A Lion and a Badger

Benadi...

Two best friends, first real close during school and now inseparable as they start the rest of their lives together.
Benjamin Atreyu and Aditya Rehman are now on their own outside the normalcy and safety of the walls of Hogwarts.
Wizarding University and the great wide world await the boyfriends as they explore what its like to really be adults in the wizarding and muggle worlds.

Locations
Benadi Apartment: Two bedroom apartment in the outskirts of Edinburgh. Their first very own home close to school.

Cassiopeia's Cafe: A friendly cafe owned by Benny's mother

Rehman House: The childhood home of Adi, home of Saieed and Indira Rehman

Wizarding University: Edinburgh Campus of the school, where Benny and Adi take classes towards their degrees.

Scene 1 : Cassiopeia's Cafe

Ben's mom's cafe was chosen as the location for the ritual meeting of the families. Aka the first full Atreyu-Rehman get-together. The one where the boys tell their loved ones the truth about their relationship and see just how they react.

There was a snort and it had Adi laughing. He knew that Benny would disagree about the idea thing particularly the ones involving Benny being turned into animals. "Aw, come on! You've gotten used to them,'' he teased right back. Really though... if the fiance ever got tired of it, he could always let it be known. "Only for that reason?'' But after a pause, Adi got his answer. "See? I knew it! You love me more than anyone else!'' A fact Adi was very proud of!

Aww, that smile was one that Adi was sure he got to see the most of all other persons in Benny's life. What a cute smile! Excuse him as he admired it! But, yes! Onto the next property! "Yep! I am! Let's go!'' One excited hippogriff here still!

Yes…yes…very funny. Sure he had gotten used to them but he was still taken by surprise every once and awhile. Which led to some challenging, or maybe more awkward, situations. Still Benny couldn’t ever bring himself to out and out call him on it. There was plenty of fun that went along with it during other times. He had to fight the urge to laugh as Adi seemed, at first at least, to think his first answer was all that there was to it. But then the rest sunk into the hippogriff. “I do indeed…” he confirmed, squeezing his hand. “And you will always know.”

With Adi’s approval to move on, Benny nodded in acceptance. His fingers grasping his fiance’s hand a little tighter as he focused on the last of their locations so they could be off. "Here we go..." The dragon felt the pull of apparition as he sent them on their way, staggering just a little when they finally landed. And it was as one gathered oneself in the new surroundings, the greatest change between the previous two places made itself know in the salty air that blew up from the water that edged one portion of the property. A section of cliffs marking a drop in the coast behind the barn that resided nearby. And to the other side, a two story house with a porch visible from where the two men were, should they turn in that direction.

Had a big head there, Adi?

Maybe. He really liked it very much knowing that he was loved the most by Benny. Then again, it was the same with him- he loved his Benny more than anyone- or anything. Even Chocolate Froggies, hippogriffs and cricket. Mhmm! Anyway, he was super excited to see the final choice of house. Just think... they were making one of the many decisions about their future here!

Adi held on to Benny's hand and off they went! Even before he opened his eyes, he could smell salty sea air. He opened his eyes, trying to see everywhere at once. "Woah! This is cool!'' The guy peered over at the water for a bit before turning in another direction- the one in which the house was. Like the first, he fell in love with this one too almost instantly. "I like this one too!'' he enthusiastically informed Benny.

Like before, Benny partly knew what to expect, having been the one to find the property and briefly visited each spot before. But even that was nothing to seeing it again. Perhaps a little bit breezier this time around, his mop of brown hair fluttering with the salt air. His blue-eyed gaze made a perusal of the area, every once and awhile glancing at Adi to try and read his reaction to their current surroundings. His choice was one thing, but the fiancé had to be part of the final decision.

“It is…” the dragon agreed to the coolness of the property. And that wasn’t just a temperature given it was January and they were on the coast of Britain. Benny continued to follow Adi’s gaze, smiling when he finally replicated the enthusiasm that he had shown in the very first house showing quite a feel for the choice. “I’m glad…I do too,” he remarked, admitting his own feelings for the place. Quite pretty when one thought about it. And it had stairs…a barn…decent land. All the things they had mentioned looking for.

So Benny liked this one too, huh? Awesome! "So my order of choices are this one then the first followed by the second.'' Did this mean that they will potentially get this place since they both seemed to really like it? "I like those cliffs.'' He pointed. Okay, well, he basically liked EVERYTHING in life so what was the point even of him saying he liked something?

