A Lion and a Badger

Benadi...

Two best friends, first real close during school and now inseparable as they start the rest of their lives together.
Benjamin Atreyu and Aditya Rehman are now on their own outside the normalcy and safety of the walls of Hogwarts.
Wizarding University and the great wide world await the boyfriends as they explore what its like to really be adults in the wizarding and muggle worlds.

Locations
Benadi Apartment: Two bedroom apartment in the outskirts of Edinburgh. Their first very own home close to school.

Cassiopeia's Cafe: A friendly cafe owned by Benny's mother

Rehman House: The childhood home of Adi, home of Saieed and Indira Rehman

Wizarding University: Edinburgh Campus of the school, where Benny and Adi take classes towards their degrees.

Scene 1 : Cassiopeia's Cafe

Ben's mom's cafe was chosen as the location for the ritual meeting of the families. Aka the first full Atreyu-Rehman get-together. The one where the boys tell their loved ones the truth about their relationship and see just how they react.

In retrospect, Benny probably should have expected that Adi was up to something. Either because of him sending him on ahead first or just the general feeling of knowing his boyfriend and his perchance for pranks and such. But he hadn't thought on it, his attention more on the fact that his muscles were not used to the action of running like he was. Not to mention, his body and mind might still have been waking up a bit more.

But if he hadn't been awake, the dragon suddenly was when the weight of his running companion was upon his back, the dark arms around his neck. "ADI!" Benny staggered but managed to keep his feet as he moved them to regain his balance, his arms taking hold of Adi's legs around him to spread his boyfriend's weight around. "This I did not sign up for."

Comfy.

Adi was super comfy the moment he leapt onto Benny's back. Years of piggybacks from your bestie would do that, ya know. "BENNY!'' he replied back with loads of enthusiasm and a very childish laugh. Was he ever going to grow up? Nah, not really. "Hey! No falling over, Dragon!'' he said as his boyfriend staggered somewhat. He let his feet be adjusted as Benny saw fit.

Adi laughed again. "I have to keep you on your toes. If I don't I'd be a very boring boyfriend, won't I?'' And boring was something Aditya Rehman was not, thank you very much. "Come on, let's see how far you can get us before you collapse. And no cheating!'' He playfully poked Benny behind his neck.

Laughter…oh so familiar laughter.

Followed by Adi’s emotional yell of his name echoing his own of his but with a far different emotion. The amusement in his voice only cementing that the boyfriend was quite enjoying this. The piggyback ride AND the surprise he had pulled on his dragon. He snorted when Adi instructed him not to fall over. “I’m trying…but you surprised me.” And surprises pulled on you while running plus the additional weight on your body of a full grown human male, no matter how fit, was bound to run the risk of falling or at least staggering like he had done.

“And we certainly can’t have that…” Benny mused with a chuckle of his own. There was no denying Adi was who or what brought the excitement into his life from the get-go. And piggy-backing on him, even while he was in human form, wasn’t the worse thing the Hippogriff had and could do to him. “No guarantee I can actually jog with you,” he said as he gathered himself and ever so gingerly shifted Adi before starting to walk at least. “No cheating…got it.”

With or without the poke.

It was safe to say this was one of those moments were Adi was having the time of his life.

He heard the snort and reply and gave another laugh. "My surprises are always the good ones though,'' was the black haired young man's response. "I suppose this is one way to have my morning run.'' By making the boyfriend do it for him. LOL! But there was a positive side to this... Benny was getting his work out doubly and making up for those maaaany days he slept in.

Oh right! It may be difficult for him to actually jog. No worries. Adi could easily fix that. "Alrightey! A brisk walk would do just fine.'' After he was shifted, he settled his face slightly above Benny's blond head so that he could see where they were going. It was a position that allowed him to inhale the scent of the hair which smelt great, by the way.

