61. Kiss

She slept early one night only to find out she was again having one of her old dreams. She was seeing that guy again, but couldn’t really recognize its face for it was blurry. And for the nth time, she would wake up in the middle of the night just before the mystery guy could kiss her.

The next night, she dreamed again of him. She was so used to the scene now, yet instead of fading into darkness, the guy managed to kiss her. She woke up.
Smile crept on her face as she cuddled her pillow. It’s him.

29. Pensieve


The Pensieve of life showed Vivianne that Hogwarts have had lots in the past. Of course, even more than a decade of magic. The very walls and foundation of this institution had been a witness to thousand blissful and heartbreaking memories of different sorts of students. And every day as she struts along the castle corridors to wander she adds up another pile to those souvenirs the school will keep for again another hundred years of slumber. Hogwarts had been a living journal for every soul breathing in it. If only it could talk, probably words are not even enough.

51.Act

Laughter. That is all you can hear at the Gryffindor girl’s Dormitory. The sweet giggle of four ladies echoed throughout the stairs down to the common room.

“Usa, please hand me some of the chocolate frogs,” Astrid said as she outstretched her hand.

Vivianne started poking them with the licorice wand secretly and hurriedly pretended to be doing something else to cover her act and whistled.

“Viaaaa,” Allie squealed and the other two laughed.

“A licorice wand fight you want, then we’ll give you one,” the three said to Vivianne as she ducked for some cover.

“Merlin no!” Via squealed.

Ensnared

15. Room


Out of curiosity she entered that hidden room of Hogwarts. And when she was about to turn back, the door sealed itself.

“Whaaat!?” Via pulled the door with all her might but it's hopeless.

“Oh,” she sighed as she tried not to panic. “What on Earth am I doing here in the first place?”

Arrrrgh, sometimes she just couldn’t help but be nosy about almost everything and look where it led her. She’s trapped inside a room she just passed by.

“Okay, Nat,” she said rolling her eyes. “Now, free me from being locked here. You can certainly do that.”

The Fire is Almost Out

74. X-tinguish

One night while Vivianne was staring at herself in the mirror she asked, “do you still love him, Via?”

The year older girl in the mirror shook her head.

Vivianne smiled. That’s the best answer she could give herself though if she’s gonna repeat the question again this time she would definitely answer yes.
She tore her gaze at her reflection and sighed. How is she gonna X-tinguish the remaining feelings she has so she can be finally free?

She went to bed and pulled her covers hoping by the time she wakes up, the fire has gone out forever.

One summer day in Diagon Alley, Via and her sister decided to hang out together in Florean’s ice cream parlor. While they were both enjoying their three scoops banana split ice cream, Via couldn’t help but wander on how her real parents live.

“Natalia, do our real parents have a house elf?” she asked as she tried to scoop another spoonful of her ice cream.

“Yes they do…” Natalia replied and continued, “Before they moved to Chicago.”

“Oh!” she said disappointed that they no longer have one. “It could have been awesome to own one.”

Natalia smiled at her.

85. Snappish

“Via what’s taking you so long?” Daisy peaked at the room again as she grew tired waiting by the common room.

“Help me here, Daisy,” she freaked out. “I don’t know what to wear.”

Daisy found her best friend sitting on her bed staring on her collection of ballet flats.

“ Woah!” Daisy got surprised at the number, “Why bring all of them to Hogwarts? Are you going to sell them here?” she laughed.

“Oh stop it,” Via snappishly said.

“Just pick one of them, they all look the same to me.”

“They don’t look the same. Each pair’s different.”

She’s on her way to their last class that day when she realised she again forgot the name of the current headmaster.

“It’s not my fault I can’t remember his name,” she rolled her eyes. “In m y mind it’s still Belle,” she shrugged it off however it still bothered her. She saw a Ravenclaw boy heading her way and stopped to ask.

“Excuse me!” she started, “This is really embarrassing to ask but I can’t seem to recall…” She looked around then back at him, “the name of the new headmaster.”

“Not to worry, I can’t remember his name either.”

Nothing could ruin Vivianne’s perfect day until this young boy confessed his love to her. It was odd to be hearing those words from him. She never even expected it to happen. She was on her third year while he was a firstie. She didn’t want to be the girl who broke someone else’s heart. Oh that moment of confrontation was a torture. It broke her heart to say the words because to her, he was a little brother. The two being together will never EVER work out. It broke her heart, too, but it will always be brotherly love.

“Dad I have something to show you,” Vivianne giggled as she excitedly pulled her muggle father by his hand. She was back in Halesworth for the summer and she could not wait to show her father her copy of The Daily Prophet.

“What is it Via?” he said as he followed her into the porch.

There lay a newspaper and a cup of his favourite coffee.

“Awww, you sweet little miss,” he said as he took a seat.

“Well, why don’t you enjoy your morning reading father?”

“The pictures are moving!!!” Mr. Nat fell off his seat.

Vivianne burst laughing.

One day Via was walking down Honeydukes and a Ravenclaw came up to her. She had no idea who she was nor the reason why she’s after her. The girl said she’s a tutor and Via thought, now what? As far as she knows she doesn’t need one because she’s doing great in class – except Arithmancy perhaps. Still she wondered who sent the girl for the thought disturbed her. Her father would think she’s flunking school. Oh no! She couldn’t imagine how frustrating it would be if he found out that her precious Via was taking her future for granted.