"Can we explore the place? I'd like to get up close with the house and see more of the land.'' Mhmm! Adi needed to make sure it was all perfect. Not that Benny hadn't done that before he narrowed down the properties. "I'm sure we can!'' he answered his own question enthusiastically. "Let's go!'' Grinning, he secured his grip on Benny's hand before taking off.

Third…first…second. “Got it!” Benny replied, mentally jotting down the order of preference Adi had for the houses. The only one the griff had really had to clarify was whether their current location beat out the first that had gotten him all excited to the point they almost hadn’t seen any more. “They do give an interesting feature,” he agreed, “and who knows…maybe there’s a cave somewhere.” It could happen. Then it would be the absolutely most perfect property for them. Not that it didn’t seem darn near already in his eyes.

Beautiful, with all they could want, and loved by both of them.

“Of course…that’s what we’re here for,” he said with a chuckle. Exploring and sight-seeing while house-hunting. And Benny would do anything Adi wanted to do in the long run. However his fiancé was already answering his own question and the dragon couldn’t help but laugh as he was grabbed tighter and pulled with him as he ran to do just that.

"I'm coming...Birthday boy."

"As long as you're good with this one as well.'' Obviously Benny was because why else would he choose this one? But that wasn't what Adi meant. Nope, he meant he'd go with this house as long as Benny liked it more than the others too. Otherwise they'd compromise in some way. His eyes lit up. "To have a Batcave!''

How childish he could be

With the prospect of there being caves to explore, he happily led Benny towards the house. Such a nice looking one. And the grounds... LOTS of that. It was PERFECTION. "Mhmm. I like this one a lot.'' Even if he still liked the others, this one had won his Hufflepuff heart. "What do you think, babe?"

“I am,” Benny confirmed with a nod. This house had his vote. He wasn’t lying or merely going along with it just by Adi’s own feelings. It wasn’t like it had any faults really that would kick it out of his list of choices. He chuckled at the mention of a Bat Cave that got about the same response from his other half as the barn mention which this property also had.

And on closer inspection of the house, the opinions of it didn’t change it. In fact, as he took everything in, there was a warm, comforting feeling coming over him. Could this be the house? The place he and Adi lived as a married couple…and hopefully any kids they could manage to adopt? He slipped his hand from his fiance’s to instead move up close to Adi’s side.

“I think…I think this could be home.”

Awesome!

Benny liked this house too! Adi was SO pleased! He just needed to take a closer look... no, it was more of taking another admiring look at the place. To be honest, he couldn't take his eyes off it. There was something perfect about the place already. Hearing Benny's words, he turned his look in his man's direction.

"I think that too. This means we get to have all the paperwork done to make this ours!'' How exciting! "And soon after we could get the place ready for the dragons and griffs!'' His dream- both his and Benny's, actually- were slowly but surely coming through!

Benny had to tilt his head to meet Adi’s gaze as the other man turned to him, but still he saw the look in his fiancé’s eyes. It was a look he often found when his other half was extremely happy and he couldn’t help the smile that graced his features because of it. To make Adi THAT happy was a blessing he loved to fulfill.

Home…

It had a nice ring to it. Benny nodded at the mention of paperwork and getting things started for the purchase of the property and what not. All in due time it would be happening. With dragons and hippogriffs galore. But first, he had another idea. “But I think that can wait a little bit…” he mused, thinking on what lay within his satchel on his shoulder. “Maybe we should christen the place with a nice picnic lunch,” the dragon suggested, “you pick where.” There was, after all, an abundance of options to choose from.

FOOD!

So that's what Benny had been keeping in that bag of his! Now that he was calming down SLIGHTLY from all the excitement, Adi realised that he was hungry. Then again, he always had room for food. Yep, the dragon was right. Paperwork and all the other things would come later. "Hmm.'' The guy cast a look out at the awesome property once more. "Under a big, shady tree... right there!'' He pointed.

Good enough, yeah? Because Adi was all set to eat!

Who knew house hunting could make him work up such an appetite?

And so food got Adi’s attention like it tended to. The bottomless pit his other half could, storing up the energy to be his outgoing self. Especially if it was sweet and sugary. But then they had been busy and walking all morning so even Benny was a bit hungry. And it was a perfect point to stop and enjoy the moment before pushing further on. After all, besides the business of buying a house, there were other matters to attend to later on in the birthday plans.

