Ch. 37 (Part Two)

“Sirius if you would shut up, he could get to the point!” Camey exclaimed.

Dumbledore smiled slightly, his eyes dull. “With in a day, Pandora realized the horrible mistake that she made, and tried to correct it. She used a series of complex spells as an attempt to contain the evils, and it worked relatively well. However, Pandora did not have anywhere near Merlin’s powers, and could not fully contain the evils; so slight traces were left among the human race.”

“Slight traces?” Vi questioned. “If this what the world is like when there are only slight traces of evil… then I don’t even want to imagine what the world was like when that box was opened.”

“No,” Dumbledore said gravely. “You most certainly don’t; and now Voldemort has that box, and he will probably open it at a time when the world needs goodness the most.”

“Sir, how did Voldemort get the box?” Remus asked.

“Well, apparently he had been searching for it for the past 30 years; although I’m not quite sure how he found it. According to legend Pandora buried it beneath the sea; however, Voldemort is a very powerful wizard with numerous resources. One of our under cover agents had actually managed to get it to the Ministry, but as you saw-” Dumbledore turned to Sirius and Remus, “He managed to take it back.”

Camey took Remus’s hand. “What are we going to do?” she asked.

Vi placed her head in her hands, worriedly. “What is there to do?”

“Well we’re not just going to sit here, and let Voldemort release all evil into the world!” Sirius exclaimed.

Remus smiled. ”Sirius is right… for once.”

“Hey!” Sirius exclaimed… but the others ignored him.

Remus continued. “We might not make it, but we are going to go down fighting.”

Dumbledore’s eyes brightened. “Good, I have a plan.”

It was 1:00 am. Sirius was awakened by soft singing coming from the nursery. He slowly got up, and walked across the hall.

Vi was holding Hallie, and softly sinning:

Momma’s gonna buy you a diamond ring
And if that diamond ring turns to brass
Momma’s gonna buy you a looking glass

“Violet, what are you doing?” Sirius asked.

She sniffled, and placed Hallie in her crib; Hannah and Harry stirred. “I just wanted to sing for her,” she said, “I may not get the chance…Sirius what if we don’t make it?”

“Stop,” Sirius said, pulling his fiancée into an embrace. “We are going to be fine. We will be home for dinner, we will put the kids to bed, and you will sing for them tomorrow night.”

“Sirius you can’t be sure of that,” Vi said.

“I can, and I am. We are going to be fine.”

Ch 38: Broken Promises


“Vi move!” Remus exclaimed, as he hastily dodged an unforgivable curse.

“Ohhhh!!” she shrieked. Vi had to cartwheel to evade curses from Avery, Crabbe, and Nott!

“Nice one!” Remus shouted as he threw a curse at Lucius.

On the other side of the room Camey and Sirius were battling McNair and Karkaroff.

“No!” Sirius exclaimed, as a stinging hex hit him in the shoulder.

“All right there Padfoot?” someone invisible asked, at the same time Camey shouted, “Sirius?”

Sirius tried not to make any signs of astonishment obvious to the death eaters. “Yeah, I’m fine,” he shouted to Camey. As he continued to throw hexes at the enemy, he whispered, “Prongs?”

“Yes?”

“Is that you?”

“No, it’s Severus!” James answered sarcastically. “Sirius who else do you know that answers to Prongs?”

“Right, sorry.”

“How are you doing?” James asked.

“Oh, peachy keen!” he replied.

“Sirius, what kind of answer is that?” James asked.

Sirius stuttered out of the corner of his mouth.

“Never mind, do you need any help?” James asked.

“No, just go before they figure out you’re here.”

“All right, see you later,” James whispered as he scurried off.

“Sirius watch out!” Camey called, as she heard someone behind them. Thinking it was only James, Sirius continued to battle the others.

But Sirius was knocked off his feet.

“Oh,” Camey exclaimed, as she fell to the ground. She looked over to Sirius, then to her husband.

“Sirius, tell Remus…. Rose,” she whispered. A single tear fell down her cheek, and she slowly closed her eyes.