Benny had to fight the urge to snort again or roll his eyes as Adi mentioned his surprises only being good. There were a few instances where the jury was still out on whether or not they were good in his mind’s eye. Like all the transformations that his other half put him through. Sure sometimes were fun but others made him feel more than a little awkward. He wasn’t meant to be a girl or at least dressed up like one.

So no jogging was required but the pace was set at a brisk walk. A minor plus in the grand scheme of things. “As you wish, Master,” he remarked with a touch of jest as he tried picking up the pace as he got used to moving with Adi again. The dragon almost lumbering along like the dragon he was nicknamed after. “Enjoying the view?” he absently mused, noting where his boyfriend was and making sure not to try and tilt his head up and bump his passenger in the face.

The cold air was rushing his face but didn't really affect his eyes due to the fact that he was wearing his glasses. Adi felt completely at ease as the hairs on the front part of his head (the rest of it was hidden under a woolly hat) blew around because of the said wind. "Yep! There's always a great view from aboard LionDragon Airlines,'' he replied happily. When Benny was actually in dragon form, it was even better.

"Soooo... reckon you can make it a to a few streets from here and back?'' The Hufflepuff was well aware that it would not be easy for Benny to go far with him on his back but he could compromise. "Or maybe to the end of this street and again to the apartment... a few times.'' Hehe. Whichever option the boyfriend was up for, Adi would go along with it.

Right...

If only he had his wings...or his whole dragon form. This would be much easier before the muscles present there were more capable of carrying Adi's form upon his back. Nevertheless he was still moving at a decent brisk pace down the street, thankful for the early time for once because he didn't have any obstacles in his path at the moment because of it.

Benny mulled over the two options placed before him, options that confirmed Adi's intention of not getting down from his back until they were done. "I think...I'll try option number one," he finally offered. It was more direct, less turning and running the risk of struggling and maybe dropping the other man. That wouldn't make his back feel any better because he'd feel bad and Adi would feel bad...or hurt...or both.

"I should throw Cantis at you,'' Adi began at random, the image he was having in his head of Benny marching on with him in a piggyback and singing all too amusing. "It would be fun!'' And saying that, he booped his chin against Benny's head since he had risen over his head in his excitement with the Cantis idea. "OUCH!'' Adi's teeth banged together rather painfully which caused him to wince. He wiggled his jaw as though trying to shake the pain away. "Sorry, dragon! Didn't mean to bump your head.''

And it seemed his man was up to the challenge, didn't it? Adi readjusted the arms around him. "That's the spirit! All this exercise today will make up for those days when you're having beauty sleep instead.'' Adi chuckled happily. "I suppose you'll want a big breakfast when you get back because of all this walking.''

He would have eyed his boyfriend if he could see him. As it was, Benny nearly growled at the mention of the spell in question. “Don’t you dare.” It would so NOT be fun, at least to him and he was so hoping Adi was totally teasing him to see what his reaction would be and not seriously considering putting him through that sort of torment. But before he could say anything else, he felt his rider bump his head into his and cringed at the discomfort and Adi’s yell, pausing in stride momentarily.

“Its…okay,” he admitted, having a feeling he hadn’t taken the brunt of it. “Are you okay?”

And then Adi was shifting his hold of him, only moving again once he settled down. “Merlin help me,” he remarked before his stomach grumbled in response to the mention of food. Apparently exercising on an empty stomach was a no-no for his body.

He rubbed his chin. That didn't hurt as much as the 'shocking' effect his teeth was experiencing. "I'm alright. Your skull is as hard as a rock, dragon!'' Thankfully he hadn't bit his tongue! That would have been more painful. He patted the top of Benny's head. "I reckon you might have a bump,'' the guy teased.

"I forgot my Ipod back at the apartment,'' Adi said casually and straining to keep the laughter from his voice. "I could do with some entertainment, ya know. Get ready, Benny!'' Clinging to his man with one hand, Adi reached for his wand, lightly tapping Benny with it when it was retrieved. "See? Got my wand ready! Be sure to sing lots of rock music, okay?''

