Benadi...

Two best friends, first real close during school and now inseparable as they start the rest of their lives together.
Benjamin Atreyu and Aditya Rehman are now on their own outside the normalcy and safety of the walls of Hogwarts.
Wizarding University and the great wide world await the boyfriends as they explore what its like to really be adults in the wizarding and muggle worlds.

Locations
Benadi Apartment: Two bedroom apartment in the outskirts of Edinburgh. Their first very own home close to school.

Cassiopeia's Cafe: A friendly cafe owned by Benny's mother

Rehman House: The childhood home of Adi, home of Saieed and Indira Rehman

Wizarding University: Edinburgh Campus of the school, where Benny and Adi take classes towards their degrees.

Scene 1 : Cassiopeia's Cafe

Ben's mom's cafe was chosen as the location for the ritual meeting of the families. Aka the first full Atreyu-Rehman get-together. The one where the boys tell their loved ones the truth about their relationship and see just how they react.

Benny felt Adi’s arms go around him once more, hugging him, and he in turn leaned against his boyfriend in his hold quite content. It was a good day. “Me too,” he agreed though it was rhetorical since it was clear that it was a big burden off his shoulder. Adi was well aware of how much it had bothered him, even as he tried not to show it all that much. Benny hadn’t wanted to make it harder on his boyfriend than it already no doubt was.

And then he was being released. “Oh really…” he mused with bemused eyebrow. When didn’t Adi have a large appetite? “Um…I don’t know,” Benny remarked with a shrug. “Though maybe we can cook something together,” he suggested as he got up to his feet. It wasn’t like he had been the one that had been tired just a handful of minutes before. And couples cooking was in fact quite special.

"As if you didn't know,'' Adi ribbed. Really, Benny knew him best. Probably even more than Indira. "That sounds like a good idea. Or I could just sit on the counter and watch YOU cook.'' Hehe. It didn't matter what they did as long as he got to food and got to be with Benny.

He jumped to his feet, all set to follow his bestie boyfriend. "Thing is, I can't make up my mind as to what I want.'' Well, he knew something sweet was going to be polished off afterwards. Adi mentally ran through the stuff they had in the cupboards and fridge. Hmmm... it was such hard work to make up one's mind about food sometimes. "I know! Fish and chips with ketchup, mayo and hot sauce all over it.'' Especially the hot sauce! Lots of that!

Well yeah, he kinda did. That's why it was a tease. Benny had to be allowed them when Adi tended to get a lot over him. Like now...the twisting his offer to cook together into him cooking all on his own while his boyfriend watched. "Hey...that wasn't what I agreed to," he mused back-hand swatting Adi's shoulder. No balling out in the helping dear hippogriff! This dragon wasn't the dinner slave for the day.

But he'd agree to the choice of meal however. "Fish and chips it is."

Class had let out and Benny had packed up his belongings to head out. Adi was also due out soon, so the aspiring dragonologist made his way to their meeting spot. The bench in one of the parks on campus was a happy medium between out of the way and not scary cornered and they had claimed it early on as a place close enough to their respective buildings. Getting there, he took a seat and casually waited for sight of his boyfriend as the day was gradually decending towards dusk.

The Gobstones game at University finished early today. Naturally, the practice team on which he had been playing on won which made Adi extra happy. The team had excellent but he wasn't going to deny that he had been one of the persons who helped greatly with that win. Anywhoooo, he was unusually excited today. Why? Because he had finally done it!

HE WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GO INTO HIS ANIMAGUS FORM WITHOUT A PROBLEM!

And it was all thanks to Professor Sophia Bellaire

and her hard work with him. Adi was forever grateful to her and the time she put into helping him even after she had moved on from teaching at Hogwarts.

Book bag swung over his left shoulder, he headed out to meet Benny. He saw him instantly but stayed out sight and snucked silently up behind him. Once close enough, Adi dropped his bag onto the ground and focused on his animagus form.

A second, he looked down at himself, pleased with what he saw. He then padded off towards his boyfriend, ducking under the bench and coming to a halt to sit on his hind legs and staring up at Benny. He gave a little ferocious bark and put out his left front paw on one of Benny's knee. Hehe. Why not give him a little scare? The said paw had a curious patch of black fur and against the brown that occupied the rest of his paws and legs in the form of a circle. The brown circle matched up exactly with where Adi would usually wear his chosen wrist watch each day.

When Benny looked down, he would see a fully grown, bushy tailed coyote with brown fur everywhere save for its back and flank which were mixed with black, the inner parts of its pointed ears which were covered in white fur and its under belly and muzzle also covered in white.

