Benadi...

Two best friends, first real close during school and now inseparable as they start the rest of their lives together.
Benjamin Atreyu and Aditya Rehman are now on their own outside the normalcy and safety of the walls of Hogwarts.
Wizarding University and the great wide world await the boyfriends as they explore what its like to really be adults in the wizarding and muggle worlds.

Locations
Benadi Apartment: Two bedroom apartment in the outskirts of Edinburgh. Their first very own home close to school.

Cassiopeia's Cafe: A friendly cafe owned by Benny's mother

Rehman House: The childhood home of Adi, home of Saieed and Indira Rehman

Wizarding University: Edinburgh Campus of the school, where Benny and Adi take classes towards their degrees.

Scene 1 : Cassiopeia's Cafe

Ben's mom's cafe was chosen as the location for the ritual meeting of the families. Aka the first full Atreyu-Rehman get-together. The one where the boys tell their loved ones the truth about their relationship and see just how they react.

Adi took a biiiig drink of butterbeer, his eyes fixed on Benny. He then looked to Azura. "Such a great question to ask, Az! You bet you were a surprise but I know for sure the good kind.'' He grinned, meaning one hundred percent of what he said about her being a god surprise. "And I thought I heard something about baking? You can do that?'' Adi was super curious and would be just as impressed if she could.

Awh, look at them getting to know each other! The guy just loved it! Of course if Az asked him anything about Benny, he would be able to answer too. He took another sip of butterbeer, mulling over something. Adi was wondering if she had heard from any of her so called family but he didn't want to bring the topic up. Part of him didn't even really want to hear about them, some family they were

"Az must like purple,'' he randomly interjected.

Azura titled her head a little as she looked up at Benny as he teased her a bit and she smiled.. "And what profession would that be?" She asked him curiously as he spoke about Adi having both things covered..

"All right, but I'll warn you.. when I'm trying to think through things.. I bake." She said with a warm smile, as well as play the piano.. but just a warning so they wouldn't be surprised when they came home to a kitchen overflowing with baked good, yeah?

She gave Adi a smile as she took a sip of her butterbeer.. Ahhh.. that stuff was so good. She smiled as she set the bottle down and then looked up at Benny as he started the "getting to know them process."

She was about to respond to Benny when Adi spoke up and she smiled.. "Believe it or not.. Blue is my favorite color.." She said as she nodded towards Benny.. "Followed closely by green.. and purple." She said as she nodded toward Adi.. "What is your favorite color?" She asked Adi as she took another sip of her butterbeer.

“Dragonologist,” Benny remarked. “Dragons are my favorite magical creature.” That was another ‘getting to know ya’ point, wasn’t it?

Awaiting a response from Azura, Benny’s gaze met Adi’s as he drank from his butterbeer, the dragon noticing the former badger was looking at him. He simply raised a slight eyebrow as surprises were discussed, especially the good ones. Yeah, it wasn’t like he had reacted negatively to the idea of adopting her. And then there was the talk of baking which of course had caught his boyfriend’s attention. Benny didn’t know anyone with a bigger sweet tooth then he. Thankfully he also exercised a ton to compliment it.

But they were back to the topic of favorite colors. He found himself smiling as Azure agreed with him on the color blue. Not purple like Adi had interjected, at least not as the first choice. “Very nice,” Benny commented with a nod as he made a mental note of the three colors. There was a method to his madne—idea to ask about colors, besides it was a simple icebreaker. As for the question posed in turn to Adi, he was almost tempted to answer for his other half, but opted to enjoy his drink instead.

The hippogriff was a big boy.

She liked baking! How cool! Super cool, in fact! "Awesome! I happen to like cookies. They're my favourite baked treats.'' With loads of chocolate chips in them. Mmmm! Azura was more talented than he had guessed and he wondered if she had any more of those that she had not yet made known. "Any other talents you're hiding, Az?''

"Blue is perfect fro a Ravenclaw!'' He grinned and brightly added, "Orange!'' Yessers, that was his favourite colour! Oh yeah! And he was just BURSTING to let Azura know... "Adoption stuff coming nicely along, by the way! Hopefully, you'll be all set to go to our apartment when this school year is over.'' He grinned. Wasn't that just exciting?

So yeaaaah. That out of the way, Adi looked to Benny, grin still in place. He could go on with the questions!

Azura's purple eyes widened as she heard Benny's words.. "A dragonologist..." The words were breathed out in awe.. "That is so cool." Did this mean, she would get to see a Dragon? Because she wasn't going to lie.. That would be awesome!

