I promised a post, so without any further ado

As they reached the dungeons they heard the usual sound of students moving from class to class, and the sight of Harry’s favourite first year. (<- Sarcasm) Feeling in a good mood Harry began talking to Alex but Alex walked straight past. He had a strange look in his eyes and him arms were attached to his side.

”Lets get to class before Professor Slughorn sees us standing in the middle of the corridor.” Hermione said, taking Harry’s attention off Alex. Looking back to see the child, the boy strangely dissapeared. As they entered the room in the dungeons they saw Slughorn sat on the front desk.

”Harry, it’s so nice of you to turn up. I have been told to teach you how to brew a few potions for medical use by your Dark Arts teacher. Is that true?” Slughorn said jumping onto his feet.
”Yes, he said you would teach us the-,”
”-Pepperup potion and the wound-cleaning one, for first aid uses. Am I correct? He said, making Ron start laughing. Luckily enough he covered it with a cough so Slughorn didn’t notice. After asking the question the Prof left no time for answering and said, “Of course I’m right, I’m always right.”

”Now, who can tell me what the pepperup potion?” He asked once the class settled down.
As usual Hermione raised her hand, cleared her throat and said ,”It’s used to cure a person from the common cold.”
”Excellent Hermione, 10 points to Gryffindor. Now what about the wound cleaning potion?”
For once, Ron raised his hand and said, “Does it clean wounds?” with a sarcastic tone.
Slughorn was either daft, stupid or both because didn’t seem to hear the sarcasm. Instead he said, “Right you are son, I can tell you have the brains from your brothers.” Ron stared at him trying to work out if this was an insult when Slughorn moved on.

”This lesson I will be teaching you how to brew a pepperup potion. First you need to boil a mixture of salamander blood and lacewig flies. This should be heated for 10 minutes and then instantly cooled. The quicker it gets cold the better. We will not be testing these potions yet, however, we may need them once the winter arrives. Any questions? No, of course not, get brewing!”

Harry looked at Professor Slughorn, then back at Ron. “Is it just me or is everyone acting weird today? First Alex Thorn walked straight past me without saying hi, now Slughorn is doing the wrong potion, and he is acting like he is right for everything.”
”First day back, he’s probably got loads of things on his mind, and I thought you would be glad that Thorn isn’t following you around. Mind you, i think Slughorn's a bit of a fool.” Ron said trying to find an explanation, whilst watching Hermione making her potion.
”It’s just, he was acting weird, like he was under a spell. I dunno, let’s start making the potions.” Harry said trying to take his mind off what he had just said. ‘Like he was under a spell’, but that would mean that the controller was in the castle.
”Harry!” A voice shouted. Jumping up, Harry noticed that his salamander blood was bubbling, shooting at various people nearby.
”Aguamenti,” Hermione said, sending an ice cold jet of water on Harry’s cauldron. “What happened Harry?”
”I, erm… nothing, I was day dreaming, shouldn’t let it happen. Thanks Hermione!” Harry said taking the contents of his potion and putting it in a beaker. He carefully put his name on and gave it to the Professor.
Hermione stared at Harry, trying to see what was wrong with him, when she turned around to see Ron looking at her.
”What?” She said to him.
He slowly realised what he was doing and his face went as bright as his hair. “Nothing, I was just thinking, you’d be a great potions master,” he said quickly, covering his face. She looked at him, and turned around, no doubt blushing. She put her potion in beaker and handed it in, avoiding eye contact with the red faced Ron. As the lesson came to an end Ron snapped back into reality when he realised that he hadn’t brewed a potion.
”Oh no, what should I do?” he said trying to gather the spare ingredients.
”Don’t worry Ronald, I could see that you were um, doing something else so I put some of my potion into your beaker.” Hermione said smiling.

Slughorn looked at the collection of beakers that he had and beamed, he had never had such a successful class. After all, he didn’t see Harry’s little mistake.

”I thought he said that we were doing the wound cleaning potion?” Hermione asked walking in through the portrait hole. “I was looking forward to that.”
”Maybe next lesson, even though we were supposed to be doing the revival potion,” Harry said, looking at Ron and then Hermione, who kept blushing at different times.
"Thats Slughorn for you," Ron chuckled. This had been a strange day.