The eyes were the only physical traits that could have given the true nature of him away because they were the same brown ones that were usually filled with laughter and mischief.

Benny kept his gaze flittering around casually not wanting to be caught off guard by anything lest his mind wander. His eyes glancing towards his watch occasionally to check the time. Yet he didn't spot Adi coming his way, nor the animal, until suddenly a canine form slipping out from under the bench and sat in front of him looking none too nice. What with his bark and stare as all.

He might spend his time to study magical creatures, but he knew enough about the muggle ones to reconize this creature as more than a meer dog wandering the campus. It was a wol----no a coyote---and it had growled and put a powerful paw on his knee like no ones business. "Um...nice doggy..." Benny remarked,freezing in place, trying to think of the best move. Or action period as he wasn't about to make any sudden moves. His right hand moved slow and deliberate towards where his wand was kept as he kept his gaze on his canine companion.

"I'm sure we could be friends...I like animals," he absently mused aloud as he mulled over options. For now he was doing his best to be brave about it.

Doggy?

Coyote!Adi snorted. Sureee, he may have a few canine characteristics but he was a coyote. A big, strong one too. Mhmmm. His eyes followed Benny's hand which he knew was reaching for his wand. He bared his sharp, pointy teeth and gave a low, fierce growl that may be saying, "Going to jinx your boyfriend, Dragon?'' Yeah, he was still trying to scare him but he wasn't sure this was working out because Benny, like him, was not afraid of animals, mundane nor magical.

Without warning, Coyote!Adi took a leap up and onto the bench beside Benny. He stuck his muzzle at his face and tried to glare, growling once more. It was all he could do to holding himself back from giving Benny a lick. Hehe. Coyotes didn't lick humans after all, right?

Was that a snort?

Sure dogs and their ilk could snort because all you needed was a nose and they had that. But then it growled and bared his teeth and Benny’s hand froze in a position before he could grasp the familiar wood. “Okay….no wand.” He got that message loud and clear, or at least that the coyote didn’t want him to move no matter how small it was. Not that he was going to harm his canine companion, just feel better with some line of defense if it decided to be nasty.

And then suddenly it was upon on the bench seat with him and he had to turn his head to keep an eye on the creature. Which is apparently what it wanted given the behavior towards him. It was when the coyote stared at him that something seemed off. His blue eyes met with deep brown ones. Which wasn't necessarily an oddity but caught his attention.

Coyote!Adi had started to nod his furry head at Benny's decision about no wand. He didn't want to get jinxed, hexed or cursed, did he? Nope, nope! He continued to bare those pointy teeth and growl but when Benny looked at him- like REALLY looked at him- he stopped. Hey, those blue eyes were one of the physical aspects of his boyfriend that he liked a lot and it was hard not to be distracted by them. Mhmmm.

Was it normal for coyotes to way their tails? Adi didn't know nor did her care for that's what he started to do. Swish, swish, swish! Wag, wag, wag! Hi, Benny! Recognise me as yet? And yep! Adi was still resisting the urge to lick him. He didn't want to make it tooooo easy for Benny to figure out.

The nodding had been overshadowed by the bared teeth and growling. That was until they were locked in each other’s eyes when it seemed to calm down. He was staring into those chocolate brown eyes when he noticed movement behind the coyote. Its tail was…wagging? That was something Benny didn’t believe wild dogs did, believing it to be a more domesticated action. “Um…good coyote…” he remarked tentatively moving a hand to stroke the canine’s head.

Something about the coyote seemed familiar. Something he couldn’t quite figu---

Wait…he reminded him of Glider…Adi’s patronus.

Except this was a real life coyote not a corporal patronus.

Or a coyote that didn’t quite act like a coyote.

“…Adi?”

Benny's eyes shifted from his to his tail. Nooooo, Benny! Look back at these brown eyes! Hehe. Yep! He was a good coyote, wasn't he? He had, after all, stopped scaring his boyfriend. Involuntarily, Coyote!Adi gave a happy little whine at the hand stroking his head and leaned into it. It was so comforting, that hand on his furry, canine head.

See? He wasn't a big, bad coyote.

Adi continued to nudge and lean against the hand when the Gryffindor figured it out. He gave another happy whine and licked his boyfriend's hand. He nodded his head, that human gesture of confirmation. Yep, dragon! It's me!

His demonstration done, Adi focused on his human form. A second later, he was sitting beside Benny with a big grin on his face. "Hi! Don't I make a cute, furry friend?" Oh yeah! "Were you scared?'' Hehe.