“Then under the tree it is,” he agreed, leading them over to their picnicking destination before letting go of Adi so he could unload. First the blanket…spread out on the ground. Then the plates and sandwiches. Finally, the drinks were added to the mix before Benny moved to take a seat. His hand reaching up towards his fiancé’s, ready to pull the hippogriff onto the ground with him.

Benny lead and Adi was only too happy to follow. Now that food was mentioned, it was almost the only thing that was on his mind. When they reached the designated spot and his hand was released, he passed the time by shooting looks around the property again. There were times when he thought he and Benny may take a super long time to get one selected. Thankfully the fiance had thought of it.

Cue the loving look at Benny!

And yeah, he was going to ask if the dragon needed a hand but he seemed to have it covered. Oh, look! Sandwiches! But were they chicken ones? Mmm. Adi would find out soon enough. Grinning, he took Benny’s hand again. “You really did think of everything, babe.’’

Benny caught the loving look sent his way out of the corner of his eye and blushed before he was able to catch himself. What? He couldn’t pinpoint one particular reason for the emotion behind it. But love was love, he supposed, and he smiled lovingly at Adi in return before finishing up the last of the set-up of their little afternoon private party. The man gracious the agents had allowed them to explore the properties on their own rather than under watchful eye.

With his fiancé in his grasp, the dragon tugged the hippogriff down onto the blanket beside him, nodding absently in agreement at his words. “Well I had to do my best to make it as perfect as possible, didn't I?” Benny mused as he handed a container with chicken sandwiches over to Adi. His other half deserved the happiest of birthdays...among other things.

A blushing Benny was always something to look at. Adi sniggered but left him to finish the set up. Then he sat, feet crossed on the covered ground, and close to his fiance. "And I appreciate that a ton!'' He leaned forward to kiss him on the cheek. Then his attention was back to the container.

Chicken sandwiches!

One of his favourite foods ever!

The guy eagerly opened the container up. "Mmm. I'm going to enjoy this.'' Without hesitation, he bit into a sandwich. Mhmm! Yummy! Oh yeah... he had to share too LOL "Here you go. Can't starve my dragon.''

This was one of the best birthdays ever!

New Year’s Eve 2092

Friends and family of Aditya and Benjamin Atreyu-Rehman have good reason to celebrate even before the turning of the clock marking the new year as the long-time couple and best friends tie the knot. The perfect ending to a week-long celebration of family traditions new and old, those invited are gathered into a beautifully decorated room far from the wintery Scottish weather outside. Shades of blue and orange surround in display of the favorite colors of the newlyweds from the bridal party’s outfits…to the décor…right down to the candy in the sweets table. There is food aplenty catered by best man, Henric Nicolei, and a wide array of music to dance or even just enjoy the evening to. Just remember to have fun and congratulate the happy couple.

Henric couldn't contain his excitement when he was asked to be their best man and caterer to their grand wedding ceremony. It was a huge role to fill but he managed to pull it off until the end. Of course, he couldn't do all this without his brilliant girlfriend, friends and family member's help in making sure Ben and Adi had the best time of their lives!

As soon as Ben and Adi stepped into the reception hall, everyone starts to clap and cheer for them. Henric raised his champagne glass in a toast to the newlyweds."May you two lived happily ever after! Mr. and Mr. Atreyu-Rehman, everyone!" he announced at the top of his voice.

This was not the time to be sad, she talked to herself. It was a special day of Adi and Benny and she should've be happy for both of them, especially that the groom had asked her to be their groomsmaid. Ava could not back down, it's too late and it would be unprofessional if she ditched it just because of her personal feelings. So she's here now witnessing two men uniting their love in a holy matrimony.

Look how happy they both were. The Gryffindor was so lucky to be a part of this huge day. A huge smile plastered on her face as the happy grooms stepped into the reception hall. It was a big lie if Ava said that she's currently not thinking if this could happen to her and Phillip too one day. Ah, damn. For the sake of her own sanity, she probably should stop thinking about him for a moment and enjoy the day. As Henric proposed the toast, Ava raised her glass for both of them. Mr. and Mr. Atreyu-Rehman, how cute!