Not sure how it is, enjoyed writing it though, but i think this chapter's over, im not sure. *needs to check* Now im off to read the DaVinci Code, at nearly 2am. lol. At least i haven't got school tommorow! So Goodnight (or morning depending on your timezone, )

Anyways, I loved it Ali, but I have a feeling that someones hexing/controling the students and professors. I think they're tarketing (whoever it is) people who are somewhat close to Harry. Slughorn isn't daft Ali, he's just really self involved...LOL I love him, don't make him stupid okay? :simm: Snape on the other hand you can make as stupid as you like. Oh and I loved the whole thing with Ron, you write him really well, most people don't get him, they always make him stupid or mean, but I think you've got his character pretty good.

That whole part there was too cute, really well written Ali, it's nice to see a little love in the air... they're soooooooooooooooooooo cute, they should so have gotten together in book 6 but Noooooooooooooooooooo I have to wait...LOL I think you wrote it rather brilliantly. PAMS.

So, thanks for all of the comments. They mean alot. Im not feeling pretty well now so i'll try to post but i'm not sure when. I also have to read some of "Of Mice And Men" so that might delay the post, or get the creative juices flowing. It just depends. I'll try to post soon.

This was supposed to be out earlier, but its late. I apologise, because my internet messed up last night and today I went to a circus, but more of that later. Heres the next bit!

As soon as they sat down in the common room, they noticed that they hadn’t eaten yet. Standing up, once more, Ron led the way to the Great Hall.

Whilst walking back to the Great Hall nothing strange was seen, it seemed like Hogwarts had returned to its usual self. There was many students eating all types of food, drinking and laughing. Even the staff were eating at their table, looking down onto the children, trying to work out what plans the students would have next.
Harry, Hermione and Ron took a seat and began piling different foods into their plates, filling their goblets with pumpkin juice. It was strange how they could forget their hunger during lessons.
After Harry finished eating a few potatoes, he began thinking about what was said earlier. If he wanted to bring the DA back then surely he would need to recruit some more members. He scanned the hall, looking for a face which hadn’t appeared in the DA before. He noticed a Ravenclaw girl eating alone, so Harry decided she would be the first asked.

He walked up to the Ravenclaw table, followed by Hermione. Ron noticed that they had gone, and began following after he had finished his chocolate gateau. The girl noticed that Harry was walking towards her and fear came upon her face. What did she do, that the legendary Harry Potter and his friends had to confront her?
“Hello, I’m Harry Potter and I was wondering which year you are in?” Harry said with a smile on his face.
”I’m a third year,” she croaked, “What do you want?”
”Third year?” That’s great…we were wondering if you wanted to join the DA, our defence group. What do you think?”
The girl looked relieved now that she was safe and said, “Yeah, sure. I’d love to. I’m Orla Quirke by the way.”
“Nice to meet you Orla,” Hermione said. “I guess we will be seeing you soon. And don’t worry, I’ll find a way of getting the information to you.” She added, and began walked back to the common room to find more people. Hermione and Ron were back acting normal, but every so often, Ron stared at her for a few seconds. Harry had noticed this the most, and laughed within himself every time it happened.

They entered the common room, noticing that it was more crowded than earlier, which was a good thing. They began asking people to join the DA, and only one person said no. Just before they decided to go to sleep, two second years walked up to Harry, one boy and one girl.
”Hey Harry, we heard that you were collecting people for your group thingy, so we were wondering, can we join? We know lots of really neat spells, can we?” Said the male.
“Erm…Sure,” Harry said looking at the other two. It was strange that two second years just approached Harry to join the DA. But never the less, more people were needed.
”That’s great,” The boy continued, “My name is Cuthbert, Steven Cuthbert, and she is Nat’, or Natasha Drewney. I’ve heard lots about your group, I can’t wait. See ya around.” The child said and dissapeared to a crowd of second years.

It was late, and they had got quite a few new members, so deciding to leave it as that, Harry and Ron walked in the direction of the boys dormitory as they wished Hermione a good night.

Like i said, i went to the Chinese State circus, and it rocks. I saw Shaolin Warriors, amazing people who could fly through hoops,woot!
Hope ya liked this post, not really anything but I gots a new chapter starting next.