The coyote appeared to like his scratching and rubbing so Benny continued it, resulting in more nudging and rubbing against his hand. And then there was the sound…was that happy. And a…lick? So did that mean---yep, the nod confirmed that and his hand slowly was removed from the canine’s head. The next thing that he saw was one coyote morphing into one hippogriff former badger human sitting beside him looking all proud of himself.

“Hi,” he echoed, getting used to it all before playfully nudging his boyfriend with his shoulder. “Once I’m not growled at or threatened with those teeth.” Neither had the most appealing connotation to them, no matter how friendly the coyote might have seemed in other moments. “Nah….not one bit.” He was a Gryffindor and a creature lover after all.

Man! Adi could not stop grinning!

Okay, so he usually grinned a lot but this time it was different. This was one of those extremely happy moments of his life. After all that work, he had succeeded! And now he got to share it with his other half. He nudged back Benny. "Lies,'' he joked. "You loved my furry head.'' Adi laughed now. "I know you wouldn't be.'' He had handled dragons, after all. Not that those were scary.

"So! What do you think? I'm finally able to do it without any problems! Bellaire helped me registered and everything.'' Thank you, Professor! Yep! He'll always call her that.

Benny laughed as he was nudged back, wrapping an arm playfully around his boyfriend's head. "This furry head?" the dragon questioned, bringing the hand to ruffle Adi's hair. Yeah, a coyote wasn't something that was as dangerous as other creatures he had handled over the years. As dangerous as the dragons that were to be his life's work should all go well.

What did he think? "Its really cool..." he remarked entirely truthful. To turn into another creature at will. If it wasn't, he wouldn't be working on his own practice of the skill sans Bellaire. The name unconsciously sending him into a shiver. She and Benny just never had a workable relationship. "I'm proud of you," he added with a smile. It was a great accomplishment after all. Something to be proud of.

Ah! Playful Benny!

This was one of his boyfriend's sides that Adi loved. He joined in the laughter as his ~~big~~ head was held prisoner in one of Benny's Beater arms. "Hey! You'll pop my head!'' he joked. "Yup, this furry head.'' More laughing happened as his hair was ruffled. He liked hair ruffles. Mhmmm.

Adi grinned. "Glad you think so. Now you'll have an extra four legged creature to take care of.'' Of course he was referring to Ilia's precious Garm whom he and Benny took care of while Ilia was stuck at Hogwarts. "Thanks!'' Still grinning, he put an arm around Benny before pecking his cheek. "You'll be able to do yours soon enough too.'' Yep! Adi had a MEGA amount of confidence in Benny. But the shiver had not gone unnoticed. "Still haven't gotten over that she threatened to turn you into a frog?''

He thrived best on this type of laughter of his other half’s, the type that didn’t require him to become something he wasn’t or be dosed with babbling beverage. The general fun that happened best when they were alone. “Nah…not pop,” he mused,” maybe just cause a small temporary leak to let some air out.” You know, so his big head didn’t get too enormous. Needed to get him through the apartment doors when they returned home. Giving the head another ruffle, he let Adi’s furry head go.

At the mention of an extra creature to take care of, Benny groaned. “Lucky I love----four legged creatures,” he remarked, adding dramatic pause and talking about creatures instead of maybe the expected ‘you’. Ugg memory of THAT threat by Bellaire. Cue groan. Yet still there was an arm slipped around him and a kiss in the cheek plus encouragement on his own endeavor so it wasn't all bad. “To be turned into a frog…taking my wand...nearly messing with my OWLs.” It all shaded his feelings on the woman.

“Thank Merlin for York.”

Man! It seemed his boyfriend's sense of humour was just improving over the years! Adi thought that he would take a bit of credit for that and right now, he was busy laughing his head off at Benny's next comment. "You love my big head so as if you would want to let it deflate.'' He stuck his tongue out as his head was released. Great Hippogriffs! Wasn't their relationship like the most awesome one ever?!

"See? I knew it! You'd love me in any form.'' Hehe. Adi gave Benny a one armed squish and kept his arm around him. "Well, turning into a frog wouldn't be so bad, would it?'' he joked. ''I would kiss froggy you so that you'd turn back to normal.'' Just like that Muggle tale about the princes and the frog. "She wouldn't have taken your wand forever since she wouldn't want you failing Transfiguration at least.'' Nah, he didn't think Bellaire would have actually come through on her threats. "Yep, York is awesome. She'll have you changing into a creature soon enough.'' He missed Bee. They had had some great Professors at Hogwarts.

"You ready to go, Benny?'' Could they go home and get some food now? A day at University always made him super hungry.