Her opinion of Benny just went up about 200 percent right then.. "Oh! My favorite magical creature is A Fwooper, followed closely by an Unicorn and nifflers." She explained with a warm smile before she turned to Adi..

"Cookies I can do.. any kind you want..." The girl paused for a moment.. "But double chocolate chip cookies are my favorite." Just sayin'

She smiled as he asked what other hidden talents she had..

"Well, I've been playing the piano since I was two, and I compose music as well for the piano.. So that's a big part of my life.. Also I'm learning to play the guitar.. " She paused for a moment.. "I think that's it? I'm good at potions and charms.." She said with a smile..

"Ahhh, orange is a good color, it's almost impossible to feel sad while looking at the color." She said with a nod as Adi started to talk about adoptions stuff..

"Ohh, I'm glad to hear it's going well.. I had a question though.. about last names?" She had an idea, but she wanted to see what they thought of first.

Benny saw her eyes widen and waited to see just what the reaction meant as she repeated his title. Thankfully it was more awe than a negative connotation which was a relief. He nodded in agreement at its coolness. Even with the hard work needed to get there, it was all worth it knowing what lay ahead for him. “Cool…,” the creature lover remarked at her choice of creatures. “Very unique.” Fwooper and nifflers weren’t too common of favorite creatures.

Especially the nifflers.

Yep, Adi’s sweet tooth had definitely been attracted to the idea of Azura’s baking prowess. Benny chuckled bemused at the exchange though he was also interested in any other talents that might be brought up at the boyfriend’s question. The better to know the girl that would be joining their family. As for the answer… “Something you two have in common,” he mused looking between them. He and Azure might share a favorite color but Adi was the musical one. Well now Adi and Azura were.

Last names…

Benny had a vague idea where this was going and he looked to Adi. It wasn’t like they had worked out their own last names after marriage yet, let alone what happened when said adoption process was finally finished. “What kind of question?” he asked anyway, turning back to Azura.

Adi threw back and continued to listen to Benny and Azura talk. Well, as usual Benny was quiet and speaking only when necessary but Az talked a lot like himself

Not that he minded because he was learning a lot about her already. He tucked the fwooper information at the back of his mind for future reference.

But gosh! Azura was so much like him! "Can you really?'' Adi asked, already in awe of the girl. "I can play piano, drums and guitar. And I'm best at CoMC like Benny and also at Potions.'' Mhmm! "And any kind of chocolate chip cookies for me!'' He winked. Anything with sugar, to be honest. He grinned at Benny. So far Azura was fitting in well with them, yeah?

Then his eyes met his boyfriend's again. Adi was super curious about what Az had in mind. "Go on,'' he encouraged her.

Azura's purple eyes flitted between the two men and her gaze finally landed on Adi. She smiled widely as he said that he was musical as well! "Really?" She asked him, "That's so amazing, can you teach me how to play the guitar more?" She asked him with a smile, before nodding a bit as he spoke about his and Benny's favorite classes.

"I like COMC as well, but.. Professor Draper is a bit.. umm.. " She paused for a moment, wondering how to say this tactfully.. "Blunt." Yeah that worked well..

She smiled at Benny as he asked her what sort of question and the teen bit her lip a little..

"Well, I wasn't sure if you wanted me to take.. uhh.. one or.. both of your last names?" She asked curiously.. "But, I don't want to keep Kennedy, because.. well My birth Father left when I was one.. I was wondering.. if I could have Snow as my last name? That's my mom's maiden name.. I.. want a part of her with me.. " She said softly, hoping they understood..

Music, potions and food.

All relatively good things, and all things Benny’s companions had in common. Even he liked food. He just suddenly had this feeling he was going to have to be extra careful. The Ravenclaw could be like Lux and provide the Hufflepuff a partner in pranking crime to which he was the unfortunate recipient. Eyes on you two…yeah...he was going to watching them for sure.

Draper...

Must by a new professor. The last one he and Adi had wasn't even human. "Blunter than a centaur?"

The eyes of the two men met before Adi added his own encouragement for Azura to continue with her question she had for them. No doubt whatever was brought up would be something to think about. Benny listened as the girl spoke of absent birth fathers and mother’s maiden names, not to mention the blanket mention to both Rehman and Atreyu. Her last sentence made it heart-wrenching all things considered. The lost and deceased mom was a tragic story after all.

“I think…” Cue another look at Adi as he trailed off. His boyfriend and future husband was perfectly welcome to speak his own mind, but he had some thought on an answer himself. “I think that might be able to be discussed.”