So, sometimes we have to write posts without a lot of action, I worry that I do that a lot...but this is fine Ali, it's not like it's boring and I'm just glad you're still writing. So PAMS...already.

I can jump through hoops...watch *Ottery tries to jump and he gets stuck and the cops have to show up and it's a whole fiasco* thank goodness I didn't light it on fire...*wipes brow* About the LJ thing Ali, that's cool, I'll friend you too...I mean...you are already my friend, but yeah!

YES... I love it. It was the best papi. I'm so happy... wait exhilarated that you brought the DA back. I mean, I loved it. It was the best part of the 5th book. Well, not the best... but a highlight.

Thanks everyone! The next chapter will have some action, and as i have mentioned, possibly some deaths . Im not sure when i will be posting but it should be soon, im just letting a friend from school catch up to a certain point.

Wind was bashing against the windows, as the rain thundered down. The trees of the forbidden forest could be seen in the dark distance. The only light in the grounds was coming from a tiny hut which belonged to the gamekeeper.
The common room was as crowded as ever. It was a large and loud room, with many students laughing and eating. The only students not doing any of these activities were Harry, Ron and Hermione. They were sat in a corner, with a pile of books in front of them. Hermione was fiddling with a round coin, shaped like a galleon whilst Ron and Harry were looking in books for spells.

”How about the shield charm first?” Harry asked.
”That would be good, but there’s bound to be people who can do them. We want to teach new stuff don’t we?” Ron said.
”Basics first, we have a few people who weren’t in the DA last time, so they might be totally new to this.” Hermione said throwing her coin to aside. “The first meeting is arranged for tomorrow, just before the Halloween feast.”
”Fine, so we are going to do a quick shield charm, then teach them how to disarm. Do you want to have a little duel near the end?” Ron said.
”Of course not, Ronald, what if one of them gets hurt,” Hermione replied sternly. Ron looked down onto the floor as he turned red. He had only suggested it.

”So, what are we doing tomorrow?” Ron asked trying to change the subject.
”I thought of going to see Hagrid before the meeting.” Harry said.
”Good idea, it has been awhile since we last saw him.” Hermione said. “But, we should go to sleep now, if we plan to get up early. We’ll need to tell the new members about the meeting, seeing as they don’t have any of the galleons.”
”Okay, now that I think about it, I do feel awfully tired. Good night Hermione, Ron.” Harry yawned. As he walked back he expected Ron to follow him, but Ron stood still and started to talk to Hermione.

Leaving them alone, he walked into his dormitory and took his robes off. He sat down on his bed, thinking about the DA.
Dumbledores Army, the name would always stay the same, no matter what happened. He lay down in his bed for awhile and then “Ouch.” Something had stuck into his spine. He stood up and saw a box. The box which Alberforth had given him, just before Ron was kidnapped. Harry opened it, taking out Dumbledores wand. But underneath the wand was a note written in loopy writing.

Harry,
Hopefully my dear brother has given you this wand. As you may have figured out, it was my wand. I never took my real wand to the cave, I knew what would happen. Instead I took a substitute. Forgive Snape, and show the Order this note, but only if it is what you want.
The wand in your possession is special. Keep it with you always. Stay safe, We will always be here for you,
Albus Dumbledore.

How could Harry not have noticed this letter? He reread the note twice, and slowly placed it back into its box. Who’s we? The Order? And why should Harry forgive Snape. If it wasn’t for Snape, then Harry would have a mother and father, not to mention a Godfather. Snape had been the one pointing the wand and Dumbledore, he killed him. And now this note said that Dumbledore knew what would happen. It was obviously a fake. Harry kept thinking that it was a fake, trying to make himself believe it. Closing the box, Harry placed the wand next to his wand. Even if it is fake, two wands are better than one.

Hmm, whaddya think? This is going to sort of be like GoF later on.

That was a very powerful introduction...wow. You're getting a lot good at this Ali... seriously...practice makes perfect. I love nice settings and then getting to the action...except when I like all action with a fast moving setting...

I liked the revelation but like Harry I have to wonder...why hadn't he noticed the letter before? Is it a fake? If so who put it there? Why would DD ask him to forgive Snape? Have you got all of this planned out already and you're just playing with my emotions? LOL you're just like JKR like that...manipulating your readers...LOL come to think of it...so am I
