he didn’t mind the nickname he had striven to get away from as soon as others had tried giving it to him in second year.

“Good…though the nature of my aspiring profession prepares me for such,” he remarked, his tone light showing he was teasing her. Trying it make it easier from his end as well. Benny continued to listen as she spoke about her interest and ability in baking and cooking as if it was a bargaining chip. “Technically Adi has both covered, but I’m sure he’d share the kitchen.” Azura certainly didn’t need to contribute to the household in such away. Just be the usual teenag—daughter. She said it first and his thoughts continued with it causing Benny to go quiet.

Thankfully Adi returned at that moment, depositing the butterbeers in front of them both. “Thanks…” he said quietly, nodding in agreement as Azura answered his question. Not that it had been the first surprise Adi ever played on him. “So…getting to know us...” he mused, changing the subject. “My favorite color is blue,” the dragonologist started, to begin small. “What about yours?”