“No!” Sirius exclaimed. He crawled over to her, and checked for a pulse…. There wasn’t one.

“Remus, we have to get out of here!” Sirius yelled.

Remus nodded, not noticing his wife's condition, grabbed Vi’s arm, and disapparated.

“What’s the matter cousin? Can’t deal with the fact that I’m a better duelist?” Bella snickered.

“You just wait! I’m going to kill you, I promise you that!” Sirius held Camey lifeless body, and disapparated as well.

Hey...now Remus can be mine! lol...sorry that was heartless...what did she mean by Rose??

OMG! Cameykins!! That was pure evil, Katie. But I loved it. PAMS!

Hey All! I'm sooooooooooooooooo sorry I haven't posted. My computer contracted this weird virius, and it spread, over the wireless internet, to all the computers in the house (I'm at my Aunt's, using her computer at the moment)! But the company is sending us knew stuff, and it should be up and running by this weekend! So I'll post then.

And I'm really sorry, but I had to kill Camey. She wasn't in the books, so she had to die...... sorry everyone!

Ch. 39: Nothing Good Ever Comes From Going to the Hospital

Remus and Violet apparated to the Potter Manor.

"Sirius? Camey?" Vi called, throughout the house. "Where are they?" she asked Remus, as she walked back into the entry.

Before Remus could answer, James appeared. "James, what-?" Vi said questionly.

"Your supossed to be under cover," Remus said.

James sighed. "I know that Mooney. Dumbeldore sent me; he said you need to go to the hospital, immediately," he said, his voice full of sorrow.

"Why? Who-" Vi began.

"I don't have time- just go," James said, and watched them disapparate.

Sirius sat in the waiting room. "Oh this is all my fault!" he told himself.

Vi let go of Remus and ran to Sirius; she squeezed him tightly, silently vowing never to let go.

Sirius looked to his friend, deep sorrow filled his dark eyes. "Remus..."

"Don't!" he half- shouted, "she isn't....... we're not.......she can't be....... is she?"

For seconds there was only silence. Then Andi walked into the waiting room. "Remus, we did everything we could....but Bella-" Andi shuddered as she spoke her sister's name "- hit her with the curse."

Remus fell to his knees, but he didn't cry; he just couldn't. "This isn't happening..... it's a dream," he thought, and pinched his skin. "Wake up Remus..... come on..... WAKE UP!"

Andi's voice brought him back to reality. "Remus," she said softly. "I'm so sorry...... we lost Camey...... and the baby."

"The baby?" Remus asked, extremely softly.

Andi hesitiated. "You didn't know?"

"She was pregnant?" Remus replied, unable to wrapp his mind around the fact.

Andi nodded.

"Her name was Rose," Sirius told him.

Remus whipped around. "You knew?" he asked, his voice filled with profound anger. "You knew, and you let her go on that mission?"

"NO!" he replied. "I didn't know.... I would never have let her if I knew!"

"Then how-" Remus began.

"It was the last thing she said, before-"

Remus nodded, his eyes filled with pain and sorrow, with tears threatening to fall. Then, suddenly a look of rage, which none of them had ever seen, consumed his face.

"I'm going to kill her!" he shouted.

Sirius ran after him, as he stomped throught the halls. He grabbed Remus's arm, and whirled him around. "Remus you can't kill her!"

"Really? Watch me!"

"Remus, you are not going to back!"

"Yes! I AM!"

Sirius struggled with him, and Remus broke free; so Sirius tackled him.

Remus began to punch as hard as he could. "Sirius, let me go!"

"NO!"

"Sirius!" Remus growled.

"NO, I am not going to bury you too!"

"What does it matter?" Remus asked. "I have nothing to live for anymore."

Sirius held tight to Remus as he continued to struggle, and began to contemplate their lives. They were much to young to deal with this; with loosing loved ones. This life was simply not fair. At 21, you are not suppossed to be fighting a war, or worrying about your family; it is supossed to be a care-free time of nothing but fun. But who ever said life was fair?

I know this seems very final..... but don't worry, it's not the end. So, what do ya'll think?