Adi had an eager beaver student! "You bet! Have you got one of your own? I'll teach you to play a full song and all.'' And then after that they could move on to the drums or piano... whichever Azura wanted. Ah, this COMC professor. Adi couldn't help but laugh a little at Benny's statement. Yeah, they had had a centaur during their last year. No offense to him but Thompson was loads better. "Hady told me all about him. But as long as you learn a lot during his lessons...'' To be a CoMC professor... or even a potions one. What fun!

In all honesty, Adi didn't mind one bit that Azura wanted to keep her mother's last name. He nodded when Benny replied. "I think it is doable. I didn't expect you to take our names, anyway, since I thought that you might have wanted to keep Kennedy. Azura Snow sounds great though!'' He grinned. Whatever he could do to make Az happy, he- they, him and Benny- would.

Azura's eyes went wide as she heard both mean say that they had a Centaur for a teacher! "Whoa, a Centaur, that would have been so cool! But I guess Professor Draper is nicer than a Centaur.. " He was sorta nice? Just.. kinda.. blunt? "I do learn a lot in his class, we had to take care of Crup puppies and it was the best class in the entire world." She said with a happy smile..

She shook her head at Adi as he spoke. "No, I don't have one of my own. I've been borrowing the school's." She said with a smile as she looked up at one of her Future guardians before turning to Benny as he started to address her question..

She smiled gratefully at him, discussion was all she was hoping for, before she turned back to Adi and smiled warmly at him..

"I'd rather have that memory of my mother, than of a man who left when I was one." She said in a soft voice as she looked down for a moment and took a deep breath. Everyone left her..

She looked up at him though with another smile.. "Mmmm, it does have a nice ring to it right? Azura Luna Snow?"

Cool?

In some ways it was. But in others it was trouble since centaurs had the habit of looking down at humans, both literally and figuratively, the way the ruder humans looked down on centaurs as lesser. Being able to run around with an extra set of legs had been fun of course. “I suppose every professor has his or her high and low points.” Case in point…a certain transfiguration professor that Adi admired and he feared and even hated a bit. To each their own.

Listening to the talk of music as he finished up his butterbeer, he wondered if perhaps they would have an apartment with two jamming musicians instead with him, and the assorted animals in the vicinity as an audience. As long as he wasn’t made to sing accompaniment, Benny was fine by that. Not that he would even mention that condition aloud lest he give anyone, especially Adi, ideas.

Benny nodded again. “I…well we… could certainly understand that.” Why be weighted down with the bad, especially the unchangeable, when one can focus on the good one had in his or her life? And the name did sound nice. “Sky-Blue Moon Snow. Quite pretty imagery,” he remarked, absently translating the meanings of the three given names.

In all honesty, Adi hadn't enjoyed classes with the centaur that much. He didn't like the fact that the creature (and all others of its kind, by definition) was super proud. Not that he hadn't learnt anything from him. It was just that he like Thompson a whole lot more. "That sounds like a ton of fun,'' the guy told Azura. "Cruppies are awesome creatures!'' Well, all creatures were awesome. Haha. "And Benny's right about that.''

Aha. So Azura didn't have her own instrument. That bit of information was also tucked away in his brain. He'll have to do something about her not having one. "Hey, Az. Wanna hear a secret? Benny's a good singer.'' Cue him breaking up into sniggers. Cantis was a really useful spell and one of his favourites to use on his boyfriend.

"I think we both get that, Azura. I'll try to have that done for you, okay?'' The poor girl deserved everything to keep her happy. "Uh, what?'' He said blankly as he eyed Benny. He was momentarily confused. Had the Butterbeer momentarily meddled with Benny's brain?

Azura smiled a bit as they started to talk a bit about Profesors.. "They do, the DADA teacher, Professor Hirsch, we didn't get off on the right foot, seeing as we think a bit differently, but.. He's an amazing professor and I made him proud of me several times.. So even though we think differently.. It's nice to see someone else's point of view." Az said with a warm smile as she looked over at Adi..

"They were SO cute.. really they were.. I almost wanted one.." But she didn't think a cruppie was for her.. She wanted a cat.. or a spider..

Her purple eyes once again moved to Adi as he spoke and she smiled as she turned to look at Benny.. "You can sing? Really? That's awesome.. I try, but I'm not that good.." She said with a nod..

"Thank you both so much." She said with a warm smile as she looked up at Benny as he spoke.. "Right? Blue Moon on the Snow? It's super pretty imagery.." She had to give her mom that one..

He couldn’t help raise an eyebrow as Adi mentioned a secret, eyes widening at the mention of him singing. “I cannot…!!” the former Gryffindor denied quickly looking between the other two before half-scowling at his other half especially at the snickering coming from him. Okay so he had been told he had a nice singing voice, but he wasn’t one to exactly share it without command of spell upon him. And he had to fight the urge to color in embarrassment even now at the thought of such a scene.