Benny rolled his eyes as Adi tried to deny what he was joking about. “If you say so…” he simply mused his thoughts in turn denying his boyfriend’s comment. His big head made things interesting but he wasn’t about to say that he loved it. It was just a part of Adi and he had to deal with it in stride for all the good of them together.

As for loving Adi in any form, that concept more often pertained to Adi loving him, given the antics of his other half’s in potions and transfiguration. But like the big head, it didn’t matter because it was Adi, the man he loved. “If you got me back.” Bellaire might have kept him prisoner like she tried to do with the charms professor that he had been the accomplice of. “But then you would be the princess,” he added in jest to try and be more positive.

It wasn’t like Adi was about to change his mind about the professor. They would just have to agree to disagree. And have different preferred transfiguration professors. “You’re going to love that.” The boyfriend did like him all cute and animal.

“Mhmm…I was only waiting for you to come,” he answered, moving to get up to his feet. “Time to go home.”

Adi grinned. “Then a princess I shall have to be.’’ Switching things up from when he always joked that Benny was Sleeping Beauty because he liked sleeping in late. Still grinning, he stood up and reached for Benny’s hand. Here’s to home! And food, of course. Hehe.

It was Christmas morning! Adi had bounded out of bed like a kid, excited to get to his presents. He had planned on skipping his usual morning run today because he had so many presents to owl to his friends and his and Benny’s parents. After uselessly trying to wake his other half with ‘good morning kisses’ and was grumbled at and pushed away, Adi had given up and decided to go shower and then make them both breakfast. This wasn’t the first time his boyfriend had refused to be woken and Adi always found it highly amusing.

In the kitchen, Adi cheerfully hummed to himself, bustling about making all of Benny’s favourite breakfast stuff. Why? Because in addition to today being Christmas, it was also their first year anniversary of being a couple. He was smiling like a goofball to himself as he zoned back to last year Christmas. What a present he had gotten in the form of a confession from Benny about his feelings.

When he was done making their food, Adi bounded over to their living room and awesomely dressed Christmas tree. He supposed he should start sending off those presents now… Conrad had quite a job to do. The poor owl. He would get a well-deserved rest and treats when he was all done. But Adi paused as his eye caught all the presents that had been delivered so far. He was tempted to open them but he wanted to wait on Benny. Speaking of Benny and presents… Adi had gotten him a stuffed dragon. Ya know, to replace that dreadful one that was given to him by a certain someone. He sat himself down on the floor and reached for the somewhat awkwardly wrapped dragon. He was positive Benny would like this one more.

And yep! It was still Adi’s ambition to set the one his boyfriend currently owned on fire

Too early.

Adi was up and trying to wake him up too early, especially on a day where there was nothing pending planned. As much as he liked the wake up kisses, Benny grumbled and pushed him away, rolling over in the hopes of catching a few more zzzz’s at least. The dragon grateful when his boyfriend seemingly gave to do whatever it was Adi went off to do. He in turn sunk back into the gathering of pillows and blankets as he searched for the return to dreamland.

All too soon, the alluring smells of good food being cooked had built up to waft into the bedroom, pulling his senses back to reality. Benny groaned as his stomach protested sleeping any longer and he slowly opened his eyes to stare up at the ceiling. A hand lazily moving to rub the last of the sleep from his gaze. It took him several minutes to bring himself to actually get up out of the bed, standing with a yawn and a good stretch. Then slipping on a robe, he meandered into the outer living spaces of the apartment, boistered by the smells and sounds he encountered as his brain reawakened fully.

His blue eyed gaze eventually spotted the familiar form of his boyfriend in the living room surrounded by gifts both received and to be sent. “You know…” he mused with a yawn, his hands stuffed in the fluffy pockets. “Just once…it would be nice to sleep in with my other half.” Would it be so bad? He just sooooo wasn’t the morning person Adi was.

Happily humming to himself, Adi sorted out the presents to be sent off. The first set to be sent would be to his and Benny's parents. Their friends' would be sent shortly after. As he was doing this, he was thinking of sulking with Benny just for the heck of it. Or rather, PRETENDING to sulk because he had been pushed away and grumbled at. Hehe. It would be fun. Mhmm.

Speaking of the boyfriend... Adi heard him coming towards him. He went on fidgeting with the presents without looking around and he was trying to keep himself from grinning. But... uhhh. At THAT statement he looked up rather sheepishly. "Yeah, I know, Benny. But you know how hard it is for me to sleep late.'' It wasn't like he actually hadn't tried. With the usual amount of energy he always had stored up, he was always wanting to get up early and go for the normal morning runs.