Of course he was kidding. He could hear it very much in his boyfriend's voice he didn't want the spell cast so Adi was going to oblige.

He was alright….that was good. “All the better to put up with his boyfriend’s stubbornness,” Benny remarked, teasing Adi. As for his own head that Adi was patting, the former Gryffindor let it go. He’d had worse bumps and scrapes and likely to have plenty more where that come from. “I’ll live,” he mused, more grateful that his other half hadn’t hurt himself…too bad.

On the other hand, he didn’t much like where Adi’s words seemed to be going. His grip tightened on his rider as he loosened a hand and as he felt the wand touch him, Benny almost expected to start singing uncontrollably once more. It wasn’t like Adi used vocalized spells much anymore. However it seemed he was safe…for now. “I will drop you right now,” he threatened. There was no way he wanted to sing against his will, especially out in public.

Just try him.

Adi snorted. Benny hit the nail right on the head. He was super stubborn but he couldn't help that. It was a flaw he inherited from his mother. "Luckily I'm dating you then.'' His boyfriend certainly put up with a lot of his antics and his stubbornness was a major one. "Of course you will! You're a tough dragon.'' HIS tough dragon <3

Ohhh, a threat! Adi was still struggling not to laugh. "Nah, you won't. You won't want to injure the poor griff, would you?'' he asked and absently tapped Benny's blond head once more before quickly slipping his wand back into his pocket. He couldn't keep it out even and risk been seen with it though it was quite early and everyone around was asleep. But not to worry, Dragon. He hadn't thought of the incantation so you were safe.

Adi snorted at the tease and Benny could tell he got the jest behind it. “Uh huh…one lucky hippogriff who got a dragon to deal with you all these years.” It wasn’t like anyone else in his life, except maybe Henric, would be able to keep up with the piggy back rides the badger liked to surprise on people like himself. And he would likely put up with it until he was old enough to claim he couldn’t, or at least until they had kids to take his boyfriend’s face on his back.

Had they been facing each other when Adi denied his willingness to drop him, Benny would have stared…eyed him…as if daring him to push him over enough to test that theory. “So sure of that are you?” he absently mused in mock challenge. Did they trust each other enough, especially after the second tap of the wand on his head? The dragon waiting with baited breath for the urge to sing to envelope him.

"Yep! And said dragon is gonna be taking me on piggybacks for the rest of our lives, okay?'' Adi had been doing this -hitching piggybacks- for Merlin knew how many years now and would continue to do so. He continued peering over his boyfriend's head, watching the houses go by. Why didn't more persons wake up early? Gosh, just look at how deserted the neighbourhood was. Oh, well. Less hassle for a Dragon and a Hippogriff.

Was he sure that Benny wouldn't drop him? For the most part, yep! Because Adi trusted his boyfriend a zillion and one percent but he figured that if Benny was up for some entertainment- seeing him being dumped unceremoniously on the ground- then he would actually go through with the threat. "Yep! I'm sure! So sing away dragon!'' Hehehe. Benny must be wondering why he didn't have the urge to do so though.

“If you say so,” Benny remarked with raised eyebrow, finding it amusing that Adi had seemed to read his mind where the matter was concerned. “We’ll see how my body holds out when I get older,” he mused, "you might need to create a potion to ensure I stay all strong for you and your piggy back rides.” You know to make sure his bones and hips didn’t go out and make him wind up in a wheelchair or something else because of the strenuous activity in his eighties and nineties.

Cue minor shift of Adi in his arms as they continued to walk.

Or rather he continued to walk.

Through the quiet streets that thankfully didn’t get to see his yawn. His body just wasn’t used to being up so early when it wasn’t being dragged to one of Bellaire’s classes. That was it! This walk was like the ones he always had to take down all the stairs in the morning and evening. With Adi’s presence on his back the book bag and incline of the steps. “Give it up…I’m onto you Conductor.” The spell would have taken effect by now. He had that much experience with the Cantis spell.