Taking a deep breath to calm, and absently shaking his head as he wished he had more drink to hide behind, Benny instead tried to focus on other talk for distraction. Yes, the two of them certainly stood together in understanding of Azura’s request.

At the blank look and questioning words from Adi, it was clear he had confused the boyfriend with his talk on name meanings. “I was translating the pieces of Azura’s name…I think,” Benny explained tentatively, nodding as she in fact confirmed it from her own knowledge of her name.

Yep, Hady had told him of this Hirsch too. Adi felt as though he were actually still at Hogwarts because she kept him so well updated on the happenings at the school. He nodded at Azura though. "Thinking differently isn't a bad thing,'' he assured her. "And no doubt you'll make everyone proud of you.'' Then your family would regret not wanting you, the guy added silently.

"Please, Benny. You're good at it,'' Adi said with a snigger. Hey, Adi did sing for him on occasions but his boyfriend was sometimes reluctant to return the favour so a little help was needed... which was actually more fun than a voluntary Benny.

He also tucked away the information that Azura possibly would want a crup at some point. They were learning so much about her and with each bit, he found himself liking her more and more. Adi was sure Benny felt the same and would have it confirmed when they got home.

"Oh!'' Az had picked up on what Benny meant a lot faster than he himself had. "Yep, it does sound great together.'' She had a pretty name with pretty meanings. Annnd they probably shouldn't be keeping her for long. She probably had other persons she wanted to hang out with too. "We'll let you know when everything becomes official and you can bet we'll be at King's Cross to get you at the end of the term, alright?'' Adi couldn't help but grin. He was super duper confident they'd be able to give Azura a home.

Azura let out a soft giggle as Benny spoke and she smiled up at him.. He couldn't sing hmm? And yet, Adi was giggling so much, she knew there would have to be a story to this.. She hoped to find out later! For right now, she looked at Benny with a warm grin on her face.

"You know, I don't think I can sing either, but people tell me my voice isn't bad.. so maybe we could sing together?" She offered him as she took a sip of her butterbeer. "Though.. I uhh.. only know One Direction songs really well.' Her face flamed a little bit as she spoke about it.. Wes had always teased her about her posters under her bed..

Azura smiled as he spoke.. "Yeah, I though it did.. I really like the moon, it's so pretty and fun to look at." She added as Adi spoke and she nodded.. "That sounds great, I'll write you letters and tell you how I'm doing in classes as well." She said with a warm smile as she bit her lip a little..

"I'll meet you there then. I'm looking forward to this summer." A new summer with new people.. She couldn't wait!

More sniggering and pressing words about him singing. The tips of his ears, half-hidden by his hair had to be red at the teasing. Though Azura for her part was attempting to make it better with her own words of similar situations. “Perhaps…” was all Benny said, mostly out of politeness at the moment. He wasn’t sure he could do it on his own even with her company singing with him. And he certainly didn’t know much of the song’s she spoke of.

But that was for another time anyway.

With their drinks done and catching the tone of Adi’s words, Ben figured it was indeed time to part from each other’s company. No doubt wasting the entirety of a Hogsmeade weekend with two grown men was something to spare the girl from. There would be enough time in mentioned letters and summer break for them to continue with their interactions. “It really was nice meeting you,” he offered with a smile as they moved to get up.

New Scene – Benadi Apartment

After leaving Kings Cross Station, the couple had apparated the three of them to a safe point near their apartment. Granted with Hogwarts where it was, it might have seemed silly to have Azura even ride the Express away from Scotland, but Benny knew enough of the good memories shared on train rides to figure it was worth it. Reaching the building, the former Gryffindor opened the front door for the other two to enter in before him.

“This would be our building,” he said, letting Adi take the lead in opening the actual apartment. The plans set in motion that led them to this day had been instigated by his love so certain…honors should be given.

The day had finally arrived!

Him and Benny had gone to get Azura and now he was happily leading the way into their apartment. "Benny's got your room all set up, Az,'' he was saying as he held the door for his boyfriend and Azura. "Your trunk is already there.'' They had sent it ahead before apparating.

Oh yeeeah! And they had a surprise for her. Adi had gotten her a stuffed fwooper which was sitting patiently on her bed waiting for her. "Want to show her the room, Benny?'' Adi grinned over at the other guy.

It was a slightly bittersweet moment for Azura, she was happy that she was getting a family, but also sad about losing her old one, however as the train had gotten closer and closer to the station, her excitement seemed to grow and overwhelm her slight sadness and when She saw Benny and Adi she had ran to both of them with big hugs!