It was so good to be back in England, Ilia didn't dream she would ever think such a thing. However, she was a little older and wiser...and had deeply missed her Adipuff and Bennydoodle. The only boys who got her attention besides her boy, the creatures crew was back. Celebrating what was hopefully the happiest day in her boys' lives was deeply important to her, and as such her pouty lips played a big smile as the love of her life toasted. She was waiting her turn and paying rapt attention but, she had an old Norse blessing to bestow upon the happy couple in time.

Helping Henric with the catering reminded her of her summers in his family's restaurant. It was so nostalgic being here, she saw so many faces she recognized from Hogwarts, including a former band-mate. It was almost like being a different person now, she even looked different with all of the ink she had acquired over the past few years... Yet still, when she looked at Adi and Benny she thought of things like how the four of them got into trouble at the treehouse. Thinking of Hogwarts there was that time her boys had come to save her after the eight-legged homicidal freaks carted her off....

yup...

....

......

.......more and more glad they weren't at Hogwarts anymore every time she remembered that semester. Ah, so much travel therapy after that place and its life scars. She still didn't accept foodstuffs from people that were not her life partner.

To say Benny was dumbfounded would be an understatement. The former Gryffindor turned magizoologist was in reality a whole slew of emotions from mildly overwhelmed to happy to shy and finally to the greatest of these…loved. And was it any wonder given all that had transpired today? All that had transpired in the past week? He and Adi were married…united as one…and it was wonderful. Even if he was more than a bit self-conscious about being the center of attention. It wasn’t him. But it wasn’t as if he could avoid it being the groom.

Well one of them anyway.

He walked with Adi into the Reception, fighting the urge to color as Henric raised a toast and people clapped for them. Instead he glance at his fiancé…correction…husband and smiled lovingly at his other half, drawing support from him as their guests had their moment. Benny was going to have to get used to that word. Thank Merlin he had a lifetime to do so.

What a busy day it had been! Busy but certainly one of the happiest and possibly the most memorable in Adi's books. Was he tired? Nope! The guy had loads of energy as always and was ready to partaaay! And eat loads of cake hehe. Anyway... there was Henny announcing them now.

Mr and Mr Atreyu- Rehman! Gosh, he loved the sound of that!

Adi grinned at everyone and at the love of his life. He could many of the familiar faces of family and friends as they toasted. At least his mother was looking super happy; thankfully she had come around loooong before the wedding. "Thanks, guys!'' he said, feeling the love so much.

Lux couldn't stop smiling at the fact that her best friend was officially MARRIED. This was it. It had happened. Adi was now an Atreyu-Rehman! So was his husband. Of course she was very happy for Benny too, as he was also her friend. They were both very lucky and knew it; not everyone ended up married to the love of their life.

Beaming, the Best Woman joined in on the toast. Here is for many years of wedded bliss! I am so happy for you both!"

This was going to be an amazing night. The perfect end to one of the best days ever.

There was nothing like celebrating a the love of two people coming together. Unless of course those two people were nearly family to you, Adi being her big and Benny a big brother now as well. She had always known they would remain together and this day would come but getting to be a part of it, getting to be a groomsmaid for them was really special.

She had helped out anyway she could her dress and shoes and matching those of the other groomsmaid, Ava. Getting to see those she hadn't seen in a long long time was wonderful. Hady watched as the two men entered the reception, her green eyes never leaving their smiling faces. She was so proud of them and failed to come up with anything to say right now.

When they got closer to her she would be giving out hugs.

Wedding.

Sigh. Sigh. Sigh.

She HATED wedding. She's here just to congratulate her former housemate. That's all.

The former Gryffindor was nursing her drink number two or was it number three when Nicolei proposed a toast. She almost snort when he said the 'happily ever after part' but she managed to hide her snort with a cough. Hopefully no one noticed that.

She should had stayed home. With that thought Candice finished her champagne in one gulp.

Weddings were always special and this one that united two young men that he had taught during his days at Hogwarts, was something very extra. Tugging on his blue suit tie to loosen it, Leo turned his head lovingly to his wife; Cassie that stood beside him. "It was a beautiful ceremony. I hope Adi and Benny will be together for the rest of their lives, just like us." Each day he spent with Cassie made him love her even more.

Leo had been invited to attend so he hadn't really given much thought to making a toast and saying a few words, but now he felt he should since toasts were made by the best man and best woman. He raised his own glass of champagne to join in both of the toasts before he leaned toward Cassie and asked quietly. "Do you think we shall say a few words too to the happy couple?"