Ah! A potion! That would be the perfect solution for the problem of Benny becoming ancient. "Why don't I just give you Re'em blood?'' The substance had the ability to give the drinker immense strength. Though Adi had suggested it, he was kidding. Suppose Benny drank too much and went into Hulk mode? BENNY SMASH! Ehehehe.

As Benny repositioned him slightly, Adi also shifted his arms to ease them comfortably around his boyfriend's shoulders and neck. He laughed and squeezed Benny. "Okay, fine! I didn't cast the spell but you never know when I might.'' That one or the antler spell. Mhmmm. "Hey, you've covered a good amount of ground.'' He had only just realised this but he shouldn't be surprised. Benny once played loads of Quidditch and it was just possible his body hadn't totally forgotten what it's like to exercise this much.

Re’em blood?

Benny tried to remember what exactly that was. Well he knew what a Re’em was as it was a creature which were his specialty. It was the potions aspect of the blood he was shaky on. “You want to make me…a bull?” he offered questioningly, working off the first thing that had come to mind. It wasn’t like it would be the first time, or even the second, third of fourth through tenth time Adi had turned him into a creature.

Adi moved with him as he shifted so they both were seemingly happier with their new positions in this team working enterprise. Then he was squeezed as the boyfriend laughed off his comment calling him out. “I am well aware of that, my dear trickster.” There was good reason that he was Thor and Adi was Loki, at least in the more brotherly incarnation of their relationship.

As for their workout…”Mhm, And I was thinking of turning around at the corner…if that’s alright with my personal trainer.”

Adi snorted. "That sounds highly appealing. Thanks for the idea!'' Haha! Benny hadn't meant to, he was sure but Adi was going to keep the idea of Bull!Benny in the back of his mind. "Not literally one... for now... but as STRONG as one. That means lot more piggybacks for me!'' Woot!

Ah, yes! The boyfriend knew him SO well. It was why Adi like surprising him at time. You know, to keep him on his toes and not keep things boring. "I am the Master of Trickery! And let's not forget the Universe.'' LOL! Nah, he didn't consider himself either of those but for the sake of fun, he liked calling himself that.

Turning around at the corner? That was quite fine with him! "Whatever the dragon wants!''

Ben bit back a laugh as Adi snorted much like the bull in question. However he did in fact groan as the idea was accepted as a future possibility for a transformation. Him and his big mouth giving his prankster boyfriend ideas on how to prank him. His head tilting slightly when Adi backpedaled and tried to assure him that a transformation wasn’t in the works. Yeah…sure. “Well there’s always my dragon form to take you on flights…” he mused in answer. That he didn’t much mind once he had gotten it down completely and enjoyed the feeling of being a dragon.

Master of Trickery! And ….the Universe

That got a roll of the eyes. Someone was indeed acting a little full of himself. Though he was sure it was all in good fun just as it had been at any other instance where Adi spoke in a similar hyperbole. “If you say so…Master,” he gave in with a chuckle.

But good news, the passenger slash boyfriend wasn’t going to push him any further than he was already doing. “Goodie…” Benny remarked relieved, continuing to jog until they reached said corner where he slowed to walking pace. “Hold on…” he instructed as he moved in a half circle on the sidewalk so he could turn around without making any sudden moves. And now they were on their way back…back to their apartment where hopefully breakfast was on the menu. His stomach was just about grumbling with the energy he was expelling.

Adi sniggered at the groan. Yep! He heard that, Benny! His bestie- boyfriend must be regretting letting that slip. "True! Dragon rides are the best!'' Of course they were not done often and even when they were, the Disillusionment Charm was used. When they had their own property miles and miles from civilisation, they won't have to worry about that though.

"Master says so, soooo it's definitely true.'' Ehehehe. Adi was definitely impressed with Benny being able to run that far with him on his back. "A few more of these in the morning and you'll be able to run a marathon,'' he teased. The Puffer clung to his boyfriend as they turned annnnnd it was back to their apartment! "Awesome! You didn't drop me!''