Daring to be bold for Gold

86. Daring

Vivianne patiently waited for the old, fragile looking hat to announce where she’s going to spend the next seven years of her life away from home. Waiting wasn’t her thing and moments that made her heart pound were torture.

“Gryffindor!”

Was that blue? She thought. Oh, no it’s the red one with the gold thingy, Via.

She must have been really daring enough to deserve a slot there, eh? As the Gryffindor table applauded and cheered, she made her way to them. She squeezed a seat and said, “We better bag that gold by the end of the year then.”

The horror struck Vivianne tightened her grip on Daisies hand.

“This is unbearable, Daisy,” she said as she shook her head, “This is a complete disgrace to my reputation.”

Daisy was confused, “What? What are you talking about?”

“Look!” Vivianne motioned over the candy shop.

Daisy couldn't help but laugh.

“It seems like you belong there my friend. Do you want to go inside?” And she kept on chuckling. “This is too much to bear. Did you tell them what you’re gonna be wearing today?”

People gawked at the store curtains and her plaid skirt.

Vivianne couldn't feel more embarrassed.

“Sshhh!”

“What’s that sound?” Vivianne asked bewildered and still the sound continued. No one answered back.

“Ssshh!” there she heard it once more and this time she saw where the sound came from.

“Daisy!” she uttered. “Now you’re speaking Parseltongue?”

Daisy tried not to laugh, “Silly! I was trying to hush you because if you don’t, we’ll get caught sneaking out of bed.”

Vivianne winked. “Oh! I’m sorry,” she whispered as she giggled.

Again Daisy hushed her, “Ssshhh! Via!”

The two girls silently chuckled their way back to the common room with their hands full of delicious sweets from the kitchen.

After that encounter with the long lost sister she never knew until the Flourish and Blotts moment that afternoon, Vivianne was left to wonder how things seemed to be unfolding themselves in a very confusing and really shocking manner.

“What else is next?” she asked herself.

She just found out her father and mother went to Hogwarts as well which meant she is not a muggle after all. Oh, this is a lot to take in.

“I could have been great if I was in Slytherin then, don’t you think?”

The craziness runs in the blood? What a shocking revelation.

If she’s not feasting on some food in the great hall, playing with Slumber the cat, snooping ‘round old books in the school library, working on her homework, involving herself in a commotion or hanging out with her best friend, Daisy… then Vivianne’s definitely reminiscing those few unforgettable moments in her life staring at the gorgeous view up the towers or by the lake or more probably just wandering down the grounds. She treasures a memory so much that’s why she relieves them as often as she could for she’s afraid one day she will no longer be able to.

She propped open the velvet red diary and began to scribble again after ages.

You know my life as a muggle wasn’t that bad at all. I could not actually ask for more because Mum and Dad gave me everything and I am very pleased with that. My life is indeed very mysterious though. Maybe that’s the reason why I’ve been feeling this hole in my heart for so long. But when I met Natalia, she filled me with stories that somehow completed me. And for the first time I can say I feel more complete than ever.

Today Vivianne’s going to watch her very first Quidditch match.

“This is going to be great,” she heard one say as she joined the crowd making their way to the quidditch pitch. The moment she found herself a good spot along with other Gryffindors, her eyes scanned the arena. She’s trying to find where the torch is just like in the muggle Olympics she used to watched back home.

“Looking for something?” the girl beside her asked.

She shook her head.
She heard the whistle and the crowd started to scream as players and quidditch balls flew here and there.

Browsing through the books in the library, Via came across stories about the famous Harry Potter. She got so engrossed learning his life and why the evil Voldemort who was then called You-know-who by the magical population wanted to kill him that much. Now, she couldn’t help but turn the pages of the book and read more. Just like her, Harry, grew up in the muggle world not knowing he’s well-known.

“Glad I don’t have the Dark Lord as enemy. No enemies at all.”

“Vivianne are you coming for lunch?”

“Later, perhaps. I still have to read something,” she answered.

“Oh Vivianne Nat,” her best friend chortled.

They were both down at the Greenhouse, one of Daisy’s favourite spots on the castle. Daisy is already busy working on her new study.

Via is hanging on to the door handle, ready to run out and far from the place.

“You come back here,” Daisy called.

“If you promise to put that slimy thing away,” she retorted. A tingling feeling is creeping at the back of her neck and she’s preventing herself from screaming.

“You promised me you’d help me today. Don’t chicken out.”

Perhaps she should have not agreed.
Too late.

“Goodmorning,” she greeted on her way to the Great Hall.

Via had been pretty early today. She immediately sat and grabbed the dessert first. Now, nothing could ruin her day except only if Hogwarts run out of ice cream and sweet and delicious cookies.

“Gee! You’ve had too much already and the day’s just starting,” Daisy said and took a seat beside her.

“Nothing is ever too much for dessert,” she smiled and continued.

No one said a word until Via squealed.

“What’s wrong?”

“My…” she grimaced, “tooth.” She placed her hand on her cheek.

“Want more ice cream, Via?”