"So... my dragon is making demands, huh?'' Well, sorta. Grinning now, Adi held out the hand free of the wrapped dragon to take Benny's so he could pull him to join him on the floor. And yeah, he had already made up his mind. He would try a whole lot more to sleep in sometimes starting tomorrow. But shhhh! He was going to surprise Benny with this.

Adi didn’t seem to be interested in his presence at first, even as he shuffled closure to where the hippogriff was settled. That was until his comment appeared to hit a chord on the repentive boyfriend. And Benny himself couldn’t deny that he wasn’t aware of the truth behind his other half’s response. “Yeah…I do know.” Adi was a bundle of energy that sometimes wore the dragon out in their adventures. It was neither one of their faults that was one of the areas where the two differed.

Unless one chalked it up to their respective daily sugar intakes.

“Nope,” he said, accepting the hand and moving to take his own seat. “Just making a suggestion for a birthday present.” Now that would be nice next August. Followed by breakfast and such in bed. Cue acting all innocent as he sat with his legs crossed indian style on the floor besides Adi. Another small yawn passing his lips before he raised his free hand to block it's escape. "Why do I suspect Conrad's gonna hate us...?" he mused as he took a more clear look at what was gathered around them.

Yep! Benny did know him and his habits well. "Willing to wait until your birthday?'' Adi teased as Benny settled next to him. "Alrightey! Only eight months to go.'' He grinned innocently, knowing to himself that Benny would definitely not have to wait that long. Awh, looky! His dragon was still sleepy. Well, Adi could make that sleepiness go away. He leaned closer. "Happy Christmas, Benny,'' he said before kissing his boyfriend gently on the lips. "And happy Anniversary.'' Cue a repeat of the kiss.

Feeling extremely happy after he wished Benny, Adi grinned. "Gus is there to calm him down.'' That's one of the reasons besties were there for, right? "Oh yeah...'' He handed over the present. "Hope you like it and we can get rid of the other one.'' He had no idea why Benny kept THAT one. Not that Adi minded. He had nothing to be insecure or be jealous about, after all.

Was he willing to wait? Nah it was more the one time Adi would hopefully remember to follow through with his idea. As for the tease he was getting in return, Benny poked him. “Well I would prefer other times.” But again, he knew the former badger so he would take what he could get including not being dragged to run with him every morning. Or the kisses he was getting in-between proper greetings for the day, causing him to smile and forget the previous topic. “Happy Christmas and Anniversary to you,” he returned, offering a nice kiss of his own in the mix.

Okay so maybe Adi was starting to be forgiven.

Moving to lean lightly on his boyfriend’s shoulder, Benny listened to him, absently nodding in agreement. “Yeah…Gus does well.” The two creatures were almost as connected to each other and him and Adi. Still, with them outside Hogwarts, Conrad was the only owl they had access to unless their parents had sent their owls and they were returning stuff. And then there was a roughly wrapped present handed to him and he looked at it confused for a moment, especially with the words accompanying it.

“Huh…” he said as he tentatively opened the wrapping, it all becoming clear once the stuffed dragon was revealed. Benny chuckled. “You really want to burn that one…don’t you?” Angel’s own gift had been the one thing he had kept from their years in a relationship.

Adi was super pleased with the return kiss. He liked Benny dragon's kisses a whole lot. Mhmmm, he did. He put an arm around Benny as he leaned against him. This was exactly what Adi needed... snuggles with his boyfriend on Christmas morning as they opened presents.

He watched happily as Benny unwrapped his gift. Adi couldn't think of anything better to give him now that Benny owned a real dragon. The older guy grinned. "Do you like it? The blue matches your eyes,'' he added unnecessarily. Those blue eyes... Adi loved them so much! And to answer that question... "Yeah! I do! Can I, please?'' Look at his face. He was SOOOOO hopeful. Hehe.

Adi added his arm around him as he leaned close and Benny couldn’t help but smile at the closeness. The security and comfort of being in his boyfriend’s arms. This was what he would look forward to in the mornings, or at least ask for, not necessarily requiring them both to be sleeping. The dragon would settle for this feeling on the holidays…and birthdays. Spending the time and the casual effort together doing whatever.

“I do…” he answered with a nod and a smile. With or without it being blue like his eyes. “It’s cute….thank you.” Cue a peck on Adi’s cheek before Benny paused as if trying to decide on the hippogriff’s behest. It was his turn to focus on the eyes. Deep chocolate brown ones that looked so hopeful and nearly pleading. “Well…I…suppose so.” Would it really bother him to give it away?

When it appeared to make his love so happy.