No further talk of a bull. Benny wasn’t interested in being bulked up and made into a bovine creature any more than any of the other surprise transformations he had been put through over the time Adi had the ability to do them. So no more getting ideas in that brain of yours Mr. Hippogriff. He was a dragon pure a simple and a dragon his creature self would be. Well until his animangus form fully developed into what it was to be. The only thing he was sure of was it wasn’t a dragon or any creature of the reptilian or amphibian nature.

Not with the furry tail.

“As you wish, Master,” he remarked, giving in. For now. Lest he get the punishment of having to go a further distance with Adi on his back. As such, Benny snorted at his boyfriend’s comments of the future. “I think not...” Running was not the type of activity he wanted to go too far in. Twenty-six miles…no way hosea. As for not dropping him. “Like you had any doubt?!” the dragon exclaimed in mock surprise as he began the jog back the way they had come.

“You behaved…for the most part…so you don’t get dropped.”

This was a morning well spent. Adi could definitely say that he was looking forward to more mornings when Benny came jogging with him. He poked his boyfriend’s shoulder. “I’m training you for the next marathon and I’m signing you up for it,’’ he said as seriously as he could. Ahh, poor Benny and all those miles. He would do much better flying that distance, Adi would like to think.

He laughed. “Nope! None at all!’’ There was no one he trusted more in the world than this guy right here. And even if Adi had been dropped, he would have just laughed it off. After some sulking at his boyfriend, of course! “I am a well behave Hippogriff when I want to be,’’ he said with much dignity in an attempt to back up this statement.

Annnnd back they went! “Not much further, Dragon! You can do this!’’

Adi could think on an idea of his all he wanted, that didn’t mean Benny was going to participate in it. Especially when the only way to force or coerce by magic and potions was probably illegal. He mocked looking hurt at the poke before shaking his head. “Keep dreaming…” he remarked, “because that’s the only place that even will be happening.” It wasn’t like he could fly instead of run those courses. You know, the whole muggle statute thing.

Good…trust all around. If their romantic relationship had brought anything around between them, it was that they weren’t jealous or mistrustful of each other. So now it was able to be all a joke between them. Of course Adi being a well behaved hippogriff was also a joke…at least to Benny. “Right…” he teased chuckling. Seemed like he was struggling to defend himself from his perspective.

His attention went back fully to what lay ahead at Adi’s next words. “Goodie…” Benny remarked. “Then you sooooo owe me.”

Adi sniffed and pouted childishly, a pout that Benny could not see, of course but since the two knew each other super well, he wouldn't be surprised if the dragon heard the pout in his voice. "Fineee! You don't know what you're missing.'' Or maybe he did? Hehe. Whatever the case, Adi knew quite well he wouldn't have any success in actually getting Benny signed up for any marathon.

The guy chuckled. "Indeed I do! A big breakfast for you when you get back then!'' Mhmm. Adi would make all of Benny's favourite things today. "Hey! We're almost back!'' He could see their apartment. Just a few steps... okay, maybe a little more than a few... and Benny could collapse.

Benny heard the sniff and could only imagine the pout that went with it. He knew his boyfriend well enough that even not seeing his face, he was aware he was playfully trying to make him feel sorry about things enough to give in. And even if he had seen it, the former Gryffindor wouldn’t have given into the puppy dog eyes of his other half in reference to the marathon idea. At least he would have remained as stubborn as he could about it not happening.

A big breakfast…

The dragon didn’t always have the biggest appetite but he could be into it this morning. He had expelled enough energy today so far. In confirmation, Benny swore his stomach grumbled in hunger, waiting to be filled. “Something to look forward to…” he mused. Well besides not having to move anymore with Adi on his back. Oh look…they were almost there, the jogger halfway tempted to pick up the pace to be it closer all that much quicker, but it was already too much. “…almost there.”