She had apparated with them, (which was a slightly new experience and one she wasn't sure of!) and found herself staring up at the building at her new home.

She smiled widely up at Adi as he spoke and then looked up at Benny, "You do? I can't wait to see it! " The teen said with a happy bounce in her step. And she looked up expectantly at Benny.

As Azura paused outside the building, Benny almost wish he knew what was going through her mind. He knew he himself was a mix of nervousness and modest excitement while Adi was at his limits of happiness. The dragon was about to ask if she was okay when the girl finally moved to follow and Adi was opening up their place. “Uh huh…I do. I did,” he confirmed Adi’s words in response to Azura’s questioning curiousity.

Not that they couldn’t make any changes, within reason, that she might desire.

But he had wanted to make a good impression in how he had handled what she had told him about her likes. “Sure thing,” Benny agreed, taking the lead as they moved further into the apartment. Through the hallway/living room, past the bathroom and finally to the room that had once been the spare bedroom of their place. Hopefully the trunk hadn’t reappeared somewhere awkward. Turning the knob, he pushed into the room at the click before stepping aside so Azura could come in and see it all.

“I do hope you like it.”

"He sure does!'' Adi happily told Azura. "Of course, you're welcome to tell us what changes you'd want, if any.'' He and Benny had already talked that over. He stood back, watching Azura. He had a feeling she was sad about leaving her previous family. She'd forget about them for the moment, when she saw her bedroom.

Adi let Benny lead her to the room. Still standing back, he waited in anticipation for her reaction. From where he stood, he could see the fwooper on the bed and all the blue of the walls. He figured that soon those walls would be covered with posters of all the things the girl liked.

Azura followed the boys down the hall, mentally mapping out her new home in her head.. She wouldn't want to walk accidentally into the bathroom when she was heading for her new room. She bit her lip as the door opened and Benny and Adi stepped aside for her to see her new room..

She gasped softly as the saw the color of the walls, it was perfect! And the bed! and all the furniture! Not to mention..

A STUFFED FWOOPER!!!!

Azura raced over to the bed and instantly hugged it, burying her face in the plush animal to hide her gathering tears before lowering the toy and turning to the two men waiting by the door.

"I love it.. It's perfect." Her voice was a little thick with tears, but so far none of them had spilled down her face. "Thank you both.. so so much.." She whispered as she looked up at them.. This was about so much more than the room now.. It was a genuine thank you for taking her in and giving her a family when her own had rejected her. She swallowed before running towards them and hugging Adi tightly before moving to hug Benny.

Her emotions finally got the best of her as her tears of happiness and sadness started to roll down her face as she hugged Benny.

"The room is perfect.." She said again.

Benny watched their new charge with curiosity and a touch of nervousness. He wanted everything to be as perfect as they could manage to help Azura adjust to what had to be a questioning time. Living in a new place…dealing with emotions surrounding her need to actually need new guardians…just being a teenager he supposed as well. The dragon heard the gasp and saw the eyes flicking around before landing on the stuffed animal Adi had insisted on, his own eyes flickering to his other half to exchange a look as the girl ran over and grabbed it from its perch.

Score for the hippogriff and fwooper!

He almost unconsciously conjured a handkerchief when Azura turned to them with tears in her eyes, smiling back as the rest of her face as well as her words showed they were mostly happy tears. “You’re quite welcome, Azura,” Benny assured her at her thanks to them. Again she was rushing, taking Adi into a hug before sharing the love with him. He couldn’t help feeling just a tad emotional himself as he returned with his own arms around her.

“Glad you think so,” the dragon smiling and offering the procured handkerchief to her once they had separated.

Bounce, bounce, bounce!

Adi was excitedly bouncing on the heels of his feet and occasionally settling his glasses on the bridge of his nose. He shot a glance at Benny and could easily see that is boyfriend was nervous. Stepping closer to him, he slid an arm around his waist and said quietly, ''Don't worry. I bet she's going to love it.''

Hehe. And he was right, wasn't he? Azura seemed to like the fwooper especially. Just look at her hugging it! When she turned to them, Adi could see all the emotion and gratitude written all over her face. Then she was hugging him. He removed his hand from around Benny to hug her back.

"You're welcome! You deserve it, okay?'' Adi happily watched her hug Benny who had the whole handkerchief thing covered since Az's emotions had finally overcame her. That was really understanding. The poor girl had such a terrible last few months. All that would change now.

About the room, Benny deserved all the credit though Adi had helped a bit. "So, Az! What's your fave meal? I can whip it up in no time if you want to unpack in the meantime.''
